Apple Might Introduce This Major Design Change

Exciting Possibilities at WWDC 2023 As the time approaches for the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2023, Apple enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the exciting announcements expected at the event. The conference is expected to bring news of the latest OS updates, a possible mixed reality headset, and much more. With rumors already circulating about iOS 17, recent news has revealed that watchOS 10 will bring a major change to the Apple Watch user interface, focusing on widgets.
Widgets at the Center of watchOS 10
According to a recent newsletter by Mark Gurman, the upcoming watchOS 10 will feature a major UI redesign, putting widgets at the center. Widgets were a priority when the Apple Watch first launched in 2015, and it seems that they will now become a central part of the device. This redesign will take inspiration from watchOS' Glances feature and the widget style launched with iOS 14. Users will be able to easily scroll through widgets to access activity tracking, calendars, and other functionalities. Apple Watch's new Siri watch face in watchOS 4 will also serve as inspiration for the new design, and it will be similar to widget stacks that are available in iOS and iPadOS. Currently, the Apple Watch interface focuses on apps that can be launched with a single tap on the digital crown. Gurman also suggests that Apple is working on a new physical button functionality, which will make widgets accessible through a dedicated button. This move is another indication of Apple's focus on widgets in the upcoming watchOS 10. https://twitter.com/markgurman/status/1652693594329985029?ref_src=twsrctfwtwcamptweetembedtwterm1652693594329985029twgrf5e33daee257cece9d9901a290f0041cd3e22289twcons1_&ref_url=httpsbeebom.comapple-watchos-big-update-wwdc-2023
Subjective Acceptance and Optional UI Change
While the new widget-based UI design sounds promising, its acceptance could be subjective, and it remains to be seen how it will impact users' experience. Given the possibility of polarizing opinions, Gurman suggests that the UI change may be optional. This year's Apple Watch models, allegedly called the Apple Watch Series 9, are expected to be incremental upgrades and similar to the Apple Watch Series 8. As Apple is yet to reveal its plans for WWDC 2023 and the events that will follow, Apple enthusiasts eagerly await the conference, scheduled for June 5. With exciting possibilities on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how the new watchOS 10 design, focused on widgets, will impact the Apple Watch's user interface. Read the full article
