(SNEAK PEEK) The Little Smiling Mermaid Chapter 10
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone! ❄️ While I couldn’t get Chapter 10 done on time, I figured it would be a better gift to my fellow Charpim shippers to offer a sneak peek of a chapter I’m putting a lot of love and care into then rushing it all together for the sake of uploading right away.
Hope you enjoy!
After getting cleaned up and dressed, Smormu lead Pim to the dining hall to properly meet Queen Dolores. “A pity I don’t know your name yet, I’d totally make one of my bombastic introduction speeches! But hey, take your time and make yourself comfortable bestie!” chirped Smormu, who opened the door for Pim to reveal a stunning dining hall decorated with polished wooden furniture, flowers and gilded accents. Pim felt as if he was literally stepping into one of those fairytales he read about in the books he stashed in his grotto. The bashful critter curtseyed to the dining party consisting of Charlie, Mipnessa, Mr. Boss, Eustace and a delightfully surprised Queen Dolores. “Is this the stowaway you told me about, my dear grandson?” “Sure is! She’s not exactly the chatterbox type but she’s knows how to dance! Lemme tell ya when we where sailing home she fit right in with my motley crew, we all thought she was life of the party!” Mipnessa suddenly started verbally reminiscing of her experience on the ship: “I sure loved that dance we shared when Thomas played on your ocarina! That was so romantic!” Charlie replied: “Yeah, that was fun, you’re a good dancer too Mip, who could forget when we where spinning each other around? It was all Shakespearean!” “Oh Charliekins, you’re my brave sea-faring buccaneer!” Pim couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Mipnessa’s fawning before walking up to Mr. Boss pulling out his seat. Eustace raised an eyebrow, asking Mr. Boss, “You found this girl out at sea, presuming she’s lone survivor of a shipwreck?” “Well, we couldn’t let her stay there and starve to death.” “You can’t just go around letting my nephew pick up random strangers he finds at sea, let alone random commoner women. She could be seducing Charlie away from Mipnessa for all we know.” Mr. Boss shook his head at the Duke in disapproval of his words, “It was my idea to save her, quit assuming Charlie’s nothing but impulses! Charlie might be a wild horse but he’s grown up into a brave and noble boy. He helped rescue that girl with me, he has his heart in the right place.” Eustace attested, “…and then that girl’s gonna somehow bear his- OH goodness gracious are you seriously using a fork like that?!” Mr. Boss took notice of Eustace’s sudden outburst as all eyes drew to Pim combing his hair with what his cousin Graham called “a dinglehopper”. Mipnessa stuck her nose up and looked away, “Hmoh, that girl must be seriously confused.” Pim noticed the bewildered expressions on everyone, and froze in embarrassment. “What, I’m the only one around here who uses a fork as a comb when in a pinch?” Charlie blurted out, prompting Mr. Boss, Smormu and Queen Dolores to all burst into laughter. Mipnessa joined in with a small giggle and Pim smiled, reassured that he was far from the only weirdo in the room and there was no hard feelings.
~
Meanwhile, Alan just so happened to let his ever-so persistent anxiety nag him into sneaking into the Dompler’s castle to keep an eye on Pim. While he entered the wrong room via window sill much to his disappointment, he couldn’t deny that the kitchen smelled heavenly. Alan figured he’d scurry in as quickly as possible then sneak away to find Pim. He dramatically leaped onto the counter where he meant to look for another lower platform to hop onto, but found himself distracted by an alluring aroma coming from whatever that cubed stuff was that plate. Cheese was something of a rarity in the sea, whenever sea critters took a crack at making it it was more like cottage cheese or cream cheese. Depending on how it was made it would either be a lightly sweet and fresh taste from the creamy seal milk or it was a lumpy, plain-tasting, curdled milk disaster that one would only gift to another as some sort of cruel joke. Alan couldn’t help himself and tried at least one of the cheese cubes, taking one peck, Alan was blown away by the buttery nutty umami strongly contrasting to the light and refreshing dishes in the sea that would consist of rice, ocean greens and the occasional rich meatiness of the occasional roast sea beast. Alan just has to try another…and another….lemme tell ya this dude was immediately hooked!
Thank you for reading this excerpt, “The Little Smiling Mermaid” Chapter 10 will drop in January and the fic will resume every-two-week updates sometime between then and February.

The surprise winner of last Wednesday’s election in the Netherlands is the longest-serving member of the Dutch House of Representatives: Geert Wilders. The far-right politician—known primarily for his anti-Islam radicalism, his pro-Putin views, and his hairdo—was first elected in 1998, but for years, he was shut out from the governing coalitions. Now, however, he holds the whip hand. His Party for Freedom (PVV) won 37 seats out of 150, up from 17 two years ago, dramatically outperforming the polls and placing well ahead of its closest competitor, the joint list of the Greens and the Labor Party (GL-PvdA).
But the path from there to becoming prime minister is a long and uncertain one.
In fact, the PVV had been subject to a cordon sanitaire ever since the fall of outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s first government in 2012, which it had supported (and which for that reason was colloquially referred to as Brown I, after the fascist brownshirts, instead of Rutte I). The PVV’s platform calls for bans on the Quran, on mosques, and on Islamic schools; a retraction of the Dutch king’s apology for slavery and the restoration of blackface at St. Nicholas celebrations; as well as an abolition of asylum and of free movement of workers within the European Union. Even by the standards of contemporary national conservatives, the platform is made up of a poisonous mix of heinous impulses.
Wilders maintained his presence in parliament, but his appeal and influence were limited while his caucus calcified, as it has now: Eight of the 10 longest-serving members in the new Dutch House are PVV members. But Wilders is the only member of the party as a legal entity, and its absolute ruler as a result, unbound by leadership elections or other concerns. The party does not organize conferences and such, and many of its incoming representatives do not know each other or their new colleagues. Combine that with the lack of outside options, thanks to the party’s reputation, for Wilders’s elected officials, and you end up with a predictable caucus of goons and misfits.
The explicit agreement among mainstream parties to exclude Wilders from governing coalitions came to an end this summer. Rutte brought down his own government over a minor disagreement with one of his coalition partners, the Christian Union, over family reunification rules for asylum recipients. Rutte’s successor as VVD party leader, Justice Minister Dilan Yesilgoz, then opened the door to cooperation with the PVV to rally voters who favor a right-wing government around her.
Wilders jumped at the opportunity and claimed that his priorities had shifted toward health care and economic anxiety. The Dutch media ecosystem complied and started referring to him as “Geert Milders.” As he started rising in the polls, especially after the conflict in Gaza broke out, Yesilgoz tried to walk back her earlier words.
Too little, too late: Voters preferred the original over the copy. In that sense, Wilders’s rise fits American political scientist Larry Bartels’s thesis—that democracy erodes from the top—almost perfectly.
While that is the immediate explanation for Wilders’s success, alarms bells about discontent among a large group of voters—and an openness to wild options—had been ringing for some time. Earlier this year, the agrarian-populist Farmer-Citizen Movement (BBB) became the largest party in the Dutch Senate after winning the provincial elections on its first try. In 2019, the radical-right conspiracy theorists of Forum for Democracy had similarly made their Senate debut as the largest party.
This impulse predates Wilders’s founding of the PVV in 2006: The right-populist Pim Fortuyn List broke through with 26 seats in 2002 after its eponymous founder was murdered by an animal rights activist. It also extends beyond voters open to Wilders’s message. On Wednesday, in addition to Wilders’s large gains, a new party (the New Social Contract) led by former Christian-Democrat Pieter Omtzigt, the second-most veteran member of the Dutch House, secured 20 seats mere months after its founding.
It is not obvious what the Dutch political class can or will plausibly do to address this discontent. It is not merely a thermostatic response to left-wing policy: Eternal prime minister Mark Rutte has mostly led fairly bland center-right governments since he entered office in 2010, while his predecessor was a Christian-Democrat.
In fact, there is a bloc of voters whose expressed wishes are so far out of line with majority opinion and with the domestic and international legal frameworks that the Netherlands has spent decades developing and promoting that they will not be satisfied by any realistic policy changes. These voters include the 50 percent of Wilders’s supporters who have been loyal to him for the past decade, and those who have stuck with the Forum for Democracy as even its own elected officials fled the party’s mix of antisemitism, anti-vaccine lunacy, racism, and love of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Like comparable voters in other countries, they are heavily male, lower-income, less likely to hold a college degree, and detached from social networks.
Disaffected voters outside of Wilders’ core supporters harbor a mix of concerns that include some where policy and governance could and should be improved—though that’s easier said than done. The nitrogen emission crisis that catapulted the BBB to its Senate victory requires difficult choices over land use—between agricultural activity, housing, infrastructure, and nature preservation—that simply need to be made instead of paralyzing the country for years.
Relatedly, housing policy in the Netherlands, as in the United States and elsewhere in the West, has been a disaster for decades. Limited construction in the face of ongoing urbanization, population growth, and ever decreasing household size has placed home ownership and even the ability to rent out of reach for far too many. Too many Dutch politicians, including mainstream ones, try to place the blame for these problems, which are of their own making, on migrants.
The Dutch system of capital income taxation is in flux after elements of it were struck down by the courts. Natural gas extraction in the northeast, suspended last month, caused earthquakes and significant damage: Many affected homeowners still await compensation. The child care benefit scandal that ended Rutte’s third government and made Omtzigt’s career ruined the lives of thousands of families, many of whom still await compensation as well.
But are these areas where a Wilders government would dramatically improve matters? Take the child care benefit scandal, the biggest political scandal in the Netherlands in recent years. The Dutch tax agency concluded it had targeted victimized families on the basis of national origin, donations to mosques, and “not looking Dutch.” It’s like putting U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez in charge of monitoring the Egyptian government’s human rights record.
On the international front, there are ways to reduce immigration at the margin: by forcing Dutch universities to offer more instruction in Dutch or by raising taxes on high-skilled immigrants. Such changes would be costly to institutions of higher learning, the Dutch knowledge economy, and industrial champions such as ASML, and I’m sure some of these same voters would complain about that in turn. The Netherlands could scale down its climate agenda somewhat, though significant aspects of it are managed at the EU level. And the country could return to its traditional position of budgetary hawkishness within the European Union after a brief excursion to Club Med—though Wilders’s platform, which calls for a lower pension age, reduced VAT, and more public health care spending, goes in the opposite direction.
But whether it’s immigration, EU membership, religious freedom, or Dutch support for Ukraine, there simply is no path forward for the dramatic policy shifts envisioned by Wilders and his ilk. There is no pro-Putin majority among Dutch MPs (or voters). The Netherlands is not going to leave the EU and reintroduce the guilder or convince NATO to expel Turkey. It is not going to abolish its representation in Ramallah because “it already has an embassy in Amman,” as the PVV stated in its election manifesto.
In fact, let’s not get ahead of ourselves: It is not at all obvious that there is a majority in the Dutch House that supports a government led by Wilders or one that his party participates in. The two indispensable parties for any majority are Omtzigt’s New Social Contract and, as has been the case for years now, the VVD.
During the campaign, Omtzigt suggested that he would not govern with Wilders; he predictably changed his tune this week. It would be somewhat ironic if partnerships with Wilders became the unifying thread of the political career of Omtzigt, a man who has long claimed to care deeply about religious freedom. Those who recall how American warriors for religious freedom responded to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s Muslim ban will not be shocked.
The VVD has adopted a trickier position. Despite triggering the election and opening the door to Wilders, it has now announced that it’s tuning out. It is unwilling to join any coalition—though it would be willing to support a minority right-wing government, presumably formed by PVV, the New Social Contract, and BBB. Such a government would effectively be Rutte I in reverse, with the VVD and the PVV swapping places and the New Social Contract and BBB taking the place of the Christian-Democratic party that Omtzigt was then a part of.
Variations will surely be considered, and I imagine that Yesilgoz would happily join a coalition if she gets to be prime minister. Wilders is responsible for selecting a so-called “scout” to explore the possibilities. His first choice was forced to resign when news broke that Utrecht University, the scout’s former employer, had filed charges of fraud and bribery against him. The new beacon of hope for concerned citizens is Ronald Plasterk, a former education and home affairs minister for the Labor Party who has drifted to the right in recent years.
The alternative to a right-wing coalition—off the table while Wilders has the initiative—would be a broad centrist coalition in which the VVD and New Social Contract are joined by the GL-PvdA and either the liberal Democrats 66 party or the BBB. But even consideration of that option is unlikely to happen before 2024.
This route would not be a very satisfying outcome to many New Social Contract and VVD voters. At the same time, it would avoid not just Wilders, but also a coalition featuring two entirely new parties, including many inexperienced and unvetted PVV MPs. For the outgoing prime minister, who has set his sights on a leadership role at NATO or the European Commission, it would surely constitute a more attractive legacy. And at a time of geopolitical upheaval, it might be the responsible choice.
Though the size of Wilders’ win came as a major surprise, these two coalition options were basically already on the table based on preelection polling. Ironically, a shift to the right may well be less likely now than if Wilders had won fewer seats. As the leader of the largest party, he would traditionally become prime minister. To his potential coalition partners, that may be a bridge too far in a way that a less dominant role might not have been.
But regardless of the eventual outcome and whatever else may motivate his voters, Wilders’s victory is first and foremost a message of intense hatred toward the Netherlands’ ethnic and religious minorities as well as its immigrant population. The legitimation of Wilders’s open bigotry and the willingness of millions of Dutch voters to tell their neighbors and co-workers that they find their mere existence odious are, well, not great.

WAT CHAIYO VORA VIHAN is situated at Chaiyo District, Angthong Province. This temple was built in the Kingdom of Ayutthaya, and later in between BE 2400 to BE 2409 Somdej Pra Buddhachan Toh made a very large Buddha statue in Mara Vichai Gesture, the villagers called it “Luang Phor Toh” which means “huge Buddha statue”. The Luang Phor Toh was made from brick and coated with white plaster cement, and the statue was in an open area without a roof. This area is a birth place of his mother, “Ket”. As customs and cultural beliefs, Somdej Pra Buddhachan Toh made a Batch of Buddha amulets storing inside the body of Luang Phor Toh in memory and on the merit of his mother.
In BE 2430, Lord Rattanabordintorn (Rod Kanlayanamit) was appointed by King Rama V of Bangkok to the master of the restoration project of Wat Chaiyo. Lord Rattanabordintorn decided to make temple building to cover Luang Phor Toh, and the foundation work had destroyed Luang Phor Toh to crumble to the ground, and “Pra Somdej Ket Chaiyo” amulets hidden in a chamber in the body of Luang Phor Toh spilled onto the ground, the villagers there picked them up and kept them for themselves, but thousands of the amulets were given to Luang Ta Rod, the Abbot of Wat Pho Griiap, Angthong Province and Luang Ta Rod stored them inside a small stupa/chedi at Wat Pho Griiap. After the completion of the restoration work, and Luang Phor Toh, the Principle Buddha Statue of Wat Chaiyo was restored, coated with black lacquer, and patched with gold foils, the new name was given by the King Rama V to “Pra Maha Buddha Pim” , and the temple was Given a new name to Wat Chaiyo Vora Vihan (Ket Chaiyo). At the same time, Lord Rattanabordin (Boonrod) ordered the villagers to bring back Pra Somdej Ket Chaiyo amulets, and put them back inside the body of Pra Maha Buddha Pim, but allowed each villager to keep only few amulets. Those amulets were put back in the chamber inside the chest of “Pra Maha Buddha Pim”. Later in the year BE 2502 (CE 1959), Pra Somdej Ket Chaiyo that Luang Ta Rod stored inside a small stupa/chedi at Wat Pho Griiap was robbed, and the chamber inside the small stupa/chedi was empty.
BEFORE BE 2500 (CE 1957), the batch of Pra Somdej Ket Chaiyo was found inside Pra Maha Buddha Pim together with small numbers of Pra Somdej Wat Rakang made by Somdej Pra Buddhachan Toh, but the historians could not confirm that Pra Somdej Ket Chaiyo amulets were truly made by Somdej Toh. However, the batch of Pra Somdej Ket Chaiyo amulets was authenticated its provenance later in the year BE 2500 (CE 1957) after the chamber of stupa/chedi of Wat Mai Amataros (Wat Bang Khun Prom) was opened and the small quantity of Pra Somdej Ket Chaiyo amulets were also stored inside the chamber with Pra Somdej Bang Khun Prom amulets made by Somdej Pra Buddhachan Toh.

FASTING BUDDHA

Thus, showing him as an emaciated renouncer relates to his enlightenment and his status as a yogic ascetic who has ultimate control over his body). In Buddhism, fasting is considered a method of purification. Fasting in Buddhism is to develop control of one’s attachments so the mind can be freed to develop higher awareness. Also fasting can be done so that one restricts from a pleasure (food) and dedicate it to someone sick, in need or dying. Basically to restrict one’s body from the normal food intake is to develop discipline, awareness, self-control and even appreciation for all one has.

….Ah screw it! I’m gonna ramble about this Charpim fic that isn’t The Little Mermaid AU. It’s got a lot of drama/conflict/angst/hurt/comfort plus it’s unapologetically queer you will see why.
First off, I have this fic idea where Pim is a drag queen performing at a nightclub and he has a platform online where he sings songs under his drag name for safety reasons, he comes home one night to find his place got robbed after coming home and he’s absolutely mortified….then he finds a clue in the form of a ring encrusted with a star sign and a birthstone. Now Pim has to crack the code and figure out who the hell stole his stuff! Oh and he also has to clear Charlie’s name when his girlfriend Zoey breaks up with him for something he didn’t do and to top it all off, Pim’s piece-of-shit sister Amy is instigating a shit ton of drama between everyone…and with all of this complete and utter f*ckery going on Pim decides he’s gonna put his foot down and not be so soft and submissive anymore. He’s gonna put his foot down, bite back and start putting the assholes in their place! Life is too short to just let people walk all over you. He also wrestles his own inner demons like his longtime jealousy over Charlie and Susan and the fact he is kicking himself over how he doesn’t wanna come off like he is using their breakup to get together with Charlie so he struggles to confess his feelings….also on a side note Pim FINALLY signs up for therapy to deal with his bottled up issues.
The fic’s working title is “Name A Bitch Badder Than Pim Pimling”. Any questions? (Yes I gave Charlie’s GF a name)
EDIT: So apparently in the Spanish Dub for SF Charlie's girlfriend is named Zoey and I made this post before that info became more well-known and prior I dubbed her as Susan....Zoey is a cute name OMG

Scayle: The Enterprise eCommerce Engine You Didn't Know You Needed
Is your current eCommerce platform holding your business back instead of propelling it forward? For enterprise retailers scaling globally, this isn’t just a tech question—it’s a strategic one.
Enter Scayle, the commerce technology born from one of Europe's fastest-growing fashion giants. Built for businesses aiming to own their infrastructure, data, and customer experience, Scayle isn't just another SaaS platform—it's a modular, API-first powerhouse that gives you freedom, flexibility, and future-ready performance.
What Is Scayle, and Why Does It Matter?
Developed by ABOUT YOU, one of Europe’s largest fashion e-retailers, Scayle started as an internal solution that now powers over €2.5 billion in annual revenue. Today, it’s available to enterprise retailers worldwide seeking high-performance, customisable eCommerce infrastructure without the usual SaaS limitations.
Unlike traditional platforms that bundle everything in one rigid system, Scayle is composable—you select and scale only what you need: headless storefronts, APIs, PIM (Product Information Management), OMS (Order Management System), and more.
A Shift Towards Composable Commerce
Retailers today demand flexibility. With ever-evolving customer expectations, mobile-first trends, and multi-channel complexity, monolithic systems just can’t keep up. That’s why composable commerce—where you stitch together best-of-breed tools for your stack—is quickly becoming the new standard.
Scayle is leading this shift. Its headless, API-first architecture allows enterprises to deploy global storefronts, localised campaigns, and personalised experiences at speed.
And with ownership over code, data, and infrastructure, you're no longer beholden to a platform's limitations or licensing structure.
Why Enterprises Are Choosing Scayle
Here’s why retailers scaling across regions and channels are turning to Scayle:
Modular Stack – Choose only what you need: PIM, OMS, cart, etc.
Faster Launches – Speed up market rollouts with flexible APIs.
Built-In Scalability – From flash sales to seasonal spikes, Scayle handles load seamlessly.
Data Ownership – No vendor lock-in. Your platform, your rules.
Enterprise Support – Technical partners like Wagento help you get live and stay optimised.
Scayle doesn’t replace your brand’s DNA—it enhances it.

Our role isn’t just technical. We collaborate to optimise customer experience, workflow automation, and backend efficiency—ensuring your commerce infrastructure works as hard as your sales team does.
Complementary Technologies You Shouldn't Ignore
Choosing Scayle doesn’t mean abandoning the broader ecosystem. Some solutions work brilliantly alongside or in transitional phases before full Scayle adoption:
BigCommerce – For mid-market brands exploring headless commerce on a simpler stack.
Magento Open Source – A developer-friendly platform for those wanting full control with a large open-source community.
WooCommerce – Ideal for content-heavy or hybrid commerce models built on WordPress.
These platforms remain strong options when budget, internal resources, or market readiness favour them. Wagento guides clients to the right fit—not just the newest tool.
Final Thoughts

PIMinto - Innovative database for efficient management of product information
What is PIMinto? PIMinto is a modern product database designed to simplify and speed up the processes of managing, editing and distributing information about products and their digital assets. This solution combines an intuitive interface, flexible architecture and powerful tools for centralized data management, ensuring high efficiency and reliability of business processes in the field of e-commerce, retail, manufacturing and distribution.
Simplify work with data Product Information Management (PIM) is often associated with many tasks: from uploading and editing specifications to maintaining a media library and ensuring the relevance of data on various platforms. PIMinto PIM helps to get rid of disparate sources and manual operations. The system provides centralized access to all product-related information - descriptions, characteristics, images, video content and technical documentation. All this allows teams to work in concert, avoiding duplication and data loss.
Acceleration of processes The speed of updating and disseminating information is a key factor for success in modern business. PIMinto automates routine tasks: mass editing, updating information on websites, marketplaces and catalog systems. Thanks to support for various export and import formats, integration with popular platforms and APIs, data exchange becomes fast, secure and controlled. This is especially important for companies with a large range of products and frequent changes in catalogs.
Digital assets under control Another strong point of PIMinto is digital asset management (DAM). Images, videos, diagrams, certificates — all files are stored in a structured system with convenient search, filtering and versioning. This greatly simplifies the life of marketing and content teams, providing quick access to the necessary materials and preventing errors associated with the use of outdated files.
Flexibility and scalability PIMinto is suitable for both small companies and large enterprises thanks to its modular approach. The system is easily adapted to the needs of the business - be it a local store with several hundred products or an international network with thousands of SKUs. The expandable architecture allows you to add new functions as the company grows, integrate with ERP, CMS and other systems.
Conclusion PIMinto is not just a database, but a full-fledged tool for systematizing and accelerating work with product information and digital assets. It helps businesses be flexible, accurate and fast, creating a reliable foundation for development and growth. By choosing PIMinto, companies receive not only a technological advantage, but also tangible savings in time and resources.
