Placid Plastic Ducks got a spin off game of sort yesterday, and no it wasn't an April Fools, it's an actual game which cost me 89p to have ducks floating around my desktop!!!

Look at them!!! Aren't they great?!

I mean. They're a little in the way sometimes...

But I think I can live with them? Maybe?

Lil sad they only stay on one screen, they don't wander over to my second monitor, but eh

I was tagged by the ever-awesome @emmaswanned to post a list of games I can't stop thinking about!

Since it said "thinking about," I broke this into games I've played, games I'm currently playing and games I own and am intending to play very soon. 'Cause I'm just Like That™️what can I say? 😉 I was planning on also including games I don't own but am hoping to get soon but, well, that would've been another 25 game chart, I'd wager, lol! 👀😂😉

Games I've played

Obviously the Halo MCC gets the top slot here. It was the first game(s) I got for the PC and kicked off my incredibly fun gaming journey back in 2022. The Mass Effect Legendary Edition and ME Andromeda also have eternal places in my heart and on my hard drive, lol!

Resident Evil 2 Remake is my newest All-Time Favorite. Claire, Leon and Mr. X? 🤗🤗🤗 Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (and the original DR) are also eternal favorites. Frank West covered wars, you know? And won my heart in the process! 🤗💖

Batman Arkham Asylum, ZOMG, so much fun! I've been waiting years to play the Arkham series and it's delivering! Detroit: Become Human introduced me to characters I will love forever - Connor and Hank, Kara, Luther and Alice, Markus, Simon and North, all forever mah bbs! 🤗

The Quarry was my first interactive drama and I loved it so much! Cloudpunk is one I don't think I ever actually posted about, must remedy that one of these days because it was a lot of fun. The atmosphere of just flying around, listening to an awesome synthwave soundtrack in the beautiful neon environments made it a great, chill experience. Little Kitty Big City lets you roam around as an adorable little kitty, meeting other animal characters, trying on different hats and generally being as nice or chaotic as you'd like to be while you're trying to get back home.

Goat Simulator is one of the few games I tried to play when I first got my tablet and it ran the battery out so quickly the only way I could even play for a few minutes was while it was plugged in, lol! I had a ton of fun with it, though, so as soon as I saw this on sale, I grabbed it. It's a lot more fun when you're not stuck next to an outlet by a short charger cord, lol! Seriously, the chaos you can get up to in this game makes it super fun to play to blow off some steam!

Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is more of a productivity tool but I find myself loading it up just to tinkering with the room furnishings, to change the MC's clothes and just sorta chill with the atmosphere and music. Plus, I occasionally do get some writing done with the tools it provides to help. 😉

Power Wash Simulator is one I highly recommend if the idea of power washing away dirt without wasting any actual water appeals to you, lol! Seriously, this is another one where I can just turn off the frantic storm of my thoughts and just... clean things. So, so nice, highly recommended.

Firewatch is essentially a walking simulator where you travel from one place to another, uncovering bits of the story and unraveling a mystery, all while a forest fire closes in on you (no danger of death or game over'ing, it's all just the atmosphere). The voice acting is noteworthy, IMO, but I should warn that I don't typically get motion sickness with games and had a few moments of disorientation with the first person p.o.v. when you jump over fallen trees, off the sides of things, etc. Your mileage will vary, of course, but if you do have concerns about that, I'd suggest watching a bit of a Youtube walkthrough just to see if it seems like it might bother you.

Alan Wake is one I've heard about for a while and am so happy to have finally gotten the chance to experience! Great atmosphere, intriguing mystery and compelling characters, definitely can't wait to get Alan Wake 2 whenever I can! 😎👍

Placid Plastic Duck Simulator is a very simple little thing: plastic ducks spawn in and bob around in various swimming pools. You can't control them, all you can do is watch (and name them!). It reminds me of watching an aquarium, just that gentle swirling motion, something to help quiet my mind. I love it and watch it a lot (in between my, you know, FPS and ARPG, lol).

Games I'm playing

Batman Arkham City, ZOMG, you play part of the game as Catwoman and the JOY that brought me to discover that is immense! I mean, I love me my Batman, don't get me wrong, but just suddenly being Selina Kyle absolutely gave me literal heart eyes! This game is SO much bigger than Arkham Asylum but I'm figuring my way around. The motion is so fluid and beautiful! 😍😍😍

Games I own and am intending to play soon

Grim Fandango Remastered is one that I got as a demo on an actual CD-ROM in a magazine back with my very first computer that could just barely run it. But I played the utter heck out of that demo, wishing I could go beyond that opening section. Finding it on sale for $3 felt like a gift from present day me to past me, who was sitting there longing to play on after the demo ended. Just wait, Sis, you'll get to be a gamergirl eventually! 😉

Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 6 are two I can hardly wait to play! RE3R has you playing as Jill, taking place at the same time as Claire and Leon's adventures in RE2R. RE6 has Leon, Chris, Jake and Sherry (now grown from when she met Claire and Leon in RE2R). I'm super looking forward to both! 💖💖💖

Alien: Isolation is something I plan on playing in October to properly get my spookiness on, lol! It honestly might be too stressful/intense for me but, darn it, I'm going to give it a try anyway! 👀😉

Dragon Age: Inquisition will be my first foray into the Dragon Age series, yay! Death Stranding is one I've wanted to play for a lonnnnng while. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (and I have Survivor as well) is another that I've really been looking forward to. And lastly Tomb Raider (2013) is a franchise I've always wanted to play!
