I think there’s a good chance that I’ll have chapter 2 of ‘blue jeans n’Texas dreams’ out this evening! Yesterdays chapter took me under an hour to write and I really wanna take a break from all the angst LOL

Raise your hand if you caught my little easter egg in chapter one 👀 actually, there were like multiple but the main ones were :

1. Sarah having purple nail polish on (if you read burning burning in a hopeless dream, you’ll see why the color purple is significant)

2. Long Long Time by Linda Ronstadt playing in Joel’s truck

3. The horses we have been introduced to so far, are all named after Pedro characters 😌 we have Javi P, the mean chestnut OTTB, his brother Javi G, and we have Ezra, the readers horse who is a 16 hand high Hanoverian.

This just means there are other horses with Pedro character names that have yet to be introduced….👀

Fun fact: I have been riding horses since I was about 7 years old! I used to train at hunter jumper barns but I broke my wrist in two spots after falling off sometime in 7th grade. I had to take a break from riding and started to take lessons at my aunts barn while I was in college.

Winter of 2021 to March 2022 I worked at therapy barn called “Dream Riders” there were a few horses that were rescued and the rest were donated. The center was also a non-for profit and we offered riding lessons and therapy sessions for children with disabilities :) I drew my inspiration for this story through my experience as a horse girl/equestrian and my time at the therapy barn!

Interrogatory

Sam opened his eyes to a place that seemed strange and familiar at the same time. The light made his eyes ache.

"He's finally awake," said a man in a coat and top hat. "Are you willing to tell us where the human is who has shamed our people with the betrayer Castiel?"

"If I'm not mistaken," Sam replied, "angels have the Lord's permission to marry. Why do not you accept that?”

"Because our race must be pure to keep the light and the power ever stronger. No impurities of races inferior to ours. Our nature mixed with those filthy idiots who are humans, the worst of all races that could mix our pure and light lineage! Just imagining a part of us inhabiting a bark that is not its host makes me nauseous ... the Lord was not in his faculties in this decision, because these impure ones made the head and the heart with sentimental rubbings ... I don’t understand how our union with a race that is incapable of following a simple order is allowed, "said the angel walking around Sam with an elegant cane raising it in moments that he raised his voice.

"If you want me because of Eliza," she said, "you're going to waste your time because I don’t even know her, and I don’t know where she is."

"Oh, you know her, yes, and she may even be considered a scum just as she and her darling Castiel. Sometimes representativeness and blood equals each other Samuel”said the angel with the face of a few friends “where is Eliza?

"I said I don’t know," said the youngest of the Winchesters, "you should ask Castiel.”

"Don’t you think we tried?" The angel replied. "Castiel protects you with all his might.”

“He protects her even from us ... we don’t know who she is or why we cannot know who she is, I don’t understand why you captured me, but it will not work. Eliza will not come here because she has no motive. I don’t even know her, I'm not important to her.”

Equestrian Questions

1. Your horses name: Magic Mike, Mikey, Mikey Likes 

2. Your favourite horse breed: Hanoverian 

3. Your discipline: It keeps changing, but mostly Hunter/Jumper, some dressage, some random eventing/cross country/fox hunting sometimes. 

4. Your favourite discipline: Probably eventing as of late. 

5. Your first fall: Hmmm, this is a tough one. The most notable “first” was probably being bucked off my fat welsh pony, Roy, and into the metal gate. 

6. Your worst fall: A young mare reared and flipped over on me once. Luckily we were both OK. 

7. Fondest horse memory: There are many, for sure, many kind ones with Belinda and with Tuffy before her. 

8. Your proudest equestrian moment: Winning the 2;9″ hunter division with Belinda at our last hunter show. I had decided just before that show that we would focus more on dressage and flat work going forward. 

9. Your favourite celebrity equestrian: I have lots! But lately, probably Laura Graves, Danielle Goldstien, Doug Payne. 

10. Your favourite internet equestrian: I don’t keep track of internet famous people, because, come on, guys. Get better heroes. 

11. Your favourite horse: Belinda <3 

12. Your biggest riding pet peeve: People who ride more with their hands than their leg. 

13. Why you started riding: Because I was a pony-obsessed little bean. 

14. The last time you rode & what you did: I rode yesterday out in the field with some poles. Mikey worked on adding a stride instead of taking the long spots, and we used them to reinforce clean flying changes. 

15. Any riding injuries you have: My rotator cuff is effed up from a recent fall. 

16. A bit about your barn: Home Run Farm is a hunter/jumper boarding barn in Florida. We bring in a lot of OTTBS for retraining and resale. And show! But it’s a super casual, no frills, happy place. 

17. Your dream horse: Belinda <3 Though I’m thinking my next might be an Irish Sport Horse... 

18. Your favourite tack brand: Prestige. 

19. Your dream horse (dead or alive): Belinda <3 

20. Your equestrian idol (dead or alive): McLain Ward 

21. A discipline you’d like to try: Eventing, like as a full time thing, no dabbling. 

22. Your dream barn (real or imaginary): There are many drool-worthy I’ve seen in Wellington. But I’d like something hilly, maybe in Kentucky? 

23. Your favourite equestrian film: Tough one! There are many, but National Velvet and Spirit?

25. Your best equestrian friend: Probably Stacey, my barn owner, right now. 

26. One horse that has influenced you (good or bad): Reggio was definitely a chapter of learning. 

27. Your favourite item of tack: Right now, my “In Horse We Trust” reins that are so pretty and grippy but not gross and goopy. 

28. Your grooming routine: Play tag with Mikey as he tries to run away from the curry comb (unless I’m massaging his butt), good hard brush, spending extra time on his filthy legs. Pick hooves, apply various hoof stuff, from hardner to gel to thrush busters, to soft brush (with lots of kisses on his nose). Usually fly spray. Wrap legs or apply boots. Then tack up. 

29. An equestrian trend that you don’t like: These ridiculous BellyBand/spur guard things. If you don’t know how to ride with spurs, then don’t use them at all! 

30. Your equestrian future: Who knows, probably another young horse in my future after I sell Mikey. Thought it would be nice to have a solid partner for a while.
