Im going to be a hater for a sec but i am really not a fan of how they adapted buggy/ the orangetown arc in the live action

Talking about my autistic headcanons part 1 out of ???

(shit on my headcanons, get blocked. I mean it.)

Luffy:

He canonically has a samefood, meat. Other characters have foods they like and are associated with, but not nearly to the same degree as Luffy and his meat.

He also canonically says the same thing every time he picks up a den den mushi (phone for non fans). Reads like a social script to me!

He always admits he's going to be the pirate king, even at times where it may be better to hide it! He also never changes up his wording while doing this. (Most OP characters don't, but he is the most obvious about it so sssh)

His logic and thought process are considered very unpredictable in-universe.

In the orangetown arc, there is one scene where Nami thinks "don't tell them we are pirates" and he just immediately goes and says it. Big mood for me.

He also never considered that he had a father before his grandfather brought it up to him. That seems like the exact same thing I also overlook, tbh.

That being said, I headcanon him as a big hand flapper. I further headcanon that because of his devil fruit power, he is able to move his arms in ways nobody else can. Strangers that don't know about his fruit find it very uncanny valley.

He has 100% unintentionally hit one of his nakama while handflapping. "Sorry Zoro."

He's also a big pacer. I don't make the rules.

Autism is 100% a known thing in the OP universe I decided. Law and Chopper imply that medicine is quite advanced, so I don't see why it wouldn't be.

That being said, Luffy never mentions he's autistic. When asked about some of his symptoms, he just replies that thats something he does. He isn't ashamed, he just doesn't get what the big deal is. Somebody looks at his medical records for reasons, and he's like "yeah. Didn't you know?"

Extremely sensory seeking. Will do anything to have a new sensory experience.
