The indoor unit is connected directly to the outdoor compressor through a refrigerant line, suction tubing, a power cable, and a condensate drain line as opposed to a complex duct system. Due to the absence of ducts and vents, mini-split systems are not predisposed to pressure imbalances, heat gains, or air leaks that could negatively affect their performance or efficiency.
