I think Sherb does a really good job of acting especially when it comes to their characters being absolutely smitten. Like, Cedar with Azalea, Helix and Evan, Ash and Marcel ESPECIALLY, Icarus on those rare occasions.

Because all female perspectives are the same limited perspective to them, but all male perspectives are unique and full of depth and different from one another, because those ones come from people and the other comes from Women™️.

They say this like male directors haven’t been forcing actresses into the same three portrayals since the beginning of television: (1) basic, good-looking love interest to the hero, (2) sexy temptress of some kind or another, and (3) nice older lady/motherly figure.

But yeah, female directors are the ones endangering actresses with repetitive portrayals.
