So I've primed/undercoated the Epic Pike and Shotte Scots Covenanter battalion which I had, but I'm not going to do them as Scots Covenanters. I'll be doing them as one of the fictional human forces for my weird pike and shot fantasy setting, so they'll be having red bonnets and green tunics.

For naming... the Eastmarch Borderers keeps springing to mind, so I'll go with that.

The Irish are coming

Nadciągają Irlandczycy i Szkoci czyli nowości do Pike and Shotte Epic.

Na razie w przedsprzedaży jako nowości na listopad dostajemy dostajemy dwa duże zestawy ( jeden duży a drugi jeszcze większy ) czyli rojalistów markiza Montrose i szkockie siły Covenantu.

Razem z dużymi zestawami zamówić możemy też nowe pudełko piechoty dzięki któremu zrobimy regimenty szkockie czy irlandzkie.

Lada chwila powinny też pojawić się pudełka "highlanderów" ( w żywicy) oraz pudełko szkockiej kawalerii.

Wszyscy, którzy jak ja nie mogę się już doczekać, mogą umilić sobie czekanie kupując listopadowy numer magazynu Wargames Illustrated gdzie znajdziemy darmową ramkę nowej piechoty.

Co ciekawe zrezygnowano tu z pojedynczych pikinierów a zamiast tego mamy na ramce dragonów lub muszkieterów i lekkie działo.

Fani Wojny Trzydziestoletniej na nowości będą musieli jeszcze trochę poczekać. Wiadomo natomiast, że doczekamy się osobnego zestawu kirasjerów. W przyszłości zaś nie wykluczone są takie modele jak husaria czy Turcy Osmańscy.

I'm finally calling the first batch of musketmen done!

Man did it take forever for me to find the motivation to finish these guys. It's so satisfying to call these guys done and putting them in a pretty formation like this. I think for my next batch, I'm probably gonna be more consistant with the hats. Cowboy hats are gonna be some shade of brown, and the caps are gonna be the same color as the jacket. It feels great to knock another thicc chunk out of my freeguild stuff, and it's got me real motivated to keep going.

Rant

I hate that there are sooo many interesting looking miniatures games out there, and the people in my local gaming community only play 40k and Sigmar. I’ve been watching Sharpe’s all day, and thinking to myself, “Black Powder minis look like they’d be terribly fun to paint” and “the Pike and Shotte rules look awesome!” But what’s the point if I don’t have anyone to play against…

Wargames Illustrated 424 arrived in the US, through Ironheart Artisans' distribution. It's 2023 and we learned a long time ago that you can't mail irregular-shaped solid items in thin plastic bags -- USPS sends envelopes through high speed rollers with predictable results when anything thicker than papers or credit cards are inside. I actually was surprised that only 2 figures were broken off the sprue, and one was still present in the other end of the torn inner bag. Other issues have had bent/broken figures bases or smashed details on ships and multiple missing pieces.

In the case of this sprue it's no great loss. The figures look identical to pictures posted in reviews that Warlord themselves apparently have described as "substandard castings that we should not be sending out."

While Rod Danielewski z Malgorzata Mazowsze's pike-and-shotte infantry regiments repeated and continuous triumphs as an unbreakable bulwark of cold steel and black powder against the unwashed hordes of the southern emirates and sultanates is as much a sight to behold as it is the object of commendation in the eyes of both the Conservative and the Reformed states of The New Gods. I must confess that The 29th and Reigning Margrave of Mazowsze's reformed infantry regiments remain admittedly untested against the professional militaries of both the Conservative and the Reformed monarchies, principalities, and aristocracies of The Empire of Mankind Secundus.
