I have an idea for an angst/fluff. Bare with me because this is my first request. Spencer notices reader has small reactions to yelling, slamming doors, stomping, etc. Maybe it’s from arguing parents as a child or they got a bit of trauma on a case and had been hiding it from the team (maybe both. Like arguing parents and then a traumatic experience brought it all back up). She hid her anxieties from the team because she knows she’s safe with them and is slightly embarrassed by the reactions. Spencer only noticed because he pays such close attention to her (he’s got a crush!) and starts doing things to help reader. Like changing the subject when an argument is coming on, distracting them after someone slams a door, etc. I’m not a writer so i have no idea how to end this. Thx 💓
silent support | spencer reid x reader
warnings: brief mentions of bad childhood. spencer fluff! gender neutral reader
word count: 1.5k
a/n: thank you for the request! i hope you enjoy<3 reblogs n comments n requests always appreciated
spencer reid wasn't the kind of man to overlook details. his job demanded meticulous observation, and he'd long since developed a knack for noticing things others missed. this skill, however, extended beyond crime scenes and into his everyday interactions, particularly where you were concerned.
you had joined the bau team almost a year ago, and from the very beginning, spencer had found himself drawn to you. he admired your dedication, your intellect, and your ability to connect with victims and suspects alike— and of course he thought you were the most beautiful person he ever laid eyes on. but recently, he began noticing something else about you—small, subtle reactions to loud noises and arguments.
it started one evening in the bullpen. hotch and morgan were in a heated debate about a case direction, voices rising steadily. you sat at your desk, seemingly focused on your work, but spencer saw the way your shoulders tensed at each raised voice. when morgan slammed a file down in frustration, your hand jerked slightly, knocking over your coffee cup.
spencer's eyes narrowed as he took in your quick, shaky breath and the way you forced a smile when jj handed you a napkin. the pieces of a puzzle began to form in his mind. he had read your file—he probably shouldn’t have but—he knew about your difficult childhood, the endless nights spent listening to your parents argue, the fear that came with every slammed door. and he suspected there was more, something you hadn't shared with anyone on the team.
his suspicions were confirmed over the next few weeks. during a particularly rough case in phoenix, a suspect's sudden outburst caused you to flinch noticeably. you recovered quickly, laughing it off, an embarrassed blush covering your features, but spencer didn't miss the way your hands trembled slightly as you continued with your questioning.
he wanted to say something, to let you know he understood and was there for you, but he also knew how embarrassed that might make you feel. so instead, he began to find small ways to ease your anxieties.
when arguments started brewing in the office, he would subtly steer the conversation in a different direction, diffusing the tension before it could escalate. if someone slammed a door, he would immediately engage you in conversation, pulling your focus away from the noise. these actions were small, almost imperceptible to the rest of the team, but he hoped they made a difference to you.
one particularly tough case in chicago brought everything to a head. you had just finished interviewing a suspect who had a penchant for yelling, and spencer saw the strain in your eyes as you walked back to your desk. garcia was arguing with an it technician about a software glitch, her voice raised in frustration. when she slammed her laptop shut, you visibly jumped, the color draining from your face.
before you could retreat into yourself, spencer was there, standing beside you with a gentle smile. "hey," he said softly, "did you know that the world's largest snowflake on record was 15 inches wide?"
you blinked at him, momentarily distracted from the chaos around you. "really?" you asked, your voice slightly shaky.
he nodded, his smile widening. "yeah, it was found in fort keogh, montana, in 1887. pretty fascinating, right?"
you managed a small smile in return, the tension in your shoulders easing. "that is pretty interesting, spencer….thanks."
he shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "just thought you might like to know."
over the next few days, spencer continued his quiet campaign to help you. he found ways to be near you whenever the atmosphere in the office grew tense, offering bits of trivia or starting conversations to distract you. you noticed his efforts, of course, and though you were slightly embarrassed by your reactions, you were also deeply grateful.
one evening, after the team had wrapped up a particularly grueling case, you found yourself alone with spencer in the conference room. the rest of the team had gone home, but you were both still reading over files, trying to wrap up loose ends.
"spencer?” you said quietly, breaking the comfortable silence, "can i ask you something?"
he looked up from his file, his expression attentive as he studied your form. "of course."
you hesitated, choosing your words carefully. "i've noticed... you've been going out of your way to help me lately. distracting me when things get tense. why?"
spencer's cheeks reddened slightly, and he pushed his hair back nervously. "i... i noticed that loud noises and arguments seem to bother you. i know you had a tough childhood, and i figured maybe it was bringing up some old anxieties. i just wanted to help..."
your heart swelled with gratitude, and you felt a lump form in your throat. "thank you, spencer. it means a lot to me. i... i haven't really talked about it, but you're right. —there was something that happened on a case a while back that... well, it just made everything worse." you chewed on your lip, meeting his gaze.
spencer reached out, his hand covering yours. "you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, but just know that i'm here for you. i promise.”
you squeezed his hand, feeling a sense of comfort and safety wash over you. "thank you, spencer. it helps more than you know."
in that moment, surrounded by files and the remnants of a long day's work, you realized just how much spencer reid meant to you. he wasn't just a colleague or a friend—he was someone who truly cared, who saw your vulnerabilities and accepted them without judgment.
the days following that conversation were transformative for you. knowing that spencer understood your struggles and cared enough to help made a world of difference. you found yourself growing less anxious about your reactions. spencer's quiet support gave you the strength to face your fears head-on.
one evening, after a particularly stressful case, the team decided to unwind at a local bar. laughter and conversation filled the air, but you couldn't shake the lingering tension from the day. as you sat nursing your drink, you watched the interactions around you. hotch and rossi were deep in conversation, garcia and jj were dancing to the jukebox, and morgan was charming a group of women nearby.
spencer slid into the seat next to you, a gentle smile on his face. "you okay?" he asked softly.
you nodded, though you knew he could see the truth in your eyes. "just a lot on my mind."
he studied you for a moment before speaking. "want to take a walk?"
grateful for the escape, you agreed. the two of you slipped out of the bar and into the cool night air. the streets were quiet, the only sound the distant hum of traffic.
eventually, you found yourselves at a small park. you sat on a bench, the silence between you comfortable and reassuring. spencer looked at you, his expression earnest.
"you know," he began, "i've been doing a lot of thinking about what you told me. about your past and what you’ve experienced. and i just want you to know that it's okay to feel the way you do. there's no shame in it."
you looked down at your hands, feeling a mixture of vulnerability and relief. "it's just... i thought i had it all under control, you know? but then things happen, and it all comes flooding back. i feel weak."
spencer's hand found yours, his touch gentle and reassuring. "you're not weak. you're incredibly strong. you've been through so much, and you're still here.”
tears welled up in your eyes, and you blinked them away, not wanting to cry. "you always know the right thing to say."
he smiled, a soft, genuine expression that made your heart ache. "i'm just glad i can be here for you. you mean a lot to me, you know."
your breath hitched slightly at his words, and you felt a warmth spread through your chest. "you mean a lot to me too. more than you know."
spencer's eyes softened, and he reached out to take your hand. "i'm here for you. always."
spencer’s eyes flickered over your features, the harsh street lights casting a soft glow over you, taking in how beautiful he found you.
you took a deep breath. "there's something else i need to tell you. something i've been feeling for a while now."
he looked at you, his features softened, the warm light catching pieces of his dark hair causing them to almost look golden. "what is it?"
"i... i think i'm falling for you.” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "you've been so caring and kind to me...more than anyone in my life."
a look of pure, unfiltered joy spread across spencer's face, and he squeezed your hand. "from the moment you joined the team, there's been something about you that drew me in. and the more i got to know you- the more i fell for you..”
relief and happiness flooded through you, and you leaned in, your lips meeting his in a soft, tender kiss. it was a moment of pure connection, a promise of support and love.
as you pulled back, you rested your forehead against his, a smile playing on your lips. "thank you. for everything."
he cupped your face in his hands, his eyes shining with affection. "no, thank you. for trusting me, for letting me in. i wouldn't have it any other way."

Ace Attorney 456 Tokyo Game Show Information Masterpost

Since I haven't seen all the information collected in one place, this post SHOULD be a comprehensive review of everything revealed today - though please let me know if I missed anything important.
New Trailer and Release Date
youtube
We got a new trailer for the 456 collection, which covers (most of) what I'm going to say in this post, and a release date of January 25, 2024!
New Features
Language Support: These games are now available in seven languages: Japanese, English, French, German, Korean, and Traditional and Simplified Chinese, along with voice dubs for each of these. These are some of the first times some of the games (in particular 5 and 6) are officially translated to many of these languages.
DLC: The previously DLC-exclusive cases Turnabout Reclaimed and Turnabout Time Traveler will be added to the game for free, along with previously DLC-exclusive costumes. You can dress up Phoenix in the Tigre outfit from the beginning!
QOL: As well, any of the quality of life features from the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles have been added to the 456 collection. This includes an episode/chapter select unlocked from the start, so you can skip straight to your favorite sections, autoplay and story mode, and a backlog/history to review recent text.
Art Gallery: The game will also include an "art gallery" which includes concept art for the games. This will also include special artworks commissioned exclusively for this collection, some of which are unlocked after beating each game and unlocking each trilogy.
Orchestra Hall: There is also an "orchestra hall" where you can listen to what seems to be the full soundtrack for all three games (though I haven't verified this), along with orchestral tracks from the 15th anniversary and 2019 orchestra concerts.
There are also two new "trilogy exclusive" songs: "Apollo Justice - A New Era Begins! 2024", and "Trucy's Theme - Bring It In, Everyone". The new "a new era begins" remix might possibly be what they're playing in the trailer. "Bring It In, Everyone" is distinct from Trucy's main theme, "Child of Magic" (listed earlier in the soundtrack list), so I have no idea what that one will be like.
Animation Studio: This new feature allows you to play around with character models, setting up different backgrounds and sprites and settings, to create whatever scene you want. This doesn't seem to have a text feature, so it just seems kind of like a worse objection.lol but with 3D sprites. (Although I'm sure the objection.lol people will find a way to rip the models in like... five minutes of the game's release)
Preorder Information
It seems we overseas people will only have the collection available digitally, but Japan seems to have physical copies along with a lot of preorder bonuses! You can find the official page here.
This includes the following:
Game Software: You can order this standalone, or with the other preorder goods, or seemingly just the goods on their own without the software included.
Original Drama CDs: Two new drama CDs are being developed for this collection! As far as I can tell, one involves the Gavinners attempting a one-night-only revival of the band (which goes poorly...), and the second involves Taka fleeing the courtroom.
Evidence and Items Set: This includes ten pieces of evidence available from the games, along with some original illustrations. As can be seen above, this includes things like the photo of Apollo and Clay from Dual Destinies, six ID photos of major characters, and a signed poster of Klavier.
As well, a new sleeve box drawn by Takuro Fuse, the character designer for 5 and 6.
That should cover everything, but please let me know if I missed any news!

Protesting in an Age of Government Surveillance
Consider these examples in recent years that highlight the dangers of unchecked surveillance against protesters:
Phoenix police used surveillance cameras, license plate readers, and drones to track leaders of a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest for hours, waiting for them to engage in any conduct that could provide a pretext to arrest them, such as stepping off the sidewalk onto a roadway during a demonstration. New York police used facial recognition software to track a protester to his home, where dozens of officers attempted to forcibly enter without a warrant because he allegedly loudly shouted into a bullhorn at an officer during a demonstration. President Trump’s Acting Under Secretary of Intelligence and Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security ordered officials to develop dossiers on protesters in Portland, Oregon, that labeled arrested protesters “violent antifa anarchists inspired unless proven otherwise and to disseminate these dossiers to federal and local law enforcement agencies. These dossiers drew significantly on protesters’ social media profiles and other online sources. While there are important legal safeguards against certain types of government surveillance of protesters, courts have been too slow in clarifying the scope of constitutional protections and lawmakers have often failed to enact needed legislative protections. This underdevelopment of the law creates substantial gaps and gray zones that police can use in ways that stifle protected First Amendment conduct.

So. I've been making the thumbnails for a series me and some friends have been doing for a few months at this point. We're doing some (Halfway accurate) dubs of Ace Attorney! It's called The Defense Rests, and you can find it on the Totallyjazzed channel on Youtube. please watch us I need the validation
I am the voice of, among others, Winston Payne, Manfred von Karma, Matt Engarde, and Luke Atmey. There's plenty of others, but those are my favorites.
So anyway, I'm gonna put the thumbnails below the cut here and hope those convince you to at least give us a shot.
1-1! I was really out of practice when I made this. I could've made the ghost Phoenix look SO much better, and actually make the Sahwit work with the bit in the actual video. See, we make jokes about how his head does not move despite his whole body constantly swaying, and compared him to the gyroscopic chicken. I couldn't do what I was going for with his neck at the time, and had to settle for rotating him 180°, but I think I could do it nowadays.
Okay how the Hell do I explain 1-3. Okay so to start with the only thumbnail I didn't make was the 1-2 one. And uh. Here you can see us disliking Sal on every possible level and deciding he should go to Hell?? I dunno, I made this mid-video, and. Have you looked at it. Oldbag taking fully clothed pictures in the bathtub standing up was just. A thing that happened in this case because of us. For some reason. And now it's everyone's problem.
Okay, with 1-4 we're starting to pick up speed in terms of the thumbnails, as we get to the first one I genuinely feel pretty proud of. 1-1 was somewhat basic and 1-3 was. Just plain weird. But then we got to 1-4 and I made TDR: DL of 6. It's directly based on Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, though Von Karma's location is more based on Dracula from the original Castlevania. Don't mind that most of them are see-through, it's because almost everyone in TDR is a ghost. We get carried away at times. Fun fact: This wasn't gonna be the thumbnail! I made it before we started recording for fun, but we ended up going with it anyway.
1-5! Another one that doesn't make much sense, but this time I really like it. In clockwise order, Winston Payne keeps dying and was the Ghost³ of Winston Payne by this point in the series, Von Karma, Damon Gant, and Redd White were on Boys Night which involves drugs, and Jake Marshall's joke evolved from MAH INFINITE BEARD to MAH INFINITE TEXAS to MAH INFINITE [blank]. It's not terribly complicated, but it worked amazingly with the TDR version of the case.
Please make fun of Winston Payne for looking like he's Animorphing if you want to, we encourage it.
2-1: WELCOME TO PAYNE THEORY! Definitely one of my favorites to make, but it doesn't have as much basis in the jokes we make during the case as I'd like, aside from the Custom Made Glove and the Lobster. I generally think 2-1 was just okay, so I didn't have any other ideas for what to do for it.
2-2 IS MY FAVORITE END RESULT OF ANY OF THESE THUMBNAILS. Practically everything in it references a joke made in the video to some extent, from Payne's kazoo, Hotti wanting to steal every organ, The Bloodlement, and the part where we played tic-tac-toe on Pearl... It's all here. And it coheres amazingly. I'm incredibly happy with it.
I think we all know what 2-3 is like. Moe the Clown throwing hands with J. Udge carried it for us. They should fight onscreen. It is written that Moe's back was about to shatter and create a whole new case from how hard he was carrying the case.
HERE WE GO HERE WE GO HERE WE GO. 2-4 started my little personal tradition of taking every final thumbnail in a game seriously, though that was already starting to form in 1-4. This had my favorite development phase of any of the thumbnails, and I don't regret a second of it. I also finally learned how to use a new tool or two in my editing software because of it! Wonderful! It's not all serious, though. Wendy Oldbag is still very much the Blue Eyes White Woman.
...I didn't have any ideas for 3-1. We settled on making it a discord flashback for all the characters involved (And Redd White) ((And The Poison Genie)) during a session of Buck Bumble.
I love Luke Atmey with all my heart. He's really funny, and some of the most fun I've had in The Defense Rests. I made his superpower identity theft and had him boast about how he could "Steal your place in the thumbnail of this video!", which resulted in this. Don't mind that the bag looks like that, I had very little to work with.
I ran out of my 10 permitted images, so. I guess I'll do 3-3 through 3-5 and the scrapped thumbnails in a reblog after I finish tagging this.

FEMSLASH FEBRUARY 2024 #15: In which Cameron and Donna give a presentation
[CN: food/cooking mention] . . When they were asked to be the keynote speakers at an inaugural conference for marginalized groups in tech at a large and prestigious research university, Cameron agreed on the condition that Donna do most of the talking. “I will gladly stand up there with you and chime in where necessary,” she’d said, while stirring a nearly ready risotto, “but you’re better at this sort of thing, so it should mostly be you.” Donna didn’t want Cameron to be sidelined, but reluctantly agreed to this.
Cameron convinced Donna to be inspired by her own poolside speech from the night Cameron was supposed to leave California indefinitely, to focus on how partnerships evolve over time, and make the work worthwhile even when they eventually dissolve. Eager to contribute equally, she also made the slide show to go with their remarks.
The slide show began with childhood photos of each of them, and their remarks started with short biographies of the both of them. Donna described her upbringing in 1960s Dallas, and her awkward teen years, and her discovery of computer engineering. She told the audience that Cameron wanted her to tell them that she was a former beauty pageant winner (she had used her Little Miss Perfect portrait in the slide show), and that she had called Donna a bitch the first time they’d worked together, all to appreciative laughter from the audience. After that, Donna talked the audience through decades of their careers, while Cameron clicked the slide show through photos from Cardiff, COMDEX, Mutiny, AGGEK, Atari, Symphonic, Comet and Phoenix. After explaining her personal belief that partnership is about finding a new project to work on, in both our professional and personal lives, she and Cameron shared a short, final montage of photos from outside the office - pictures of them, and also Haley and Joanie, and Gordon, and J0e, and Bos, and Diane and Risa and Tanya and Dr. Katie Herman and Lev and Yo-yo and their families, at barbecues and camp grounds and birthday parties and graduations, and one final photo of Cameron and Donna on their wedding day. Cameron found herself tearing up over it, even though she’d spent hours assembling it.
After which Donna made her concluding remarks: “Being a woman in STEMS is hard. I know. It sucks. Being queer in tech, and feeling like you should be hiding something about yourself is hard. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a scientist of color, and to see so few people who look like you and understand where you come from every day at a job that you love, where you’re trying to build something for people. But you are here. You’re here to work, and you’re also here to live, and I know that you can do this. “You won’t necessarily get to have it all, and you might not even want it all. But if you are very lucky, and you work very hard, you can get what you need.” The end of their presentation was met with a standing ovation and riotous applause, which was followed by a brief q and a.
Most of the ‘q’s were from young women, who asked Donna and Cameron which of their accomplishments they were most proud of, what they would do differently, and what new policies and practices they thought might be most helpful for young software and hardware developers with limited resources. The whole thing was a lot more pleasant than Cameron had expected, until the next to last question.
Alexa Vonn came up to the microphone. “My question is for Cameron.”
“Hello, Alexa,” Cameron deadpanned.
“Do you think that you’re easy to work with?” Alexa asked.
Cameron fought the urge to burst out into hysterical, self-conscious laughter. “No.” The audience laughed again. “That’s why I’ve worked with Donna for most of my life. She’s very aware of my limitations and where I struggle to communicate.”
“Okay,” Alexa said, “then my question for Donna is, do you actually like working with Cameron?”
Donna grinned at her. “Honestly? I’ve loved every minute of it.”
Alexa pressed, “Even with all of the ‘ups and downs’ you glossed over in your presentation? The two of you were famously estranged for many years, weren’t you?”
“‘Famously’ feels like an overstatement,” Cameron said.
“How did you come back from that?” Alexa asked.
With a hint of irritation in her voice, Donna said, “Well, you start talking. Maybe because something terrible happens, like your ex-husband dies suddenly and tragically young. And you realize that some things are more important than petty grudges. So you keep talking. Does that answer your question?”
Before Alexa could answer, Donna said, “Great! It was very nice to see you Alexa, thank you for your questions. I’m sorry that you and Cameron didn’t get to fully realize the project you worked on, it sounded really interesting.”
After the final question (“favorite app?”), Cameron and Donna went into the ladies’ room for a few minutes. Donna went over to the sinks, put her hands on the counter, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.
Cameron waited for a second, and then said, “So that mostly went really well, right?”
Without opening her eyes, Donna snorted, but didn’t say anything. She took another deep breath.
“The way you shut Alexa down? Hot.” Leaning against the wall, Cameron said, “I kind of like it when you’re a bitch.”
Donna grinned at Cameron, an arched an eyebrow suggestively.
“Still,” Cameron frowned. “We kinda deserved that after some of the shit we’ve pulled at other people’s presentations, huh?”
Donna looked over at Cameron, and then started to laugh, a real, deep belly laugh. The sound of it made Cameron smile, and think, there’s literally nothing better than this.

We have a new citizen in Mount Phoenix:
Jamison Black, a 28 year old son of Brigid. He is a maintenance worker at Galaxy Games.
FC NAME/GROUP: Mackenyu CHARACTER NAME: Jamison Black AGE/DATE OF BIRTH: November 16, 1995 ; 28 PLACE OF BIRTH: Atlanta, Georgia OCCUPATION: Maintenance Worker at Galaxy Games HEIGHT: 176 cm DEFINING FEATURES: Generally unruly hair with a constant smile. Missing his left arm due to a car accident. He wears a prosthetic that he has enhanced for various reasons, both practical and humorous. He has several different prosthetics, some that look like a normal arm to a more metal design. Typically, the male has small smudges of grease on his arms or nose from his mechanical work.
PERSONALITY: Jamison is highly intelligent when it comes to book smarts, having attended the best schools and being skilled in complex subjects. However, his brains are hidden with a barrage of silly jokes, aggravating puns, and the inability to take anything too serious. He spends a lot of his time playing video games and working on his wild range of gizmos that he thinks up. Off the bat, he is very outgoing, trying to pull a smile on anyone’s face even if he looks like a fool. Jamison comes off as the big, silly brother, just as protective as he is playful. Between that silly playfulness and his dumb attempts to cheer others up, he prides himself in being the best friend anyone could ask for.
HISTORY: Placed into the hands of a rather shocked father, Jamison’s dad was months into a new and healthy relationship when the child became his burden. However, his father did not hesitate in tending to his son, and his girlfriend took the reins of motherhood without being asked. The combination of the busy computer programmer and the overly sweet pre-school teacher provided Jamison the best life imaginable. It would not take long for the two to marry, and Jamison would be adopted by the wonderful woman.
As he grew, his adopted mother worked hard to start teaching him at a young age, and he excelled in school. Whether through his mother’s tutelage, his father’s early introduction of tech, or his own smarts, Jamison blew to the top of his class, and his test scores drew great praise from his teachers. The young male found himself deeply in love with science, finally settling on pursuing a dual major in software and materials engineering. So, when he was offered a full ride scholarship to MIT pursue a doctoral program in mechanical engineering, his mother sent him off with the happiest of wishes. At MIT, he found a group of friends that helped further his interests in building his own computers and other forms of technology. In the pursuit of a cute girl, that he would ultimately fail in trying to win’s heart, he rose a bit too quickly to a black belt in mixed martial arts.
Once he finished his degree, Jamison ended up taking a developer job at a growing video game company, simply out of interest and passion. Between work and maintaining some of his social circle from college, the demigod found comfort in his life. It was simple, but it allowed him to enjoy everything he loved. However, Jamison will always remember how quick life is willing to steal that carefully crafted happiness. On a trip down to go to the beach, he and parents found themselves left in a mangled car surrounded by shatters of glass, the reeking stench of gas, and a sea of red. By a miracle, or likely the enhancements the genius man had crafted to his beloved car, his family survived, but it was at the expense of the demigod. His only memory of the event was the sound of his mother’s scream and the sound of sirens.
When he finally awoke in the hospital, Jamison’s whole world had changed. It would take days for him to finally reunite with his family. The shock lasted for many days until he saw his parents again. Even as he laid in the bed in pain, he could only joke with his parents. “It is merely a flesh wound” leaves his lips so many times to where it became a banned phrase in the home. The journey to recovery was tough, though he put on a brave face throughout the ordeal. They were alive. And while he may have been missing an arm, that was worth their lives.
The quick-witted demigod would quickly become interested in the technology of prosthetics. Receiving his first arm, he used it as a foundation to make much grander alterations to the arm. Once he grew used to his new life, he returned to parts of his old life that he could, though he hid behind his video games and his love for painting. Jamison’s parents found, in an old collection of their items, a note attached that Jamison once delivered, and in it, an island named Mount Phoenix was referenced. With a new life and different challenges, Jamison decided he should try a new life with people like him.
PANTHEON: Celtic CHILD OF: Brigid POWERS:
Metal working: Jamison has a natural prowess at metal working, especially talented in welding and blacksmithing. Fighting: Talented in martial arts, the demigod picked up a natural ability to learn and handle fights, though he does not try to use his fighting aptitude due to a new unfair advantage of his arm.
Medicinal Arts: Jamison has an innate knowledge of medicine treatment, able to apply a natural understanding to minor illnesses and injuries.
Inspiration: Thanks to his mother, the demigod is naturally creative, having strong natural abilities in art. And, when knowledgeable about something, the male is rather well-spoken.
STRENGTHS: Lovable, Caring, and Fun WEAKNESSES: Easily distracted, Homebody, Unserious

First phase of Taiwan's F-16V program is completed
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 02/06/2024 - 19:23in Military, War Zones
The $4.5 billion "Peace Phoenix Rising" program to upgrade 139 Taiwanese F-16 fighters to the F-16V configuration (Block 70-72) is completed, the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) announced on February 5. The next step in strengthening Taiwan's air defenses is to deliver 66 newly built F-16 jets in a comparable configuration, scheduled for the next two to three years.
The upgrade gives Taiwan's F-16s a capacity equivalent to or greater than most U.S. Air Force F-16s. The program is intended to help dissuade the People's Republic of China from a military attack on Taiwan.
The last jet updated for the "Viper" was delivered in December, after the final checks, AFLCMC said. The Taiwan Air Force, officially known as the Republic of China Air Force (RoCAF), ordered its first operational wing of F-16Vs in November 2021.
"This massive upgrade," as the AFLCMC described, provided the Taiwanese F-16s with the AESA AN/APG-83 radar built by Northrop Grumman, the Sniper sighting pod, Link 16, a helmet-mounted signaling system, accurate GPS Navigation, advanced weapon capability, an upgraded modular mission computer, a high-speed data Ethernet network, a new cabin pedestal central display and reinforced landing gear.

“Additional modifications to the aircraft include a series of structural upgrades to the wings, fuselage and landing gear that make the aircraft more capable and sustainable. It also allows for a heavier takeoff, as well as a higher landing weight,” said Nathan Frock, interim manager of the AFLCMC safety assistance program for the Taiwan F-16 modernization program.
The update program began in 2016 and the first completed aircraft was delivered at the end of 2018. The "Peace Phoenix Rising" is the largest FMS program to modernize the F-16 since the F-16 was introduced to the U.S. Air Force in 1979, the AFLCMC said. Taiwan bought 150 F-16A/B fighters in 1992; most of them were updated under Peace Phoenix. The upgrade was originally supposed to cover 144 aircraft, but there have been wear and tear losses since the original order.
Taiwan requested the upgrade of Block 70 and the sale of the new jet after being rejected in the purchase of F-35.

The completion of the program follows a letter from 24 U.S. lawmakers to Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall in November 2023, asking USAF to expedite the completion of the program and move quickly with the subsequent purchase of $8 billion of 66 new F-16Vs approved by Congress in 2019. They observed that the updates were delayed and the newly built fighters were postponed for at least two and maybe three years.
"We still consider these cases of FMS to be high-risk," the legislators said. Members said that the two cases of the FMS - the update and sales of the new F-16 - were "impacted from its inception by optimistic assumptions about how quickly new technologies and modifications could be integrated" into the F-16 project.
“Taiwan urgently needs these new and updated aircraft, and a stronger and more resilient Taiwan will improve stability across the Taiwan Strait,” they said.

U.S. Air Force procurement executive Andrew Hunter responded that USAF is exploring “all options to prioritize and expedite” the transfer of new F-16V to Taipei.
Although the first two new jets were expected to be delivered at the end of 2023, this did not happen; the delay was attributed by USAF and Lockheed Martin to "complex development challenges" in the development of new software for hunting. Industry sources now say that Taiwan should receive its first F-16 Block 70 in the third quarter of 2024.
In their letter to Kendall, lawmakers asked USAF not to make "equally optimistic assumptions when demonstrating in the future. We can't afford to promise too much and deliver little to our closest friends."
President Joe Biden's administration pledged to accelerate the foreign military sales process and, last week, reported that 2023 was a record year for FMS agreements, totaling $80.9 billion, an increase of 55% from fiscal year 2022.
Unlike the previous F-16s, which had a lifespan of about 8,000 hours, the newly built F-16Vs will have a service life of 12,000 hours.

The Taiwan Aerospace Industry Development Center (AIDC) was a subcontractor of Lockheed in Taiwan. Together, the two companies designed and built the F-CK-1 Ching Kuo, or IDF (Indigenous Defense Fighter), developed in Taiwan, 130 of which were delivered in the 1990s. The jets are considered to have capacity between the Northrop F-5E, which Taiwan also flies, and the F-16. The Taiwan Air Force also includes 2000 Dassault Mirage jets, some of which may have their service life extended due to delays in the delivery of the F-16V.
The AFLCMC said it is now working on a second phase of the upgrade project - "Peace Phoenix Rising Modernization II" - which will add capacity to the AGM-88 (HARM) high-speed anti-radiation missile, an automatic ground collision prevention system, the MS-110 multispectral recognition pods and the AGM-154 Joint Stand-Off Weapon (JSOW).
"We know that this work has not been completed, as we continue to accelerate the capacity upgrades of the existing F-16 fleet of the Taiwan Air Force, but it is definitely worth highlighting the successful achievement of this important milestone," said Colonel Eddie Wagner, Senior Materials Leader of the AFLCMC F-16 FMS programs.

Taiwan was also approved for infrared search and tracking (IRST) systems worth $500 million for the F-16s last August. Legion IRST systems are considered essential to help fourth-generation fighters, such as F-16 aircraft sight jets with low radar cross-section, such as China's J-20.
“I am extremely proud of how all stakeholders involved with this critical modification [Peace Phoenix Rising] were able to overcome so many obstacles, including the COVID-19 pandemic, to deliver all 139 modernized aircraft by the end of 2023,” Wagner said. "We know that the work is not completed while we continue to accelerate the capacity upgrades of the existing F-16 fleet of the Taiwan Air Force, but it is definitely worth highlighting the successful achievement of this important milestone."
Lockheed has at least six customers for the Lockheed F-16V/Block 70 and delivered the first two to Slovakia in January. Company officials say they intend to produce up to 36 F-16 fighters per year by the end of 2024 and 48 per year by the end of 2025 at the Lockheed factory in Greenville, South Carolina, where the production of the F-16 was transferred from Fort Worth, Texas, several years ago. However, at these rates, it will be a challenge to deliver all new F-16V from Taiwan by 2026.

O.J. Sanchez, vice president of the integrated hunting group and general manager of Lockheed, said the company sees substantial opportunities to upgrade the F-16, with more than 3,000 F-16 jets flying around the world. Greece, for example, has accepted more than 10 F-16 fighters updated for configuration V of the 84 that are expected to be delivered by 2027.
