it's easy to fall for bunny but it's hard to fall in love with bunny, if that makes sense. kinda hard to love and stay in love with a guy who can't stomach all the joy he sees in your eyes when you're with him. who treats giving and receiving affection like you're just trading bracelets at a concert or candies at lunchtime. who treats you well because he's not so much of an ass that he'd mistreat you on purpose (because he likes you, genuinely) but also keeps you at arm's length. you fall for his pretty face and that effortless charm, sure, but honestly? it's easier for you to like him as a friend than to ever seriously consider him as a lover. he makes it easy. he jokes instead of flirts, is thoughtful without being too giving, and looks at you with no expectation. being his friend is the kinder, easier option. for both you and him. even though it makes his skin crawl and his bones ache with the force of his wanting

sorry for the radio silence on day 5 post-challenge updates and puzzle week conclusions. I have not even Started any of the necessary grading or artwork.

my current priority is actually schoolwork? so. i have been. doing schoolwork and taking breaks to draw my other characters in the meantime. I will pick up work for day five today after I do my homework and you'll hopefully hear from me regarding the conclusion of this event by this weekend. God willing. No later than Sunday, April 20.

Sorry for dragging this out for all four evers, but thank you immensely for your patience and flexibility, especially regarding things like Me And My Major Mistake Of Accidentally Missing Four Sudokus. I would rather be a little late than cut corners on production quality to meet deadlines.

Dick. For the canon isn't real square I am Specifically talking about the Tom Taylor Nightwing run. Usually I ignore bad runs but given this one is ongoing (though about to end THANK GOD and get replaced by Dan Watters who i have high hopes for since i adored his Sword of Azrael (2022) run but i digress) so I counted it. Especially since it's so debated if that run is bad or not, for some reason. I'm a 90s Nightwing truther. I love Dick so dearly and tbh recently I've been more enamored with him the more I read his Discowing era, I didn't used to be as big of a Dick stan as I am these days.

Bruce. Honestly where do you even start with Bruce. I want to fist fight him and also patch him up. He got me into comics and superheroes as a whole but I roll my eyes whenever he shows up in a story. He's a bastard and usually not a good father but also complex and should be dissected under a magnifying glass. I love him dearly. He's also just the worst. I think that's why I love him. I'm always a fan of unabashedly Complicated Asshole Bruce who's generally not always the best person, particularly not to the Batfamily and that being the driving force of his relationships with them, especially in shipping.

And for bonus points, Tim. Because know above all else, I'm a Tim Drake kinnie /deg. He's been my number one for a decade and I've yet to uproot him from my brain. He's literally the Worst half the time and I love him for it. And the canon isn't real refers to Tim Drake: Robin because... that sure was a comic. And that's about all I can say about it. Pre-Flashpoint Tim I miss you so dearly. I think it's fun that I want to put him in a blender and drink the juice but also want Nothing Ever to happen to him.

Btw, you all need to know that Alastor is a very sweet, affectionate drunk. Like, he's one of those guys alcohol  does something to and not even in a necessarily "bad" way. I def headcanon this is very much what Mimzy was talking about when she said "put on some jazz and pour a couple of fingers of rye and he becomes a kitten." And Mimzy would know ! If you wanna turn the sadistic, haughty cannibal freak into a fluffy, contented jovial twink then, yeah, get him drunk. Which is all extra funny to me cause we know scientifically that like, theres a sense of truth in the saying that people become their real selves when they're drunk, thus implying that Alastor is somehow a genuinely nice guy when you turn the, uh, other things off.

me still chewing on this (i say, apropos of nothing), but it's hard to find the exact words i want to use when i say that emmrich has the vibe of a badly socially adjusted homeschooler? that he's sheltered? i think it's because there's an inherent awkwardness in how he approaches other people - specifically most of the conversations he has with everyone in the lighthouse - verses how he talks to, like, myrna and vorgoth.

i absolutely don't think it's a lack of confidence, at all, when talking to, say, neve or davrin or even rook, but with some of the things he asks, it's clear he can't parse the reasonings for some things? like...they're outside of his realm of experience, or are clearly a bad idea to someone else, or require a certain social understanding he lacks, so he comes across as naive when he's not. he's just...sheltered.

compared to how his conversations with myrna and vorgoth vibe, where he's clearly speaking from a place of experience and knowledge. it sounds less like he's got this really neat factoid he wants to share - because he doesn't have to frame it in that way, there's an understanding between them - and there is some...i guess speaking with authority that he might lack in other things.

morning everyone!! with next week being prioritised by this blog, i thought it would be good to mention i'm definitely considering completing my rules overhaul. i have my other blogs theme to finish but after that i will be updating this blogs theme and what i can advise to expect.

a.) new rules (this will come before the theme and ill make a seperate post on it - no major changes, i just don't like how i wrote them 4 years ago!) b.) muse additions ( my lack of phone has pushed me into picking up my switch again and i've finished one virch.e route so expect additions - will also make a post on who they are once the muses are up. ) c.) either a following sort out / me copying what i did with my other blog by doing a meme spam to various mutuals? (i need to do it more on my other blog but between the two ... yeah.) d.) compalnion update!
