I had an idea for an au where Kon is a vampire and Tim is a vampire hunter and then I listened to Paparazzi by Lady Gaga on repeat for a month and a half and then I woke up and this existed

I MARRIED MY STALKER —more on page 4
Tim Drake x reader gn || part 1 || 1760 words
a/n: okay so some context, this is supposed to be an isekai’d reader. only been in this universe for a month but knows dc lore. also i wrote 90% of this literally 2 years ago lol i stay silly
Tumblr media
It was a strange situation. Laughable, in a twisted kinda way. You knew you had a stalker. You hear him follow you home every night after work. Or, well, morning technically. You get off that late.
You've never been one to write something off as paranoia. Especially now that you lived in Gotham. Especially especially since you lived in the Narrows. Like you're not stupid.
Whenever you would turn around, checking your surroundings, you wouldn’t find him. The footsteps weren't on the ground, you've elicited. He was up in the rooftops, doing parkour. Great.
You really hoped it wasn't a supervillain. Imagine that, you're given the miraculous opportunity to carve out a new life for yourself in a big city and you almost immediately get killed horrifically by a guy in a halloween costume before you even get a chance. Actually, with the way your luck goes, that checks out.
It was becoming increasingly clear the predator didn't just know your work schedule, either. When you'd go out for groceries, or to a diner, he’d often find you then too, following you around town. It was like he was studying your behavior patterns, which actually is pretty typical of a true old fashioned stalker, now that you think of it.
Even so. He never got any closer than he always did. Never actually attacking you. And eventually, you got used to his presence, thinking nothing of it when you heard the occasional scuff of boots against the concrete and metal of the city.
But the strangest thing happened as you shambled home from your second job tonight, eager to get on with your evening.
You see him.
Or, at least, you see his shadow. His form silhouetted against the wall, standing bold as he eclipsed the red glow coming from some sort of neon sign.
He doesn't move, as you stare at the shadow on the wall. Which strikes you as odd, if not terrifying, because you had gotten the vibe that this man knew what he was doing. It was like he wanted you to know he was there.
And you recognize the silhouette. That's Red fucking Robin.
You take a deep breath. You are relieved, truthfully. Even if it was clear he thought of you as some sort of target.. Or maybe he was protecting you from the real stalker, and the supervillain theory was truer than you'd hoped…
“I don't believe I have any information you would want,” you call out, trying to figure just what the hell he thinks he’s doing.
“That’s not necessarily true,” his voice is different than you expected.
“So like. You gonna beat the shit out of me or can we go up to my apartment and have this discussion over a pot of coffee?”
“I— I would never hurt you,” his calm and deep voice cracked for a second, like he couldn't believe what you just implied. You know as if he hadn't been stalking you almost the entire time you'd been in this goddamn city.
“So my place it is, then,” you confirmed.
“You’d invite a dangerous vigilante into your home?”
“Are you saying you don’t have the ability to ‘let yourself in’ at any time you please?”
“Well, no,”
“Then I don't see how me voluntarily letting you in is any less dangerous.”
And that's how you wound up in this situation, nervously pouring a mug of coffee for one of Gotham's infamous vigilantes.
You were glad that he for some reason took this softer route. As you recall, whenever a Bat wants to have a talk with someone they usually just appear in the shadows of their home or office, scaring the bejeebus out of them.
You couldn't completely tell, because of the mask, but you got the feeling he wasn't looking around. He'd already studied your apartment, most likely. His eyes were trained solely on you.
"Room for cream and sugar?" you ask. You know the answer. You're a barista in the daytime, and you've served a certain Wayne Ent. CEO more than a few times already. Which, now that he could be your stalker, makes sense. He was scoping you out. Great.
"No thanks. I prefer it black."
"Dark like you, right?"
He cracked the smallest of smiles as he took the mug from your hands, like he was holding back from outright grinning. Strange. That was a really lame and overdone joke. Maybe he doesn't get out much.
"I like it black too," you ran a hand through your hair,
"I know you’ve been following me around," he looked a little guilty at your accusation, "but I don’t know why. I haven’t done anything suspect—“
“I’m protecting you,” Tim butt in.
“I’m in danger?”
He shifted uncomfortably.
"…I can’t say that you aren’t.”
“Goddamnit," you set the mugs down on the table a little too aggressively, "So what am I looking at here? Joker? Poison Ivy? Condiment Man?”
Tim looked sheepish as you poured the coffee into the mugs. As much as he could with that mask, anyway. He grabbed a mug and took a long sip, swallowing loudly. Ah, it was a little too hot, but he was trying too much to act cool to let on to the fact he just burned himself. He let out a breath to cool off his tongue, but played it off as a sigh.
“I can’t tell you.”
You sighed deeply, yeah, that’s what you thought he’d say.
Well. As much as you didn’t like the sudden interruption of your new life, you had been wondering when you were going to be pulled into something like this. You knew it was inevitable, otherwise you wouldn’t be here.. Right? People don’t get sent to other dimensions for no reason, right? And besides, now that you’ve settled in, you’ve started to get bored.
"So what’s our game plan?” you asked as you took a sip. Ah, a little too hot.
“Game plan?”
“You know. The part where you’ve got an overly complicated plan to catch this criminal and you need my help as bait,”
He smiled at you, incredulous, “You’d want to be bait?”
“Not. Necessarily. No,” you took another sip to cover up your eagerness, “I just want to help,”
“Helping is my job, Sweetheart,” he took a long sip to look roguish, “you’re a civilian,”
“Yeah but,” you tried not to sound put down by his reluctance to let you into his world, “You— I… I’m interested in not being a civilian, if you know what I mean…”
Tim stared at you, trying to compute what you were asking of him. Feeling silly, you put up your dukes and mimed punching someone to make your point. It was really cute, actually. He grinned at you.
He did not expect.. this. He thought you’d be scared. He thought he could metaphorically take you to a scary movie just so you’d cuddle into him out of fright. He did not think your brain would’ve picked the ‘fight’ option out of ‘fight or flight’. Maybe he underestimated you. Miscalculated his moves. Albeit, this might be way more interesting…
“Train me,” you tried not to sound too desperate.
You held your breath, waiting for his answer.
Tim focused on the coffee, letting what you just said linger in the air. This was a dirt cheap brand of grounds, burnt and acidic. He’d have to get you some real coffee soon.
“Okay.”
You released the air in your lungs with one big huff. Hopefully your breath didn’t smell too bad, as you basically washed his face in it. Even a strand of his bangs fluttered. Real smooth, dumbass. But you quickly forgot that insecurity as your brain caught up with what he said.
“Really?”
“Yeah, really,”
“No interview or anything? Not that I can’t be trusted, but how would you know I can be trusted?” hey stupid, stop trying to talk him out of this.
“Well I already uh,” he coughed awkwardly, “I already know a lot about you,”
“Ah, yeah, you were stalking me, weren’t you?”
You had no idea what the fuck kinda info he could have considering you don’t really have a background to check in this universe, but okay.
Tim scratched the back of his neck, “Yeah.. Sorry about that. It was all for your safety, I promise,”
You giggled, “Thank you, Mr. Robin, I do feel safe now, knowing it was you,”
“Oh uh,” you could see a blush start peeking out from under his mask, “My pleasure— I mean uh, it’s my duty to you. —As you are a citizen of Gotham, I mean.”
“So when do we star—“
You were cut off by his communicator beeping. He put a hand up to some earpiece he had.
“On it. Be right there,” Tim told someone over the line.
He looked back at you guiltily. You waved your hand in a “it’s fine” gesture.
“Go be a hero Mr. Robin,” you stood to start taking the mugs to the sink.
He held up a finger to ask you for a second as he basically dumped the entire mug into his mouth and gulped it all down. He parted from the mug with a gasp of satisfaction, and you snickered as you finally took it from him.
He stood and brushed himself off while you busied yourself at the sink. You didn’t really worry about whether he was about to disappear into the night like he was never there in the first place. He’d be back. Watching you in the shadows like he had been every night you’d been here...
Did he know you weren’t ‘native’, so to speak? Maybe whatever trouble you’re in now is apart of how you got here in the first place. You’ll have to ask him later…
A hand found its place on your shoulder, and you turned around to him fumbling with his communicator with the other hand. You felt a buzz in your pocket.
“Here’s my number, I’ll text you later, okay?”
You noticed how he didn’t even go through the formality of asking you for your number. Guess we’re a little past pretending this is a normal interaction between two people who want to get to know each other better. You smiled at him as he started making his way to your door.
“Bye Mr. Robin,”
Chuckling at the nickname, he turned back one last time as he held the door, “Bye Y/n,” he grinned at you before making his disappearance back into the shadows of the night.

I've been thinking and I've come to the conclusion that it wouldn't make much sense for Bruce to neglect one of his children.
Think about it, in canon, most of the mistakes he made that ended up harming his family were either because he was completely buried in work, or because he was slightly manipulated, both by the narrative and by third parties.
In addition, he also cannot fully communicate with others, both because of his early trauma, the loss of his parents, and all the loneliness caused by the grief he went through growing up. Not to mention the years of self-discipline and training he went through to become Batman. From everything he's seen and experienced, and all the scars he has, I can't imagine how much that grief and and especially a sense of justice, survived.
so I don't think he would simply neglect one of his children
What I propose is; accidental negligence. Think about it, if he is busy all the time with both Batman and his other persona, Brucie Wayne, and then the justice league, investigations, meetings of Wayne Enterprise, galas, charities, other rich people, the usual rogues gallery of Gotham, etc, etc, I don't think he has much time to spend with anyone.
He is able to spend more time with his other children because they are all vigilantes, like him, and are usually just as busy as he is. Having a civilian child in the middle of this mess wouldn't do much good, especially if that child doesn't know what they do most of the time, like, y'know, vigilantlism.
Imagine everyone's absolute horror when they realize, after the p&f reader is unfortunately busted, that they paid so little attention to that child that she managed to do all these crazy things right under their noses for the whole summer. And who's to say she hadn't been doing this before this summer? How many things have they inevitably missed in her life?
What I mean is that to counter the p&f reader's luck, everyone in the batfam is unlucky enough not to be able to spend time with her. And they are aware of it.
Their guilt would be immense and the angst would be delicious.
(And it would explain how Damian hás time to spend with p&f reader, since he's a kid and his only obligations are school, socialization and being Robin, so he would technically have more time??? If that even makes sense???)
context &. context.
YOU!! YOU GET IT!!
i wholeheartedly agree!
not that "accidental" neglect is any better, it's neglect all the same and has negative consequences in so many levels. but when we're talking about Bruce Emotionally Constipated And Terrible At Communication and Could Sometimes Make Better Choices Regarding His Kids Wayne, it could absolutely happen.
i'm not one to make character analysis because i have very shallow knowledge of Batman lore, but...
like you said, all of Bruce's children participate in vigilantism. they're all extraordinary, most have horrible trauma, and have relied on him for guidance. they are all Robin, and more relatable to him, in a way. that means he's consequently more involved in their lives, more physically there engaging with them, forming an emotional bond, acting as a mentor and father figure. on top of that, like you said, he has a whole life as Bruce Wayne and Batman going on.
which brings us to neglected! Reader, more specifically mine: P&F! Reader and Vampire! Reader.
on a... financial, material level, I believe they wouldn't want for anything. Alfred is the one managing their bank account and making sure they're well-provided for and though it's fun for angst purposes, i don't think they would have a tiny little bedroom isolated from everyone in the manor, mostly because it's our favorite butler who would select which bedroom Bruce's child would be staying at in this gigantic mansion with plenty unocuppied rooms. Alfred would NOT put you in the broom closet. it would be a bedroom that's at least as big as Damian's in Son of Batman, for example.
(i more than understand suspension of disbelief and playing around with all sorts of interesting concepts and characters, so I'm not criticizing anyone!)
in fact, i think it's kinda worse that, say, you have a bedroom that's a wall across from Tim's and he still kinda forgets you exist.
also, i believe Bruce's kid would absolutely have access to a more than generous amount of money. not broke at all.
so the only type of neglect going on here is of the emotional kind. your father and your siblings have created tight-knit bonds amongst themselves based on their shared experiences and the proximity brought by them all working as vigilantes, and you're just not a part of the club.
timing is also relevant.
P&F! Reader arrives at the manor some time after Damian, which means that not only have all relationships been formed over the years, Bruce has also experienced having kids, as well as having a biological child suddenly enter his life. they're a fish out of the water, and their dad is kinda awkward about this (apparently) normal child that showed up at his doorstep. while Damian is still kind of adapting, running around at night trying to bypass Bruce's security system and solve dangerous cases by himself, P&F! Reader is in their bedroom having a virtual sleepover with their Metropolis friends, streaming movies and eating caramelized popcorn.
fun fact: Damian and P&F! Reader are neighbors. he was not happy about Alfred placing his half-sibling on the room right beside his for the longest time. P&F! Reader has definetly caught him sneaking out, but they're no snitch. and you're right, he does have more free time, and he's also on summer break so no school and no homework to worry about. He's got free time to be his sibling's keeper.
and as we all know, the impression that P&F! Reader is just a normal regular kid that totally doesn't build ridiculous thingamabobs in their spare time, it's kinda easy to forget they're there amidst the Wayne family mayhem(s). Bruce is also kinda doesn't really know what to do with this kid or how to connect with them, but they don't really demand immediate attention and seem to be doing fine – so he probably shouldn't worry too much, right?
you could also argue that he's kinda awkward (emotionally constipated) with this kid and is very bad at consoling and accomodating them after the trauma that made them have to move in with him. he doesn't straight up forget they exist, although he starts paying more attention to them after Damian gets more involved in ther bio sibling's antics. and when it comes to siblings, it's just easier for their relationship to never evolve past more superficial interactions (with the exception of Damian who decides to mind P&F! Reader's business earlier on, more or less). P&F! Reader doesn't know about the vigilantism for a long time, so it's natural that they're excluded from any and all matters regarding that. and because everyone else is so busy with their own lives and P&F! Reader seems to be doing fine, so easy to overlook, has plenty of friends in and out of their new school and the Batfam is already a formed unit... Well, you get the picture.
there's also the matter of Damian. he is the kid that "needs more attention" because of his background. he's been through a lot. nevermind the possibility that you might also have gone throguh your own fair share of trauma, at the end of the day you're the easier kid. the "okay" kid with regular problems. which is sad and unfair, but that's what we're here for, isn't it? and Dick is the biggest offender when it comes to that.
not that P&F! Reader is bothered by any of that! They have an amazing summer ahead of them. 😎 It's definetly Batfam being unlucky that prevents them from spending time with P&F! Reader, but that allowed them to mostly enjoy summer without being smothered by their family. the guilt would be unmatched, that is for sure.
"And who's to say she hadn't been doing this before this summer?"
hehe :)
vampire! Reader (she was not mentioned but I'm talking about her anyway, spoilers for the fic because i want to rant) is a different story. again, timing. she arrived at the manor sometime between Dick leaving for Bludhaven and Jason being brought in, so she didn't really get a chance to develop a deeper emotional connection with Dick. that also means Bruce was a lot younger when he is faced with a biological child being thrown at his door, not to mention the less-than-ideal-circumstances in which she came to be in his custody.
and after trying to make her his newest sidekick didn't work, in the coming years he would dedicate most of his time to fighting crime as Batman and taking care of/mentoring Jason who had a rough past and is now his new sidekick. connecting and relating to Jason was easier than connecting with Vampire! Reader, but he always made sure to check on her and make sure she was okay (and the answer was always yes, because of course it was).
during this time Jason and Vampire! Reader were actually pretty close, but then he, uh. kinda died horrifically. so not only was Vampire! Reader dealing with the loss of her brother, her father was now full-on neglecting her, self-absorbed in his grief, so she felt the proper thing to do would be repress her emotions to accomodate her father and try to be his emotional support. not that it worked, but she was there! so we have the emotional neglect and we have Vampire! Reader starting to take a parental role for her own father because he's not being a parent for her. she was also completely alone in that huge manor with the exception of Alfred because none of the other kids were in the picture yet, and Dick had long since moved out. as you can see, not very nice :)
from then on she just kinda blends into the background. financially she's provided for. she is her father's daughter, so communication and expressing emotion are not her forté, but she tries her best to connect with the incoming batkids. it does not work. i have said this before, but she is the mature child, the (again) normal one who puts other people's needs before her, so she doesn't complain when Bruce makes time for literally every other kid who becomes Robin except her. but don't be mistaken: Bruce is definetly more controlling and aware of Vampire! Reader in comparison to P&F! Reader due to reasons (guess you can say early yandere signs?). Jason too is... Sort of complicated. the situation here is definetly darker and resonates with tone of the story better. and when Bruce realizes how terrible he was? oh, boy.
so I guess you can play around a lot with the neglectful! Reader trope, and that's what makes it so entertaining. yeah. that's all I have to say for today, I guess??

I'm back with a part 4 if you want to do it it's kind of more of a crack write I just need Klarion trying to explain the family tree
But not explaining how he was made at all So Young Justice and the Justice League are now convinced that a the Ghost King was a teenage parent who is now 27 years old and just passed college with a degree in astronomy and machinery
Klarion's other parent is a a crazy fruit loop 64 year old millionaire who went to college with Klarion's Mom parents who had an emotionally unhealthy obsession with his mom's mother and then it passed on to his mom.
And he has an older sister who is technicality a clone of his mom but also has the bastards DNA so fundamentally making Ellie Vlad Master and Mom's first born kid but there's six other siblings that Klarion had that died back a while back but Mom got granddad who's apparently the time lord AKA Cronos which is a whole another long story to go back in time and save those kids get them fixed up and now Klarion technicality has seven older siblings which all do their own things
And then he starts mentioning his uncle who is a 9 ft yeti his technicality auntie who is a medieval ghost princess who can turn into a dragon his auntie Pandora and his his grandfather cronos
My names for the six other clone children are Donald (he/him), Cecelia (they/she), Bartholomew(Them/They), Kyle AKA Bite(He/It), Brutus(He/They), and then there's Danna (She/Her) who actually really like the name Dan and asked Klarion if could have it when Klarion changed his name
Sorry if this is a little bit too much I've just really been thinking about au for this after the last part you made I hope this helps you with your writing or at least makes you laugh but I really love the idea of Danny's AKA somewhat clone children and finding their own personalities and and fighting themselves out of just being failed clone of their mom also I love the idea of Danny going back in time to save the rest of the clone kids cuz now he's a mature adult who wants to save their lives and wants them to grow into their own people.
(≧▽≦)
I probably did way to much research into all the fandoms I am in to see what I could tie into this... And yet this feels shorter than it should but I also currently lack the time to add more. But for now I hope this will be satisfactorily.
Also this family tree idea especially the part of saving the melted clones. LOVE IT!
So even though it took me a while! here is Part 4 you inspired! Thanks so much for the ask!
------------------
"Dude, you are making us only curious!" Impulse spoke up as he sat down next to Klarion who had his head in his hands. "Like you and your mom can't just drop your family lore like that!"
The witch boy on the other hand looked up with narrowed eyes at the speedster. "What lore?"
"Let's see, the part that apparently a Vlad tried to kill your Grandpa to make friends several time. That your mom is 'ghost' adopted by the lord of time Cronos and Pandora, which makes us family too by the way, and that you have a sister that apparently is even crazier than what we got to know of your family so far." Wonder Girl counted off her fingers next to him grinning as she mentioned the part of probably being a part of his 'crazy' family too. Which hell yea, that sounded like a lot of fun to be explored she would have to talk with Wonder Woman about that as soon as possible.
"Also..." Red Robin added as he flipped through the photo album that apparently no one remembered he had. He was turning it around and pointed at a particular photo with a wild bunch of people in it that varied between more human and well... less humanoid people. One of them definitely was a Yeti and there was also what looked like living armor as well as Teekly (they knew that demon cat at least), a giant green dog and for some reasons there was a green aggressive looking Octopus in the background too. "...how are you related to a Yeti?"
"Hey that man there and those other teens in the picture actually have some resembles with you! Do you have older brothers too?" Superboy additionally asked as he moved around Red Robin to see the photo better pointing at a man that appeared to be in this late twenties, blue eyed, black haired and a little on the buffer side. If he didn't know any better and the fact that he should keep his mouth shut about their actual identities he would have jokingly asked Red Robin if his family would like to add more kids considering Klarions family apparently had a bunch of black haired blue eyed members too, judging by the photo at least.
"What are you talking about. That man is my mom and yes the others are actually my older brothers and that Yeti is uncle Frostbite who also happens to be the best medic in the Infinite Realms" The four teen heroes looked stunned at the picture and then back at the Ghost King that was smiling at them, still seated by the dinner table with their mentors. Who by the way were now perking up at the change of topic and the information they could gain with it, well Wonder Woman was more interested in the apparently extended family she had.
"Oh I remember we took this photo last year, it was such a hassle to get everyone into one place with them all being busy doing their own things." Danny mused for a moment, remembering fondly how he had to literally drag some of the kids home through a portal.
"It was more annoying than anything too since I was declared to be the youngest...." Klarion muttered also remembering that day not as fondly as his mother.
"Wait, wait, wait! That is a picture of your family? I need an explanation buddy!" Impulse cut in without shame, quickly removing the picture from the photo album to get a better look at it before holding it out to Klarion so he could explain all the individuals. "Plus why does your mom look soooo.... human?"
The witch boy on the other hand stared at him for a couple of seconds before looking over towards his mother as if waiting for something. After a moment the teen heroes as well as their mentors saw Danny nod with a little smile. "This dimension doesn't have the GIW so its fine, the Justice League Dark won't be a problem either, right?." Constantine flinched at the smile the Ghost King was giving him, muttering something under his breath as he had hoped his presence had been forgotten.
"Since mom is giving his okay...." Klarion mutter sitting crosslegged on the ground as he snatched the photo album from Red Robin and flipped through it. "Lets start with the easiest stuff to explain."
Danny chuckled noticing that not only the teen heroes but their mentors as well showed an interest. He choose to stay quiet letting the adults listen in on the kids, and if things went bad he would just ask Clockwork if they could revert time back to this moment and he would change his nod of permission to a shake of denial.
"Okay first of, this is my mom and his sister Jasmine, this is Danielle my older sister and that hulk with flaming white hair and blueish skin is me. That was before I got deaged because of destabilising." Klarion explained flipping to a photo of him, Danny, Jazz and Danielle. "Mom was around fifteen, Aunt Jazz about seventeen and Ellie should have been about a year old but she was aged up to twelve. They look human in this one because well they are. Mom was originally human and became what you call in this dimension a Meta through an accident."
"Wait... that would mean your mom... How could he have two kids at that age of fourteen? You look like an adult and your sister was aged up?" Wonder Girl couldn't help but ask as she looked from the photo and back to Danny at the dinner table again.
"That's cause Vlad was a fu-"
"Language Klarion!"
"Vlad was a fruitloop. That photo was taken shortly after Vlad and I sort of redeemed our selfs. Plus, mom didn't really have my sister and me willingly.... we were kind of forced upon him in a way." Klarion explained shrugging. "Old Man Vlad had an obsession with his mom that then turned on mom, which resulted in my oldest sister Danielle first. Actually, a lot of my elder siblings resulted from that, but they didn't survive it the first time, Mom got Old Man Clocks help to save them once he got used to being the Ghost King. I got added to the mix shortly after my sister, but... i wasn't in the best state of mind at first, kind of went through a redemption phase in which mom had to fix the timeline of our original home dimension, too."
Danny chuckled again at the disturbed looks the teens were giving his son as well as the looks their mentors sent him. He probably should correct Klarion's wording... but being one of the gremlins of his family he just smiled on, not commenting. He really understands now why Pops Clockwork liked watching the chaos he used to cause as teen, and still sometimes causes as adult.
"Klarion... how old is this Old Man Vlad?" Red Robin asked grimacing as his eyes under the mask flicked up to the Ghost King and then back to the witch boy both seemingly unbothered by the disturbing information they were sharing.
"In human years... probably around 67? You stop counting age at some point if your a halfa." Klarion shrugged, not noticing the grimaces of the teens around him. "Anyway, Ellie is sort of the first born. I came in after that, with my core being a mix of Mom and Vlad. Not DNA wise though since I came to be because of their ghost cores. That's why I look like that in this photo. Though human DNA wise I am probably now mostly Moms, we never bothered to ask the old man."
Danny muffled another chuckle, coughing as Superman sent him an incredulous look of shook while he felt Batmans burning gaze on him.
"You... mentioned more siblings?" Red Robin asked carefully sharing a look with his team, feeling like there was a whole lot of trauma in Klarions family he wasn't sure they should address or not. So asking after his siblings was probably, hopefully the safest option. They didn't know that while there was trauma in the witch boy's family it was not the kind they were imagining.
"Yea I got a bunch more brothers, Vlad was a evil crazy fuitloop, before he redeemed himself. They all kind of melted in one timeline but mom and Grandpa Clock found a way to save them." Klarion nodded flipping to another photo containing him, as he looked now, and all his siblings.
"So, Ellie you know about already. The one with the sunglasses and died hair is Bartholomew, second oldest. They made themselves a home in other dimension, barely at home cause he has to much fun messing with something called a 'Starstream' by being a 'Constellation' and throwing gold coins at 'Incarnations'. Don't ask me what that means, I barely pay attention when he gushes about his favorit 'Incarnation'. They spent like all their money and pocket money there. Aunt Jazz thinks he might develop a gambling addiction if we don't stop his spendings." The teen heroes eyed the teen that looked like a young adult grinning in the photo as the witch boy pointed at the one next to them. "The one with the vile is my elder brother Bite, most responsible one of this bunch. Mom even allowed him to take care of a couple of dimensions by taking the role of being their God of Death. I think he messed them up more than helped but he is doing a somewhat good job, even if he is sort of obsessed with making some red head his saint or something..."
"One of your sibs is a God?" Impulse gabbed and Klarion just blinked at him with a shrug. "My Grandfather is the ruler of Time, your point is? Wonder Girl is also related to a God of your dimension."
"Never mind him, moving on." A yelp resounded as Superboy pushed Impulse head down leaning in more to see the photo better. "You got one emo looking brother there!"
"Oh that's Yamikumo, he is like a year or two older than me right now, in human years. He barely got any of mom's powers so he choose to try to life a somewhat normal life but weirdly enough he choose a dimension that is ruled by people who have powers and abilities, you know like the Meta Humans of this dimension. Now that I think about it, he is also the only one who actually is studying on how to be a Hero."
"Do you end up fighting with him if he studies to be a hero?" Wonder Girl whisper asked him with a quick glance towards their mentors, to which Klarion shook his head. "As long as we leave the dimensions one of us choose to live in alone we usually don't fight about stuff like that, aside from the usual sibling fights that is. Then again I do have some siblings that like to make bets like who is better at ruling as demon lord, or who can safe a dying timeline quicker."
Danny chuckled again as he watched the kids, Klarion had definitely caused some misunderstandings with his wording. Then again it wasn't like Klarion said anything that wasn't true, but then again his son loved chaos. So there was a suspicion that Klarion intentionally choose the way he worded the explanation about how he and Ellie came to be as well as the rest of siblings.
"So....." Superman slowly started wondering how he should bring up the topic. "...you became a mom at 14?"
"Say Danny is there a way for me to meet this Vlad? You know since we are family." Wonder Woman also asked smiling in a certain way that reminded Danny of Valerie when she was mad but didn't want to show right away how mad she was, to which the Ghost King on reflex could do nothing but gulp for a moment. Not noticing that a green post it note appeared on the table before him.

Ok so idk how many people know Anita Jean/Jenny Wren as a character, shes a pretty new retcon, but basically shes the retconned First Child Sidekick of Batman, who died.
So, what if the batkids find out she exists when Batman's hit by a truth spell? Like, they've all gathered around him to see who his favourite robin is, to finally answer once and for all.
And he just goes "Jenny"
And their like "FUCKING WHO-"
So naturally they all turn to Dick, bc he knows all of the early Batyears lore, including the very brief existence of Batboy and the technically-first female robin. But even he doesnt know who the fuck Jenny is.
Many hours later, when the spell fades and they get to ask him about it, he reveals shes been dead for some twenty years, and Jason's just like "i wasnt even the first dead robin???"
And Bruce, with no explanation, goes, "no, you were the third."
Cue Dick having to explain how Lance Bruner died. Jason is pissed.

May, Six Years Ago (four months before the arrest)
Bee:
“Tweety!” Eddie calls you from the end of the hallway, and you wave letting him know you’ve heard him. You take your English notebook from your locker, tossing it into your stuffed backpack. It’s the Friday before finals, the last of your high school career. Unfortunately, you don’t have that same hope for Eddie, who hasn’t once shown the motivation to even try at all in his classes this year.
“Hey,” He leans against the lockers next to yours. Much to your dismay, he’s not even carrying a textbook, let alone his backpack. “You ready?” It’s the end of the day, technically, but the bell has yet to ring signaling the official end of the day.
“Yeah. Where’s your stuff?”
“Ah, probably left it in Hellfire. Dustin can grab it for me.” Like it’s nothing. “You got plans tonight?”
“I’m hitting the library later with Robin, our English final is Monday.” You hoist your backpack onto your shoulder and follow Eddie out to his van. “You could come with us. I know for a fact you haven’t even looked at the book since it was assigned a month ago.”
“Aw, Tweety. It’s like you know me or somethin’.” Eddie jests, nudging your shoulder with his. “I already got stuff planned, though. Chris and I are gonna hit up the shop, see what we can see. You should come.”
“I have no desire to follow you both down the road of misdemeanors, believe it or not. Have fun, though. Don’t let Chris get you in more trouble than he’s worth.” You tug on the passenger door of his van while Eddie loops around to the driver’s side.
“Not sure I can make any promises.” Eddie throws the car into drive, and peels out of the Hawkins High student lot.
Eddie:
He watches as you hop out of his van, and up the walkway to her house. Once you’re safely inside, he skirts off the curb, tires screeching as he makes his way to the body shop.
“Ed!” Chris approaches him, wiping the motor oil from his hands with a goofy grin slapped on his face. “You’re never gonna believe what came in, man.” He motions Eddie into the shop, presenting him with the most beautiful machine ever to grace his presence.
“No fuckin’ way.” He has to resist the urge to slide his hands across the hood. “Whose beauty is this?”
“That’s the best part. It’s Carver’s.”
Though Chris’s eyes are gleaming with a mad sort of eagerness, Eddie feels his heart skip. “Oh, dude, I don’t think I can go in on that with you.”
“C’mon, Ed. It is a ‘64 cherry red convertible. How’re you gonna pass this up?”
“It’s the chief of police’s car, Chris.”
“That’s just a bonus.”
Eddie pinches the bridge of his nose. “Let me sit on it, man. I gotta go, though. You comin’?”
“Yeah, gotta clock out. What’s the rush?”
“Got invited to a study date, it’s rude to show up late.” He wrings his hands, fidgeting with the metal on his fingers.
“A date, huh? Who’s the lucky lady? Or man, I don’t judge.”
“I’m not answering that.”
“So I know them, then. Guess I’m comin’ with ya.”
“Chris. Please, just. Let me have this.”
“Lemme think…. Nope!” He tosses the oil stained rag onto the workbench and grabs his duffel. “Cmon, Munson, you’ve got studying to do.”
Bee:
You and Robin have been studying the symbolism of every single book you’d read in class this year for three hours.
“I’m tired of this, Robin!” You groan, head in your notebook.
“Well, that’s too damn bad!” Robin slaps your arm with her deck of flashcards. “Now, why is it important to note the lack of authority in Lord of the Flies?”
Before you can muster up the strength to answer, there’s a cacophony of laughter bursting in through the door, followed by a fed up Mrs. Beasly shushing them to no avail.
“There she is!” Eddie and Chris stroll through the tables full of miserable high school seniors, over to where you and Robin sit in the corner, surrounded by books, note paper, and highlighters of every color.
“Shh!” You and Robin both spit at the boys as they drag empty seats out from the table, Eddie flopping down next to you while Chris sits across from Robin.
“Sorry!” Eddie whispers, holding his hands up in surrender. “Figured you’d been here long enough, we came to rescue you.”
“We’ll have you know, dingus, that neither Bee nor I need rescuing from you.” Robin bites, flipping a notebook page so hard it rips. “Shit.”
“Of course, you don’t need it, but we figure you might want it anyway.” Chris refutes, snatching her notebook out of her reach.
“Come on, some of us actually care about graduating!”
“Ouch, Rob.” Eddie clutches his chest in mock offense. “Didn’t know you were so elitist about grades.”
“She’s not elitist, she’s just a nerd.” Chris teases, and Robin’s face goes red with frustration.
“Can you both just leave? Please?” You shove Eddie away from you for emphasis. “We’ll be out in an hour. Just give us that, okay?”
“Ugh, fine! But we’ll be coming for you in exactly sixty minutes. Be ready.” Chris gets up, and looks to Eddie. “C’mon, man.”
“Right, one sec.” Eddie looks back to you. “You promise you’ll come out?”
You nod. “If you leave right now, I will come out with you tonight.”
He holds out his pinky, and you hook it with your own. Finally, he gets up, and follows Chris out of the library.
“Such a pain in the fuckin’ ass.” Robin mumbles, and you snicker.
Eddie:
Before he can think better of it, Eddie shoves Chris harder than necessary. “What the fuck, man?”
“What? That obviously wasn’t a date, that was my sister and her weird friend. I saved you from hours of unnecessary boredom! And, they’re gonna come out tonight.”
“Y’know, I am more than capable of making my own decisions about my own free time.”
“Clearly, that’s not true. Now, c’mon, we gotta go get the keg for tonight.”
“How are you gonna get the keg if you’re with me? I’m not twenty-one, remember?”
“Maybe not, but you’ve got two extra arms I could use. Stay in the car, I’ll get it. You’re just gonna have to help me put it in the trunk.”
“Fuck you, dude. You’re gonna be the reason she never talks to me again one of these days.”
“Nah, I’m pretty sure you can fuck that up all on your own.”
Bee:
You wish, desperately, that you hadn’t agreed to come out. The party is out at Lover’s Lake, and seems to be populated with every single delinquent in Hawkins. Unfortunately for you, this means your brother and Eddie are the center of attention.
“Hey! You made it!” Chris approaches, red solo cup in hand with Eddie in tow. “You guys wanna drink?”
“Absolutely!” Robin snatches the empty cup from Chris. Before he can argue, he’s being pulled in another direction by one of his cronies, leaving you alone with Eddie.
“How’d you get stuck as the designated driver?” He matches your stride, falling into step as you follow Robin to the keg.
“Didn’t really feel like waking up with a hangover tomorrow.” You shrug, taking a sip from the water bottle you’d brought with you. Eddie rolls his eyes. “What?”
“It’s senior year, Tweet. You gotta live a little bit.” He takes a swig of his drink and belches. You wrinkle your nose at the display.
“I can live all I want when I get out of this Hellhole. So can you, Ed. You’re not like my brother, you don’t have to be stuck here forever.” You hadn’t meant to sound so distraught, but the crack in your voice makes you wince.
“Chris isn’t stuck, Bee. He’s here because he wants to be. There’s nothing wrong with that, either.”
It’s unbelievable how naive he is. “Why are you defending him? My brother’s a loser, Ed. You know it, too. I don’t get why you like him so much.”
“Can we stop talking about this for a second, please?” Eddie has raised his walls up, not willing to talk about anything that matters. “Just, try to have some fun, okay? For once?”
“Fine.” You snatch his drink from him, and gulp the rest of the lukewarm beer down your throat. “Fun enough for ya?” And before he can respond, you’re stomping off, into the woods, alone, only to stop to refill the cup.
“Tweety?!” You hear him before you see him, footsteps getting louder as Eddie ultimately finds you at the picnic table, about a mile away from the party. You’ve downed your second drink, and the trees around you seem to wiggle in the settling sun. You giggle to yourself, shaking with them.
“Christ, Bee. You’re lucky it’s just me, you could be killed out here alone.” Eddie hikes up the incline, and sits across from you at the splintering table, now a home for the spiders and ants more than a place to sit. “You okay?”
“I’m great!” You say, definitely not great, but excessively intoxicated. You’re not used to drinking, so clearly you haven’t discovered your tolerance. Apparently, it’s pretty low.
“Right, and I’m definitely buying that. What’s wrong?” He sounds like he cares, but you and Eddie haven’t been close in a long time, so you’re not sure you can trust your judgment of him right now.
“Well, I’m wasted.” You avert his gaze, talking to your hands. “So don’t expect me to be gentle with you.”
“Wouldn’t have it any other day, sweets.”
“My brother sucks. He sucks so badly. And I love him, seriously.” Words are falling out of your mouth before you can think. “His heart is so big and he is so kind, but he is such a reckless person, Ed.” Eddie only stares at you, unblinking while you ramble on. “He’s careless when it comes to his safety. He looks for trouble. I don’t want you going down that path.” You have to press your lips together between sentences to keep from bursting into tears. “I can’t watch you throw your life away.”
“I can take care of myself.” He defends, crossing his arms over his chest, brow furrowed.
“I didn’t say you couldn’t. You know I’m right, Ed. If you feel like hanging out with my moronic brother is the right thing for you, then that’s your choice. But you can’t blame me when all of it finally catches up to you. You can’t expect me to throw my life away, too.”
“Is this because of the library? Look, I wanted to come alone, but–”
“No,” You interrupt, shaking your head. “This isn’t about anything you did. I just know my brother. I know he loves you more than me, and it hurts like hell but I can’t do anything about it.” You’re not even sure you’re making sense, and Eddie isn’t giving you anything to work with. “I know he took my best friend from me, and he doesn’t see any issues with that. So now I’m here in the middle of the woods too drunk to tell that best friend that I am terrified of losing him.” Your voice cracks, and your resolve breaks. You catch your head in your hands as the tears begin to fall.
“Oh, Bee,” Eddie stands from his seat across from you, rushing to your side and wrapping his arms around you. “I’m not goin’ anywhere. You are still my best friend. The most important person in my whole entire universe, okay?” He kisses the crown of your head and pulls you closer, rubbing soothing circles as you cry into his chest while the crickets chirp in the trees.
Eddie:
“Go to prom with me.” It’s Monday, and you’ve just finished your first final of the week. You close your locker to see Eddie standing on the other side of it, a small bouquet of white daisies clutched in his shaking hand. He’s wearing a button down black shirt, and his hair is far tamer than usual. “Will ya?”
“What the hell are you doing?” You lean against the lockers, arms crossed with distrust. “Weren’t you the one that said prom was a scam? Built by ‘the man’ to trick kids into thinking we’re destined to have a perfect, fairytale night?”
Eddie only shrugs. “Maybe I am not immune to propaganda.”
“Why are you asking me? After all that shit I said on Friday, I figured I wouldn’t hear from you until you needed me to bail you out of jail.” It’s a mean joke, but you’re too upset to take it back.
“You wound me.” Eddie pouts, offering the flowers to you. “But if there’s anyone I’d want to spend a miserable night making fun of everyone’s attire and the choice of music with, it’s you.” He gives you a half smile that never fails to make your stomach flutter.
“Fine. I will go to prom with you. On one condition.”
“Anything you want.” His smile widens.
“You have to participate. No moping, no pranks, no bullshit. You have to lean into the fairytale. Just for one night.”
He groans dramatically, but ultimately decides against arguing with you. “Okay, fine. Deal.” Once again, he offers out his pinky, and you take it with yours.
“Deal.”
Bee:
You’re staring at yourself in the mirror like it’s your job. You’ve been dressed for two hours, with your hair and makeup done as you pace around your bedroom, riddled with anxiety.
“Can’t believe you convinced Munson to take you to prom.” Chris sits on your bed next to Robin, arms crossed as he watches you pace. “You must’ve hexed him or something.”
“Eddie used to like fun, believe it or not.” Robin spits, getting up to stop you from creating a literal rut in your floor. If anyone’s more sick of Chris than you, it’s Rob.
“He likes fun! Just, a different kind of fun.” Chris chuckles, swinging his legs up onto your bed in Robin’s spot. “You might like it, Bee. You too, Rob.” You roll your eyes, ignoring your brother’s instigation when the doorbell rings.
“I’ll get it!” Robin scurries out of the room, leaving you alone with your brother.
“You need to leave Eddie the fuck alone.” You look at Chris behind you in the mirror, and his eyes widen. “You’re gonna get him in fucking trouble, more than you already have.” You adjust the strap of your dress for the seventh time.
“He’s a man, Bee. He can make his own decisions.”
“And he’ll keep choosing you.” You turn abruptly to face him, to look him in the eye as you release your anger. “Because he looks up to you, for some reason completely unbeknownst to me. You’ve got him by the balls, and I need you to give my my fucking friend back.” You put as much venom behind your words as you can muster without ruining your lipstick.
“I have absolutely no control over Eddie. He just likes me more than you. That’s why he hasn’t fuckin’ shown up yet.” You glance at your phone, and the time reads 7:45. He’s late, and you haven’t gotten a single text from him.
“He’ll be here.” You mumble. “You, however, can get the fuck out.”
“Right, sure.” With that, Chris exits your room, and slams the door to his own. Robin returns with Steve, decked out in a slick black tux, next to her.
“Sorry, I know I’m not the one you were hoping for.” Steve says sheepishly, but you wave it off.
“No, but it’s just as nice to see you, Stevie.” You wrap your arms around him, and he hugs you close. “You look really good.”
“And you both look stunning. Can’t believe I’m taking the coolest girls to prom!”
“Hey, you’re taking me. Bee has her own date.”
“Right, I forgot. Where is Prince Charming, by the way?”
You shake your head. “Pretty sure he stood me up.”
“No he fuckin’ didn’t.” Steve frowns at you. “He’d be the biggest imbecile in the world.”
You shrug. “Stranger things have happened.”
Eddie:
He’s been staring at himself in the mirror for the last hour. His navy blue suit is too small, jacket tight around his arms, cuffs not reaching his wrists. He feels stupid, and he’s certain he’ll look just as such standing next to you in a pretty dress. Everything feels wrong, he’s sweating, and he can’t convince himself to leave the house. The corsage he’d bought for you taunts him from his desk top.
He’d also gotten the news today that he wouldn’t be graduating this year. He failed three of his six finals, and had to repeat his senior year. Needless to say, he was not in the mood to party.
“Ed?” Wayne calls from the kitchen. “You almost ready? It’s impolite to keep your date waiting!”
“Wayne, I don’t think I can go.” Eddie mumbles, but Wayne still hears it because his footsteps are already approaching.
“What the hell do you mean?” He stands there, arms crossed in the doorway to Eddie’s room. “You said you had a date and everything!”
“Maybe I lied.”
“Why would you lie?”
“To not seem like such a goddamn loser! This suit is not helping with that, though.” He stretches his arms out in front of him, causing the sleeves to ride up higher on his arms. “I’ll just disappoint her anyway.”
“Then that’s her loss, son. Whoever this girl is, she’d be lucky to go to prom with you.”
“I don’t think you’d be saying that if you knew who I’m supposed to be taking. Which is why I will not be sharing that information.”
Wayne frowns. “Are you sure you don’t wanna go?”
Eddie sighs, flopping down on his bed. “I can’t. She’s gonna be so mad at me, but I can’t do it.”
“You’re gonna have to make it up to her, then.” Wayne motions for Eddie to get up, and he does. Wrapping his arms around his nephew, he says, “I’m sure she’ll understand, but you should call her.”
Bee:
“Bee, please!” The knocking has become insistent. “I’m so sorry, please let me explain!” You’d gone to prom alone. Well, with Rob and Steve. You’d been lucky enough to have fun, despite the ache in your heart every single time a slower song would play. You’d had no one to laugh at the jocks with, no one to pretend to be miserable with. No slow dance partner. Eddie has now been standing outside your house for three hours, wearing a suit a size too small, wilted flowers in his fist.
“Go away!” You shout from your bedroom window. You’re still in pajamas, the makeup from last night smeared on your cheeks from crying yourself to sleep. “You promised me, Eddie! I have nothing to fucking say to you.”
“I’ll stand out here ’til you run away to school, baby. You can’t get rid of me.”
“I will literally call the fuckin’ cops.” You practically spit out your window. “Go home.”
“Call ‘em! I’m not goin’ anywhere until you talk to me!”
You groan, slamming your window closed before rolling back into bed, face shoved in your pillow.
Eddie:
He’s about to give up when your front door opens. It’s not you he’s met with though, just your brother with a sour look on his face.
“What the hell are you doing?”
“Trying to apologize to your sister.” Eddie fiddles with his hands. “How mad is she?”
“She’s pretty pissed, man. Probably for the better, though. Not like you’d wanna be there anyway.”
Eddie sighs, climbing into the van and slamming his door. “That’s the thing, Chris. I did want to be there. With her. And I fucked it all up.” He cranks the radio down as he speaks, the sappy love ballad fading into background noise.
“She’ll forgive you, man. You guys are best friends, there’s no way she’d hold that grudge.”
Eddie shrugs sadly. “I don’t think I can take your word for it.”
Chris walks around the van, hopping into the passenger seat before Eddie can object. “Okay, so don’t. Let’s go blow off some of this steam. But first, maybe change you out of this ridiculous attire?”
Despite himself, Eddie chuckles, throwing his van into drive and peeling out of your driveway, taking one last look at your closed bedroom window.
It’s been a week, and Eddie hasn’t made another move to contact you. He’s stared at his messages between you, wondering what he could even say to fix all of this.
He types and deletes:
> can we talk?
“Ed?” Robin approaches him in the hallway on the last day of school. “Good to know you’re alive. You doin’ alright?” Her kindness is unexpected.
“No, not really. I have to repeat my senior year.” He hands her the slip with the news on it, after finding it in the back of his notebook.
“Shit, Eddie. That blows, I’m so sorry.” She takes the sheet from him to skim it. “They couldn’t even offer you summer classes?”
He shakes his head. “Apparently they are ‘not confident a retest would make a difference.’” He snatches the paper back, crumpling it before tossing it into his mess of a locker. “On the bright side, though, I have no reason to clean this out.” He slams the locker door before turning back to Robin. “Don’t tell Bee, okay?”
“She’s gonna find out when you’re not walking at graduation. Or Chris will be the one to tell her, and I don’t see how that’s a better option.”
“I’ll tell her, I just need some time. She hasn’t even looked at me since prom.”
Robin stops walking.“What happened there, by the way? She was really excited to go with you.”
He sighs, staring at his shoes. “I’m a coward. I freaked out, and I couldn’t bring myself to even explain it to her. It’s probably for the best, though. She deserves way more than I can give her.”
“Are you in love with her?”
The question startles him. “What?”
“Are you in love with Bee, Eddie?”
“I– where did that come from?”
“Well, you asked her to prom for one thing.”
“As a friend!”
“Right, totally. You two are the most platonic people I’ve ever met. That was proven by the way she acted when you stood her up.”
“How did she… what do you mean?”
She sighs. “You can’t tell her I told you, but she was distraught. She hid it really well, but I could tell she missed you. Every time there was a slow song, and especially when they announced the court. It broke my heart to watch her mope.”
“She’s never gonna forgive me, is she?”
She shrugs. “You won’t know until you try.”
Eddie shakes his head, confused. “Why would she?”
“Because, dingus, she loves you. You’re her best friend. As much as I’ve been fighting for the title these last four years, you’ve earned it, until recently. She feels like she’s losing you. I shouldn’t be telling you any of this, but I’m getting tired of you two tiptoeing around each other.”
It stops him, cold. He’s been distant, he knows that. Mostly because he’d been trying to suffocate the less-than-platonic feelings he’d developed for you since high school started, but also because of your own brother. He’d been swept up in Chris’s chaos, leaving no room for the relief, the calm, you’d brought to him. His eyes stung, the more he thought about it. “Now go fix it, dummy!” Robin shoves him playfully, but still hard enough to make him stumble. “You gotta go tell her something. Clean up this mess you’ve made, yeah?”
Eddie nods, backing away from her, down the hall. “Yes, ma’am.”
“Tell her to call me when she gets home!”
Eddie scoffs before turning heel and jogging down the hall, off to find you.
Bee:
“Can we talk?” Eddie’s voice makes you jump.
“I have nothing to say to you, Eddie.” You’re about to leave Hawkins High for the last time, but you don’t have that sense of excitement you thought you would. You feel empty, and a little lonely.
“Okay, fine. I’ll talk, I just need you to listen to me.” If not for the break in his voice, maybe you could have resisted his begging. “Just let me explain.”
“Fine.” You turn to face him, immediately wishing you hadn’t. His eyes are wet and puffy, like he’d spent the last day of school hiding in the janitor’s closet crying. He leads you to his van, parked in the back of the senior lot, away from everyone else. He opens the back doors, making room for you to sit next to him amongst the old blankets in his trunk.
“First, I wanna apologize. I am so goddamn sorry about prom, I know nothing I say will be enough of a reason to earn your forgiveness.” You don’t say anything, just twiddle your thumbs in your lap, waiting for him to continue. “I got told that day that I failed senior year. I’m being held back.”
That makes you look at him, your heart sinking. “What?”
“Yeah. Looks like I really am gonna get stuck in Hawkins.”
You shake your head. “No, you won’t. You’ll be okay, Eddie.”
“Not without you, I won’t be. You’re goin’ to New York, right? So I’ve got, like, three months left before you forget about my existence?” He sounds so broken when he speaks, each word a stab to your heart. “And I guess maybe that’s another reason, subconsciously, that I bailed. That was supposed to be our last night as Hawkins High students and instead it was a reminder that I’m getting left behind.”
You twist your body towards him. “Just because I’m leaving the state doesn’t mean I’m leaving you. You are always gonna be a part of my life.”
“Even after I stood you up?” He looks at you with big, hopeful eyes. “Because I’d understand if that was a deal breaker.”
You shake your head. “It’ll take a lot more than standing me up to get rid of me. I just wish you’d called or something.”
“I know. I’m so sorry, I should have.”
You scoot closer to him, wrapping your arms around his midsection, causing him to stiffen slightly before relaxing into your touch. “You are my best friend, regardless. You’re gonna be okay. I’ll be home during the holidays, and I’ll call you to help you study. You can come out to visit me on weekends, if you want. Tons of pretty college girls and boys to make you swoon.”
Eddie chuckles sadly, wrapping his arms around you. “I love you, Bee.”
“I love you too, Ed. Let’s go home.”
Eddie:
He’d meant it. In every sense of the term, he loves you. He’s not sure you’ll interpret it that way, but for now saying it feels like enough. You’re sitting next to him on the couch of his trailer, shoulder to shoulder as the TV flashes with some movie on cable. The window AC unit hums to little avail, the trailer still stuffy from the heat outside.
He’s focused on your profile, the way your smile twitches when something funny happens on screen. You toss popcorn into your mouth absentmindedly, eyes glued to the television.
“What are you staring at, Munson?” You aren’t even looking at him. “I can feel you staring.”
“What? No I’m not!” He slaps his hands over his eyes. “Can’t see a thing!”
Your giggling makes his heart slam against his ribs. “You’re such an idiot.”
“But I’m your idiot, right?”
“Obviously. My own personal, limited edition idiot.”
“One of one sold.” He moves his hands to find you looking at him now, eyes big and sparkly, he could drop dead if he looks too long. “Extremely rare.”
You blush bright red, and Eddie’s sure his own cheeks match. The next words you say are barely audible, but he’ll never forget them. “Guess I just got super lucky.” Before he can react, you plant a kiss on his cheek, and turn back to the movie like nothing happened.
Meanwhile, the feeling of your lips on his skin will be seared into his memory for the foreseeable future.

idk why this bothered me enough to make a post but I feel like I keep seeing instances where people try to correct against Tim Drake fanon that's derived from canon and over-correct into not canon anymore. so here's some Tim Lore(TM) that people get mixed up about whether it's fanon or canon.
CANON: TIM SNUCK OUT AND TOOK PICS OF BATMAN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Batman #440)
That's Tim's hand, that's Tim's narration. Yes, plenty of those photos are newspaper clippings but several aren't, and we literally just saw Tim taking pictures of Batman. Fanon likely expanded the extent to which he did it, but there's canon basis for it. And he had to have been doing it long enough to notice the change in Batman's patterns of violence.
CANON: TIM'S ADULT SUPERVISION WAS QUESTIONABLE
During his first arc, we find out he's been attending boarding school, but it's a vacation week and does not indicate being under any supervision. When questioned, he never knows where his parents are, nor does he have any clear idea of when he'll see them.

(I forgot what issue this is from sorry)
Tumblr media
(Detective Comics #618)
FANON: TIM GREW UP NEXT DOOR TO WAYNE MANOR
This is really more a misunderstanding than anything else, but the Drakes didn't purchase and move into Drake Manor (which IS next door to Wayne Manor) until after he became Robin. It was Alfred's idea. So like... yes, he lived next door to Bruce but not when he was little.
But also, please keep writing bb!Tim lives next door to the Waynes fics PLEASE I love them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Batman #480) (ALSO READ THIS ISSUE IT IS SO GOOD THERE IS SUCH DELICIOUS ANGST ABOUT TIM'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS FATHER)
????: I DON'T THINK MRS MAC WAS EVER TIM'S NANNY/KNEW HIM BEFORE HE WAS ROBIN BUT I CAN'T TECHNICALLY PROVE IT
I think this is the same kind of fanon as "Tim grew up as the Waynes' neighbor" where something that did canonically happen was projected into his childhood. Mrs. McIlvaine's first appearance was in Robin III #3. She just kind of shows up to be the housekeeper when they move into Drake Manor. I don't get the vibe that they know each other very well, and it makes sense to have hired someone new because they moved into a new property.
FYI: TIM BEING ROBIN MIGHT'VE GIVEN JACK DRAKE A COUPLE EXTRA YEARS OF LIFE ACTUALLY
Jack and Janet were kidnapped by the Obeah Man. Batman was involved in another case at the time and while I can't say for certain he wouldn't have gotten involved in their case at all, I'd say the fact that it was Tim's parents changed his priorities. They definitely would've both died if not for Batman's interference. As it was, the timing was pretty close, so if he hadn't gotten involved soon enough, they would've most likely died. (Detective Comics #118-121)

BRIEF CHARACTER SUMMARY — harley & ivy’s adopted kid . parents murdered by the joker in front of her did serious damage to morgan .
after the incident , she got some weird abilities (fourth wall breaking) she couldn’t explain and practically made harley quinn to take her in and help her get back to the joker .
BEFORE YOU FOLLOW / INTERACT — i won’t do novella roleplay on my carnival account i will on this account. morgan’s lore will follow her original lore in JACEVERSE but with the mix of my interactions here (so technically, she’s still in jaceverse but with a little tiny changes).

BLOOD IS THICKER THEN WATER AU IDEA
Bruce is a vampire he got turned when he first begun to be Batman around maybe when dick was already Robin.
However, vampires kind of work like mosquitoes. He doesn’t really need blood ever, where as female vampires need blood which makes sense because they are the only ones who can turn people into vampires and there’s only a few who exist at a time.
Bruce has this ever aching need to go find the vampire who turned him hunt people down for her, but doesn’t he hasn’t seen her ever not really the last thing he saw was fangs going in his neck.
And what’s sad is Bruce didn’t know he couldn’t turn anyone he’s going based of vampire lore, but he promised himself never to curse anyone like he has been until he’s holding a dying Jason in his arms. After a run in with the joker he desperately tries to turn him, it doesn’t work.
He tries to end his own life is the most mortal way possible but he’s no longer a mortal so they don’t work.
The sun doesn’t bother him, nor garlic, but stuff like your thyme and lavender does.
Bruce also has to cope with the fact he will out live his children one day, and yes he’s never stopped looking for a cure and won’t.
When the vampire who turned him finally appears demanding him to kill his children to kill those he cares about his family, it’s like a switch hits, he’s being controlled almost mind controlled and no one whose been turned before can fight it but Bruce after nearly killing Dick his baby. His son. Pauses turning back towards he ignoring her commands.
And pounces ripping apart and scattering her limbs around the world, technically you can’t kill an immortal but you can make them wish they were dead.
(A little Drabble not edited going to bed night y’all.)

Hello! Hope you’re doing well. Okay, might be much to ask & someone may have asked before. But JPV sounds so cool but pretty underrated. I know of him & some facts but not a lot! I’d be so intrigued to learn more if you’d like to talk about it!
What comics of his would you recommend?
Your fave things about him (though I’d be hard, I’m sure).
Also I remember him & Leslie Thompkins having a unique + sorta interesting relationship. She was kinda motherly to him (but also a lot. Not to ramble bout her but I think she’s complex & interesting but dc sometimes does portray her off. Adore her)
Hmm, what do you wish people knew about him more? Misconceptions you hate?
His relationship with the other bats?
I hope these aren’t too many questions! Thanks
Hello, Anon! These aren’t too many questions at all, I love talking about JPV 🙏 there’s a part two to this if you check the reblogs.
So for his core reading I recommend:
-Batman: Sword of Azrael. His first appearance and one of my favorite comics ever. It’s a 4 issue mini series, so it’s not incredibly long, but it helps you understand the fundamentals of Jean Paul and Azrael as characters (there is a distinction between the two). It also explains things like “the system” and “the Order of St. Dumas” which are incredibly important to his lore.
-Batman Prelude to Knightfall/Knightfall/Knightquest/Knightsend: The Knightfall saga is absolutely fantastic and holds a great significance in the Batman mythos. It’s the story of Bane “breaking the Bat” and having Jean Paul step in to take over as Batman while he heals. It’s an excellent deconstruction of what Batman is, the failings of antiheroes, how Bruce’s particular mindset allows him to be Batman, and the importance of fathers and legacies (or lack thereof). It is also very important to Dick Grayson and Tim Drake as characters as it marks the start of Tim’s Robin run and leads into Batman Prodigal where Dick becomes Batman.
-Showcase ‘94 #10: Not exactly a required read, but I personally recommend it. It is a short intermittent story about the aftermath of Jean Paul’s tenure as Batman and exactly what happens to him when he leaves the Batcave. Adds some context for Azrael #1 as well.
-Azrael (1995)/Azrael Agent of the Bat: His 100 issue solo series! It starts off as Azrael then later is renamed Azrael Agent of the Bat about halfway through. It can technically be read without the prior knowledge of Knightfall, but I would strongly recommend reading the Knightfall saga first even if it’s long because it is a very big moment for JPV/AZ. His solo explores a lot, it continues to sort of pick apart antiheroes and explore things like redemption and pacifism, nurture vs nature, self identity, the corruption that comes with absolute power, etc. It crosses over into a lot of bigger arcs (Contagion, No Man’s Land, Bruce Wayne Murderer, etc etc) and it wouldn’t hurt to read them in their entirety separate of Azrael but ultimately isn’t really needed. Just adds some context for the things Azrael doesn’t explain. His solo series at times can be a little frustrating and the writing is somewhat inconsistent but if you are interested enough in JPV you sit through it.. it’s slop but it’s our slop. It also has three annuals and two one shots! They aren’t very important other than Azrael annual #1 because it talks about his father but they’re all pretty fun stories. His one shots and annuals are:
-Azrael Year one (very important imo)
-Azrael Annual #2 (very fantastical and campy but there’s definitely some meat to it if you really pick it apart)
-Azrael Annual #3 (silly oneshot mission with him and Catwoman)
-Azrael/Ash (team up)
-Azrael + The Question (team up)
-Azrael #1000000000 (a part of the one million series, no real importance or significance it’s just a kind of silly futuristic story)
After Agent of the Bat he isn’t really relevant until Blackest Night where they bring him back. I won’t lie to you, most of his comics after the big reboot for the New 52 and everything are completely out of character and very disappointing reads. There are some that are pretty good though and are my personal favorite modern JPV/Azrael stories:
-Azrael Dark Knight of the Soul: This sort of sets the standard for all modern Jean Paul stories. It’s short, just a miniseries from Batman Urban Legends but definitely a worthwhile read.
-Arkham City Order of the World: This explores Azrael himself more than Jean Paul, it weaponizes his righteous fury and just sort of points him like a loaded gun. It is a verrryy interesting read even outside of Azrael, the art and the “villains” are so cool.
-Saved by the Belle Reve: An anthology of a few stories but the one with Jean Paul is called “How Angels are Made.” It talks a bit about his more modernized backstory and what shaped him as a child.
-Sword of Azrael (2022): 100% his best post-reboot storyline. It hits just about every mark I’d want from an Azrael storyline and introduces some new lore for the modern origins of Azrael and the Order of St. Dumas. It does slightly twist some of the older 90s lore but it is good enough that I could look past that.. It introduces some really interesting characters and Jean Paul’s newest supporting cast which are very well suited to him. I’d maybe recommend reading Catwoman’s 2021 annual before this, just for a bit more context, but that annual doesn’t touch on Jean Paul himself as much as it explains the connection between him and a new ally and gives some background information for the Order of St. Dumas itself. Sword of Azrael 2022 goes back to themes we’re familiar with, forgiveness and redemption, self identity, but it ultimately ends in acceptance and catharsis which is something very new for Jean Paul and Azrael as characters and was so narratively satisfying.
-He’s briefly in Gotham Nocturne as well, mainly Detective Comics #1076-#1089. Nocturne revisits some of my favorite Jean Paul/Azrael batfamily dynamics and sort of establishes which characters are really fit to succeed Batman (in my totally unbiased opinion….).
Overall, I prefer his 90-early 2000s characterization but once he’s reintroduced in modern comics, anything written by or in association with Dan Watters is very good. I think out of all the writers who have taken a stab at bringing Jean Paul and Azrael back into relevance, he has done it the best. By FAR.
As far as my favorite things about him go… I really love that he is someone who isn’t perfect. Which, every character has flaws, obviously, but there isn’t a single Batfamily member that I think is as deeply lost and struggling with their morality as Jean Paul is. He’s stuck between violence and pacifism, sometimes he relishes in fighting, other times he feels extremely guilty and considers abandoning heroism altogether. He’s a very unique character and brings a lot to the “Batfam” table that I don’t think anyone else really does! He is terrible at his job, he is lame, he is confused, he is difficult to trust but he’s sometimes the most competent and reliable person you know. He has a sort of gentleness as Jean Paul that is so sweet and you can’t help but feel awful for him when you see him go through all these terrible things and struggle to balance being Azrael with being Jean Paul. He is a narrative parallel to Dick Grayson but where Dick excels, Jean Paul falls flat 90% of the time. He’s volatile as Azrael, he’s pitiful as Jean Paul, he’s desperate and lonely and searching for direction. He struggles and suffers in ways that are not pretty. He is someone so very sympathetic while also being so frustrating. He does things, both as Jean Paul and Azrael, that make you want to beat him into the ground, but you can’t help but feel for him and want to see him succeed even though he never will. It’s like betting on a horse who will lose every race just because the horse has a good nature to it. He is very selfish at times and even his acts of good are only done because they somehow appeal to his emotions or he gets something out of it. But other ones he’s so very compassionate and would give you the clothes off his back. He is soo complex and there’s so many layers to him and Azrael.. he has such a unique story and relationships with everyone and it just immediately sucked me in. I literally never had an interest in reading Azrael but once I had read Batman Sword of Azrael I was like.. genuinely enchanted. He is so very compelling while also just being some guy. He is capable of destroying everything around him or being the best hero in Gotham.. but ultimately is very middle of the road because of internal struggles and it is just so.. shaking him around. He’s so compelling. He is very fun to analyze and pick apart. Probably one of the most interesting Gotham vigilantes (⬅️ completely objective and not founded upon my own clear interest in him).
Now his dynamics with other characters.. ohh there’s a lot to say here. Especially touching on Leslie and Bruce but we’ll start with Leslie.
Leslie meets him in the No Man’s Land, which if you’re unfamiliar, is a somewhat post-apocalyptic Gotham suffering from the aftermath of an earthquake which they dubbed the cataclysm. As Jean Paul, he is very eager to help Leslie and she is very caring towards him. There is absolutely a mother-son bond here, she says she loves Jean Paul. Personally, I’ve always viewed her relationship with him as a sort of way to make up for not being able to steer Bruce away from violence. Jean Paul is someone who is a bit distressed by the hurt he causes (less because he had done it and more because he doesn’t feel bad about it but that’s another thing entirely) and she tries to steer him towards pacifism and medicine so that he can help in ways other than fighting. Jean Paul and Azrael are ultimately two sides of the same coin and he can never just.. stop being Azrael, since it is quite literally part of him, but he tries. He tries for Leslie, and Leslie sees Jean Paul in this very caring and understanding light that I don’t think any other character really does. She defends him to Bruce, tells Bruce he is to blame for Jean Paul’s struggles, she tries to steer Jean Paul towards the path to pacifism, she celebrates his “first” birthday with him. She is his rock, probably the most important person to him. She is dependable when no one else is, he trusts her completely. She does have some clear judgements of Jean Paul, more accurately Azrael, but is mostly supportive in her approach to helping and working with him. Especially when you consider the lack of kindness Jean Paul has come to expect from “authority figures,” Leslie is a breath of fresh air which was absolutely needed for Jean Paul.
Leslie and Bruce I’d say are like the Angel and Devil on his shoulder, but ultimately both have this very polarized view on helping people and are more so imposing their ideals onto Jean Paul than trying to help him with his own (100% Bruce is more guilty of this than Leslie, but I digress). They expect him to choose one or the other and don’t exactly understand that he can’t. He wants to, but it just isn’t possible for him. They have these pretty black and white views but Jean Paul is a very grey character so he’s torn between the two.
Batman…now there is a LOT to say about this one. It’s got so many layers to it and it’s founded upon distrust but also compassion, and a sense of necessity. They are almost father and son, but not quite. They are almost equal partners, but not really. He is both terribly important to Bruce, but also someone Bruce feels relatively little guilt about manipulating. They meet at a spectacularly low point for Jean Paul, he had just lost his father (literally died right in front of him. In Jean Paul’s bed), learned that he was brainwashed from childhood to be an assassin, and recently discovered an alter. He is pretty lost and without direction, which Bruce tries to give him. Bruce makes him a security guard at Wayne Enterprises, he has Tim train Jean Paul (Robin and his grown ass student), they give him a new suit. He starts to get Jean Paul “on the right track” but it doesn’t do much to help Jean Paul with all the trauma he’s endured, so he is still not the most mentally sound at the time. When Bruce is paralyzed by Bane, he gives the very lost, clearly unwell Jean Paul the cowl. His reasoning for this is that he can’t give it to Dick because “Nightwing is his own man” but he clearly has no qualms passing it to JPV.. if that tells you anything about his views of the two. Jean Paul revered Bruce as this sort of father figure because he was the one guiding Jean Paul after his own dad’s death. bruce shapes his morality, gives him purpose, and then gives him a sense of identity (Batman) which Jean Paul had previously lost. Being Batman is obviously not good for JPV. He starts gradually slipping and pushing away some of Bruce’s allies (Robin, Gordon, Catwoman) and isolating himself while he tries to fully immerse himself in the identity of Batman. I’d argue that Azbats is more Azrael adjacent, if not his own persona entirely, but that isn’t to say Jean Paul had no agency or is free of guilt. He quite literally starts hallucinating his dead dad referring to Bruce as a “false father” and saying JPV is shaping himself in his image. He cuts his hair to look like Bruce, mimics Bruce’s voice, wears a Bruce’s suit (until he makes his own), lives in the Batcave (and Wayne Manor, by extension), carries on Bruce’s legacy. He is Batman. And it all just festers until eventually he reaches this breaking point. He is nothing if not Batman and Bruce (understandably) attempts to take the mantle away from him once Bruce is healed. This creates a sort of identity crisis for Jean Paul, who had been basing his whole life around being Batman for the past year or so. They fight and their whole battle is such a rich and powerful thing.. you have to see it to really get it all but there’s so much to take from it. Bruce’s perspective on JPV, JPV’s views on fathers and on being Batman, etc. Bruce chooses to spare Jean Paul and let him go after their fight, acknowledging that Jean Paul was lost and needed to see the light. Jean Paul is then homeless for six months and Bruce does absolutely nothing about this. for six months. During his struggles with homelessness and coming down from being Batman, he is once again, at an all time low and given direction again by Batman. Given identity by Batman. Bruce comes back, out of a sense of guilt and responsibility, and gives Jean Paul a reconstructed Azrael suit, some money, and a mission to go find the Order of St. Dumas. After Jean Paul completes this task he continues to go to Bruce for help, Bruce usually says no but still helps in some roundabout way after completely shutting down Jean Paul. He keeps Jean Paul at an emotional distance and they never quite bridge this gap between the two of them. He goes to Bruce out of a need for guidance and approval, Bruce usually doesn’t really give him that. Bruce comes to him and gives him a task that always benefits Bruce, the cycle repeats. He admits to using Jean Paul, and Jean Paul allows himself to be used because he cares for Bruce (and Bruce, in his own special Batman way, does care about him. A lot, strangely).

STRAWHATS FAMILY AU
The Lore Drop:
Alright,in this alternative universe the whole gang is a family. Robin and Franky are married and they are the parents. Brook is Franky’s adoptive father. Jinbei is Robin’s biological father. Brook is African (Nigerian (Bantoid))American and he was never married. Franky is caucasian, his roots comes from Turkiye. Jinbei is Indian, he married Olvia, she is Brazilian. So Robin is half Indian half Brazilian.
Only Luffy and Chopper are Frobin’s biological children.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Robin and Franky got married, they had realised that they are rich enough to set on a quest to help the children of need so they went to see the world. HEAR ME OUT it makes sense because um Jinbei is a very respected doctor and Brook is a renowned musician; Franky own a ship/boat/cruise fix company and Robin is a doctor in the archeology field 😁 they are rich rich
First, Luffy was born. And their first destination was Japan. That is where they adopted Zoro. He was in Juvenile. They sorted out things and adopted this child to save him. Cause he was innocent. Luffy was 6 and Zoro was 10 when this happened. (I know the punishment age range is after 14 in Japan but the crime they were accusing him of was so severe or something that they had to, like you should know I’m just making shit up leave me alone)
After a few months they go to Finland. That is where they adopt Nami. A Swedish girl who was in the hands of a gun mafia that killed her sister and mother. She was 9. So they fight fight and get her.
The new year comes, and they decide to go to Mozambique. That is where they meet Usopp! When Franky and Zoro was walking through streets with full of shops and all, they run into Usopp (same age as Luffy) who was selling things he built. Usopp’s father Yasopp left their home when he was born, and her mother dies of sickness. The social workers does not give shşt about the poor. Franky sees this spark in him. He and Zoro buys things from him. And at the end of the day Franky asks if he wants a family they can be one to him. Usopp refuses because of his sick friend Kaya. Saying that he cannot leave her. Later in the week, yk the drill they show everyone that Kuro is bad person blah blah, they both save Kaya and Usopp. Usopp accepts to be part of their family.
They make BIG AHH turn and go to France. They drop at some seaside town. Such a nice touristic place. But so many shop owners with rent complaints. The mayor of this town goes againts its country’s law and increases the rents per SECOND. They dig down this mystery by accident and find out that the mayor is a evil motherfrucker scientist. He also has a son , Sanji (10 yo), whose very much so sweet. They want to fight the scientist but the country is actually supporting him. Since his products and the stuff he does supports the economy or something. So they technically kidnap Sanji. But Sanji needs it. With Franky’s relations they get him a fake id and all that. But they promise that ona day they will have enough power to defeat him. Sanji is happy.
The next destination is Canada. That is exactly where Franky and Robin decides to make another child 😁
After that they go to Egypt. They come across an organisation that Robin did her internship, the one that ran by Sir Crocodile. They find a lost child named Vivi. Vivi is an 8 year old who is getting used by Crocodile. They save her, save the country, yay! Allthough Vivi was a part of their family for a quite time after they learned that Vivi was a princess, they help her to meet her father. The Strawhats leave Egypt and promise eachother that they will meet again.
After 9 months Chopper is born. And the family is complete for now. But they are still in a quest to help children. Or to collect them lol. After a while the grandpas also join their quest. And yeah thats it. I would binge read it if someone makes a fanfic about it.

thinking about an alternate season 7 wherein instead of every potential slayer being hunted and then activated, every past slayer gets brought back to life. I don’t really like post-chosen content anyway, but when I do read / look at it the whole slayer academy, everyone’s a slayer thing is really stupid to me ngl 💀
previous slayers, though… nikki wood and xin rong interacting with spike, actually finding out about the slayer before buffy, slayers with different backgrounds and situations and personalities, KENDRA?! I just love it so much.
you’d be able to focus on a relatively small cast of slayers, much like the potentials, throughout the season. this would include buffy, faith, kendra, nikki, and some other american slayers from varying time periods with a couple interesting international characters too (maybe a slayer from ancient greece / rome / egypt, or an anglo-saxon one or something). these are all experienced slayers, so no need to focus on training - it would be more about lore, history and their personal character journeys, assimilating them into society (creating some fun bottle episodes, maybe a day out on the town with dawn and a historical slayer) and trying to figure out why they were all brought back. also, if you want to keep the first as the main villain, then it can look like any one of them because they’re all technically dead, which means you can still have that episode with the dead potential revealing herself as the first and all the mistrust that’s threaded throughout the season.
plus with nikki back, there would be no need for the stupid sleeper agent thing with spike or the ridiculous fight between him and robin. all the same ideas (and the flashbacks to spike’s mum) could still be explored, and in a way better way imo.
I reckon the reason they were brought back would probably be the powers that be (tying nicely into angel ofc) trying to defeat the first. and of course the ending would be this huge battle, as all the slayers from around the world come to sunnydale, and maybe to add some drama they would all disappear and die again when the battle’s done as they have fulfilled their purpose (a classic finale knife to the heart that would have everyone sobbing, especially over nikki and kendra).
there’s also the added thing of like,, I appreciate the show was leaning towards a theme of “hope for the future” with the potentials angle, but literally every other aspect of the season is about harkening back to the past. faith, robin, the first taking the form of previous characters, the high school, the slayer origins, etc etc. so I just think this idea would work so much better with the themes of the season, and tie in really nicely.
and the most obvious perk of this concept is kendra! she was forgotten about so quickly, and this season would really give the writers a chance to redeem themselves for the terrible way poc characters have been treated throughout the show (ignoring what they did to robin. FUCK that but that’s another conversation). I think the show really downplayed how much kendra’s death would have affected buffy, and seeing the two of them interact after buffy has changed so much and kendra’s still the same would be amazing. there’s also the interesting concept that, having been brought back from the dead, kendra still be 17, and therefore closer in age to dawn than to buffy, which could make for some really nice interactions between the two of them. also of course the biggest most exciting thing is having buffy, faith and kendra all interact. they all represent places on a spectrum in terms of personality, and I would LOVE to see kendra and faith interact and how much of a unit they would likely become as a trio.
there’s also the theme of buffy feeling (and being) alone in this season that would hopefully go away, as she would now have dozens of people who truly understand her, giving her a proper support system which I would love to see (season 7 scoobies can actually eat shit btw <3)
so. was this born out of my hatred for insufferable kennedy and the annoying potentials? yes absolutely. do I now want them to rewrite and re-film the entire last season 20 years later? yes absolutely I’m so glad you understand
side note wouldn’t it be sick if in the final battle there’s just this one slo-mo shot where buffy stakes a vamp and through the dust she sees the first slayer looking at her from across the battlefield before she disappears amongst the fight. WHAT it would literally be awesome hello?!
also also other side note sorry but Mother(TM) nikki wood would NEVER kick buffy out of her own house. fuck them kids fr

hello!! Do you have any Garth comic recommendations for someone (me) who has never read a Garth comic outside of a handful of TT issues before?
Tumblr media
Hi!! I definitely have some recommendations! This definitely isn't a comprehensive reading list by ANY means (although I do want to make one eventually!), but rather a small smattering of Garth centric comics that I think are fun or noteworthy! (These are also not in any particular order, just written out as they come into my brain lol)
Tempest (1996) - Obviously the Garth holy grail! There is no better Garth comic than this. It is peak and honestly one of the best books DC has ever put out. It's short, too (only 4 issues), so it's not too intensive of a read.
Tumblr media
Adventure Comics #269 - "The Kid from Atlantis" - Garth's first appearance! Don't get too hung up on the lore here, as it changes later on, but it's a sweet issue and obviously important!
Tumblr media
Adventure Comics #270 - "The Menace of Aqualad" - I love this issue for a multitude of reasons-- including the fully unintentional foreshadowing,-- but mainly I love it because it showcases what a sweet person Garth is and always has been.
Tumblr media
World's Finest Comics #133 - "Aquaman's New Partner -- Aqua-girl" - Again, the lore needs to be disregarded, but this issue fascinates me as an early iteration of Garth's insecurity about where he stands with Arthur/feeling useful.
Tumblr media
I probably shouldn't list everything individually so this post doesn't end up being a mile long, haha! So I'll start putting some groupings together:
Aquaman vol 1 #14, 18, 23, and #33
The Brave and the Bold #54
Teen Titans vol 1 #11 (not particularly Garth centric but just especially fun to me lol), #17, #19, #28, #29, #44-end of series. (Side note that @ttwasteland has a really good podcast covering volume 1 of Teen Titans! Actually, they have a lot of Teen Titans podcasts! Which is really useful for those who struggle to read Silver Age comics + I am immensely pleased with Hub's Aqualad enthusiasm!)
The Brave and the Bold (vol 3) #10
Death of a Prince (Technically, I recommend reading all of it, since it'll help you understand how things got to this point. But especially Adventure Comics #452 and the Aqualad stories in #453-455.)
Tales of the Teen Titans #85 & #86 + Teen Titans Spotlight #10
Teen Titans Spotlight #18
Teen Titans Spotlight #21
Aquaman vol 5 (Yes, all of it lol)
Showcase '96 #1
Teen Titans (Vol 3) #12-16
JLA/Titans
Titans (vol 1) At least the Devin Grayson portion, but I don't dislike the later stuff either!
There are also storylines that I think are fun or important that happen in across various books/stories (Obsidian Age, Aquaman vol 6, other (Teen) Titans stories, Blackest Night, CoIE, dare I even say Sword of Atlantis...), but I'll save those for a more in-depth reading list some other time! These ones are just popping up in my head rn.
If you want N52/Rebirth stuff, there are also a few stories that are pretty good. Sadly, they're pretty few and far between since canon changes and DC tossing their character bibles have left poor Garth in an odd, largely OoC limbo for years. Although I don't /love/ these stories as much as others, they still manage to vaguely pass the vibe check:
Nightwing & the Titans in Team Building (Robin 80th Anniversary 100 Page Super Spectacular) It's not super Garth centric, but it's fun!
Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 - “It’s a Family Affair”
Aquaman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular #1 - “Lady in the Lake”
World's Finest: Teen Titans & DC's Spring Breakout "Relay for your Life" Garth's characterization in these... isn't right, but I feel like it has the spirit more than the vast majority of things published in recent years.
Titans (2023-) I... don't totally feel right putting this here, but I feel like slowly... extremely slowly... they are starting to fix Garth's characterization. We're not quite there yet-- and it is sadly written by Tom Taylor,-- but I feel like it's going to lead to something that's actually good for Garth again. (Aka so many hints towards a potential new Tempest mini-series or one-shot have been dropped lately, and I feel like this series will be context important.)
Ok, to try to finish this out: Also consider watching some stuff with Garth in it like Aquaman (1967) TV show / DC Super Hero Girls (2019), or reading some cute, non-canon series such as Tiny Titans! It's just good fun!!
Anyways, thank you so much for the ask!! I hope this helps!!! (And thank you for allowing me a chance to ramble lol!)

ROUND 4 MATCH 7
Tumblr media
Chrom propaganda:
“Chrobin (Chrom x player character) is so many tropes in one oml. You have friends-to-lovers (Chrom and Robin are canonically best friends according to Nintendo), enemies-to-lovers (Robin is heir to the Grimleal cult, the enemy of the Halidom of Ylisse which Chrom is the prince, and later king, of), there's amnesia, time travel, official next-gen AUs, changed dialogue to lore important events in the game if you marry Chrom, and Nintendo keeps teasing us with the ship. Cheery prince who knows when to be serious, very strategically smart but very bad at communicating, a guy that can comfort you when you're down, make a fool of himself when you're not around, and he's just generally a very sweet guy. Also please consider the fact that you get to watch a cutscene of him dying in the prologue and despite the horrors he's just so supportive of the protagonist. Chrom doesn't care about where you came from or who you're related to, he cares for YOU. He gets KILLED by the protag and he reassures them that they did nothing wrong and pleads with them to get out, to a safe place. I lost my soul to Chrom, I physically can't play this game without romancing him.”
“He eats oranges with the peel still on, he's an absolute himbo. Also the writers accidentally made his daughter canonically trans so he definitely supports trans rights. And technically you can only marry him if you play as female Robin but their dynamic is still just as romantic if you play as male Robin (they literally call each other their other half and m!Robin and Chrom have a valentine's day duo unit in the gatcha, and in the anthology manga m!Robin asks Chrom to make polygamy legal so he can also marry Chrom's wife and they can be a family) so most people play the game with the gay mod so they can still marry him as a guy. He's incredibly stupid ("yeah, let's set all our ships on fire then walk through a volcano, you're so smart, Robin" "I know you've had prophetic visions about killing me and our daughter came from the future to warn us it would happen but I'm sure THIS TIME it won't because of the power of our bonds") but also really sweet. In the summer DLC they're fighting on a beach and when he sees Robin get excited over a weird creature they found he immediately forgets about the battle and starts trying to make a bunch of crafts (and failing) and cooking food (and failing again) and writing "Chrom and Robin were here" in the sand so that Robin could have some nice beach memories. I'm obsessed with this man”
Asra propaganda:
“He GIVES AWAY HALF HIS HEART TO REVIVE YOU okay but like. He's the MCs roommate and they were together for a few years before the MC caught a plague and died and he obsesses over a way to bring them back before succeeding by making a deal with a god to trade half his heart for MC and betraying the emperor. And then when MC comes back but without any of their memories, he takes care of them and teaches them how to live all over again and he never asks for anything in return. On all the routes where you don't choose him he's really supportive and helps you out despite your history and overall he's just really nice and supportive of the MC and is their rock no matter what route you go down. Also he has a pet snake named Faust and I love her she's so <33
Idk I just appreciate him so much”
"He gave you half his HEART!! He would literally go to hell and back for you!! He wants to take you on adventures all around the world—doesn’t matter where, as long as he’s by your side!! AND he’s nonbinary!!!"

12345 Tag Game
Thanks @monbons for the tag!! This looks like fun!
Rules: Give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words (feel free to interpret however you would like; if not on AO3, can be on Tumblr or FFNET, etc)!
Most Hits: No Sweeter Drug (than just giving you my love) || (Stranger Things, 60k)
Nancy and Robin had a whirlwind summer romance before their sophomore year, but Nancy left her behind, because Nancy Wheeler doesn’t date girls. But after the Upside Down, Nancy finds herself questioning who she even is. And she has to come to terms with her feelings for one Robin Buckley.
I always forget that this fic has the most hits! I loved writing this fic so much and I made a couple great friends while posting it :) It's kinda funny that this fic has the most hits when it's got like the 3rd most kudos, but I blame that on the Large Fandom curse.
Second Most Kudos: Proof of Life || (Carry On, 83k)
Vampires attacked Watford and Baz was Turned, but this time Natasha Pitch lived. What would Baz’s life be like growing up with his mother? How would Natasha feel about her son’s… condition? And what happens when you throw the Mage’s Heir into the mix?
THIS FIC!! This fic was such a joy and pain to write, but I'm SO proud of it. I took a long, stranger things/NSD shaped break while writing this, but I'm so glad I came back to finish it. The comments on this fic continue to give me LIFE.
Third Most Comments: Do As You're Told || (Carry On, 51k)
Simon accidentally gives Baz a permanent compulsion spell. Baz is pissed at Simon for ruining his life, and Simon just wants to fix it. With the help of Penny can they find a cure to the spell? And will Baz and Simon stay enemies...?
Technically, the fic with the third most comments is NSD but I already talked about that one, so i did the one with the 2nd most comments! This was the first multichapter fic I'd ever written and I remember being BLOWN AWAY by the comments. If you're one of the people who commented on this while i was posting it, you can take credit for my entire fanfic career because it was the comments I got on this that made me want to keep going, hands down.
Fourth Most Bookmarks: Just A Dare || (Carry On, 5k)
Simon Snow is dared to kiss Baz in a game of truth or dare, he's expecting Baz to yell at him or punch him, but what happens when Baz kisses him back?
I always forget that this fic has so many kudos/hits/bookmarks. This was the 2nd fanfic I ever wrote! I wrote this one so fast compared to how long it took me to write my first one and I remember thinking it was kind of terrible when I posted it (my first time writing kissing akadfkl), but it kind of took off! I remember I wrote this one because I had read all the other truth/dare fics in the fandom and wanted more.
Fifth Most Words: What to Bring to An Abandoned Planet || (Carry On, EXACTLY 12,345 words which I didn't even try to do)
Agatha, Baz, and Trixie are a small yet mighty group of space pirates who take down a transporter ship that holds Penelope, Shepard, and Simon on their way to relocating to a new planet. But once Agatha’s mighty ship—the SC Comet—falls way to space debris, the six of them have to learn to work together to survive on an uninhabited planet.
This fic was so much fun to write!! I wrote it for the Snowflake Exchange, and it's definitely not something I would have written all by myself! I kind of forget it had so many words because I wrote it So quickly. (Tbh I thought my dunmeshi smut fic would be fifth most words, but it's the seventh 😔 I'll have to talk about it some other time). This fic is the most AU AU i've ever written, and, like, don't look too closely at the lore please, I was just having fun.
Least Words: Nothing || (Carry On, 548)
You were young. Just a boy. A copy of a boy, but a boy nevertheless. You grew up on scraps of food and the backs of fists. You learned to fight before you learned how to speak. You always knew you'd be abandoned, unwanted. And at eleven years old, you woke up. Woke up alone and hungry.
Second person POV Humdrum fic, anyone? I went crazy during the Carry On Countdown. I was posting fics of any word count. Choosing all the wild ideas in my fic ideas list that I'd never have the time to explore with a long fic. This fic was fun! You should read it! (it won't take you very long at all it's only 500 words loll) As someone who is usually very long winded (see the three fics that are over 50k on this list), it was actually super fun to try my hand at something short!
Some tags:
@sweetronancer @facewithoutheart @run-for-chamo-miles @thewholelemon @best--dress @drowninginships @cutestkilla and anyone else who wants too! I don't want to break out the entire taglist, but please tag me if you end up sharing yours!!
