Tiny little pitcher!

I have absolutely no idea what this is good for, tbh. One serving of milk for your tea, if your mug isn't too big? Using as a vase for very small flowers? Just decoration? idk! Would love to hear if anyone has any ideas -- I use small bowls a lot, but I'm curious what people might use tiny pitchers for, if anything!

Anyway I was on a kick of making tiny things last month, so I ended up making a bunch of little bowls and jugs in both white and black clay. Expect more posts with 'em!

It’s midnight but I’m sick of keeping my mouth shut so here’s my really stupid AU:

The Curtis family can see ghosts. The gang knows this. Only believe it because they’ve shown evidence in some form. BUT each Curtis has their own spin. Ponyboy can only see ghosts he’s dreamed about (so they have to invade his dream or daydream snd it usually becomes a main form of communication), Darry can hear all ghosts better than the other two, like overlapping voices sometimes, and Soda can feel them. As in their aura/emotions. Touch them too.

This brings me to my next point: Mr. and Mrs. Curtis would be much more different. Darry’s getting constant advice, listening to the voices on how to raise his brothers. Ponyboy’s in his head more than ever. Soda’s always reaching out for a hug that can’t really ever be returned, and it freaks the gang out, but they leave it for the most part. Then Johnny dies. Darry hears someone screaming in so loudly he swears his eardrums are broken. Soda absorbs the fear and panic. “Dally’s gonna kill himself! You gotta stop him! And Ponyboy’s just wanderin’ around, you gotta get them both!” Johnny cries as he waves his arms around. He was at peace for only his last moments. But now Dally’s going and pulling things he shouldn’t. Soda runs to the truck and Darry explains to Two-Bit and Steve and they go in search of Ponyboy

They still don’t make it. The brothers hold each other as they watch the process of death in real time. Of Dally’s soul leaving his body. Steve and Two-Bit are shaking them, screaming, even slapping them because they know they’re seeing something worse than them. They can’t even grieve in the moment their friends are literally being haunted.

Seriously though, there's some fantastic contrast between them. They're just similar enough (both roughly the same age, both insecure and glory hungry, + their "shared father" or whatever Lafayette said) - and yet they manage to be exact opposites at the same time.

I could say more but I think this bit from Mike Duncan's biography about Lafayette basically gets at what I'm trying to say:

"Like Lafayette, Hamilton grew up without a father. He also lost his mother to a fatal illness at almost the same age Lafayette lost his. But where the tragedies of Lafayette’s childhood made him the heir of a fabulous fortune, the tragedies of Hamilton’s illegitimate childhood left him systematically cut out of his family’s inheritance. So where the dark clouds of Lafayette’s life were lined with silver, the dark clouds of Hamilton’s life were simply dark. Lafayette emerged from childhood buoyant and effusive, Hamilton cynical and reticent. Now, I am not qualified to speak on the real figures, but I do like to write. So, there is a narrative opportunity here that drives me insane.

Like, cast Hamilton as brilliant, but overly cynical with a habit of assuming the worst in people, and give him a negative character arc where he comes close to recognizing the potential good of humanity but ultimately falls into his more authoritarian tendencies. Then contrast him with Lafayette who's more naive. He's not quite sheltered but unfamiliar with the sort of selfishness and greed he'd have encountered if he grew up in a more vulnerable financial position. In coming to America he, like Hamilton, is forced to reckon with contempt, greed, and the failings of democratic government. But, unlike Hamilton, still manages to come out of it with a generally positive opinion of humanity.

I'm just saying, if I were writing history to contain ✨themes ✨ they are a perfect opportunity.

my god. guys. just gotta scream about some medical stuff for a second. you know how i've been ill for quite some time. like really nastily ill. bizarre migraines, constant fatigue/joint pain, awful depressive mood swings? well, alongside some proper migraine meds, my doctor prescribed me vitamin D tablets. and the black cloud is gone. the fatigue is gone. the pain is gone. what!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭 this reinforces my belief that vitamin/mineral deficiencies can be extra insidious for neurodivergent folks because we're so used to ignoring our pain, and our difficulties with eating a wide range of foods/getting outside enough/breaking our routine/etc. set us up to be deficient!! 💔

to be clear, my doctor and the NHS say that folks in my country ought to be taking vitamin D supplements during the winter months anyway. it's actually mandated for everyone and i had no idea. just. enormous relief. getting my bloods done in a couple of weeks to confirm, but i wasn't expecting such an immediate effect 😳 so if anyone's been feeling unusually fatigued, sick, with disturbed menstrual cycles, migraines and moodswings, and there's no underlying cause...see if you can get your bloods checked, and consult with your doctor. especially if you're ND/get less sunlight/have a restricted diet!!!!

While I’ve been making a bunch of posts pointing out what ‘greaser’ means in the context of the story and some harsh bits of reality. I’m a little concerned with how getting out/staying is treated. Because it’s bleeding into ‘poor people can never make a good life for themselves and it’s sad and horrible all the time if they don’t get rich or go to college.’

Let’s reel it back here a little from the doomerism? Yes, it’s hard and rough and a good portion of those on the east side will stay there — but that’s not this automatic damnation? It’s like what pony has to learn, you find the good and you build the best you can for yourself. Moving is not some magic fix all. Being working class you can still do alright/ make a life for yourself. It’s not a bad thing to be a mechanic or something like that— let’s not treat that like a failure?

Like yes in Darry and Pony’s pov is unfortunate and not fair but it’s — I’m losing my point, if someone gets what I mean please,
