on 5x09 now… and imho s5 is the weakest season of Justified so far :/
#the crowes are just suuuuch a snoozefest#possibly the least compelling and least sympathetic villains the show has introduced#jean baptiste had potential - only for them to off him very unceremoniously#and it has yet to be brought up again#daryl crowe jr is not the mastermind of this family the way they try and portray him to be#wendy crowe is predictable#and i can see the archetype w danny crowe being the wild card whose fuck ups & impulsivity hinders their ability to do anything productive#and dewey being the weakest one that gets pushed around but utilized for his connections#but it just. doesn’t work#picker and duffy have been underutilized#and picker killing off a bunch of the detroit players has seriously undercut the impact of that storyline#elias marcos? also promising and also underutilized#raylans situationship w allison . also boring#very much the same as every other situationship w every other beautiful woman he has had on this show#while he stays far away from his then pregnant ex wife and now his newborn daughter and ex wife#the introduction of agent miller is so far the only thing i think seems like a good decision#ava being in prison all season is frustrating and her having an abysmal time and being targeted by other inmates so egregiously is tiresome#boyd’s protection in prison was his father - but once bo died - how exactly was he protected?#that wasn’t made clear enough for me#if the bought guards and white supremacy ties aren’t solid enough to keep ava protected - why were they enough to keep boyd protected?#if boyd is considered a race traitor (for preaching tolerance in s1) by the same ppl he relied on for protection#then why was he untouchable during his time in prison AFTER s1??#he had to go out of his way to instigate being beaten up in order to get to dickie#and why would ava continue to be targeted after boyd retaliated against gunnar swift??#just doesn’t altogether make sense#but. whatever ig#oh it speaks#justified
