Okay damn you get a good one - Moonlight Shadow by Mike Oldfield from the album Crises.

I have loves this song for years and years and it is so beautiful. It's about someone dealing with a loss and with witnessing it happening, focusing on the scene when it happened.

Idk if I have a favourite lyric for this one. There's this sense of sadness in the singer's voice and in the guitar, but also the hopeful riffs in the chorus when she seems to stand up and hold on. The singer and the music gets stronger towards the end of the song and it feels like she's doing better. There a great sense of space and atmosphere here and the descriptions (and the albums colour pallette) let me picture the scene easily.

I happen to be listening to the single version (bc I have like 5 versions of it or sth I'm not sorry) which contains the bonus section:

'The last time ever she'd see him/(carried away by a moonlight shadow)/ The crowd gathered just to leave him'

(this lyric pattern is found throughout the song btw)

And I just feel this sense of bitterness at the world and people's callous curiosity while she has to deal with his death alone. So that'll be my fav lyric I guess.
