mako was stated to be zuko light so it kind of fits that makos conflict was a emotional conflict on making a decision since zuko spent most of atla conflicted. and him making a firm decision to go to team avatar happened in b3. zukos conflict was a more masculine heros journey while makos was othercentric
it's honestly been so long since i've watched any of LOK lol, i swore off it and bryke after the treason that was korrasami.
i liked mako as a character, honestly and he didn't deserve the shit he got for existing from some of the fandom. Mako literally grew up as a traumatized child who watched his parents die in front of him (ala batman) and had to raise his little brother on the street. his personality came from that rough upbringing. Zuko on the other hand was for the most part until he was banished, sheltered and spoiled in the palace in the fire nation, so his awkwardness towards being normal and trying to adjust from his narrow world view made more sense in terms of character development.
they're both good characters though.
