I worked on my slightly longer poolverine fanfic the last few days and I just have to share this thought I might write into the story!!

So what if they will be separated for a bit and like in the movie with Rogue, Logan gives his dog tags to Wade. You know, telling him he will come back for them.

And Wade being so emotional about it, that he wants to give Logan something too. But he doesn't have a lot to himself so he takes his Adventure Time watch off his wrist and puts it on Logan's.

And Logan's first reaction is like wtf? But he keeps it on and cherishes it nonetheless, because Wade might be a man-child but Logan also gets that his intention comes from the heart.

You know what would be an incredibly juicy plot that the show will sadly never go for? Buck avoiding being near his nephew. Out of all the 118 characters he had probably the most special relationship to Bobby and as of 8x18 he has barely allowed himself to even begin grieving him.

And then like a month after the man who was like a dad to him died his sister who barely had a connection to Bobby at all decided to give Bobby's full name to her newborn son. That kid is not just a Robert by middle name, his full name ist Robert Nash Han and Athena is already calling him Bobby.

Buck knows it's not the kid's fault and he doesn't love his nephew any less than he loves his niece, he doesn't even really blame Maddie and Chim - they're trying to honour Bobby in their own way. But the "real" Bobby Nash hasn't even been in the ground for a month, it feels like his body is barely cold and Buck is only beginning to really deal with this loss.

Every time someone calls the baby by name he flinches internally and he hates himself for it. He avoids holding him, avoids being alone with him, avoids talking about him and he hates it, hates that he is being so selfish about it, but he can't help it.

After Jee-Yun was born and they finally felt safe about covid he spent as much time with her as possible and it brought him so much joy. Spending time with little Bobby brings him pain. He tells himself he just needs to get over it, that it'll pass, but for now it just hurts.

It takes Maddie a little while to catch on, but she does eventually notice that Buck is avoiding her. He basically lived on her couch for a while there and visited her a lot and now that his nephew is born and he should have all the more reason to want to come over he suddenly has an excuse to almost never be around? It's weird and so different from how he acted when Jee was a baby.

She finds an opportunity to corner him eventually and he confesses everything. That he hasn't been avoiding her, but little Bobby. That he respects her and Chimney's decision, but doesn't like it. That he knows it's not fair, but he doesn't know how to handle it yet.

And there's not really a solution. Maddie admits that maybe they should've discussed the name as a family. They hadn't even asked Athena for approval and it was really soon after the funeral, maybe too soon to start naming babies after Bobby. She suggests that Buck could call his nephew by a different nickname. The middle name isn't really an option, but there are other nicknames for Robert. Everyone else has already taken to calling the baby Bobby or little Bobby though and just Buck using a different nickname won't make a big difference.

So Buck simply repeats that he'll get over it with time. That the pain of losing the original Bobby will become more manageable with time and he will learn how to deal with this better. Neither of the siblings are really happy with this outcome, but there isn't much else to do. Maybe as a final scene one could see Buck going back to therapy and starting to grieve Bobby for himself - not just follow Bobby's last wishes, taking care of the team or trying to be okay too hard, but to actually feel the loss for himself. Show Buck willing and beginning to work on this.

AHKSDAHSJGD You just gave me a big shot of dopamine and now I've got the silliest grin on my face!! <333 I would happily give you a thick triology of graphic novels or an RPG video game about my Rose Knights if I had any of that, but as it is you have my adoring love for being interested in my ocs and silly ideas! Thank you! If I draw more concept art (which I am currently doing, because these kids are giving me the Art Stimmies right now) you'll find out more about character dynamics and worldbuilding, but as for plot!!! Lapis [blue-haired gal] has been pretending to be the Destined Blue Rose to act as.. basically a propaganda and motivational tool to boost morale for the Roses who have been trying to beat off the Dragons from their lands for centuries. Unfortunately, due to shenanigans and politics, turns out there are enemies inside the walls of the Rose capital city as well as enemies influencing the Dragons to be more violent and petty than normal. So Lapis and her misfit team of Rose Knights friends have to act as teenage peace diplomats and a detective squad at the same time. And also maybe figure out who on earth dethroned the Dragon King and assassinated the Rose Queen. That's pretty important too, but not near as important as discovering the power of friendship and being proud of your real colors!

I'm feeling more than fine about 17, really truly. I don't think anyone should be worried at all.

I think sometimes my interactions with Glenn come off a little more serious or abrasive than they really happened in real life (because we have to shout due to how loud it is in the bars), and my immediate transcription is just to get people *information*, which really doesn't convey tone.

For example, reporting that Glenn said "you don't want to know" in response to me asking for any teasers (as to plots this season) was met with a lot of "oh so this season is gonna suck" on Twitter, and that could not be further than the truth (sorry to the people I split-react blocked for saying that lol). In hindsight I get the reaction, because written out it's a response that can be easily misinterpreted and reads as potentially concerning, but know that when Glenn said "you don't want to know" he looked like this:

And when I was genuinely just asking for script information (regarding writers of individual scripts after he mentioned they had broken already) and mentioned Nina (Inflates) and Ross (DTAMHD), he gushed about both of them and then said, transcribed word for word, "It's been a good room, I'll say this it's been a great room. It's been an all-star room, it's been...like, breaking the stories this year has been really fun. [Me: Yeah?] Yeah. [That's great, that is great to hear.] It's been really fun."

So the idea of "no Glenn in the writers room" is really much more akin to Season 16 than 13/14. He was there to break stories (meaning he was in the room when they were brainstorming plot ideas and when they settled on which plots would be turned into scripts) but Rob and Charlie are taking the brunt of writing their (RCG's) scripts because of Sirens. This is the same thing that happened with The Gang Goes Bowling. Glenn's name is on the script, but Rob and Charlie wrote the majority of it while Glenn was shooting Blackberry. (I remember originally being convinced it was a mistake Glenn was listed as a writer for Bowling, lmfao). And Glenn is definitely still contributing, will be on revisions for the non-RCG scripts, and will classically change or improv whatever he thinks is best for Dennis when he's on set (see: the Risk E. Rats script).

Also, I know the crossover is concerning to a lot of people just given the nature of it, but as of what we know right now it's only on Abbott, so it's really just as if this season's The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell or The Janitor Always Mops Twice took place on a different show instead of ours...

I promise promise promise Glenn was clearly holding his tongue for good things coming up, and Friday night very much restored my confidence that Season 17 will be good. (But..if you don't think Glenn has good contributions to Sunny or understands the agenda, then sorry this response probably sucks lmfao)
