Hero’s Shade, miserable death

The blue butterfly is a constant in my Oot work: it’s symbol for Zelda and Link’s bond. I headcanon that Zelda dies young, and Link watches over their descendants faithfully, but he’s also tortured knowing that more evil might come again.

That being said, I must ask that no one tags my work under another artists au. Please. It’s very violating to the central themes in my work, and very hurtful as an artist that has their own story to tell.

Okay I promise this isn’t aimed at Veilguard specifically (I think DAV avoids this issue in some areas more than others), but god it really does irritate me when a game or piece of media is overly careful to be inoffensive and safe. like you can be diverse and progressive and still challenge your audience, I promise.

I want bad things to happen. I want tension, I want messiness, I want character traits that are ugly. I want the heroes to have real flaws and if it takes place in a world where bad things are happening, I want to see and explore those bad things. I want gay characters to be able to get killed off. I want everyone to be in danger. I want games to tackle serious themes like sexual violence and suicide and child abuse. I want diverse villains, I want ignorant heroes, I want complexity and nuance and it’s so annoying to so often see progressiveness go hand-in-hand with unchallenging, because the creators are scared of fucking up something, pissing off the audience, and getting crazy backlash and/or death threats.

Nightmares — A Lionsword Fic

“No-!”

Azures eyes flew open the moment he heard it. He sat up in a panic, eyes darling around the dark room, trying to find the source of-

“Stop- please-!”

He looked to the side, and Azures heart lept in his throat at the sight of the writhing Jing. His hair was a scattered mess, and he was slowly getting tangled in azures big shirt and the blankets. But…

But he wasn’t being attacked. He was asleep.

“Kitten, kitten wake up-“ azure attempted to speak over Jing’s words, which were slowly getting louder. When that didn’t work, he shook him. That seemed to do the trick, as Jing sat upright with a desperate gasp. However, he didn’t seem to be fully awake, nor calm.

“No! Please- I-“

“Kitten,” azure gently placed a hand on Jing’s shoulder, but the smaller man just flung himself back, arms covering his face as if to shield-

Oh.

Oh.

So it was one of those night.

Instead of trying to invade his space anymore, Azure gently scooted back, allowing Jing to see his surroundings. He also turned on the lamp, allowing him to see Jing’s tear streaked face.

The sight of Jing’s trembling form was enough to make azure want to go back and slather the Jade emperor all over again. But he took a breath, and waited for Jing to calm. He had gotten quieter, thankfully, but he was still a crying mess. Azure hated it when Jing had nightmares, hated being unable to to much else other then let him be.

Jing didn’t respond well to outside influence, likely stemming from his centeries of isolation, so Azure had to give him space. To let him cry it out and calm himself down. Thankfully, it seemed to be working, and now Jing at least seemed to be aware.

Jing sniffled , his body shuddering with every breath as he looked at azure with wet eyes, as if just now realizing who he was.

“Ah-a-az-zz-zzy….”

“I’m here kitten.”

Jing slowly uncurled himself, and Azuew cautiously moved to sit next to him. A second later Jing crawled in Azures lap, hiding his face in azures chest fluff. Azure wrapped his arms tightly around him, rumbling a purr, and Jing fully leaned into it.

Nightmares were an unfortunate common occurrence for them. For all of them, really. But it never made it easier.

Azure never asked what they were about. And Jing never told. Perhaps it was from his countless battles, both mortal and celestial. Perhaps it was the loss of his son and later wife. Perhaps it was the experiences with the Jade Emperor. Wherever it was, azure didn’t know, and he didn’t need too.

Jing would pull away in a few minutes, and try to act like nothing was wrong. Azure would wipe his tears and tell him it was ok to cry. They would sleep, cuddling together with azure blocking out the world for Jing.

But for now, Azure would hold his love, and wait out the silent tears.

honestly, this has nothing to do with what i will usually post, but i wanted to say something. aaron taylor johnson was groomed. he was 18 when they first met, she was 42. twenty fucking four year age gap. now, im well aware that it is technically legal. but, eighteen still has the word “teen” in it. they’re still a teenager. vulnerable, young, and immature. your frontal lobe does not fully develop until 25.

age gap relationships are weird in my opinion, but that doesn’t mean they’re wrong. (most of them) however, in this case, he was 18. he was still incredibly vulnerable as a person and it’s just.. odd for a 42 year old to want to date a fucking 18 year old. is that not weird to you people? answer me this ; what do a 42 year old and 18 year old have in common? correct answer is NOTHING.

to aaron, i know he’ll never see this, but im just going to say it, i genuinely hope he gets out. i hope he seeks help, i hope he gets that help. he needs to get out. it might take a while, but i really hope he’ll get out.

The Marchives, OC/Art collection

Despite running a poll I decided to make an OC/Art blog here!

I'm currently uploading art as I can in my free time, I draw a lot of stuff in the same file so I had to go in and break up all the files and export the sketches and I didn't record their original dates, so everything is rough estimation. We're currently going through 2021 and 2022, the meatiest section of sketches before my wrists got really bad.

Eventually I will be creating about pages for each oc you find here and their backstory as well as how and why they were created if applicable. Half of these ocs are also my wife's characters, which I hope to also give space to breathe and exist here.

i hate looking on old posts sometimes because then i stumble upon posts with me talking to (now former) friends and now my mind is obligating me to go through my entire blog and delete every post with any bit of interaction with those former friends to forget we ever were friends in the first place.

after all this time, its like i hardly know them anymore. they (probably) knew about a lot of my weaknesses from looking at my posts, and thinking about it now, i feel unsafe. i know they mean no harm, i know they dont fully dislike me (well actually i think one of them does but i'll never know for sure), but with these constant guilt tripping asks in my inbox, i have my doubts. its probably not them though. i would have known from the typing tone.

somebody please help me. i want to forget, i want to leave it all behind and move on, but my brain wont let me.
