Traditional dance of Maguindanaon

Sagayan is the true and ancient dance that predates Islam and Christianity of Maguindanaon people from Cotabato, Mindanao, Philipppines. It is performed as a ritual for healing called ipat or as a festive dance for wedding, enthronement, and other festive celebrations.

The Maguindanaon people are an Austronesian ethnic group from the Philippines. The Maguindanaon are part of wider political identity of Muslims known as Moro, who constitute the third largest ethnic group of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan. The Maguindanaons constitute the ninth largest Filipino ethnic group and are known for being distinguished in the realm of visual art. They have been renowned as metalworkers, producing the wavy-bladed keris ceremonial swords and other weapons, as well as gongs. The Maguindanaons historically had an independent sultanate known as the Sultanate of Maguindanao which comprises modern day Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region and Soccsksargen. The name "Maguindanao/Magindanaw" itself was corrupted by Spanish sources into "Mindanao", which became the name for the entire island of Mindanao.

The word Maguindanao or Magindanaw means "people of the flood plains", from the word Magi'inged that means "people or citizen" and danaw that means "lake or marsh". Thus Maguindanao or Magindanaw can also be translated as "people of the lake", identical to their close neighbors, the Maranao and Iranun. These three groups speak related languages belonging to the Danao language family.

Im currently in the middle of doing redesigns for em for diversity reasons (I do respect yuuri's decision to avoid making poc characters since he's white I think that's very responsible in this situation)

I hc Charlie as Japanese and Mexican;I gave him monolid eyes and also made his hair brown that he bleaches cause he thinks he's cool or smth/lh

Alphonse is Puerto Rican and Seth is black mixed with something. Not much about them changed except for their skin color being darker, Seth's hair is curlier and I gave him a mole on his right (left??) Cheek, Alphonse's roots show through his hair dye, he has more piercings and I also gave him a gapped tooth

I haven't drawn Auron yet but I know I wanna make him desi and give him a nath specifically so it's obvious to tell that he is indeed desi (if anyone has any tips for portraying desi characters let me know)

I don't really draw any other yv characters so that's about it. I have a specific reason for keeping Finn white but I simply couldn't resist changing him up a bit too.

And again these are just headcanons. This isn't me saying the characters need to change in anyway

Edit: I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT FAUST. I draw him with vitiligo and also he's Filipino to me that's about it

It was March 2018, 1 night and 2 days in  Gigantes Island Philippines had my friends and I experienced unexpected friendship, stunning views, unlimited sea foods, beautiful sunshine and stories. 

I was mainly the organizer of who will come on this trip. When I said unexpected friendship, we basically were two groups, groups from my community organization and from my college best friends.  

They get along so much that I don’t need to make an effort to build rapport for both parties which I really liked so much.

We enjoyed the place with activities like Island hopping, swimming, hiking and eating, playing cards, sleeping. 

I will definitely choose these bunch for the next outing.
