@floresjeremy Congratulations Jeremy Flores winning the 2017 Pipeline Masters ! VIVE LA FRANCE FELICITATIONS Jeremy ! SWIPE RIGHT FOR THE FEELS ! Nobody else throughout the event had the same intensity , fire and passion that Jeremy exhibited . As he said in an earlier interview that day "I've been having to fight the system all year and that's fine I will continue to fight " Jeremy's claims were guttural , they showed us a year of setbacks and early round loses and making it right today at the final event. During the Final with our world Champion John John Florence , Jeremy had such discipline . He didn't waver from his plan . He was fixated on the fight and knew what he had to do . But something happened and he was behind and losing . Even though it was only 5 mins left, Jeremy needed an 8+ scoring wave to beat John John... and his nerves of steel didn't let him go on something lesser than a scoring wave .... I went down the beach to see if that last wave would come because I still had a feeling it would . Not phased by Johns busy antics , he would not relinquish priority because he knew " you gotta be on the bombs to beat John John" and like a fairytale or sports drama movie , in the last moments inside literally 30seconds, that wave came out the back and Jeremy pulled in deeper than he had before , and disappeared from view pumping hard through a pipeline barrel probably blind from the water hitting him in the face and emerged the victor . He threw down a claim like no other and saluted the judges and added a couple of throwing down the hands and you could feel his feelings of success . But he didn't really know . Moments later he was in the water but his back to the judges looking out to the ocean - They deliberated for minutes . He didn't really know. Walking up the beach they read the score and he erupted in joy . The release was chill bringing. I was so proud of him , he'd really done it and yes 7 years later , this makes him a 2 time Pipe Master .
