SCARLET - How do they grieve?

frankly? poorly. but this has a lot to do with how he was raised and how emotions were frequently weaponised against him. the most striking moment when he was one of the darkest moments in his life (in his opinion, a world ending threat has nothing on interpersonal trauma), and a beloved animal companion was killed after he'd barely made mention of it once. he couldn't even grieve; he had to immediately dispose of its corpse and shut down everything lest he be harmed further.

later, he gets better! he'll still refuse to talk about it, but he doesn't shut it down, at least! the bar is six feet under, i know. lol.

STRAWBERRY - What part of them is most like you? Was this intentional?

his trauma and his healing journey reflect mine really closely, hands down. i am NOT nearly as dry and blunt as he is, personality-wise, lol. i'm also not as nearly unsmiling as he is (he's a grouchy ass drow; i don't think most people could be as unsmiling as he is unless they're also a written character).

this is a really funny question to ask, since i've had one other oc a long time ago that reflected me very painfully closely. she was a fire emblem echoes oc, made to be another deep reflection of rigel. no matter how many times i try to have her start to heal from her trauma, she always refuses and gets worse. currently, she's retired and is living peacefully on a horse farm, as content/happy as she allows herself to be.

GARNET - If they had to kill someone, what method would they choose?

istorros is bound to the edicts of tempus, the warhammer, which means he is bound to fight others in honourable combat, and must not turn from a fight. hence, he could rather go about a fight directly, without beating around the bush or any frivolities. he's very efficient at killing, as a result.

however, he's not going to go and fight stupidly, either. most fights are done in a matter of seconds; the longer a fight goes on, the greater likelihood that something will go wrong, and you'll die, instead of your opponent. he'd rather kill quickly rather than draw something out for show.

once upon a time, before he worshiped tempus, and before he escaped the underdark, he would have tried to rely on poisons to ensure kills. but he would always be efficient with it; there's no use in keeping an opponent alive if there's a chance they will recover and kill you when you aren't looking.

he did learn how to poison a person before learning medicine to save them, after all...

Iceman, I love most of this look. The accented orange is perfect for the mostly blue look, and I love that he has a matching earring for his cuff-links. Such a nice touch! But those rubber boots, man... those rubber boots ruin it for me. 8/10

Fisk is giving off some Doctor Doom vibes with this outfit. I love the regalness of it, especially the golden leaves behind the ear. 9/10

??? I'm not sure who this is, but their outfit looks like they're going to a Halloween party rather than a gala. 3/10

Emma, oh my god, YES. Almost always delivering, and this is definitely one of those cases! 10/10

Xavier... I hate to say it, but I genuinely love this look. He's bringing major space man vibes, and it's super elegant at the same time. 9/10

Bishop doesn't even get points for effort. He got a red suit then slapped some belts on it. Boring as fuck. 1/10

I was about to write another "???" because I had no idea who this was, until it occurred to me that I think this is supposed to be Scarlet Witch? Except she is super duper whitewashed, so I did not even recognize her. Auto-failure regardless of the look. 0/10

Proteus looks moderately snazzy, but out of the Five is the least interesting in my opinion. 3/10

Egg has a cool coat, but those balls around his neck are way too big and awkward. 4/10

Hope looks a little like a fairy princess here, and I like that! 7/10

Tempus looks like she's going to a prom more than a gala, and I don't know what's going on with that giant shoulder piece. Did Cable lend it to her or something? 4/10

Elixir, my golden boy, is embracing the shiny and I love it! 9/10

Exodus seems to be trying out a new costume rather than a gala look, but in terms of style, it's fine. 5/10

Vision's outfit is as boring as he is. 1/10

Miles, holy shit. Miles should be giving lessons to everyone else on how to actually make a suit look unique! Bishop, take notes. 9/10

Old Laura looks like she's dressed for a gothic funeral more than a gala, but at least that's to her style rather than some crazy OOC look. So, points for that. 5/10

T'Challa... I. Am. Swooning. I know he's not a king right now but damn does he ever look like it in this outfit. The beautiful patterns and complimentary colours, holy shit. 10/10

Synch has certainly done way better in the past. It's just a plain black suit without a shirt, for fuck sake. 2/10

Captain Marvel looks like she's a marching bad, lol. The stars in the hair are a nice touch, though. 3/10

Jean's look is, I know, divisive. I've seen some people say they adore this design, and some people say they hate it. I'm personally on the fence. I think it would be better without the stupid helmet, that's for sure. And I think it looks a little too much like an Emma Frost design, if you were to just colour it white. 5/10

Fantomex? Where the fuck have you been? Anyway, he literally just looks like he always looks but with some sunglasses lmfao. 0/10

Dylan looks like a moody teen as ever, lol. I do like the black and white though. 6/10

Black Cat... Like I said, I like black and white together, but this is giving me too much Cruella de Vil vibes. 4/10

Mary Jane just picked up an evening gown off the rack I guess. 2/10

Firestar, I think? Not actually positive if it's her. Anyway, the sleeves are a bit too much for me, but I love the fiery frills on the cape. 5/10

Thor looks so ugly here lmfao I'm sorry but I hate this look. It's way too clunky. 0/10

At first I thought this was Kwannon, but then I remembered seeing panels and I believe it's Kitty/Kate. Anyway, I like the lace-up boots and I like the frills. 7/10

Hellcat looks like she's took some inspiration from a wrestler's pre-fight look, and I like that. It's simplistic but just enough stylish to pass. 6/10

Nova, going with a tits out look as well I see. I like the feathered shoulder pads, and I like the skirt. 6/10

Moon Knight, oh my god, I have a strong feeling it was Steven who pulled the strings to get a gala look, because there's no fucking way Marc or Jake would be caught dead there. Anyway, this is exactly the type of vibe I would expect from MK, maybe even a bit more playful than that with the mesh part of the top. And I really like it up until the strange boots. He and Iceman must've compared notes or something. Still, 8/10

Psylocke - now THIS is Kwannon for sure! I like the classical ninja meets evening gown look, and I like that she's sexy but not to the point of being objectified, which is a refreshing change for how artists often treat her. 8/10

Destiny and Mystique I will rate together because the score is the same: A what the fuck level of 0/10.

Forge looks fucking awesome, especially compared to last year. I love the fringe and the scarf and the jewellery and the cane... it's a complete look that gives me great vibes. 8/10

Cyclops, come on, man. You can do better than this, can't you? He looks like Mister Sinister dressed him or something. 1/10

Cuckoos look like they stepped off the set of Tron: Legacy. Or a Daft Punk concert. Not complaining to be clear, this look fucks. 10/10

i made a gith whose vague backstory is that she ??? defected from vlaakith after hearing stories of prince orpheus (somehow?) or something and fled to faerun for safety. she lived in baldur's gate for a while and eventually found faith in bahamut (though i think maybe she'd also pray to tempus because he doesn't like needless bloodlust/emphasizes honorable combat. which i feel the gith who trained her did not do. possibly prays to other gods too idk, i feel she respects most of them to at least some degree) and became a tempest cleric.

she has some other unpleasant shit in her backstory because trying to live as a githyanki in faerun suuucks and um. well. people do not believe she's anything but a bloodthirsty warmongerer half the time. you can imagine how badly she has been treated because of this. is incredibly wary of people who fetishize her species for. um. reasons. it wouldn't be one of my characters if they didn't get abused i guess. shrugs. (i'm being flippant here but i just dont wanna go into it rn lol)

anyway she was inspired ooc by the one gith teen you meet who is like "this senseless violence fucking sucks" and gets killed for it. i wanted to make someone who survives i guess. who gets out pretty early and just like. lives in faerun and has a shit time but then starts to have a better time. yay.

oh right also their name is quorst'lar which is a combination of two fun name suggestions i found online. people sometimes call them quorst or t'lar for short.

i'm planning to have them use the 'create water' spell to cause all kinds of havoc with lightning in combat >:)

OH right also they really like pastels and especially the colour pink, hence their dyed hair. in general they really want like. a soft life. but that's just not how things worked out for them.

music show promotions will begin on thursday DECEMBER 14. during the first week, they will perform both 'MY TIME' and 'GENERATION', then, starting from the 18, will only perform the main title track; 'GENERATION'. due to year end shows and awards, this round of promotion will likely be halted after their second week, depending broadcast scheduling. nonetheless, in JANUARY during the first broadcast of the year of each music shows, the girls will be performing "DITTO".

just like during their debut promotions, the girls will be visiting KBS' FM 'KISS THE RADIO' where they will sing 'GENERATION', 'MY TIME' and 'DITTO' live. this will be followed by a recording of 'RIDE' and 'GENERATION' with a live band for 'it's LIVE'. the group will also appear on STUDIO CHOOM to perform 'GENERATION'.

this time, the girls will appear on 'WEEKLY IDOL', where they will participate in the following segments: RANDOM PLAY DANCE, FANS WISHLIST and WEEKLY PLAYLIST.

fanmeetings will also be made more difficult due to year end activities, and only limited to around DECEMBER 14 to DECEMBER 22, after their pre-recording/schedules, the members will be having ( almost ) daily fansigns or online video calls with the fans. you may use this as an opportunity to write netizen articles if you wish to do so.

after laying out the promotion plans, SHINHYE announces to the girls that they will then be given a full WEEK OFF after the completion of their schedules.

Okay I just re-read Bendis' Uncanny run (somewhat quickly) and I have new thoughts. Yes it's the arc of Eva Bell, but narratively it's Bendis starting to put the toys back in the box.

After Tempus threatens him and gives a very biased account of his death, Scott breaks down and gives up on the revolution. He closes the Weapon X school, pushes Emma away, and resolves to turn himself in for the events of AvX. Seeing as the government tried to kill him for that already it's hard to see it as anything other than martyring himself. Or worse, giving up on the idea that he has any value to mutants.

Alex of all people talks him out of it and they end up calling a press conference in DC with every mutant present. He admits he called the revolution out of frustration and the X-Men's view of him cools down a little. Tonally it's a bit weird because we've just seen a run where he was 100% right, SHIELD have been oppressive fuckheads, and the X-Men fully admit that he's not culpable for the Phoenix possession (but they hate him anyway.) His Malloy approach had the best results next to everyone else's (not a high bar) and Malloy only starts to really lose it when the only people who tried to help him are butchered.

The Matthew Malloy situation showed us that even Beast despaired when zero governments or hero groups had any interest in helping at all, even on something that concerned everyone. Then Beast snitched anyway and SHIELD annihilate the very ground Scott, Magik, and Matthew are standing on - explicitly calling it an assassination. Malloy survives obviously.

So in the end Eva's actions erased Malloy from existence, un-killed a bunch of people, undid Beast and SHIELD's atrocious behaviour, merged the two X-schools, and deradicalised Cyclops to a degree. He took her words very seriously and gave up on everything he was doing. Complete and total shut down. There's definitely a bunch of OOC moments (Magneto and Storm stuck out to me the most) and the tension still exists, but the revolution is deescalated to a place where Extraordinary X-Men could go in a different direction if it chose.

No idea how much latitude Bendis had with that, though he did have his hands on the wheel since House of M. Looking at it like that it's frustrating to get this in universe retcon that affects the whole text so drastically, but no more than any other X-Men return to status quo moment.

Tempus tells off Chuck and Scott

Matthew Molloy was a mutant that was considered too powerful to exist. Instead of seeing that to its logical conclusion, he was retconned out of existence by Tempus and Xavier preventing his parents from meeting. I'll touch on that whole thing another time, but the aftermath is interesting. Chuck glibly tells Evs she's either the best or worst mutant ever, and she's like 'you have no room to talk dude.' Him wiping his own memory is so Charles Xavier.

Tempus then returns to the present and lets Cyclops have it. I think we're supposed to agree with her as an author mouthpiece, but 'nah this innocent dude had to die/be erased from history and opening a dialogue with him was irresponsible' is a pretty crappy moral. I like Tempus but this feels like a hypocritical position to take. Still, it's nice to see a young woman telling the old dudes off. 🤘

some bullet points i think about zerxus and the information we haven’t  ( yet )  been given about him: 

he’s a farm boy in cathmoíra, where he grows up with nydas  ( i feel like the okiros were fisherfolk, but that depends on the nydas writer, of course ).  they’re both poor kids just making it work down below the floating city, doing their best.  but while nydas dreams of the skies, zerxus never does.  he would have been content to stay in cathmoíra forever, had he not met and fallen in love with evandrin. 

he’s a raging homosexual, gay as they come  ( we know this, i feel like, but i needed it in writing ) 

he cries the first time he holds elias  ( luis is a crybaby, and so is zerxus ),  and he loves him instantly, even before he’s figured out that he loves evandrin. 

nydas is the only member of the ring of brass zerxus doesn’t meet through evandrin.  his closeness with each of them develops more after evandrin’s passing, though he loves them all deeply as family even before he is named first knight in evandrin’s stead.  oddly to most, given their conflicting natures and personalities and skills, it is patia he loves the most and the fastest of his new friends.

I’m gonna mention a few fics by name that have me hooked (some of them I’m pretty sure that have been discontinued but if there’s no note from the author then I’ll keep waiting 🤞)

1. On the edge of seventeen by Scratchienails (obviously) [ao3]

When I saw that the third chapter came out I went so feral I couldn’t read it for a full 45 minutes. That’s all I’m gonna say, I have three other full posts dedicated to this fic

By the same author theres also “But the sea changes colours” it’s based around the same idea that Roger never died but Roger and Shanks steal baby Luffy from Garp and Dragon (it’s very funny but I think it’s been discontinued)

2. A boy with a scar by Syluk [ao3]

It’s a fic about Luffy having been taken as a slave when he was a child and how this affects the story. It has 33 chapters and counting and IT IS SO GOOD AA. Really love when authors take into account all the consequences the changes of the au would have in canon, I mean, like characters that haven’t met the main crew yet still doing things off frame. And the characterization is on point, I love that

At first I was kind of hesitant bc Luffy was kind of out of character and everyone hated him, but as the chapters went on the little cryptid fuck grew on me and so did on the other characters. It has 24 chapters and counting and it’s really fun how asl interact with the heart pirates (though I’m kind of only interested in luffy but that’s just bc I’m hyperfixating)

5. Beyond blood by Justcallmecookie [fanfiction]

This one has permanently marked me and I will never forget about it. It’s about Luffy running away from the government and trying to find Ace after they find out he is Dragon’s son and call on a buster call on Dawn island. Sadly it’s been discontinued but it’s still a really good plot, story and writing overall

Though there is this fic (Blood is thicker then water by ImHyperfixatingdontBotherMe [ao3]) that is inspired by this one and kind of taking their own spin on it. It’s still ongoing and I do recommend it even though it doesn’t have the same vive as the original

6. Colour the ocean red (to prove my love to you) by Epiphany_Of_SummerSunsets [ao3]

It’s super cute with mer teen Shanks and little Luffy, I love their interactions and with there were more fics about them. I also like the mystery with the murders going around and the fact that they made Rouge Garps daughter. Really in love with the whole Monkey D. Gol D. family with asl + Buggy

7. Luffy is Lost in The MHA/BNHA world, but he gets taken in by the Yaoyorozu's and attends school by AndreiStrambeanu [ao3]

Okay the title is pretty self explanatory and it may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I was bored and it was entertaining. The writing is kinda ass sometimes and there are a lot of plotholes (of which the author is concious about and doesn’t give any fucks) but it IS the author’s first fic (at least published on ao3) so I’ll give them the pass. It is meant to entertain not be a magnum opus, and it does it’s purpose. It is also still ongoing so I’ll take whatever I can

Really cute with little Shanks time traveling and ending up with the strawhats, it only has 4 chapters and unfortunately I think it has been discontinued but it had a really good plot and didn’t feel ooc which adds extra points

9. Oden’s eldest by Alexiledit [ao3]

I’ll be careful with this one cause I know the author is on tumblr

I really like it, but not for the fic itself unfortunately, but for the posts about it they have on their tumblr (which expand much more on the au). The fic has one chapter and I think it’s been discontinued, the writing isn’t magnificent but I like the plot. I’ve actually made several pieces of fanart bc this au stuck to my brain and refused to let go for some time. I have a bad habit of taking characters I love and putting them in already existent family dynamics with characters that have nothing to do with them, so I see why I loved this au so much

There are others like Old truths by GreaterAwareness [ao3] Flashy brotherhood by Airuna [ao3] and Tomorrow before yesterday beguins by Staryty [ao3] (this one I’m still halfway though) which have amazing plots and writing but I got kind of bored (I think bc they focused more on Ace or other characters other than Luffy and I exclusively read Luffy centric fics) but they are amazing anyway and should still be acknowledged like the rest.

The Expac, Upcoming Performances and the like

So being relatively new to FF (It was just a year..wow..tempus fugit), I had never lived through an expac before. I played WoW for years but only once was around when an expac hit and that was the last one, Battle For Azeroth. So not really knowing exactly what to expect I approached Shadowbringers with trepidation. At least 4-6 weeks prior it was all anyone could talk about, venues were closing down already in anticipation, RP was slowing, events were starting to dry up. as someone who primarily was a roleplayer I was nervous.

Honestly even now it feels like the RP scene has not quite recovered. I have been doing a bunch of PVE and of course spending time with the greatest gift of a partner I could hope for, @mai-takeda, and that has really kept things enjoyable.

Sadly, with the aforementioned venue closings, it means 3 of my regular stages are gone including 1 regular weekly and 2 where I played at least 2-3 month at least. recently I have shifted a lot of my effort to macroed song and dance performances from back when I used to play in performance mode using my keyboard. I still do the latter but for various reasons I will not delve into, I have made the shift. Now I pretty much only play in limited engagements, by request, or at private gatherings.

All this said, currently I am seeking new engagements and stages and maybe even a troupe to join. I enjoy freelancing and hope to continue to play some of the stages I already frequent that have been kind enough to welcome me (Special shout outs to Shroudrose Teahouse and Wanderer’s Elysium/Keeper’s Kiss!) but I am looking for ways to expand and perhaps a group to fit in with if such a place exists!

Anyway if you have ideas or leads for me, please do not hesitate to reach out.

I most definitely ,,, *sticks leg out* ,,, will tell you my favorite snarry fics but I make no promises that they’ll be anything you’ve not read before. Also, because I’m very opinionated, imma give a brief little blurb of my opinion for each.

My Favorite Snarry Fics (in no particular order):

Because I Love You, You Idiot by TheMightyFlynn

I’m rereading this at the moment, actually. It’s so so so so wonderful. It’s a creature fic with Sev as a Veela. It’s arguably a little OOC, but it’s so full of sexy smut and warm fluff that I just can’t stop rereading it. I highly recommend it. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve reread this thing. I love this Severus because he’s still him, but it’s like an indulgent him, if that makes sense. My favorite line in any fic ever comes from this fic. 

With Eyes Wide Open by suitesamba

This one kind of frustrates me at times because I wish it was a bit more… emotional? It’s a forced marriage between Harry and Sev, and I’d say it’s a little more realistic than some in regards to their relationship. I just sometimes find myself so desperate for them to get super emotional at the end, but this is not an extreme fluff fic. I LOVE the subtleness of how Severus is shown to be so attracted to Harry (all I’m going to say is rutting. you’ll know when you get there). It’s a lovely fic. Also it has touches of jealousy in it which are delicious.

The Courtship of Harry Potter by Diana Williams

I’d recommend this for anyone starting out in courtship fics. It’s rather tame as courtship fics go. Not smutty (though, if I remember correctly, there is some sexy times). It’s a wonderful and easy read. Severus is great, and it’s quite funny.

Nature’s Changing Course by Durrant

I’m not too much of a fan of de-aged fics, but this one is so sweet. Sev (who is de-aged) and Harry are in their last year of school post the Battle of Hogwarts. Harry is so sweet and innocent. Sev is unsure and adorable. It’s also got amazing teenage lust that leaves you gushing kudos for the author for writing such hotness that somehow is the utmost of cuteness.

Changed and its sequel Claimed by Sablesilverrain

Omegaverse. These are sort of my guilty pleasure. I’ve not actually read these in a good while. Harry is an Omega and Sev is an Alpha and it is hot hot hot. Like I said, my guilty pleasure.

Secrets of Midnight by Lizzy0305

Definitely OOC. Severus just… doesn’t act like that. But I love it so shhhh. It’s hot and fluffy and SO AMAZING OH MY GOD IT’S LIKE TWO FICS IN ONE. I see it as broken into two parts. The first part is student-teacher relationship. It’s hot and fluffy and makes my heart happy. The second part is post Battle of Hogwarts. It’s delicious and wonderful and my heart soars. Some of the lines in this are just so funny I can’t even. I don’t want to spoil it for you but AHHHHHH. Read it. You gotta. 

The Unexpected Omega by Nagabelle

Omegaverse (obviously). It’s an au in more ways than having alphas and omegas in it. The smut will steam up your windows, so watch out. The sequel The Unexpected Heir is still incomplete and it kills me because I need to know how it ends. It’s another guilty pleasure fics. I love a good omega fic.

A Convenient Marriage by Diana Williams 

OH MY GOD THE JEALOUSY IS MOUTHWATERING. I love, love, love, love the latter half of this fic. Oh it’s so delicious and wonderful. Severus is so *swoons* with his jealousy and his protectiveness. Ugh. If you’re looking for a realistic forced marriage thing but with fluff and sexiness, I recommend this wonderful fic.

Of The Passion of Potters by Brego_Mellon_Nin

Sometimes you just gotta read a smutty fic. This is deliciously smutty right from the start. It’s quick paced, and an easy read. Oh, and there’s this scene which involves Flitwick that I just love to bits. Oh, Severus. It’s so so funny.

A True Match by LilRinnieB

Fluffy happiness with some lovely smut thrown in. It’s another indulgent fic of mine that I love to reread when I want a confident and forward Severus that knows exactly what (read: who) he wants and an oblivious Harry.

Between the Lines and anything else by Dementordelta

Harry gets to know the Half Blood Prince by communicating how he did with Tom in that diary. Harry is so cheeky and I love reading Sev slowly losing his self control around him. Also, everything Dementordelta writes is just wonderful?????

Vampire!Severus is lip licking good. Oh this story has everything I love. Jealousy, mates, smut, teasing, possessiveness, humour, fluff, and Severus losing his tightly held control because Harry James Potter is a sexy little fucker whom he loves very much.

Jealousy Is the Best Policy by Lomonaaeren

I honestly read this fic over and over again just to get to the end of it where Sev is an absolute savage and Draco is told to fuck off in the most wonderful (and luckily for Harry, pleasurable) of ways.

Arbitrium Liberum by Lizzy0305

Sev’s ego and smugness bite him in the bum and it is GLORIOUS. Professor Potter is having serious issues with this free spirited Severus. Honestly, what I wouldn’t give for a day with Sev under the affects of this potion. 

Playing With Matches by Emynn

Harry, Harry, Harry. My poor little oblivious Chosen One. When will you ever learn. Severus needs to also get it through that cute little skull of his that Harry doesn’t take subtle hints. Smash him against the wall and kiss him dizzy, Sev. This match making fic is so entertaining. Sometimes I like to hurt myself with reading pining, and this has got glorious pining in it.

Sudden Urges by lilyseyes

Sev has no self control and it’s just great. SHAG HIM SEV. SHAG HIM SILLY.

Parable of the Talents by Lomonaaeren

Another guilty pleasure fic. Jealousy and some poor misguided soul thinking he can get Sev who is clearly Harry’s and we all know it. Sev has no mercy and no chill. Oh, Severus. Oh, Harry. 

Going Green by Emynn

The ending always has me like !!!!!! Severus you idiot. You of all people should know the importance of word choice. Also: Miscommunication can FUCK OFF. 

Tempus by Suziesu74

Guilty pleasure. Student-Teacher fic with Harry back in the past and Sev is the student. It’s got lots of smut, and I’ll tell you now can be a bit… problematic if I’m honest. Sev is underage (I’m pretty sure) and Harry does some questionable things. But it’s just one of those fic’s I keep coming back to. Also, I love the plot. It’s a unique execution on time travel fics. 

One of a Kind by Emynn

OH MY GOSSHHHHHHH. It’s so short but it’s so sweet. I wish there was so much more. The jealousy in it kills me. I LOVE how protective of Harry Severus is. I don’t want to ruin it, but Sev’s reaction during the dueling? Oh. I can’t. He’s so wonderfully protective. I love him so. I just love the premise. I want more.

The Boy Who Lived a Bit and its sequel Care of Magical Creatures by Barbarella

My literal favorite fics of all time. This is SO in character. I think that’s why I love it so much. It’s got heart stopping smut and fluff. The plot if AMAZING. They are completely themselves. It’s so wonderful because it’s everything you want in a fic and with our beloved otp of snarry, and yet it is so realistic that you can totally see this being real. I love it. SO SO SO SO SO much. I mean this is my favorite of all time. In any fandom. These two fics are just THE BEST. 

The Fire Call Series by Flic

Made up of several shorter fics as chronological order sequels. It’s a great mix of sexy and fluffy. You know how sometimes you find a wonderful series but the last fic in it kind of makes it end ‘meh’ like? Skinny Latte, which is the last fic, is a super sweet ending to the series. Which I was so happy about. 

Sunrises and its sequel Happily Ever After by Julia the Younger 

Oooooooh. The angst!!!!!! Let me tell you how much I do not like super angsty fics. hella. I hella don’t like them. But the angst in this is worth it. It’s a more realistic fic, and unlike Barbarella’s two realistic fics, it takes the realism in a not-as-blissful-and-fluffy-but-still-quite-happy path. Also the jealousy provides a grand moment in Sunrises and Happily Ever After’s ending is so sweet.

So as you can tell, I really like jealous!Severus and Possessive!Severus and Protective!Severus. I think it’s because I feel like Sev is a jealous, possessive, and protective man. So, it sort of makes sense to me that he’d be like that and to see him put those to Harry out of love and lust makes me feel all warm and tingly inside. I also love mates and bonds. I think it’s so romantic when they’re fated <3 Especially since I don’t see it as loving each other because they’re mates, but as the universe knowing they’ll love each other so perfectly and wonderfully that it says ‘fuck it I don’t wanna risk my otp not getting together make ‘em Officially Mates™.’

INVERSO TEMPUS [closed]

For the first time since they’d begun these Canon jumps months ago, Rose Tyler had landed inside of a women’s loo. The loo hadn’t been empty at the time either, and Rose had sufficiently scared the holy ghost out of a poor unsuspecting girl who had been washing her hands. That girl had begun to scream for security, and had run from the loo nearly instantly with Rose right behind her attempting to think of some sort of reasonable lie. As soon as Rose stepped out of the loo however, she stopped in her tracks and felt a twinge of anxiety slice into her abdomen. Oh no.

People were starting to filter out of doorways and stairwells, curious as to what the commotion was, and they were all staring right at Rose. Apparently the loo was inside of a Uni building, which meant security cameras as well. Sodding brilliant. Even if none of these strangers noticed the smoke rising from her blue leather jacket or the fact that her clothing was slightly different than theirs, those bloody cameras would. Hearing another round of screaming from the girl coming from another corridor, Rose turned briefly to the curious eyes staring at her and said, “Huge rat. Came right at us. Might wanna call pest control.” before turning on her heel and legging it down the corridor after the terrified girl. 

If Torchwood or UNIT found out about this she’d probably be taken into custody again and she didn’t fancy losing another month’s worth of jumps as time was in such short supply already. When Rose turned down the final first-level corridor, however, she saw the girl vanish behind two double doors that lead outside at the end of the hall and knew she would never catch her in time.

“Dammit!” She shout-whispered, kicking the wall next to her and breathing heavily from her wasted efforts. If she told Micks or Owen about this over the Comm, they would immediately activate the Canon and bring her back, despite her not even knowing where and when she was or if she’d managed to finally find the Doctor’s proper timeline. Anything she planned to do she had to do before she turned on her wrist Comm, and she had to sort it out before she ended up in some Torchwood cell underground or worse, a UNIT medical lab.

Leaning back against the wall she’d just assaulted, she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths, contemplating her options.

Time Twice Fleeting (Re: Summer)

Summer is aware, now, that she’s carrying the mysterious disease even if she’s not infected with it herself. She has quarantined herself to Mordecai’s bedside, and will not leave it without good reason. She is ONLY reachable via text (just send an ask).

Okay, NWM recap for those who care about what happened to Bea (extremely condensed despite the length and probably missing a lot, because I don’t think I had more than about five consecutive minutes of downtime).

Spoilers for overall semester two plot to some extent; best to avoid if you’re playing in the next few weeks:

- had to watch her best friend Vita get “fixed” by her mother and was totally helpless to do anything

- nearly started sobbing when Vita turned into a perfect Unsoiled lady and started referring to Bea solely as “Hamilton”

- then helped lead a ritual to bring back Vita, using a combination of unorthodox healing techniques, mind magic, and Vita’s sister’s memories

- found out Vita knew her mother was going to do this and let her whammy her so she could gather evidence

- had a little bit of a panic attack

- THIS WAS ALL THE FIRST HOUR OF THE GAME

- participated in the Dan Obeah house ritual and bound herself to the house in a moment that was nice and good and definitely not setting up for her to be a self-sacrificing disaster child

- led a tempus magic study group that accidentally summoned a slagerod from another time  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- couldn’t send the slagerod back because it was magically tied to her mentee, Ari, who was definitely not evil and she could trust with her life

- gave said slagerod to the care of Ari, which was a fine and safe decision

- was handed a postcard during morning announcements by Bastian and suddenly gained his magical ability (and could not find Bastian to figure out what the frick he’d done)

- spent morning cursebreaking class surreptitiously making an artifact for the ritual to separate Ari from the slagerod

- was mostly a reasonable person during ethics class but kept being distracted by Bastian’s magic being a fricking pain

- skipped PE to go to ritual magic, in large part because I could not find the PE classroom for the life of me (also neither Bea nor I wanted to do PE)

- went to track down Bastian

- found out that he had switched his prophecy with hers (and his prophecy was tied directly to his magic)

- demanded that he change it back

- when he refused to, tried to mindbreak him but aborted that partway through when she accidentally discovered that he’d done all of this because he cared about her and didn’t want her to die and knew that she wouldn’t do anything about her prophecy unless he had it

- Bea had a really bad Friday morning

- also people kept coming up to her and being like, “You’re going to DIE????  What the frick, Bea????” and she was like, “It’s FINE; I just need my prophecy back because BASTIAN isn’t allowed to DIE”

- found out that Ari had lent the slagerod to Savia

- freaked out a little bit

- performed a ritual to sever Jae and Ari’s connection to the slagerod

- found out Ari had a gorecaster mark because she was being controlled by an evil version of herself from an alternate timeline

- freaked out a lot

- had to go to mind magic class, where Bastian showed up and was smug and terrible and also had Bea’s tick for dealing with anxiety and mindreading overload which made her profoundly pissed at him (”He has my tick!  He stole my tick!”)

- accidentally found out Barius had a crush on her leading to some PROFOUNDLY AWKWARD CONVERSATION

- was terrified of everything in cryptozoology class and then failed a crypto quiz very, very hard

- was there for Jay’s mom showing up and shielded Savia using tempus magic before yelling, “I don’t want to do this again!  I don’t want to do this again!” but fortunately was not set on fire this time

- got a new, actual wand made by Lee

- managed to change her prophecy with the help of Bell and the Artificier Association and The Trickster so that she wasn’t fated to die anymore

- discovered that if she just handed Bastian the postcard back their fates would be switched back

- everyone else turned around while she punched him in the face

- had a conversation with Barius about being ace which was just...nice

- sent back the evil version of Ari to her original timeline after separating it from the real version

- was promoted to house president with Jayden

- wrote letters of recommendation for Robin and Ari to join the Tribunal

- performed a forensic ritual with Prof. Oxendine and Vita to track who had been using the slagerod the study group accidentally summoned

- was having an okay and fine time with Jay when suddenly Jason showed up possessed by Thanatos Akeldama and started raising revenants and wreaking havoc

- sprinted to the ritual room to inform The Conclave

- helped coordinate the defense against Thanatos 

- shielded the ritual to exorcise Jason with tempus magic since she was the only tempus mage there powerful enough to pull it off

- getting to swap over from “tempus minorum” to “tempus majorum” (which she had never cast!!! Bea, don’t do this) when she realized that she wasn’t casting with enough power was a danged cool moment for me that I don’t think was noticed by anyone else (this is what fic is for)

- gave up at minimum 2 1/2 hours of her life in order to shield that ritual (that was the calculation we came up with at the time; in hindsight, I think it was actually significantly more than that, given the number of people involved and the amount of time she was holding that danged spell)

- accidentally unstuck herself from time because she way overextended  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

- was fortunately brought back to the present by her friends (although not without saying some Extremely Weird stuff about their futures) and then yelled at for being a self-sacrificing disaster child

- led the ritual to induct new members of The Conclave, including two members of her tempus magic study group!

- had an Extremely Bad Time during her first astromancy exam because she had to face the three Fates and A. she’s terrified of prophecy and B. they were Not Happy that she’d been messing with fate (however unwillingly) the previous day

- got a prophecy that happiness would always be just beyond her reach

- was very chill about this because she was like, “Well, I wasn’t expecting to be happy anyway” (calm down, Bea)

- was bound together by Fate to three other students, leading to the creation of the Fantastic Four

- also found out that her death would be totally useless and accomplish nothing

- came back to a slagerod sitting out in The Pit and spent a couple of minutes in panic mode, watching Ari to make sure that she wasn’t going evil again

- then had a complete and total meltdown because pretty much all of her self-worth was wrapped up in her utility to others and also she blamed Bastian for messing up her fate (she would rather die young and useful than live a long, useless life; yikes, Bea)

- fortunately was talked down/yelled at by a whole bunch of people

- basically, she spent 2-3 hours sobbing on Saturday morning; good times

- had a surprisingly okay second astromancy exam, probably because mindreading is what she’s really good at

- helped Milo plan a ritual

- confessed to Barius that she’d been self-medicating with tempus magic for pretty much the full year

- helped shield aforementioned Milo-led ritual by calling on her connection to the school wards because she’s smart but not, like, THAT smart

- found out that channeling the school wards by herself is doable but extremely painful; wound up limping for the rest of the event (OOC my entire left leg gave up on life so I’m glad I had an IC reason to be limping)

- confessed to Milo and Hana that she’d been self-medicating with tempus magic, which freaked them out a bit

- Milo convinced her to go to addiction support group with him

- also had a nice conversation with Milo about being ace

- found out that Jayden had been hiding some pretty substantial secrets and was planning on leaving the school for good

- freaked the frick out but also offered to help them escape even though she knew it meant she would have to lead the house alone

- attended graduation and teared up through pretty much every speech because she kept thinking about Jayden

- took Vita to the dance

- was made house president during the dance because of legal technicalities

- Jayden told her that staying was a mistake and Bea said, “If that’s a mistake, it’s one I want to make” THEREBY FULFILLING HER CHANGED PROPHECY

- I’m still in awe that that worked out like that what the frickin’ heck

- Jayden stayed

- Dan Obeah didn’t win the house cup but Bea was super proud of her house anyway!

Anyway, brace yourselves for so much fricking fic.  It’s going to happen.  Brace yourselves.
