What: An event to highlight disability visibility in the Pedro Pascal and Oscar isaac fandom! Writings or art MUST include some disability. In the header, I have chosen 4 characters with canon disabilities, but you can write for anyone! For examples:

Why: It's important for all of us to look at the beautiful diversity of this fandom! There have been many discussions around race and gender/sexuality biases especially in the PPCU recently, and I want to not derail, but rather add to this conversation.

Rules: I'll try to keep it simple

Not a dead dove event: While dark content can be discussed or shown and I am not a dark hater, please no dead dove, non con etc. Not for this event.

Minor characters are allowed, but obviously no NSFW minors. You want to have Marc and reader in their teens, thats fine! but not smut.

No minors!: I am aware I cannot stop nor do I wish to stop minors from reading, but interacting with this event is strictly 18+

Non-disabled people can write, and disabled folk can write for disabilities they do not have, but do research: Reach out to friends who have a disability you want to write about. Watch youtube videos. Read book and blog posts. I'll link some resources at the bottom!

I think it’s a “FUCK or DIE” scene? Oh, don't worry, Padawan Din is no longer a minor, so he's up to be f…🤭(well, you know what I mean)

This piece was inspired by an artwork featuring a Padawan Din posted on Tumblr. I was like: "Aww, this is an excellent idea! I want to draw a Padawan Din too! The Padawan braid is the cutest thing, and I bet many people haven't seen photos of a young Pedro Pascal before, so I need to let you see it." So I combined these two photos and drew this Padawan Din.

In this AU, Din was still a foundling of the Mandalorians, but instead of taking the creed and becoming a warrior, he was found to be gifted with the Force. So he was taken to the Jedi Temple and trained to be a Jedi. To honor the Mandalorian who took him in when he needed it most, Din wears Mandalorian symbols on his Padawan outfit, and the Council allows it.

I imagine that Din would remain a Padawan longer than average. It's not that he doesn't excel in his training - on the contrary, he's an elite! He's always had the wish to protect the young, the weak, and his Master, so he's very dedicated to his training. But why hasn't he been knighted already? It's because he doesn't want to be separated from his Master!

Din is quite sentimental, just like we've seen him in the TV show. Once he thinks of someone as family, he'll never leave that person. But being knighted means he'll be sent on missions without his Master, and he can't bear that. He's failed his trials on purpose multiple times, and eventually the Council didn't want to push him anymore, either, because they sensed Din's doubts and that he wasn't mentally ready to become a Jedi Knight.

Din will become a Knight, that's for sure. Din knows it, and his Master is also persistently persuading him (although the Master is also getting harder to leave Din, too🤭). But for now, they'll just keep each other's company for a while longer…

I don't mind if anyone wants to use this setting to write fanfics, in fact, I'm totally encouraged! (I prefer Luke to be the Master, I love Obi-Wan too, but feel free to choose other characters.) Just let me know when the story is done, I’d love to read it!

Pedro Pascal Character Headcannons — Cuddles.

Joel Miller:

Joel can’t help but want to protect you, he revels in the way you fit so perfectly into his arms, back pressed flush against his chest. One arm drapes lazily over your waist, hand finding your abdomen to keep you close. His calloused fingers draw small circles over the skin, slipping a hand underneath the fabric of your shirt. Commentary on Materialists below & possible spoilers.

I know today is Materialists premiere day and I hope those who are watching the movie have fun, but it’s sort of ridiculous that Pedro Pascal only has about an estimated 10 minutes of screentime in an almost 2 hour movie. Ten whole minutes. Not to mention it’s clear that with the romcom formula, Dakota’s character won’t end up choosing the billionaire because in this political climate we can’t have someone who’s relatively in a higher wealth class be with someone in the same tax bracket or higher. But sure I guess, I mean there must be a valid reason as to why she goes back to the brokey right? Must be.

Anyways, it really is Gladiator 2 all over again where Pedro was used for immense promo because they knew his name would bring additional viewers but when you watch the movie his character is either underdeveloped or disregarded entirely. I know his limited screentime probably has to do with him taking on so many projects all at once and I can sympathize with that especially considering he’ll be affiliated with Marvel + Disney for a while, but it still sucks seeing this trend where POC are used for promotional content and are completely forgotten in the material itself. This also isn’t exclusive to just Pedro, but has happened with other actors like Manny Jacinto & now Simone Ashley in the F1 movie who practically had her scenes completely cut out to focus more on Brad Pitt like??? It’s hilarious that the same director (Joseph Kosinski) cut out scenes involving POC to give the white actors more screen time, won’t be saying much on that but just know I’m #noticing patterns.

Anyways chile, that man deserves a lead role sometime soon, and preferably one that won’t benefit white actors cause I’m tired of poc being used as crutches to bring others back to stardom (cough Chris Evans cough).

I have noticed that you draw Luke a little…different than most of the dinluke fandom 😅 Is there a particular reason?

Maybe I'm the greatest freak out there and that’s why I'm in disharmony ? Mostly I work with the impression that I get of his character in the Mandalorian, movies and books (except for my crack comics, that is OOC, its crack guys) I think the dinluke fandom clearly prefers his new hope personality than his mandalorian personality but pairing him off with Din in the former gives me serious DiCaprio vibes so I'm just like naaah. I'm also fascinated by his metamorphosis from new hope to the character that he is in the mandalorian because that's HUGE change, and to let him remain static doesn't seem appealing to me personally.

Now Luke was always supposed to be a different kind of hero. One that valued kindness and compassion before violence, a different way to represent masculinity that the typical macho of the 70's (And not in everything because he did A LOT of contradicting shit in the movies) but it seems like the dinluke fandom took those exact traits to say yes, indeed, having those traits instead of the ones like, say, Din Djarin (one that fits these within those traits better) makes you less of a man, less of a hero and thats why his representation in the fandom is mostly, well, of a person that cannot take care of himself much less of other people, among other things.

Or perhaps I'm just reading too much into this and it's just a byproduct of Pedro Pascal being a very attractive man and the author's or fanartist's desperate need to bend Luke's personality to make him more relatable to the author's own so that it can fit the fantasy better. Makes sense I mean wiseass cosmic wizard is not exactly relatable. But I want to believe this is not true because it saddens me deeply the implication that to make someone relatable to oneself is to take away their drive, their powers, their self esteem and capabilities and in turn, to elevate their love interest (Din djarin) so that he's powerful, a king, rich and sexual driven.

Or maybe like I said I'm just full of shit and I'm the freak that can't see the bigger picture. Maybe I'm the fackin Jacqes Audiard from Emilia Perez!! Please understand that I'm stating my opinion and reasoning because I'm being specifically ASKED about it. Mostly I just sit down silently and do mediocre drawings, that's my specialty. Also I'm no social knight I believe in freedom of speech and that everybody is free to write and draw whatever they want, even if controversial or whatever (including criticism and satire).
