Two clicking beetles I saw today!
First one was a Hemicrepidius niger, I think. The second one, Agrypnus murinus, felt threatened and did the typical maneuver of tightly pulling its legs toward its body.
When clicking beetles lie on their backs, they sometimes launch themselves upwards to then fall back onto their legs. This makes a clicking sound, thus the name.
This one didn't do the clicking and yanking itself into the sky though, just balanced itself to the side to get back on its feet. A little boring :-P

Can you tell us all the species of tarantulas/any other invertebrates you've owned? I'm curious as an invertebrate lover myself :D
Sure can!
E. murinus. Her name was Papyrus.
OBT
Hapalopus sp. Colombia, large and small.
T. albopilosus
Cobalt blue
B. smithi
N. chromatus
T. blondi
P. ornata
H. maculata
C. paganus, I think.
G. rosea
Lapis, who was sold to me as a cobalt blue sling and wasn't (avoid Backwater Reptiles at all costs), and I have no idea what she actually is.
I've also owned a couple of scorpions, vinegaroons, amblypigids, and a giant Vietnamese scorpion!

Spider Psychology.
P. Murinus a.k.a. Orange Bitey Thing has a bad reputation amongst the more sensationalist keepers (undeservedly so). They aren’t aggressive, they’re just scaredy cats and need a little tlc. If one isn’t defensive, it ain’t gonna need to defend. If there’s no threat, there’s no need for aggression. So… …I decided that a little relaxation therapy was in order. Looks pretty relaxing to me! I…

This blog was made to feature a lot of things very important to me, including plushies, robotics, animals, and invertebrate husbandry.
My favorite plush is floyd, an OshKosh B'gosh baby monkey plush I recieved on my first birthday. I am autistic, and he has been essential to me for most of my life. I would sign for him before I could talk.
My spiders are Penelope, Ralph and Particle Board. Penelope is a 3-4 year old venezuelan suntiger (P Irminia) who is likely female, Ralph is a unidentified tarantula sling and Particle board is a orange baboon tarantula (P murinus) sling.
I also have a colony of dairy cow isopods!
The bugs are under the cut

I haven’t done spider updates in a while so lemme share a couple of my new additions.
P. murinus “OBT” sling showing adult coloration and a very angry C. lividus “cobalt blue”. They are my first two Old World species and they are a fun challenge.
(Also got a b. hamorii “Mexican red knee” sling but they’re too teeny tiny to get a good shot of.)

Terror has been out of her lair more often in the past week than in the four or so months since I bought her. Must be the good weather, I guess.

Haven't shared yet! Here's my new little guys! Efram (OBT), a freebie I got who I have yet to name (n. chromatus) Leon Slut Kennedy and Claire (pumpkin patches), and Malice (g. pulchra). The pumpkin patches and n. chromatus are so stinkin' tiny and cute, they're enjoying some cricket legs rn. They are so small in fact that I had to improvise some smaller containers bc the air holes on the enclosures I made them were too big 👀
