"Omw, what did I agree to?", "Oh this is quite fun!", "Can I even paint?" -drops paintbrush on floor- "I don't think I can do this...", "Hey that doesn't look too bad.", "I've got this!", "Oh no, I did that part wrong. Have to repaint." -drops paintbrush on clothes- "Wow, it's done. I can't believe I did that." :)

“Season Cycle”

My family has owned a handmade Green Bay Packers themed clock for years. One day recently I looked at it and decided I needed to try making a clock! I went with a theme celebrating the cyclical quality of nature and time. I got the kit from Little Birdie brand and it was easy to assemble.

Posting after the break. I might post it a few other places later, idk yet. Thanks @paintedclocks & @tuesdayharkness for letting me borrow their cutie kitty Squat. Don’t forget to take your meds and/or eat something today and/or talk to that great person that makes you remember how awesome you are!

Their paws were making biscuits in the thick rug. An idle motion as they sat at their desk, like some background character in a video game. Eating oatmeal in some video game branded sleep pants and nostalgia covered t-shirt at the desk, was a good way to ease into the night. If this was a video game, they doubted they would even get more than a line of words when the PC came in just button mashing. The sleep pants were a perfect fit when they were like this, blue and purple fur covered digits being the only parts of their paws peeking out. Digits reached and pulled tufts of rug back and forth between the pad of each paw. The specialty earbuds set in their large triangle shaped ears blocked them from hearing the faint mew of the cat that was peeking from outside over the open window sill. A podcast playing through the earbuds beat out the louder meow the cat made as she jumped up onto the sill. Black, fluffy fur disappeared against the dark night outside as she sat down to look around. Kitty paws looking like an odd shadow on the white of the window sill. Their tail thumped against the floor and they chuckled at something said on the podcast. Gold irises zoomed tight as the cat focused on the sound of movement, unable to see through or around the desk her head bobbed jerkily to try and catch a better view. Letting out a rumbling question of a meow, the small triangle shaped ears stood stock still, listening for a response. Nothing came, her ears picking up the faint sound of their paws kneading against the rug. The half purring trill that came from her lips was covered in irritation. Don’t. Ignore. A. Cat. Paws concentrating together, the cat arched her back upward into a hard stretch before jumping to the back of a chair. She made movements to jump on top of the desk back shelving then decided against it, skittering down to the ground. Quickly, she padded around the edge of the small drawer set pressed to the side of the desk. Sitting down smartly, the cat looked up at them. Their focus on something on a computer monitor, they didn’t see the movement of a black, fluffy poof with golden eyes down beside them. Fed up with not being paid attention, the cat made a small irritated growl then pounced. Sharp claws dug into the fur at their tail tip. The claws sank past the tail tuft right into the thick skin it grew from. A gurgled grunt of pain fled them as they jerked hard in their seat, knees hitting the underside of the desk. Tail thrashing in panic only caused the cat to sink claws deeper. “OOOWWWWW! Ow, ow, ow, ow,” they chanted, attention sharply focusing on the source of the pain. They thumped their tail down in a solid smack and stared hard at the cat that rested atop, now licking and snorting at their tail tuft, claws not digging as sharp, “Squit Squat!” The nickname sounded through the large house, “What the hell, ya fluff monster?!” Earbuds pulled harshly from ears. Squit Squat ignored them for a moment, in favor of staring down an offended twig of fur sticking up. In a blink, the cat bit forward, realizing she didn’t want this much fur in her mouth and started trying to spit it out. Sighing, they lifted tail and cat upward, face wincing slightly as he sank claws a bit deeper again to stay on. Hugging the middle of their tail to themselves, they used gravity to dangle cat and tail tuft over the desk. It was an awkward landing that Squit Squat made look graceful. Keeping the tail hugged close, they looked at her until she decided to grace them with her attention, “Yes?” Taking one last swipe to move their mouse around, she looked them in the eyes before shaking as if to shake out her fur. A jingling sound caught their attention, ears twitching with the noise. Letting go of their tail, they reached forward with one hand to scratch under Squit Squat’s chin and the other to gently lift a gold circle hidden in her fur. Turning the collar trinket over and over, they waited until the words on both sides appeared. ‘Take’ on one side. Flip. ‘Pills’ on the other. Mentally they kicked themselves. They had forgotten again. Heather and Mack knew they had, hence Squat the Messenger. Both hands focused on scratching at Squit Squat’s shoulders and neck and ears, “Thank you for the message, Squat.” Her purr was loud and they could feel it in their elbows propped on the desk. Balancing the golden disk on their crooked finger, they breathed the word ‘Thank’ on one side and ‘You’ on the other. Magic warmed the circle and words exchanged places. Curling and flexing their paws, they stretched to standing to leave for the bathroom. Squat watched them leave, licked a forepaw for a moment then to the window sill. The darkness swallowed the witch’s and mermaid’s black fluff ball of a cat to the sound of running water and a medicine cabinet closing in the background.
