PERIDOT were a south korean boygroup, active between 2014 - 2023. Peridot made their debut in the summer of 2014; originally signed to the now defunct STATIC MEDIA, the group would make little to no noise until the following year, when they'd move to RNN ENTERTAINMENT after STATIC declared bankruptcy. Backed by a far more competent (and financially stable) label, PERIDOT would go on to enjoy a steady career as a mid-tier group - popular enough to be nominated for awards but not win them, enough to justify giving America a shot but not to really succeed.

Still, PERIDOT amassed a loyal following and became known for their energetic, experimental sound and summertime comebacks. In spite of some scandal and the line-up looking shaky at times; PERIDOT promoted consistently and comfortably until 2020. Over the years, as certain members became more popular than others, solo careers had blossomed one by one. Soon it was announced that the members would spend the 'foreseeable future' focusing on their individual paths, and inevitably, PERIDOT wrapped up one last comeback and disbanded in 2023, after fulfilling their contract with RNN ENTERTAINMENT.

Originally an underground hip-hop label, STATIC began forming plans for their first idol boy group in 2011, hoping to jump on the wave of idol group debuts in light of financial difficulties at the label. The group would be built around it's main rapper and leader, at-the-time underground rapper Cho SANHAE, who was both the biggest name under the label and a total nobody to the average person. Jeon KYUNGGU and Yoon JUMIN were amongst the first batch of boys to pass STATIC MEDIA's first ever public audition, held in 2012. Among seven boys, only the three of them would still be training at STATIC by the time they were joined by Munemori MADOKA and Shen Jianliang (soon to be known as YARA.) Having joined the company through a global online audition in 2013, the pair were intended to close out the lineup, and the group that should have been PERIDOT spent the next year preparing for debut.

In the summer of 2014, SANHAE released a collaboration with COLA; a teenage amatuer artist with a small online following. Although COLA had garnered some attention through his first song, TBH, it had mostly been mocking and negative - the seemingly random collaboration led to rumours that STATIC MEDIA may be interested in signing COLA. At the end of the summer, just days after his sixteenth birthday, it was announced that COLA would be signing to the label, not as an artist, but as an idol trainee. COLA was added to the lineup PERIDOT just months before the group's debut, after the five-member lineup had already been made public.

The lineup would be no steadier upon debut. During the transition between STATIC and RNN in 2015, YARA was offered a large sum of money to sign with a huge agency in China. The offer came while the boys were actively seeking out labels, and with PERIDOT's future looking unclear, YARA accepted the deal and parted ways with the group to act in China. After appearing in three projects and getting slated for his acting skills in each one, YARA was dropped from the agency, and ended up rejoining PERIDOT again in 2018. Both his departure and his return hurt his reputation, with many to this day regarding him as self-serving or a traitor, in spite of the boys themselves not appearing to hold it against him; and frankly, the fact that he wasn't even good at acting really didn't help. While many criticised RNN's decision to accept him back, it certainly helped their reputation. The other five may have never outright left the group, but thanks to health issues, scandals, and military enlistment, the sight of PERIDOT with a missing member or two became more familiar than that of the complete group. By the end of their career, only MADOKA could boast that he'd promoted uninterrupted from the group's start until it's finish.

Since their disbandment in 2023, the boys of PERIDOT have largely gone their seperate ways. SANHAE has continued his solo music career, and is still far more relevant alone than he ever was in the group, having already collected two number one singles since the group disbanded. KYUNGGU has all but washed his hands of music, transitioning into TV and becoming a mainstay in the variety scene. JUMIN has ostensibly continued his music career as well, though outside of one single, his social media indicates he spends most of his time on vacation somewhere. MADOKA's first solo song was released a month after PERIDOT's final goodbye, and he's seemingly been taking every gig presented to him ever since - he's constantly promoting something or popping up at events he has no real business attending. YARA announced, in his words, a "maybe forever, maybe not" break from the entertainment industry following PERIDOT's disbandment, and is currently enrolled in university. He often goes live on Twitch and bans people for talking about PERIDOT.

Only COLA remains affiliated with RNN ENTERTAINMENT, through it's subsidiary company CHAPEL RECORDS. Although both he and RNN have stated an intent for him to continue as a solo artist, no word of activity has come even two years on, and it's yet to be seen what COLA will do from here.

"Behold! One of the new Peridots is emerging! Facet 34RP cut 6UZ." said the elder Peridot.

An era-2 Peridot leaned over the older Peridot's shoulder to look at the viewscreen.

"My new injector should make much more use out of Gymnome's natural resources than previous designs did," she said. "Oohhh this will finally make up for how pitiful that last batch turned out." The era-2 Peridots shared a look.

"My apologies. I mean, it will finally make up for how... reliant on limb enhancers that last batch was," the elder Peridot said.

"See! Youuuu doubted me, 2F5L," elder Peridot said. "Hah!"

The era-two Peridots stared in amazement. But then things changed for the worse...

The peridots stared in horror. "Uhhh what's happening?" said one of the younger gems.

"This is bad, oh this is bad," 2F5L said. "She doesn't even look cracked!"

"Wait! It's clearing up! It's just a minor myoclonic jerk of the diaphram!" the elder Peridot said.

"Oh! Wow. She looks even taller than you," Peridot 2F5L said. "What was I thinking doubting the great 9XLR!"

"Get the destabilizers. We've got to abort the gems before Hessonite grabs the aerodynamic crossflow about this," the elder Peridot said.

"Ohohooh Stars! If I'd known the experiment would go this wrong I'd have invited more era-2 gems to see the show!" 2F5L said.

"Have some respect!" another era-2 gem said. "No one wants to have to torch an entire kindergarten."

2F5L was still laughing, but wiped a tear from her eye with her finger enhancement.

"Oh! So the runts aren't good enough for ya? Well how about a puddle!" 2F5L said. "All of that work, gone to waste because SOMEONE had to be a perfectionist!"

"That's what we are. We're peridots. We strive for perfection, because someone has to." the elder Peridot said. She turned back to the unstable gem.

"Poof this one and bubble her. We'll try to find a way to stabilize her and Yellow Diamond doesn't have to know," elder Peridot said.

The younger Peridots grimaced.

"Right! I have to do everything myself around here," the elder Peridot said, "As soon as I poof 6UZ, abort the other gems, and warn the other Kindergartens." She grabbed a destabilizer fork and headed up the funicular to the surface.

3,890 years later...

"So what happened to 6UZ?" Steven said, sitting cross-legged in front of Peridot.

"I don't know," Peridot said, "The kindergarteners were all sent to other planets after that. If they ever did stabilize her physical form, I guess she probably became a propulsion technician, like she was supposed to be. Gymnome was supposed to be a shipyard planet."

"Wow! A Rocket scientist gem!"

"Well, gems don't exactly use rockets these days, Steven," Pearl said.

Greetings friend, I feel I owe it to you to to finally reply to this request; after all it has been some time. I decided to answer this by revealing different memories/happenings during this friendship instead of going indept into the emotional aspects. Fun fact; I will do The Terror Trio in another post, because I do believe that friendship deserves a bigger spotlight on the blog.

Their first meeting did not herald a close friendship whatsoever, in fact, Demetri ran when The Volturi showed up in Egypt to barter his inclusion into the guard. It was of course Felix who ran after the spooked Vampire, neatly apprehending him and bringing the tracker back as he kicked and screamed. Demetri watched Aro and Amun's discussion with Felix's hand gently wrapped around his neck, convinced he would never like the older vampire.

While Felix's Greek has never been the best, he made an effort of trying to only converse with Demetri in his mother tongue when he first joined The Volturi. The tracker was terribly skittish in the beginning, and Felix made a point out of ensuring that he was as comfortable as he could be. About six months into service Demetri finally told Felix why he was acting the way he was.

Once upon a time the two of them were ambushed by a Child of The Moon due to a mistake Demetri made. Felix ended up with a scar on his arm that would ache from time to time. Two weeks after the incident Demetri showed up to one of the feedings with a shockingly similar scar on the opposite arm, no one dared ask how he managed to do such a thing.

The two of them has masqueraded as courtiers in several royal courts over the centuries, their favourite time to 'be alive' was during the Renaissance in Italy. Never had Demetri felt like he learned more than during that time, and Felix gladly sat through every excited rambling

Whenever Demetri needs to clear his mind he runs straight for the sea, walking along the shore in all sorts of weather, regardless of season or warnings. Felix is always twenty steps behind him if he is able to come along.

One time the two of them got raging drunk on one of Corin's stronger batches of Blood-Wine they nearly passed out in the piazza outside of the palazzo. They talked for so many hours they did not even notice the sun coming up, they barely dodged some early bird tourists and kept the secret intact through sheer luck. They never spoke of the incident again.

The two of them have matching rings that they always wear over their gloves. While the band is rather discreet, it has one peridot gem set into the gold—Demetri found the gemstones when he was once tracking a wayward nomad in the middle east.

It is Felix that predominantly takes care of Elizabeth when Demetri is out during longer tracking missions. While Heidi is more than capable of taking care of both Elizabeth and Gustav, the trackers little diva can always be found curled up in Felix's quarters.

Ah shit here we go again

This actually started in July of last year. Then it was mostly forgotten. Suddenly though I have like…story thoughts…

The original idea was that the JMV cast were like their namesakes; being mostly human but having very similar physical attributes.

Well. Now they’re animated statues. Except for Mercury, who’s an animated batch of Liquid Metal. And Dot, who’s more like a metal framework with peridot accents, because A. It’s apparently insanely hard to find, and B. It weathers *very* easily

This AU doesn’t have a name and the modern-ness of it is still up in the air, but there’s gods and obsidian is trying to become one. Everyone drops dead of shock (joke)

There are maaany many gods around, and all of them have temples. Almost all of those temples are guarded by animated statues. This is where everyone (except Mercury and Peridot) come from.

Mercury was actually an experiment.

Peridot was created specifically to deal with Obsidian.

But more on that later!

In terms of the team and their dynamics, everything is mostly normal. But Jade’s part of the team. Because Obsidian is almost literally a glass canon, and Jade’s whole entire job is to protect Obsidian. …Well. Technically it’s to protect the thingie they’d been guarding that Obsidian has stolen. But he was also supposed to make sure Obsidian didn’t get wrecked trying to defend the thing. But you get what I mean.

Jade doesn’t have it in him to fight, but jade (mineral) is very hard. He’s an excellent shield. Especially since he’s much bigger than normal Jade. In terms of being taller and wider. He’s a Big Fucking Guy. Obsidian is so tiny compared to him! So’s everyone else

Jet and Dark are around, too. But they’re human. They end up staying with the gang of living statues and totally not because they’re being kinda 👉👈😳 about some of them

Jade and Obsidian were originally meant to guard the temple of a primordial god, and the powerful relic within that temple. And they did their job for decades. But their temple and their patron god were slowly forgotten about. Their patron became so weak that they couldn’t even talk to Jade and Obsidian, so the pair thought that even their god had abandoned them.

Eventually Obsidian decides he’s sick of this and steals the relic. He plans on replacing his patron, but not for any altruistic reasons. It’s a combo of “fuck you, you deserve to get replaced” and “phenomenal cosmic power I can use to rule the universe hehehe”

It’s actually not as hard as you’d think to become a god. The hardest part is convincing everyone that you are, in fact, a god. And just by doing that, Obsidian helps their patron fully fade away into nothing.

Origins

I haven’t decided what exactly Jade and Obsidian’s patron is the god of, but they commanded a balance much like positivity and negativity. The relic they guarded gave the wielded power over that balance. While their patron has been forgotten, that balance remains, so the relic’s power hasn’t lessened.

Jade was made first, and he was intended to be a sort of living shield, but he didn’t have it in him to really fight. So the temple priests commissioned a second guardian to be made, to be the more combative/offensive one. Obsidian was a really good guard for a while!

Obsidian is the first (and currently, only) known instance of an animated statue defying their directive entirely of their own free will.

Zuli’s body is much, much older, but Amber was animated first, so the question of which of them is younger is up for debate. Technically they aren’t brothers but there’s some brotherly stuff going on regardless. Their temple is of a very minor god, so Obsidian didn’t bother for a long time. Haven’t decided what their patron god was.

Koroit’s body was found holding a soul jar, and when her soul was settled in the opal statue she had no memory of anything before that. She should, though. Either she used to be a human, or she’d animated that statue before. There’s no other way she could’ve been in that jar otherwise. Obsidian was intrigued enough to test her abilities and take her in. She used to be the guardian of a temple almost as old as Jade and Obsidian’s, and her patron was a god of storms.

Zircon guarded the temple of the god of war. He, much like his patron, is an excellent fighter and commander, but is keenly aware of how horrific war is and tries to avoid killing anyone if he can help it. Obsidian razed his temple to the ground, and trapped his soul in a special bottle before dragging his now-lifeless body to the place he’d been hiding.

Paraiba guarded the temple of the god of the hearth. She’s much more powerful than Obsidian expected, and almost as stubborn as he is. She fought harder than the others, along with Ruby; a human guard she was friends with. Obsidian killed Ruby, which unfortunately for him pissed Paraiba the fuck off. He could’ve destroyed her easily, but he wanted to “hire” her, so he had to get crafty. As with Zircon, Obsidian trapped her soul in a bottle before carting her off

Silver guarded the temple of the god of introspection and death. Much like with the god of war, though, they’re not the kind of death god that actively wants to kill people. They just collect the souls of the living, and oversee funerals. Their temple is surrounded by a vast graveyard, and many come to the temple to mourn and pray for their loved ones’ safe journey to the afterlife. Silver is mute so they don’t disturb the mourners. They’re also disturbingly good at sneaking around. At first Obsidian just took them with him out of spite to the temple and its god, but the god of death’s metal guardian isn’t to be fucked with. So they ended up joining the team. Not of their own free will.

Jasper was technically a guard, but he did a lot less guarding than the others. His god was a harvest god and god of sanctuary, so mostly he made food for people seeking shelter and/or sanctuary. His temple was destroyed somewhat accidentally, by someone other than Obsidian. He displayed quite powerful abilities, and never told Obsidian where he came from, so Obsidian just, took him away. By the time Obsidian decided that Jasper wasn’t particularly useful for his purposes, he’d made himself useful by cleaning up the little hideout. While none of them can get sick, it looks a lot nicer when cleaned up, so Obsidian lets him continue.

Mercury was being transported places when Obsidian found him. He was quite intrigued! It turns out that Mercury was a sort of experiment, and was supposed to be a sort of stonemason to repair animated statues. He was liquid because they thought it might help him get around to get a better angle to do his job.

Still haven’t figured out what exactly Jet and Dark’s deal is tho

Statue Animation

Human souls can be used to animate a statue, but it’s much harder to catch them, so usually animated statues have their own unique souls that weren’t humans before this.

Most animated statues can’t fuck with other statues’ souls, but Obsidian and Jade can. That said, only humans can actually create new souls for statues. Jade and Obsidian can only transfer souls between vessels. Only statues and specifically-designed bottles, though.

All of them have a “dormant” state that’s entirely unrelated to being un-animated. It’s basically sleeping. They appear to be totally normal statues while they’re like this, though.

Bonus: A statue can be animated any number of times, and as long as there’s no soul present in it when it’s animated it will create a new one. Theoretically, any number of souls can be stored in a statue. An artificial system, if you will. That said, because these souls are just as real as human souls, an individual soul may become a system. A statue that is meant to have multiple souls could end up with several sub-systems.

Appearances

Jade: The most colorful and human-looking; his hair is carved from yellow jade, his body from a yellowish-white jade. His eyes are a mix of white and imperial jade. His ‘clothes’ are a mix of mostly black and green jade. Smooth, rounded edges; save for a few nicks here and there.

Obsidian: Due to the nature of obsidian (rock), Obsidian (character) is not polished and has a lot of very sharp edges. While this doesn’t bother most of the others in the manor, it’s not great for anyone else. His limbs, neck, and extremities are the most vulnerable and easily-broken parts of him. His fingers, toes, hair, and various extremes are also the sharpest parts. He glows from the inside when he uses his corrupt magic. His eyes are made of fire obsidian

Koroit: along with Jasper, the one with the least distinct features. Due to her iridescence, she can be very distracting on the battlefield, something that is both advantageous and really annoying to her. She hasn’t been able to have a proper fight in a long time because of this. Her lightning magic seems to make the opal in her body shine more. Reflectivity and stuff. Smooth, rounded edges.

Jasper: Like Koroit, has some of the least distinct features. Very pretty though. Since they’re all made of stone they don’t have to eat, which means he just mainly just cleans the house. His fire magic almost seems to make him glow; due to his certainty that he’s unlikely to seriously hurt anyone in the manor, he has practiced a bit more with his fire magic. Blocky-er edges, but still polished and not terribly sharp.

Zircon: Very sturdy, but not too hard to break. Due to the sheer size of him, he is slightly radioactive, but it mostly just affects him. He has yet to fuck around and find out, but he would change colors quite fast if exposed to higher levels of external radiation. He has already changed colors (mostly in his ‘clothes’) from Jasper accidentally hitting him with a fireball. His clothes are now a gradient of red, brown, and orange, because when Jasper realized he had not hurt Zircon he offered to at least make the discoloration more consistent. Zircon took him up on that. He thinks he looks cooler than his all-white look from before. His eyes are purple-pink zircons. Polished, but still with sharp edges.

Silver: Being of one solid, opaque color makes it much easier to see their features than with Koroit or Jasper. Aside from being made of silver, they look the most like their original iteration. It’s hard to tell if they’re a casting or more like the statue of liberty, (which is, to my understanding, copper plates over metal framework), but either way. They have a few dents that have yet to be buffed out from fights. As they’re made of metal and have no heart to stop, Koroit has used them as a conductor for her lightning a few times. It only bothers Silver on a moral “don’t make me kill more people than I’m already having to!” level. Their ‘hair’ is as smooth as their ‘skin’. Mainly smooth and round edges.

Paraiba: Not made exclusively of paraiba tourmaline, but the majority of her body is. Her clothes are a range of colors, some parts of which are partially magnetic. Silver has stuck fridge magnets to her a few times as a joke. Her hair is very rough-cut. Smoother and rounded than Zircon, but still has some edges.

Mercury: It is impossible for him under most conditions to hold a physical form. He wears glass boots (no one is sure how he got those) to keep from damaging the floor of the manor too much, and sleeps in a glass tub because he does not need his whole body to spread across the floor and possibly leak through the floorboards. Has the least distinct ‘clothes’, as his form frequently shifts with his movement. His head and face are the most distinct and least-changing part of his body. For some reason, he still has glasses—or at least, the frames of glasses. It’s made of mercury like the rest of his body. If you ask him why he has glasses he’ll sigh and say “I’m rolling my eyes at you. You can’t see it but I am.” and not actually answer. While he can’t have any real edges, the ‘sharpness’ of his form somewhat depends on his emotions. In a more relaxed or calm state, very rounded and smooth.

Zuli: Like Silver, he has some of the most distinct features due to being of one solid color. Obsidian has threatened to smash him to pieces and sell him to a jewelry or dye factory if he doesn’t behave. He generally sits in the basement and waits for someone (usually Jasper) to come down and say hi to him. Since he can’t get sick and doesn’t need to eat, and Obsidian can’t be nasty, he’s mostly okay. He doesn’t want to be down there and obsidian still really fucks with him if he comes up, but there’s less ways to hurt him here. Smooth and rounded.

Peridot: Unlike the others, shes not made of solid peridot. She’s more of a jeweled statue; a metal latticework with lots of peridot pieces. Due to how easily her peridots degrade she usually wears real, weather-resistant clothing when she goes out. Quite sparkly. The largest piece of peridot on her body is an accent piece on her chest, which is most often referred to (by herself and others close to her) as her ‘heart’. A mix of rounded and sharp edges; the most human-like.

The St-Arm Bands: Magic infused bracelets for Ms. Knight. Part of my latest SU AU future headcanon.

"These bracelets were forged using Stevens healing tears and a lock of his hair. Dipped in Bismuths special batch of molten ore and twisted many times and shaped to Peridots exact specs. Their intended purpose was to not simply protect Connie, but allowed her to keep up with Steven and the Gems on magical missions. But after the "Near Disaster" alluded to in my first post, Connie would use these magic bangles to hone her fighting skills to potential lethal degrees, in secret.

To protect those she loves and cherishes, Connie will use whatever tools and weapons at her disposal. And these bracelets will help her do just that."

Steven Universe/She Ra and how they accidentally turn groups of characters into one awful entity

I rewatched some early Steven Universe with @phosphoricbomb and I came to perhaps a more coherent description of what I hate about the show later on, and if you're a She-ra fan, I'm going to use an episode about that show as an example to make it clear.

I think, She-ra and SU are both really, REALLY good at character crafting. You care deeply for Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl, and Peridot and Lapis, when the show focuses on them individually, or on a single relationship they have which contrasts/complements them against each other.

Same for She-ra, not just its main characters which are a really fine batch, but also its side characters. When it invests time in Mermista, Perfuma, Scorpia, Entrapta, Frosta, Netossa and Spinerella, as INDIVIDUALS or as one-on-one relationships, you care about them.

But if you talk to anyone about "the princesses" in she-ra, they tend to hate them. Why is this?

There are many mentions of "the princesses" as an entity. At the start of the show it's Glimmer and Scorpia saying they get excluded by other princesses. However at no point in the show do you see an example of this occuring. There's Entrapta, where we do see this happening. Not in "No Princess Left Behind", where Entrapta herself INTERPRETS this as happening, but in "Launch". Which is an episode that has been critiqued by many for how the characters behaved. And I think it's "Launch" where people decide that "The Princesses" suck ass.

The reason for it is because they are fused into a single character. All individuality is sort of... eradicated, any different opinions tehy might've had on the situation individually is erased because the story needs them to have an antagonism against Entrapta, and tehy need to have Entrapta antagonise them, which means she needs to behave ridiculous and annoying so that they are "justified" for their response. So what I'm saying is that "Launch" is a disservice to Entrapta AND to "the Princesses" because while to an extent it adds character to Entrapta, it has to also write her and everyone else badly to get to the character moment in the first place. It didn't prove that her perception of a "me vs them" scenario was wrong, but the ending tried to say that she had proven herself to the "them", which shouldn't even exist because the princesses should all be individual characters, not this grouped together mass. I wish the show would've simply decided already if Entrapta was being discriminated and was justified for feeling left out, rather than the characters acting as a single entity berating her for her autistic quirks, and the show acting later in the same episode like it was over her building robots.

ANYWAY, that ONE EPISODE from She-ra as well as some weird comments from the first season COMPLETELY CHANGED how the fandom views an entire group of characters, regardless of how fun and well written they are as individuals.

Why does this relate to Steven Universe?

Because the ENTIRE SHOW KEEPS DOING THIS!!!

Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are all brilliant characters, but as soon as the show groups them into one entity, or god forbid, groups EVEN MORE CHARACTERS INTO THE SAME ENTITY, that is when it starts falling apart.

This isn't just in the late series either, this is in several episodes in the first few seasons!!! "Full Disclosure" and "Joy Ride" have "the Gems" act as Steven's overbearing guardians, disregarding how, say, Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst usually have different approaches. In those episodes they all have the same brain.

Steven Universe season 5 and Steven Universe Future are very much "Steven against the World". There are many episodes where, sure, Pearl or Garnet might fuck up and say the wrong thing, but you'd expect Amethyst, Lapis, Peridot, literally anyone who gets him on his level to try and make an individual attempt to connect with him. Spinel gets half an attempt? But every character - Every character, INCLUDING THE DIAMONDS - gets grouped into this category of "The Gems". It's exactly the same as She-ra's "The Princesses".

An early example of complete personality erasure is probably... Lapis and Peridot. The show tried to make them a duo but it didn't really work on their relationship, it just needed to wipe them out of the story so treated them as one character.

The Off-colours are probably the worst example from SU proper. How they all become Lars's backup.

I think it's unfortunately because every time SU really tried to make an ep about a character, it did a great job. Every time it WASN'T about why that character is an obstacle to Steven it did well, but unfortunately when the show focused more on him, it had to make everyone else... the same enemy. Regardless of how their character was written before.

Anyway that was my ted talk, i really love early SU and it was sad watching Jailbreak and On the Run again because those eps are so good at handling the Crystal Gems as individuals.

I can’t believe I forgot pearl .

It’s true that she was in empires hermitcraft and life smp but I already have a role for her since the au is focused on the cod alliance I imagined the wither rose alliance are the gems that home world have sent to earth.

fwhip is a peridot that was sent to check on the gem experiments and sausage is a quartz that was there as a guard .

When the cod alliance finds out that there are home world gems on earth again they destroy the ship that brought them to earth leaving them stranded .The two fled and took refuge in a nearby mountain cave .

fwhip was understandably upset by this and became set on revenge he became very petty towards the cod alliance specifically jimmy who was the one that destroyed the ship

Gem joins them later on she was in the same batch as fwhip and came to get him even though by going to earth with out permission she became a defector

Once gem arrived she and fwhip started to appreciate the earth but sausage was still set on returning to home world

So he left the traitors behind and went off on his own but he was lonely and came across a corrupt gem monster

She before the corruption blast she was a crystal gem pearl that fought in the war but now she is a small moth monster that sausage decided to keep around as company

Someone needs to HOLD ME BACK because I just thought of ANOTHER Steven Universe oc and she’s the cutest thing I’ve ever thought of

HER NAME IS KIWI

BASICALLY Pink Diamond made a batch of gems, including a bunch of peridots. When the gems of that batch emerged, before they all reported to Pink for the first time, one peridot, whose gem was placed on her nose, just a little bit smaller than the rest and a very sweet gem despite her gem’s placement (so she’s technically an off-colour actually), was distracted by a passing butterfly near the edge of the kindergarten.

After wandering away to find it, she turned to see that the rest of her batch was far away, and before she could call out to them, she was distracted again, and walked further and further away until she was lost.

And from then on, she just wandered around and explored the earth. She stayed in a couple towns, and got her name when one of them gave her a kiwi to try and she loved it, which resulted in the residents calling her Kiwi for the rest of her stay, and in the next town she told them that was her name without thinking

Eventually she did find the Crystal Gems after around a hundred years of staying far from the war without knowing, and ended up joining in on a fight without knowing what she was up against. She had a weapon, of course, but it was a small dagger that she often just used to cut things she needed in nature, and it’s a bit hard to defend yourself with a tiny weapon when a quartz soldier is coming at you with a massive sword, so she ended up getting poofed and then, after reforming, just stuck by Bismuth for the rest of the battle, and didn’t do much fighting.

She stayed with the Crystal Gems for a while, maybe another three or four hundred years, and just alternated with who she stuck with, although after a while she just became the gem to gather poofed Crystal Gems and bring the cracked ones to Rose for healing. However, after a while, she ended up getting lost and leaving.

Despite technically being an off-colour, her luck was insane. She was captured eventually by Homeworld right before the whole corruption blast, and kept in a cell much like the ones from the season one finale. However, due to her lore overlapping with another character of mine with much worse luck and some tragic lore who I might post about later on, she was freed by accident (along with a few other gems being kept there) just after the corruption blast and stole a ship to escape back to earth, despite never having flown one in the past.

After that, she spent the rest of her time on earth, exploring again. Everything was different now, after her time with the Crystal Gems and also while she was stuck on Homeworld, so there was a lot of new things to discover. She did run into a few corrupted gems (and survived mostly by running away a lot) and eventually the remaining Crystal Gems, but she never stayed for long, until after the finale. She was mostly a traveller until Little Homeschool was created, and ended up being good friends with some of the other gems from her batch, Blue and Yellow Diamond’s pearls (when they came to earth occasionally), and Bismuth
