Posting about another lens that i have adapted! Today’s post is about the Tamron 45mm f1.8.
Where do i even start, this is a fantastic lens that feels like it was made for the GFX system. This lens completely covers the sensor with little to no vignette. The out of focus bits are so soft and pleasant, and the colors this lens renders are beautiful!! With the GFX’s 0.79x crop you get about a 36mm (35.55mm) equivalent with the depth equivalent of F1.4. Please note that this is the depth equivalent, not total light transmission!!
This lens is razor sharp wide open and somehow gets even sharper stopped down. A really cool and helpful feature of this lens is the built-in stabilization, which works wonderfully on the GFX50R (no ibis)! Also it’s weather sealed!! THEN ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT you can find these for about $200 or so online!!
NOW, i do need to speak about the cons, there’s not much but i do need to speak on this. The autofocus is definitely on the slower side. Not as slow as other lenses i’ve tested but still slower than the Canon 40 or the Sigma 50! It’s also a bit hit or miss, i usually get a keeper rate of 7/10 with this lens. I feel like sometimes the lens just doesn’t like to play well with either the fringer adapter or doesn’t work well with the 50R’s contrast based AF. I KNOW I KNOW the fringer was designed for the bodies that have phase detect, but i can’t justify dropping that much on a 100 series camera. not yet.
This is a fantastic offering, and a SHARP 35mm equivalent for the GFX that produces some of the most beautiful images i’ve ever created. The slower AF is a pain but it definitely helps you to slow down which helps you stay more involved with the photos you’re taken. You gotta remember that this is “medium format” so you can’t really spray and prey like you can with smaller formats.
This will be a lens that i will always recommend to people try when they’re wanting to adapt non native lenses to their gfx bodies!

2024 WRITING REVIEW
tagged: @malinaa LYS HI LYS THANK YOU FOR THE TAG MY LOVE
tagging: desperately trying to remember which of my mutuals are fic writers.. uhmmm @bluegarners @starsapphire @roseworth @lieu42 if you all haven’t done this yet and feel like it! if you haven’t written fic this year my bad my memory is terrible
number of stories posted to ao3: a whole 4 fics lol! i am pretty new to the fic writing game so that was good for me idk🤷♀️
word count posted for last year: 64,475 (thank you to tbba for being long af)
fandoms I wrote for: detective comics babeyyyy😎😎
pairings: dickroy<3
stories with the most kudos, bookmarks & comment threads:
NOT THE STATS LOL.. i write for my mutuals and my mutuals alone ok😭 there’s a hole where your heart lies had the most all around with 158 kudos, 60 bookmarks and 21 comment threads. the people love dickroy 🤷♀️ it’s ok one day niche comics canon bart allen character study fics will have 5k kudos trust me
work i’m most proud of (and why): to be buried alive is im pretty sure the longest thing ive written to date, excluding maybe one or two pieces of bad original fiction (<- girl who has terrible writing stamina). so i was very proud that it got done at all. also was just very proud of the arcs and emotional moments from that piece! cassie cain amiright<3333
work i’m least proud of (and why): i mean at the beep was pretty dumb lol, it was just a goofy gimmick fic. it brought me joy tho
share or describe a favorite review you received:

i have a lot of comments i keep close to my heart that talk abt themes & analysis i was going for but i want to thank this person for giving me the ego boost of all time
a time when writing was really, really hard: SECOND HALF OF THIS SEMESTER. ugghhhh. double major in humanities will mean you write a lot for class, shocker. so when i do get free time i usually do not feel like spending it writing even more🫣 curse you academia
a scene or character you wrote that surprised you: i wrote you are my sunshine in a feverish haze over the course of a week or so hence a lot of it surprising me.. the ending especially! i did not plan on iris making an appearance in the fic but when i actually sat down to write the ending.. there was no other way it could end🥺
a favorite excerpt of your writing: Damian was a small thing. Cass imagined him wrapping his little hand into a fist, watching blood leak between his fingers.
makes more sense in context but probably my fav lines from tbba<333 that good old gut punch of 8yo cass imagery
how did you grow as a writer last year: improved stamina.. writing 40k is still insane to think about
how do you hope to grow this year: i really just want to write more consistently and frequently. i go through weird phases of activity usually so i just need to get into the habit of writing every day<3
who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer, beta, cheerleader, etc.): this is mostly for original fiction but my partner<3 sent them a draft of my final portfolio for a cw course and they texted back lots of very sweet reactions and also said: ‘okay so what if we made [x story] into a short film?’ so now we’re making one of my pieces into a short film. pro tip get into a relationship with someone who loves ur art. also sway was def my biggest cheerleader for tbba shoutout sway🫶🫶🫶
anything from your real life show up in your writing last year: no one ask about my relationship to my father.
any new wisdom you can share with other writers: get weirddddd with it ignore the rules
any projects you’re looking to starting (or finishing) this year: hehehe there is a donna fic in the works😈 also vague notions of a longish wally west versus parenting & unresolved childhood trauma fic but we’ll see what happens with that

About Kim
Each of Theerapanyakuls son has their own reason for their nature.
Khun - is a bit crazy dramaqueen because of his past kidnapping.
Kinn - is cold and calculating because he's the heir of the Main Family. In the past he's a sweet child but after becoming the heir, his father (fck u Korn) molded him to become how he is now, perfect puppet heir for Korn to use.
Vegas - is hot and sexy cunning, manipulative, and sadistic because of his father's abuse (fck u Gun).
Macau - (in my headcanon) is somewhat normal because Vegas loves him. I like to imagine that his brother wants Macau to receive enough love that their father can't give to them, but of course not in the I-want-Macau-to-have-a-normal-life way. Vegas still teaches him how to be a good mafioso, while protecting him from Gun's abuse (fck u Gun). And because he's still a teenager, I believe Macau has typical Gen-Z behaviour. Basically, he's a ✨little shit✨ lol (no one can convince me otherwise).
And Kim? What makes him how he is now?
We know he distances himself from his own family. He's not living like a mafia, doesn't help the Family's bussiness, legal or illegal (or does he? I don't remember), is a popular musician with stage name "WIK", and basically live his life according to his own wishes.
But he investigates his own family. He's suspicious of his own father. And seeing his detective board, he has been doing it for some time (although he's being played right into his father's palm). Why'd he do that? What made him suspicious of Korn?
Is it his hobby? Being a famous musician (from a mafia family, secretly) while undercovering as a detective is cool af bro. Definitelly feels like a protagonist from some action movie.
Or is he in his emo phase? Like, why am I born in this world? Am I really my father's son? I don't care if everyone hate me, I will uncover Theerapanyakul's sin and annihilate the sinner.
Or he's just bored? Like, Handsome? Check. Rich? Check. Famous? Check. Lets spice this boring life with some detective action. What's better than investigating your own mafia family to entertain this boring life?
Or he just simply cares for his family? He loves them (his brothers) so much that he wants to prove that their father is evil and just want to protect Khun and Kinn.

Carl Decapolice headcanon time because the brain rot is still bad
I know it has only been 2 days lol, bare with me.
Tw // Homophobia and transphobia from family members
He has a twin sister named Angelica. They are identical twins but they are not the same gender because:
Carl is transmasc!
He's also gay af! Whole ass fruit. Certified men enjoyer.
He's from British descent.
He has a weird mix between a British accent and an American accent.
His family owns a huge company so they are very wealthy.
His sister Angelica is a model and an unofficial spokes person of the Oxford family. She is extremely charismatic which earned her the nickname, "The Angel of the Oxford family." She's quite airheaded though.
His mother is the one that shows the most affection to Carl. However, she is quite oblivious to his inner turmoil.
He has conflict with his father he isn't really supportive of his son's queerness and only let him transition cause he wanted a man to be the heir of the company. This does not work since Carl wants to be a detective.
His father is also disappointed that, despite transitioning, Carl still "acts like a wimp" and that he "might as well stayed as a girl." Hearing this completely broke Carl.
This causes him to have doubts about his own gender, making him wonder if things would be easier if he didn't transition (This isn't true ofc, he's just in a dark mindset).
All of this conflict causes Carl to develop severe self-worth issues.
This leads to a massive jealousy problem (though he never talks about it) with the BPD as all of his colleagues are "more talented."
He's specifically jealous of Harvard, but his feelings towards him are complicated because they're friends and he has a crush on him.
He "dated" a girl in middle school because his parents thought they were "cute together."
He then proceeds to rebelliously date guys in highschool in secret. It did not end well though because his first bf was an asshole and by his second bf, his father found out.
His sister likes to tease him about potential crushes. Though she wasn't aware that Carl was gay and assumed he just liked girls at first. Now she teases him on what guys he likes.
He occasionally makes bets with Manimani (this is based on a fanfic I read).
He's bros with Mikey and Zhang. He goes on hangouts with them sometimes.
Carl had a phase where he wanted to become more "text savy" so he asked Zhang for help. However, he barely understood a thing Zhang said because he started talking about complex programming. Carl blanked out and gave up.
He asked Mikey one time if he could help him become "more manly" by gaining muscles, so they hit the gym. Spoilers: it did not end well.
Misae is very hard on him. Carl assumes that it's cause she hates him for being a "wimp" like his dad, but she's actually just trying to prepare him for the harsh reality of detective life and that he needs to be more confident in himself.
There's a specific story moment where he's the only one who's able to stop a criminal and he does this using his own skill in negotiation. He's successful and after this, Misae goes easier on him because she sees that he is starting to find his resolve.
Granger being the father figure ever, is the exact opposite. He reassures Carl of his own abilities and that he will become a great detective. Carl is quite confused by this and thinks Granger is just lying to make him feel better.
He doesn't know how to cook, but he started learning after he moved in with Harvard.
Carl's favorite alcoholic beverages are whiskey and beer.
He was initially a tea addict, but being around Harvard influenced him into drinking coffee a lot.
He can't drink black coffee, it has to have milk in it, specifically almond milk.
I might add more later, but this is all I have for now. I might either Carlvard, Zhang, or Manimani next.
#decapolice#carl oxford#why tf is his name carl oxford#me after being the most annoying person you'll ever meet

Pediatric Dental Milestones: From Baby Teeth to Braces

A child’s oral health journey begins long before their first tooth appears. From the moment their gums start to develop in infancy to the time they get braces in their teenage years, pediatric dental care plays a vital role in ensuring lifelong oral health. As a parent, understanding the key dental milestones can help you support your child’s development at every stage.
For families seeking expert care, a reliable Dental Clinic in Udaipur with an experienced Pediatric Dentist in Udaipur offers specialized treatment for children of all ages. In this article, we’ll explore the essential dental milestones from infancy through adolescence, and what you should expect during each phase.
1. Teething and First Tooth (6–12 Months)
What to Expect:
Teething typically begins around six months of age, though it can start earlier or later. The lower central incisors (bottom front teeth) are usually the first to appear.
Signs of Teething:
Drooling
Irritability or fussiness
Chewing on toys or fingers
Swollen or sensitive gums
What Parents Should Do:
Gently massage the gums with a clean finger or use a chilled teething ring
Begin cleaning the baby’s mouth with a soft, damp cloth even before teeth appear
Schedule the first dental visit by age one or within six months of the first tooth erupting
Visiting a Pediatric Dentist in Udaipur early helps ensure proper oral development and educates parents on feeding, teething, and oral hygiene habits.
2. Primary Teeth (Baby Teeth) Eruption (6 Months – 3 Years)
Children develop 20 primary (baby) teeth, which usually complete eruption by age three. These teeth are essential for chewing, speaking, and guiding the permanent teeth into place.
Tips for Care:
Brush twice daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush and a smear of fluoride toothpaste
Avoid bottle-feeding at bedtime to prevent baby bottle tooth decay
Encourage drinking water instead of sugary juices
Regular check-ups at a Dental Clinic in Udaipur during this stage help monitor growth and detect early signs of cavities or bite issues.
3. First Dental Check-up (By Age 1)
The first dental visit is a crucial milestone in a child’s oral health journey. Early visits help build comfort with the dental environment and establish a preventive care routine.
During the first visit, a Pediatric Dentist in Udaipur will:
Examine the gums and any erupted teeth
Check for early signs of decay
Discuss feeding, teething, and thumb-sucking habits
Provide tips for brushing and nutrition
4. Tooth Loss and Permanent Teeth (Ages 6–12)
Around age 6, children begin to lose their primary teeth, which are replaced by permanent teeth. This process continues until about age 12 or 13.
Important Milestones:
First permanent molars erupt around age 6 (often called "6-year molars")
Front teeth (incisors) usually fall out first
By age 12, most children have all 28 of their permanent teeth (excluding wisdom teeth)
How to Support This Stage:
Maintain regular dental visits for cleanings and sealants
Encourage proper brushing and flossing habits
Monitor diet and limit sugary snacks and drinks
Sealants and fluoride treatments offered at a trusted Dental Clinic in Udaipur can help prevent cavities in newly erupted permanent teeth.
5. Orthodontic Evaluation (Ages 7–9)
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. This doesn’t mean they’ll need braces right away, but it allows early detection of bite and alignment issues.
Signs That Braces Might Be Needed:
Crowded or crooked teeth
Early or late loss of baby teeth
Mouth breathing
Thumb-sucking beyond age 4
Difficulty chewing or biting
A Pediatric Dentist in Udaipur or an orthodontic specialist may recommend early intervention if needed, which can reduce the need for more extensive treatment later.
6. Braces and Orthodontic Treatment (Ages 10–14)
Most children who need braces start treatment between the ages of 10 and 14, after most permanent teeth have erupted. Braces help correct:
Overbites and underbites
Crooked or gapped teeth
Jaw alignment issues
Orthodontic care is often provided in coordination with pediatric dental care to ensure optimal oral hygiene and comfort during treatment.
Supporting Your Child During Braces:
Encourage diligent brushing and flossing to avoid decay around brackets
Provide a soft-bristled toothbrush and orthodontic flossers
Avoid sticky and hard foods that can damage braces
Many Dental Clinics in Udaipur offer in-house orthodontic services, making it easier to manage both routine and specialized care under one roof.
7. Teen Dental Health and Wisdom Teeth (Ages 15–18)
In the later teen years, wisdom teeth (third molars) may begin to emerge. Not everyone needs them removed, but they can cause problems if they are impacted or misaligned.
What to Watch For:
Jaw pain or swelling
Difficulty opening the mouth
Shifting teeth or crowding
A Pediatric Dentist in Udaipur or general dentist will monitor the development of wisdom teeth using X-rays and may refer for extraction if needed.
Why Pediatric Dental Care Matters
Children who receive regular dental care are more likely to develop positive oral hygiene habits and avoid serious dental issues in adulthood. A child-friendly Dental Clinic in Udaipur provides a comfortable and welcoming environment that helps reduce fear and anxiety.
The role of a Pediatric Dentist in Udaipur includes:
Preventive care and education
Monitoring growth and development
Managing habits like thumb-sucking and pacifier use
Coordinating orthodontic and restorative care as needed
Final Thoughts
From baby teeth to braces, every stage of your child’s dental development is important. Partnering with a reliable Dental Clinic in Udaipur that offers access to a skilled Pediatric Dentist in Udaipur ensures that your child receives comprehensive care in a supportive environment.

Today i want to show off my current favorite combo, The sigma 50mm Art adapted to my GFX50R!
This is a combo that everyone that’s adapting non-native glass should try. With GFX’s 0.79x crop you get about a 40mm with the depth equivalent of f1.1 🤤. Please note that this is the depth equivalent, not how much light it lets in. The sigma fully covers the sensor with little to no vignette, if there are any dark corners then lightroom’s profile corrections will fix that right up!
I think this is one of the pricier non native lenses i’ve recently bought for my fuji, but if you’re lucky you can snag one of these for less than $400 on ebay. You could always try and find the older and cheaper EX model too, as i hear that performs really well but know that the ART version is the better lens.
I’ve purchased the Sigma ART about 3 times in the last couple years, and i have NEVER regretted it. This lens absolutely excels no matter what sensor you put it on. This lens does an amazing job handling the bigger 4:3 50mp sensor of the 50R, this is a lens that i don’t mind shooting at f1.4 even at a distance as the IQ does a fantastic job holding up. Autofocus on the non native mount is quick and snappy (for an older contrast based system). i hear that the AF is pretty close to native, i haven’t yet tested a native lens but i wanted to make sure that was mentioned in this.
CONS TIME!! There’s not much, but i still want to mention a couple things. These cons aren’t necessarily the lenses fault and more of the 50R but i still want to make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into. First off, AUTOFOCUS AT F1.4 SOMETIMES JUST LOVES TO MISS FOCUS. It’s not like the lens gives up, it’s more like the lens just falls short of critical focus. this could be because i do shoot in AF-S and my subject moved or the sigma and the adapter struggle at those wider apertures, could be because of the contrast af system of the 50R OR it could totally be user error as well but i still wanted to mention it. Next one is the outer most corners are smeary. no matter the aperture the very outer most corners aren’t going to be perfect. this isn’t the lenses fault either as i’m adapting it to a larger sensor than what it was made for. I find that if you throw a 4x5 times crop on your image you will not see any of that smearing. it’s honestly not that bad, and you’re only going to notice it if you are REALLY pixel peeping those corners.
Alright, that’s about it. I really wish i could share more photos of this lens because im always blown away with what i can capture with this duo!! I think this is a fantastic combo, and this lens goes everywhere with me! I suspect that the af would be perfect on something like the 100s’ phase detect system! If you’ve tried it on one of the 100 series bodies let me know if you find shooting wide open is more consistent!

Atrial Fibrillation Device Market: Emerging Trends Shaping Future Innovations
The atrial fibrillation device market is undergoing a transformative phase driven by increasing global prevalence of AF, technological advancements, and rising healthcare awareness. Atrial fibrillation, a common type of cardiac arrhythmia, affects millions of people worldwide and increases the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other cardiovascular complications. As a result, the demand for innovative and effective AF treatment devices is growing rapidly. This article explores the emerging trends in the AF device market, highlighting key areas of innovation, market dynamics, and future growth prospects.

Technological Advancements Driving Market Growth
Technological innovation is at the forefront of the AF device market's expansion. One of the most significant advancements is the development of catheter ablation systems with enhanced precision and real-time imaging capabilities. These devices are becoming more effective in isolating pulmonary veins and eliminating AF triggers. The introduction of high-density mapping catheters has improved diagnosis and treatment accuracy, enabling electrophysiologists to make better-informed decisions during procedures.
Wearable devices equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms are also gaining traction. These tools can detect irregular heart rhythms, allowing early diagnosis and timely intervention. Smartwatches and portable ECG monitors are increasingly being used for remote patient monitoring, reducing hospital visits and improving patient compliance.
Shift Toward Minimally Invasive Procedures
The market is witnessing a growing preference for minimally invasive and non-invasive procedures over traditional surgical interventions. This shift is largely driven by shorter recovery times, reduced risk of complications, and overall patient comfort. Minimally invasive techniques such as cryoablation and laser ablation are becoming popular due to their effectiveness in treating AF with minimal tissue damage.
Additionally, innovations in transcatheter technologies have made procedures safer and more efficient. Companies are focusing on designing smaller, more flexible catheters that can navigate complex cardiac anatomy, thus improving procedural success rates.
Integration of Digital Health and Remote Monitoring
The integration of digital health solutions is reshaping how AF is managed. Remote monitoring platforms, telemedicine, and connected devices allow continuous tracking of patient vitals and AF symptoms. These platforms facilitate real-time data transmission to healthcare providers, enabling timely adjustments to treatment plans.
Moreover, patient-centric mobile applications offer personalized feedback, medication reminders, and lifestyle recommendations, contributing to better disease management. This digital approach not only improves outcomes but also reduces the burden on healthcare systems.
Expanding Applications of AI and Predictive Analytics
Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of atrial fibrillation. Predictive analytics can identify patients at risk of developing AF before symptoms arise. Machine learning models trained on large datasets can predict the likelihood of recurrence after ablation procedures, helping physicians tailor interventions.
AI-powered platforms also support clinical decision-making by analyzing ECG data, detecting subtle abnormalities, and recommending optimal treatment strategies. These capabilities are revolutionizing the way AF is treated and are expected to become standard practice in the near future.
Growing Adoption of Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion Devices
Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices are gaining prominence as a preventive strategy for AF-related strokes, especially in patients who cannot tolerate long-term anticoagulation therapy. These devices effectively seal off the left atrial appendage, where blood clots typically form in AF patients.
The increasing clinical adoption of LAAO devices reflects a broader trend toward preventive care and risk reduction. Newer-generation devices offer improved safety profiles, simplified implantation procedures, and better outcomes, fueling their adoption across diverse patient groups.
Regulatory and Reimbursement Support
Supportive regulatory frameworks and favorable reimbursement policies are facilitating market growth. Regulatory bodies in major markets are accelerating the approval of novel AF devices, especially those with proven safety and efficacy. Simultaneously, healthcare payers are recognizing the cost-effectiveness of these devices, particularly when they prevent costly complications like stroke and hospitalization.
This regulatory momentum encourages innovation while ensuring patient access to cutting-edge therapies. It also motivates companies to invest in research and development, further driving technological progress in the field.
Conclusion
The atrial fibrillation device market is poised for robust growth as emerging trends redefine how AF is diagnosed, monitored, and treated. Technological innovation, the rise of digital health, AI integration, and the preference for minimally invasive procedures are all shaping the future of this dynamic market. As the global burden of AF continues to rise, these trends not only promise better patient outcomes but also present significant opportunities for industry stakeholders. Companies that stay ahead of these trends are likely to lead the next wave of advancements in atrial fibrillation management.
