been working on a reverse au for a while !

in this, instead of being chained in place lamb walks the same circular path around a pole forever to teach them that life and death are circular, and theyre losing it in there

narinder, the last cat, agreed to help them on the condition that they let him take aym and baals spirits back, and those two act in rataus role of giving narinder advice (still as summoned spirits, not properly alive)

lamb does come around to him after he defeats them, they still hate being in public though

clauneck, kudaai and clemach take the place of the bishops, the story being that the war between gods got out of hand. when the old gods tried to extinguish kudaais forge, tear claunecks cards and take clemachs relics, all three were pushed to the brink trying to keep their place in the world. all of them felt forced to react to keep their roles and they fought back, immediately staeting to lose themselves as they did. clauneck thinks he controls the fates now (he has the misery mask on the back of his head), kudaai wields his own weapons every day, too paranoid to ever put them down, and clemach is overtaken by her need to ascribe things power, and doesnt care what she destroys to achieve it

Would it be a bit ironic or adorable if Anthea sang 'You'll Be in My Heart' from the Tarzan movie to Aym and Baal when they were dealing with nightmares to help them sleep?

OMG-ironic I guess considering their hearts don't beat??? XD

But in all seriousness I've actually thought about Anthea singing to the boys! I kinda like the idea of them singing 'Edelweiss' from The Sound of Music to lull them to sleep-my own mother loved the film when I was little, and back when she would still sing to my sister and I while kissing us goodnight it was always 'Edelweiss'.

(now for obligatory LORE)

As Anthea and Narinder work on their relationship they take turns who sits in bed with the kits and who pulls up a chair-neither can leave really without risk of one of the boys waking up looking for them only to be gone, so for those first few weeks neither get much sleep. They take turns keeping watch-that way someone can hopefully catch nightmares before they fester, or at least be there if it's their name called. It drains them both a LOT, but hey they're parents-a little sleep loss is nothing when it's your kids.

Scuffed-ass COTL height chart where I don’t even tell you their heights, I just show you how tall they are relative to each other. If they share an arrow they are basically the same height. Most normal followers can be expected to reside in the general area of ‘above lamb but just below Kallamar’.

This is also the most useless chart ever because I didn’t even show what most of ‘em look like body-wise ghhhh it’s ONLY relative height. I should be thrown in prison

I can't imagine how weird/hard it must be for the Bishops to find Narinder again, just for his appearance to have been significantly reshaped by a faraway culture's customs and undoubtedly such a long time speaking only a faraway language having also reshaped his speech at least partially with an accent. Just this constant reminder in his very being that he's detached himself from the Faithful Lands with full commitment.

!! Gods yes, this is something I really want to play with (especially in the rewrite)- it's probably buried in the hundreds of things I've posted, but I shared a little comic some months back where Shamura straight up says Narinder isn't the person they remember anymore... and Narinder agrees, going so far as to say that the brother they knew is dead.

The language thing!! This is such a fun little detail you've mentioned because it's glossed over in DCHtS, but when Narinder met Wren he straight up says he hasn't spoken the Faithful language in a long time- in the 180ish years between learning the godless language and meeting Wren, he only spoke the godless language, and he and Wren transitioned fully to the godless language once Wren was comfortably fluent (to the point that their children don't even speak the Faithful language at all). So in the last 200 years, like maybe 5-7 years max has he spoken any amount of the Faithful language at all. His speech is definitely accented now, whenever he speaks the Faithful language... which is rarely, and inside the story it can be assumed he only speaks it when speaking to Lamb and the Bishops- and even then only when they're discussing something... sensitive.

He keeps his hair long, wears godless clothes and jewelry, and though he never quite lost his air of elegance learned during his time on top of the world he smiles and laughs so much more freely... he keeps his third eye closed 95% of the time (moreso bc it's heavily related to his magic in this AU than actually being used to see) and is more expressive with his body language... everything he is now is Godless Narinder. Dedicated farmer, doting father, loving husband, devoted leader (and yes, I'm using that language on purpose) and friendly (protective) neighbor Narinder. Even in the quietest moments, when it's just Narinder and the Bishops- when no one is speaking and there are no godless around them, just the five (six, including the Lamb) of them out in the wilds that could be anywhere.... they can't see the brother and god that once was.

... But then there are moments that their brother bleeds through and they know oh, this is my brother. Changed, like them, but still him. No longer The One Who Waits but always Narinder.

Random Thoughts: About Cayn's world

Hello hello! Well, these are scattered thoughts over my Goat's AU, hope y'all like them and please please reblogs are well appreciated!

Summary: This is totally the opposite of Abel, which means they tried to get speedrunned the whole thing, and you'll see what I mean by tried.

TW for implied mass murder, and other gory and horrid themes

First off, order!

Being the forfeiter of the crown, Shamura had became The All-Omniscent, trapped by his younger silibing, Narinder, Leshy, Kallamar & Heket

Why the colors look off? The crowns and places are placed differently on this, excepting Shamura and Narinder

Shamura - Crown of War & Knowledge, the oldest

Resides on The Undergrounds / The Purgatory in Abel's world

They

Heket - Crown of Pestilence, the second oldest

She resides on Sunken Shipwreck / Anchordeep in Abel's world

Narinder - Crown of Death, the middle silibing

His place is Camelia Cradle / Silk Cradle on Abel's world

Leshy - Crown of Famine, the second youngest

He took Anura as his home, and by the way, he's made out of mushrooms / Same name

Kallamar - Crown of Chaos, the youngest

Resides on Deeplogs / Darkwood in Abel's world

In this AU, Cayn found the crown while exploring an abandoned temple on Camelia Cradle, when the crown floated around, they were taken to The Undergrounds, where The All-Omniscent spoke to them, requesting him to kill all of their silibings and start a cult.

Little they were aware that Cayn was a former warrior and skilled master of weapons, left alone the fact they had.

Slaughtering their way to the Bishops, they would let them with no troops on within weeks, but decided to pause a little to grow their cult a tad bit stronger, just in case.

But in the meantime of resting, the crown, a parasite in disguise, digged down onto their brain, making space for yet another dark conscious form of life in Cayn.

One day, everything changes, when the fellow goat's stress triggers the parasite, and starts a huge slaughter on the cult, killing merciless everyone and everything around.

Yes, everything. Even the childrens and the oldest, even the most loyal to the least faithful.

By the moment of realization, it was too late.

And this only fueled their anger, going and butchering the Bishops like an animal, powered by the parasite. At the very end of the trial, Shamura tried to snitch the power away, thing not ending in a good thing.

But, for the better, they managed to trigger out the parasite, leaving the pure Crown of War in Cayn's hands...

Still that didn't soothe their anger, slashing their axe deep down their skull not once but thrice before beheading the spider god.

Mhm, as you can assume, the first rule of their cult was, "Either to be hurt or to hurt. Preferably the second."

(Cayn deals with their traumas very violently)

I have another lamb that I finally got around to drawing I just call him ushant for now

he's 4'11 and his neurons have been so fried from being resurrected so many times he usually just thinks with his dagger more than with logic. ushant never physically has the crown on his head bc it's always in dagger form under his cloak.

he also has an affinity for. squid. they're kinda bad together but uuuh maybe I'll make it work out good? idfk

Poll results asked for more Narigoat so I decided on making my own lore for them :]

Narinder is much kinder in opposition to the version that is willing to use people. He mourns every single worshiper as a deity of life, and his siblings, attempting to show pity for the young god, restrain him to protect Narinder from making those harsh decisions.

He strikes a deal with the Goat, wanting his freedom to make a kinder world, but soon realizes the debt that will need to be paid for those chains to break.

it's damnation— i messed up .ᐟ

A what-if where post-game Lamb, who does not wish to see their followers in pain once sin accumulates within them, tries one day to become the designated bearer of the Sinner's Pride ritual. They argued that since they're "god" ("the person who determines what is a sin"), they shouldn't be terribly affected... in theory.

Unfortunately, they're no Jesus Christ who can magically take on everyone's sins. It does the opposite in fact, as they are overfilled with sin— corrupting their godly soul and have the overwhelming urge to destroy, murder, partake in cannibalism, or tempt other followers to do the same.

While the apostles take care of the cult, Narinder (who is the only other ex-crownbearer to have handled sin concerning the Red Crown), is going to lose sleep in the next few weeks keeping an eye on The Lamb while researching a way to absolve the absolver of sin.
