Sun Wukong's Height: New Info

I've previously written how Sun Wukong is described in chapters chapters 2 and 21 as being "less than 4 chi tall" (不滿四尺) (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 1, pp. 128 and 408). But I completely forgot that Chapter 37 gives a more precise measurement for his height. He first transforms into a “tiny monk about two cun tall” (二寸長的小和尚兒) (based on Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 2, p. 172). He shortly thereafter grows even bigger when a prince makes fun of him:

Tripitaka pulled open the box’s cover; Pilgrim [Monkey] leaped out and began to hobble all over the place. The prince said, “This little midget! What can he know?” When Pilgrim heard this remark about his size, he at once resorted to magic. Straightening up his torso, he grew about three chi and four or five cun instantly (emphasis added). “If he can grow that rapidly,” said the soldiers, highly startled, “it will only be a few days before he pierces the sky.” When Pilgrim reached his normal height, however, he stopped growing (emphasis added) (based on Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 2, pp. 174-175). 三藏扯開匣蓋兒，那行者跳將出來，呀的兩邊亂走。太子道：「這星星小人兒，能知甚事？」行者聞言嫌小，卻就使個神通，把腰伸一伸，就長了有三尺四五寸。眾軍士吃驚道：「若是這般快長，不消幾日，就撐破天也。」 行者長到原身，就不長了.

One chi (尺) is roughly 12.3 in or 31.8 cm, and one chi equals 10 cun (寸; a.k.a. “Chinese inches”) (Jiang, 2005, p. xxxi). One cun would be about 1.25 in or 3.18 cm. Two cun would therefore be 2.5 in or 6.36 cm. Growing the stated additional height would then put our hero at 3 chi and 6 or 7 cun, which is roughly 3.86 ft or 1.176 m. This closely agrees with the aforementioned estimate of “less than four chi tall.”

【五行拳意】

五行拳不是練拳，而是在練五種不同的勁。

「劈拳」

「劈拳」形似斧，有劈物之意，五行屬金能養肺，是一氣之起落也。

起似伏龍升天，落如霹雷擊地。起無形，落無蹤，去意好似捲地風。

開始練劈拳，要找個開闊地帶，猶如人登上高山，視野一開，會禁不住地長呼一口氣。在開闊地帶，氣息容易放開。

「龍形搜骨」，就是劈拳裡前腳外撇的大跨步，這個步子開天辟地，打通三盤，調理百骸，是成就身子的關鍵。有了步子有功夫，沒步子沒功夫，這個步子就是內功。

劈拳的姿勢是手的一探一回，猶如人的一呼一吸。起時吸氣，落時呼氣，一趟四五百米地打下去，氣息越來越綿長，越來越深遠，精力便充沛了。

手部動作激發了全身，漸漸就會感到氣息鼓蕩，全身毛孔開合。薛顛說過：「練拳的人要學會體呼吸。」呼吸的妙處在打劈拳時可以體會到。

劈拳養肺，人的兩條胳膊對肺直接作用。

就如同小孩們做的廣播體操，如擴胸運動，伸展運動都是通過運動兩條胳膊，來達到鍛煉呼吸，強健肺部的效果。

許多人身體都有隱疾，以劈拳練息可以將其滅於無形。而且人一上了歲數，身體會虧空，就要通過練息將氣補足。

劈拳練息，這個功夫得一年才能成就，先祛病再強身。通過練息，身上的氣養育起來，大腦時常會有靈感，此時學拳就真是趣味無窮了。

身上的氣充足了，精神也變得活躍，像小孩一樣幹什麼都興致盎然，這就說明功夫已上路了。

此時就不必再到開闊地去練拳了。形意拳自古講究『拳打臥牛之地』，有個能挪步的地方就練上了，到開闊地打拳只是入門的方便之法。

氣息充沛，這是習武的基礎，形意拳先練劈拳。劈拳中本就含有鑽拳的姿勢，練好劈拳接著練鑽拳較容易。正是「金生水」，劈拳屬金，鑽拳屬水。

「鑽拳」

「鑽拳」形似湧泉，五行屬水能補腎，是一氣之曲曲流行，無微不至也。

鑽拳是要練腿，以活腿來養腎。

所以鑽拳的步伐不是直來直去，而是螺旋前進。讓兩條腿有一個鬆快的餘地，這樣肺氣足，腎水旺，上下身都修好，方可以向上進修。

鑽拳的六個變招中，學會了兩個就全有了。一個是前手壓住對方，扯帶得後手攆錐子似的攆進去。另一個是，前手一晃，你就撞在他後手上了，變魔術一般，不是障眼法，而是他換了身型。

兩者的前後虛實不同。整體說來，鑽拳不是鑽拳，是鑽身。

冬天商店掛著沉甸甸的棉簾子，人進商店，前手一撩門簾，身子就往裡鑽，身子一動，手上搭的分量卸了，人進了門，簾子也剛好落下，有道縫就進了人。這是生活裡轉換虛實的現象，形意拳的「換影」也是這個意思。

水處卑下，往下流，所以練成鑽拳後，人的性格會變得沈穩謙和，皮膚質地都會改善，聲音非常悅耳，心思也會變得很縝密。以前老輩拳師不識字，但氣質高雅，很有涵養，因爲形意拳是內家拳，不但改造人體還改造心志。

「崩拳」

「崩拳」形似箭，五行屬木能舒肝，是一氣之伸縮也。

「崩」字怎麼解釋，就是一崩勁嗎？其實崩拳的妙處在於張弛。

把直來直去的拳打轉了。把轉著的圈打直了，這是崩拳的練法。

崩拳步很微妙，步子只是向前，兩膝蓋是擠著的。但腿根裡夾著活的動勢，稍稍一調，就能隨時隨意地轉向、轉勁。所以崩拳微妙。

「炮拳」

「炮拳」形似炮，五行屬火能養心，是一氣之開合，如炮炸裂也。

炮拳出手後，要向後一聳，就是上挑的槍法，所以炮拳裡有兩個家伙，明顯的足下扎槍，隱藏的是上挑槍，一個在形上，一個在勁上，以下扎的拳形來上挑，所以才妙。炮拳要到槍桿子上去體會。

槍勁就是拳勁：在某種程度上，也可以這麼說。練槍是為了出拳勁，但出了拳勁，拳勁就比槍勁美妙。這美妙是因為入象化腦子，不管是有形的還是無形的，這桿槍我們都不要了。

炮拳前手橫架在眉前，後手由面門徑直打出去，攻擊敵人面門，取開炮的意象，稱前手為炮架，後手為炮彈，後手的出拳路線是直的，而且要有股爆炸力。

打炮拳時，後手不直線出擊，而斜著撇出去，正是「遇敵好似火燒身」，就像往火堆裡滴一滴油，不是一般地火苗跳起。而是整簇大火都跳起，炮拳就是令全身勁力跳起，勁力不在最外的手上，而在內裡的根節，手隨著根節升騰起的勁力揮出。

「橫拳」

「橫拳」形圓滑似彈，五行屬土能養脾和胃，是一氣之團聚也。

其形圓，其性實，其氣順，則五行和而百物生焉。

五行的拳母是橫拳，橫拳屬土，萬物歸於土，土含育萬物，生發著劈、崩、鑽、炮，所以橫拳是無形的，橫拳勁是形意拳最獨特的東西。

橫拳的練法，是斜著進一小步，橫著退一大步，橫拳等於是倒著打的，正好練這「踏荷葉」，腳伸在地上，要感到踏在荷葉桿上，只有一根絲能支持，要用腳的肉感，把這根絲探測出來。

橫拳是無形的，而有形的橫拳就是蛇行，一橫身子，就有了兜、裹、丟、頂。

拳勁起自腰勁，只有頭虛領了，腰裡才生力。

薛顛的蛇形。蛇形是肩打，「後手只在胯下藏」，後手繞在後臀胯下，貼著尾椎骨向上一提。猶如馬尾巴乍起來，才能跑狂了，撐上這個勁，尾椎乍了，肩膀才能打人，這是樁法融入拳法。

形意拳在發力時，只在碰到對手身上的瞬間，手才握緊。同樣的道理，只在打倒敵人的一瞬間，才露真形，這是五形拳的用法，只用一點，一點即可。大部分時間存而不用，神經上有儲備就行了。《西游記》裡的妖精，關鍵時候才顯原形。「真身只在剎那」。

尚雲祥還有「練拳要學瞎子走路」的竅門，重點不在拳腿，而在全身。

瞎子走路身子前後都提著小心，從頭到腳都有反應，練拳不是練拳腿，而是全身的敏感(敏銳的感知)。

Guns are punches: in a way, that can be said. Gun practice is for punching, but when you get punching, boxing is better than guns. This is wonderful because the visualization of the brain, tangible or invisible, we don't want this gun.

金鑰匙

近年來，我開始關注網友們分享的退休生活安排，除了健康，財富，旅行之外，最好能開發新的嗜好，或者延續以前的興趣，於是我列出以下學習項目：

理財

跳舞

攝影

畫畫

之所以把理財放在第一位，因為那是我最白目的領域。我從來不記賬，也不在乎戶頭里面有多少錢，感覺只要有工作，有進賬就餓不死。數年前去加州看老媽的時候，她幫我引薦了一個住在同一棟老人公寓的股市高手，在他的帶領下，我大開眼界，學習到一種保本的期權交易，有別於一般買空賣空，這種交易可以在短時間內用相對安全的方式賺一點小錢。然而等到年底報稅的時候，我才發覺它的稅率居然高達 40%， 感覺在給國稅局白幹活，還得自己承擔風險，如果賠了，國稅局的態度非常果斷明確 ----- 賠了活該，氣煞老娘了。

今年我的工作單位，頻傳預算短缺，極有可能解散整個工作小組，加上老媽的離世，讓我把退休計劃提上日程，套句老美的俚語 “Back in the driver’s seat”,  把主動權掌握在自己手裡。於此之際，一位多年老友和我聯絡，興奮地和我分享她如何走入理財的殿堂。

我對市場上的理財產品一直抱持著不聞不問，半信半疑的態度，但是這次我 Open Mind，聽完她的分享後，我才知道，所謂的理財不只是把一塊錢變成兩塊錢，而是更廣義的能夠達到“保本”，“增長“，“終生領取”，“傳承”，“合法避稅”，這幾項終極目標。

花了數天研究之後，我像是發掘到新的知識寶藏，越挖越有興趣。如果早在10年前接觸它，我就可以把自己規劃地更好，至少不要傻傻地幫國稅局數鈔票啊！於是我做了一個連自己都詫異的決定 ---- 何不去考執照來幫助其他像我一樣的小白呢？

距離上一次去考州政府核發的地產執照已經 30年了，此番再次閉關苦讀，死記法規條款，往往背到後面，忘了前面，搥胸頓足的同時，我不禁懷疑人生，否定自我 ----- 歲月不饒人，乾脆放棄吧。。。每日天人交戰數回合之後，想到我的責任是“造福蒼生”，於是又乖乖拾起講義，繼續努力。

某個週四下午，我到州政府指定的考場，預定3個小時的作答時間，我45分鐘就交卷了，在配置的電腦上提交答案後，我看到螢幕上顯示 “Pass”, 當時解脫的感覺遠遠超過喜悅。

回到家後，我在想為什麼不打鐵趁熱，加碼拿下另一個相關的執照呢？於是打印出更多的講義和筆記（下圖），再重複一天數回的天人交戰，最後皇天不負苦心人，成功拿到第二張執照。

老媽在世的時候，對我的佛系理財方式非常不以為然，而更令她擔心的是我隱世孤僻的社交模式，絕對會提早患上老人癡呆。她每次叨念我的時候，我都心不在焉或者嘻嘻哈哈地敷衍她，沒想到有一天我會心甘情願地改變自己，正視自己的財務狀況，並將走進人群，分享知識。

寫這篇部落格的時候，想到老媽的無所不能，想到她的如來佛掌，我不禁笑了。笑中有淚，欣然地接受她遞給我的金鑰匙，讓它開啟我人生的另一扇門。

于承曦在選手村的生活就是吃、健身、練唱、吃、練beat-box 練唱、練拳、吃、練琴、練吉他、睡覺。 10隊隊友在幾天內就確定好了整首歌的二創，二公的節目全部靠他們自己，這個階段導師並不介入指導。 導師的任務就只是幫他們拉好了隊伍，並提供歌單。二公之前，導師沒其他任務了。 在他們第一次把整曲過了一遍，覺得呈現得不錯，接著就在練習室練唱了一下午。他們覺得必須過一次錄音間，看看整曲經由麥克風擴大器後音箱放送出來的效果如何。 他們問ai助理要一次進棚錄音的機會，ai助理傳達了。 匯演中心幫他們安排了錄音室，並詢問需不需要安排錄音老師。 他們說謝謝不用了，Alan 與 Noah本來就是身兼音樂製作人的創作人。 然後他們去錄了音，錄音當中也修改了些聽起來不順，不高大上的地方。修到他們大家都滿意了，聽完拍板，就唱這一版。 然後跟匯演中心妝造部提出服裝要求。 之後練習室內，大家都以這一版本練唱、合beat-box、合音、和聲。並在逐漸熟練的演唱當中即興舞蹈與互動。 二公前這段日子，別隊過得如何他們不知，但對10隊的小夥子們來說，二公前這段練習就是在玩，每天都玩得很開心，有時候他們練一練還會鼓搗出誇張的beat-box來，互相打鬧逗笑。 練習時的中場休息時間，他們有時會在原地坐下，圍在一起聊天，有次問到于承曦一二次海選的舞蹈，從此開啟大家的1500年前考古之旅。 休息間隙偶爾介紹讓大家輕鬆輕鬆： 好聽的臭美歌那就來首 Meghan Trainor 的 Me too，大家都在鏡子前���比誰最臭美；觀看厲害的性感舞蹈那就來首 Peaktime 的 Bad，大家就在鏡子前面學舞步看誰最性感，這些都引發了隊友的探究欲與創造欲。 大家還會互相分享創作的心路歷程。于承曦覺得自己來這節目來對了，他學了好多。 二次公演前一天，匯演中心通知各隊進行彩排，每隊半個小時。 10隊還要求換掉服貼式麥可風，他們需要手持式高感度麥克風。

二公如期而至。 1號超大表演廳中，除了選手區，已經坐滿了人。 原本導師區與舞台間有一條護城河般的隔離帶，現在坐擁在舞台邊的是100位星媒觀察員，然後是15位海選評審弧型座位帶一線排開，最後面才是五位導師坐在高處俯瞰整個場地。 全部十隊選手全在後台準備，每個選手右肩上都貼有一公時的個人號碼，每個人都帶上了耳返麥克風，就10隊的麥克風與眾不同。 時間一到，主持人金碩永率先登場。 「女士們先生們，各位晚上好，我是主持人金碩永。」 現場一片掌聲。 「現在開始，將進行 1 on Top 第二次公演。 「今天是兩隊之間對抗的競演比賽。 「現場將由光腦隨機抽出兩隊，互相對抗。 「獲勝隊伍將獲得全員保留為獎勵，落敗隊伍將淘汰兩人。 「落敗隊伍淘汰的依據為，一公開啟的投票截至九月十五日七點五十九秒的票數為準，落敗隊伍隊員票數最低的兩位將遭到淘汰。 「十個隊伍共計將淘汰20位選手。 「隊伍勝敗將由海選評審十五位、媒體觀察員一百位、直播間觀眾投票，分數多的一方獲勝。 「得分的依據為，每位評審一票100分，觀察員一票30分，直播間觀眾一票10分。 「十個隊伍將分為五場競演，每場競演結束將在直播間內同時開動同場競技投票，兩隊競演隊伍序號將分別出現在直播間螢幕左右兩側，歷時三分鐘關閉，請觀看直播的觀眾踴躍投票。 「導師區的導師們不設票，但必須評選每隊1位VIP。 「VIP將是第三次公的重要角色。 「現在有請所有隊伍入場，在我右手邊的是單號隊伍，在我左手邊的是雙號隊伍。請就座。」 座位上方分別亮出隊號。左邊1 3 5 7 9，右邊 2 4 6 8 10。所有隊伍正從金字塔座位兩側的通道出來，往座位區坐定。 「現場評審、觀察員們手中都有一個投票裝置，現在請按最上方的白色按鍵，為我們隨機選出第一場出賽的兩個隊伍。黃燈隊伍首先上場、藍燈隊伍後位上場。」 右邊6號亮了黃燈，2號亮了藍燈。 在場觀眾手中的投票裝置，黃色按鍵出現了6號，藍色按鍵出現了2號。 「6號隊伍請上台，2號隊伍請準備。」 6號隊伍上場站好位置，舞台全暗，五秒後亮起，舞台上出現一片森林的投影場景，前奏響起。他們表演了一首抒情歌曲，像芮銘二次海選那種型式，加入了二創改編的曲調有些輕快，觀眾還看到有小動物在森林裡跑來跑去，6隊選手們邊唱歌邊追來追去，還有人模仿動物的舞蹈。場面很可愛。 這場表演受到大家的喜愛，紛紛送上熱烈掌聲。 2號上台表演了，他們表演的是一首星空進行曲，本來縹緲悠暗的星空，讓他們演繹得異常美麗，歌舞結合得很是動人。表演完收到不斷的掌聲。 同時，在任何場合看直播的觀眾們，其屏幕上都顯示了邊框左下角黃色6號按鍵，邊框右下角藍色2號按鍵，投票已開啟，三分鐘後按鍵將消失。 金碩永上場又對投票引導了一番，接著請導師們對兩隊的表演評比一番。 導師們誇讚評鑑了一番兩隊的表演，並對備選的VIP各抒己見。 直播間也很熱鬧，都在討論雙方的演出，還有誰比較出色，還有表白各位導師、表白各家選手的。 在投票結束後，2位VIP也選出來了。勝出隊也產生了。 「即將遭到淘汰的選手，將會在二公結束後，以直播方式公布。現在請大家繼續享受舞台上的表演。 「請現場評審與觀察員為我們選出第二場競演的兩支隊伍，請按鈕。」 「黃色10號隊伍請上台，藍色1號隊伍請準備。」 然後觀眾們就發現10號隊伍很吵。 「耶，該我們了。」 「大家檢查測試下麥克風。」 「山下，你領子沒翻好我幫你翻。」 每個人一邊上台一邊檢查自身妝備。 「OKOK。」 台上七人之間有點間隔一排站開，每人都一身合身的造型軍裝，有穿修身軍大衣的、有穿小軍禮服的、有穿軍領襯衫軍靴的，當然都不是真的。卻帥翻螢幕前所有觀眾。 尤其每個人的身材都各自經過舞蹈長年雕塑，可以說身形真能吊打一眾超模。 評審席歐娜老師完全不遮掩故意發出吸口水的聲音，惹得現場哈哈大笑。 現場全暗了。 五秒後，現場燈光並未打亮。但有優美和聲唱了出聲：(註1) 【Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? (這是真實的人生嗎？幻象嗎？) Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality(困住了我，無處可逃) Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see(張開雙眼，看��世界) I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy(我一無所有，也無需同情)】 一束聚光燈打在Duncan身上。他一手舉著麥克風貼近嘴，一手蓋著嘴部與麥克風。低音炮的聲音從他麥克風傳了出來。 群眾驚了。 另一束聚光燈打在山下悠澤身上，他跟Duncan一模一樣的姿勢，現場環場立體音箱裡出現了手風琴的聲調。 然後現場所有射向舞台的燈全亮了。就聽到合聲以原曲音調堅定唱著： 【那就這樣背起行囊，(節奏漸漸加快)走我的路！】(從這開始都是原曲音) 大家就聽到開始有鼓聲有風聲有流水聲，出了個聲音，就有一束聚光燈投在發聲人身上。 【(beat-box鼓聲、風聲加入，有音調的低音為背景音) 再多的掙扎，只要踏出一步， 一步一腳印，就能踏出深淵。(beat-box合聲層層遞進) 失敗的累積，是痛苦的滋味， 苦盡後甘來，迎接你的就是喜悅。】 隊友們開始在舞台上遊走，面向群眾比劃出激烈的手勢，帶動大家激動地一起跟著節拍拍手。 【副歌：(beat-box電吉他聲音+低音炮+手風琴聲高昂) 那就這樣背起行囊，走我的路！ 不管多遠，張開翅膀，夢想就在盡頭處。 過往不必回憶，人不走回頭路。 向前向前向前，堅定更接近成功的每一步。】 每個人在這邊開始一大段一大段地炫技，高低鼓音混合、鐵琴音階敲奏音、低音bass環場音、風聲、鈴鐺聲，什麼都有，卻都非常巧妙和諧地融合在一起。 接著一陣引導的水滴聲後，他們一起吟唱了原曲合聲最精采部分，同時以這部分為背景音，Noah來了段rap： 【跌倒了就爬起來，摔傷了也不活該 嬰兒的趴爬走跳，哪個不是用傷換來 不管是多高的山，不管是多深的海 我的行囊所到之處，都將被我足跡覆蓋 (變調+beat-box低音鼓+鼓音鈸音漸漸加入，營造搖滾樂的氣氛) 星海茫茫無覓處就登上最亮的那顆星星 航向渺渺迷亂闖就穿越最深的星空蟲洞 (beat-box 鼓聲鈸聲+重低音爆發)】 接著大家全場亂飛舞著把副演奏起――beat-box的電吉他聲加入，接著低音bass、鼓聲、鈸聲、原曲二部合聲當背景音，加入炸裂的搖滾于承曦唱： 【那就這樣背起行囊，走我的路！ 不管多遠，張開翅膀，夢想就在盡頭處。 過往不必回憶，人不走回頭路。 向前向前向前，堅定更接近成功的每一步。】 合奏中少了beat-box鈸聲， 【再多的掙扎，只要踏出一步，(然後少了鼓聲) 一步一腳印，就能踏出深淵。(少了低音bass) 失敗的累積，是痛苦的滋味，(少了所有beat-box) 苦盡後甘來，迎接你的就是喜悅。(只剩全員合聲) 他們在最���一小段漸漸放慢回原節奏，七位成員聚集到舞台中央，以原曲十六小節吟唱合音作為結束。 靜默了一會兒後，全場站起熱烈掌聲。 組他們隊的貝樂寧導師再也忍不住，拿起麥克風就問：「剛才所有聲音都是你們自己發出來的？」 「是的，老師。」Noah隊長代表發言。 下面的評審裡，傑克遜老師說：「我不信！除非你們都改簽到我公司。」 眾人爆笑，公司梗又來了。偏偏于承曦這個公司梗原發人還在該隊。 金碩永上台緩頰，「通通都是我的。你別搶。10隊可以下台休息了，請1隊上場。」 直播間瘋得飛起，通通都在問，那是人能發出來的聲音嗎？就有非常非常非常小眾的beat-box人士在線科普。 這場競演，10隊獲勝，票數超高。 大家都知道，不是1隊表演得不好，1隊可是芩襄老師組的隊。 而是10隊的二創與表演，出乎意料太驚人。 10隊的VIP給了Duncan，不知道為什麼，導師們對他的低音炮情有獨鍾。 接下來的三場競演也結束後，節目迎來了尾聲。 金碩永在台上做結束： 「第二次公演已經結束，感謝所有導師的評選，感謝所有評審與觀察員的參與，更謝謝直播間觀眾們的鼎力支持。我們第三次公演再見！」 「感謝所有選手的賣力演出，稍後請於2號試演廳集合。我們即將公布淘汰名單，與第三次公演的進行方式。」

在2025一月，岸畔咖啡新年的第一場演出將邀請到來自日本山口市的雙人民謠組合Noriko Kodama Duo，以及來自高雄的COLD DEW主唱林哲安和新北小才女毛瑞琳帶來三種不同時空背景與生命經驗的詩歌展現。

在過去的兩年間，這個場域展現的多是各種前衛、實驗或更加形式複雜的作品；是時候品嚐一些更親人的聲響了。然而民謠卻因為其文學形式的融浸，它絕不比任何前衛作品更加保守---甚至可說它所攜帶的資訊或許遠比任何其他類型的���樂作品都還要豐富與具象！在Noriko Kodama Duo的作品中，我們可以看到一種更冷冽的熱情，她描繪了雪、以及相較於台北更高緯度的天空與色彩；在林哲安的音樂裡則是誠懇到令人心痛的唱出一種令本地人熟悉的、潮濕與燥慍的心景和無奈，一種亞熱帶成年人的都市生活。而21歲的毛瑞琳所看到的世界又有些不同；她尚未妥協、正在掙扎與焦慮－彷彿還擁有更多的權力可以質疑自我，進而駐足於公園、路邊與戀心之間。

Kishibe Cafe is delighted to announce our first live performance, “The Garden of Live Flowers,” in January 2025! We are pleased to invite Japanese folk-music duo Noriko Kodama Duo from Yamaguchi, lead vocalist Lin Zhe An from Cold Dew in Kaohsiung, and rising star Mao from New Taipei City to take part in this event with us. During the performance, the artists will present their distinct spatio-temporal backgrounds and dynamic realms of experience by means of their songs, lyrics, and verses.

Over the past two years, our venue has showcased various progressive, experimental, and complexified forms of artistic works. Perhaps it is time for us to enjoy something that resonates more deeply with the audience. While the genre of folk is often intertwined with its unique literary form, folk music does not indicate a conservative stance in contrast to other progressive works. Instead, folk music significantly contains vivid delineations that open up a wider spectrum of artistic imagination, expression, and representation.

In Noriko Kodam Duo’s works, we can glimpse an abiding passion enfolded in a sense of frostiness through their depiction of snow as well as the variation of colors and skies, especially from a climate at a higher-than-Taipei latitude. Lin Zhe An’s work, on the other hand, embodies heart-felt sincerity that reflects the familiar mindset of local city dwellers in subtropical climates, where emotional resignation and growing restlessness are coupled with humid air and damp weather. As for 21-year-old rising star Mao, the world she perceives is different from the abovementioned climates. She has not yet reached a compromise; she is still in the process of enduring struggles and anxiety – a process that continuously allows her to be entitled to define her identity amid uncertainty. Accordingly, her journey takes her through multiple stops at parks, roadsides, and romantic encounters during the ride of her life.

The three groups of artists will present their different worlds through intricate and delicate portrayals in music and verse. You are cordially invited to join us at Kishibe Cafe.

活躍於日本的歌手。2000 年左右，當時在硬核樂團的児玉開始玩民謠。她的歌聲帶點懷舊的味道，彷彿對你輕聲說話，跟著吉他的聲音輕輕地滲入你的心靈深處。2015 年，獨立製作《RE》。2019 年，從Accretions發行《Abyss》。2022年，與貝斯手大澤逸人 (Masao Onose Show、CANTO），以Noriko Kodama Duo發行《Uden Title》。

大澤逸人 Itsuto Osawa

在各種樂團中演奏電貝斯、低音大提琴和低音馬頭琴，是日本少數的低音馬頭琴樂手，他的演奏結合呼麥，與 児玉哲子的「枯山水」世界觀精妙地交織在一起。

林哲安 Lin Zhe An

高雄人，現為COLD DEW樂團主唱／吉他／合成器手。2016年發行個人首張EP《TUMOR》、2017年與發行合輯《Fall Tracks》。目前正嘗試著享受獨處的快樂。

日本九州 ---- (7) 指宿之二

吃完清涼的素面，我們驅車前往最後一個景點 ----池田湖，它是九州島上最大的湖泊，湖水清澈。

因為是平日，湖邊幾乎沒有其他遊客，我很享受這份難得的寧靜。

西哥桑大概第一次碰到我這類特種兵，不到三小時就完成踩點，這下他有點不好意思了，我跟他說沒關係，送我回酒店即可，然後他拿出翻譯器，說要送我一個 Service，就是免費增加一個景點 --- 知林島。

我在做攻略的時候，研究過知林島，它是指宿外圍的離島，每年3到10月的退潮時，會浮現出一條沙道，直通島嶼。現在已經12月份，看不到退潮的盛況，但是能夠一睹其風采，那也是求之不得的 （下圖看到的是目前被海水覆蓋的景象，但是那一條白色的路徑還是很明顯）。

我真的很難用語言表達我的感謝，特別是在溝通困難的情況下。

後來西哥桑送我去酒店，他又特別下車去跟酒店前台交涉，希望他們能提早讓我 Check in（因為還不到3點）。辦完入住手續後，我跑到外面，看到西哥桑在車內講電話，我一再地跟他鞠躬致謝。他不止是一個運將，更是指宿的觀光大使，即便我早已經回到美國，即使我們隔著萬水千山，但是他的熱情和友善，是此行最靚麗，最難忘的風景。

由於指宿靠海，我當然又選擇了一個面海的房間。

除了溫泉，指宿還有得天獨厚的『沙浴』，用簡單粗暴的解說，就是用溫泉蒸熱的沙子，類似於『活埋』的方式把人包起來（只露出頭部），幫助血液循環，達到放鬆的目的。

由於旅程接近尾聲，我告訴自己要“Open Mind”, 所以先嘗試了酒店內建的沙浴（1500 Yen），沖洗乾淨之後，正好可以去��湯，一舉兩得。

酒店大廳並提供無限暢飲的生啤酒。

我在房間內看著夕陽（下圖冒煙的沙灘，就是沙浴的熱沙），度過忙碌充實的一天。

第二天清晨，下樓吃早點的時候，餐廳已經把我的定食套餐準備好了。

還有一客熱騰騰的鍋燒麵。

在晨曦的陪伴下，一路走到車站，同樣的搭乘 『指宿之玉手箱』 從指宿到鹿兒島。看到窗外櫻島越離越遠，以後聽到這個地名，再也不陌生了。

到了鹿兒島要轉搭新幹線回福岡，轉車時間只有7分鐘，順利到月台後，還有時間邊玩手機，邊等火車。這次旅行讓我嘗試了很多新奇的事物，所謂的探索，或者冒險，就是在一些經歷中學習，讓自己變得強大，勇敢。

到達福岡博多車站，第一件事就是找尋我放在 Coin Locker 的行李，原本以為要費一番波折的，沒想到只要補繳費用（加付另外4天的錢），我可愛的行李箱還是好端端地在原地等我。

由於前5天，每天繁忙奔波，回到福岡這天，我選了一個相對舒適的星級酒店，讓自己好好休整，明天再出發。
