There's a learning curve for sure so honestly don't worry about it lol. I don't really get it sometimes, or they don't even work... Oh, that's a good friend. Now you get to save your quarters for next time.

How do you feel about winterfield but Rose is the daughter of Ethan and Chris? :oo

like transmasc ethan and cis chris? i remember reading a post (a year ago i think) about how rosemary is ethan and chris' daugther (biologically) and something about the post talks about how chris (biological ties) is still there for rosemary even after ethan's death (nothing wrong with this , somewhat interesting hc to think about)

or like an adopted daughter? (which i prefer) my hc is for chris having an emotional disconnect between rose , not because they're in a bad relationship or chris hating on babies/toddlers , chris does view her as his own daughter , but it's just him having difficulties regulating what he's experiencing .

he's happy to be with ethan and rose, he does his responsibilities taking care and being there for rose , from outside he seemed to be a good step father for rose too. he thought that he'd react more emotionally when ethan accepts him into the picture and settle down to a domestic life , but it went as anticlimatic as it can get , it's not boring for chris , it can get hectic but there's a good amount of distance .

also there's a tinge of guilt from chris , he still feels like he's just a caretaker for both of them and nothing else because what happened in RE8 , something to repay his mistake , and he views himself as a 3rd wheeler in ethan and rose's relationship .

deep down he wished that he didn't "broke" what ethan and mia had , but ethan reassures him that it's their own mutual agreement to seperate . chris did express all of this to ethan , which surprised him since chris does his job well bonding with his daughter , but they agree to go to family counseling / therapy .

also somewhat related to this hc but chris is the parent who would encourage rose (hard) to take extra courses (math , science , instrument , etc) for her to excel in her class , on top of that he give her physical training to defend herself .

sometimes ethan (who's also a strict parent) refuses because he thinks that he's pushing rose too hard , chris who grew up with not a lot of nice things (with claire , this is my personal hc) disagrees , telling ethan that "this is one of a few ways to make her peers to respect her and not view her as a monster because of her condition" , not that he's a tiger parent , he just thinks that everyone should behave in a socially acceptable way (chris still had that military mindset).

in short, chris and ethan see how smart rose is and both of then doesn't want that opportunity to slide because who she is , both enforce hardwork is better than talent , chris is just stricter.

i don't think that josh was actually that close with a lot of the group until ironically after the events of the game. outside of chris and sam i feel like most of them were really just the friend group of the twins and josh just tagged along. he can struggle at times making friends and he leaned a lot on his sisters for emotional and social support so their friends ended up being his social group.

but i think he didn’t super like most of them, usually because they just didn’t have a lot in common or some part of their personality annoyed him. i think he wasn’t a fan of emily, mike or jess, thought ashley was kinda annoying sometimes and didn't actually get why chris likes her, matt he was neutral to cool with. then the prank happens and naturally he kinda wants them all dead.

it’s a only really after/during the game those opinions start to flip. he actually likes mike a lot after and gets what hannah saw in him finally, thinks jess is kinda sweet actually and emily is a bitch (affectionate now). matt is officially good in his books, and while ashley can still grind on him (they’re just both too anxious to be near each other sometimes) he get’s her better and is genuinely happy for her and chris. and ofc he simps chris and sam even harder after it all.

it’s just that for years he was struggling to even really function and human interaction is hard even when you’re not in the fucking pit. so he never actually got too close with everyone and just accepted the social circle that developed around him since it was better than nothing. but it also fueled his fears of isolation and rejection because outside of chris and later sam, they weren’t really his friends so what reason would they have to stick around. the fact that likely all stopped talking to him for the most part after the prank out of guilt just confirmed that.

getting back into RPF after a decade so I can spread a rumor that Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal had sex just ONE time after filming wrapped, which prompted Mescal’s total bisexual breakdown (which he is in the middle of right now and we shouldn’t worry about it in the meantime). only mean this semi-ironically, I have been having this discussion with multiple of my friends at this point.
