me (guy who hasn't been to a public health class in 1.5 months) writing a story set in the future:
"so then the characters get on their bikes and ride to the farmers market to pick up some legumes, bread, and some pasture raised chicken and then they go to their affordable 800 square foot passive house and pick vegetables from their home garden which is full of pollinator-friendly and drought-hardy edible perennials. they also take some eggs from their neighbors' backyard chickens, and give their neighbors some clothes their children grew out of as a trade. later they go to the universally inclusive park which is also outfitted with beautiful bioswales and community gardens."
"they go on a road trip with a rented electric vehicle charged by an electric grid powered by solar energy which is supplemented at night and during high-use times by pumped storage hydropower and nuclear fusion reactors. while they are driving, they see wind turbines with one blade painted to protect birds and sheep grazing on agrovoltaic pastures. on the trip, they call their friends on their de-googled, privacy friendly phones. the phones have e-ink or rlcd screens which improve eye-strain and reduce power consumption."
"after the trip they come home and come into the city where they use the robust public transportation system of electric trains and buses to get to the library and free public museum. the city has lots of trees and native plants that, and the roads and sidewalks are made of permeable pavers. this all helps reduce flooding and heat and every neighborhood in the city has this regardless of income level or ethnic makeup."
"the characters also note that most larger homes in the city are multi-family or multi-generational. then they go to the convenience store to refill their deodorant, shampoo, soap, conditioner, and other cleaning supplies, all of which are in reusable containers. the end."
