jack and ralph's arguments disintegrate back to arguing about their talents so often that-for a period of time- ralph was genuinely worried that he was tone deaf. he wouldn't sing in assembly because jack kept telling him he sucked

when roger first tries leaning into alternative fashion (goth, but this kid doesn't even know tbh) his eyeliner is SO bad. like sooo bad. panda rings around his eyes that were NOT intentional. jack genuinely loses it the first time he sees him.

jack and ralph share english lit together and get in trouble every lesson. it goes like: ralph offers a point----> jack says his point is better (its the same thing)-----> they argue-----> the teacher tells them both to stfu-----> they throw angry notes at each other-----> the teacher catches them and tells ralph to read them out-----> ralph refuses on the principle that jack's insults are horrible brainrot and also he cannot say 'kill yourself' in a classroom-----> the teacher reads them anyway-----> they both get detention

In year 7 piggy was the kid who had paninis lobbed at him. He's also the kid who opened the bottle of shook up fizzy drink in class (he did not realise it was shook up as he was too busy bickering with ralph.) he's basically the reason for the ban of drinking anything but water in lessons

during summer simon speedruns all of his classwork for the mere CHANCE that a schoolteacher will take pity and let the boys finish their lesson outside in the sunshine. it's like the one time of year when he's fully locked in. i kid you not this is how some of the boys even notice it's summer in the first place 💔💔💔
