(I haven't written in a long time and I don't think I can write long pieces anymore, but I hope its enjoyable, at least! Always looking for feedback and I'll likely revise more before putting everything together!)
Art by the fantastic @teallinum!
Wandermere, Northern Elwynn - 10pm
Golden lights danced in the dimly lit room, small hung braziers glowing warmly against the sandy, gilded walls. The air smelled of jasmine and dragon’s blood and the smoke wafting from the censers intermingled with the hazy flow from the hookahs nestled around the room. In some aspects, one might see this as a gathering of powers across Azeroth.
Chieftain Thrall and his mate, Aggra, curled up together next to Lady Proudmoore and the Blue Aspect, Kalegos. Each one wore a specially tailored silk robe akin to the garb they normally donned. While the four kept in quiet conversation, smiles crossing their faces, there were more somber folks in attendance.
Monte Gazlowe, recently returned from the chaos of Undermine, talked only of business to his ruby-haired companion, the host of this particular little party. A woman with violet eyes, typically full of mirth, was melancholic as they toasted lost friends.
One guest, however, strayed away from the group, quietly nursing a hookah of his own in the back corner of the room. The formerly lost King of Stormwind laid back against the cool sheets of a plush bed, drawing in a deep pull before letting the smoke billow over his head. He seemed content, at least, if not a little lonely.
Perhaps that’s why she made the call.
Gazlowe’s business partner was more than such, and the half-elf couldn’t bear to see the king isolating himself even after reconnecting with his friends. Maybe it was the intimacy of the situation? A warm, cozy room, everyone draped in expensive robes and lounging about the various settings…It must seem quite foreign to him.
The woman excused herself for a moment, sending a servant for more tea and stepping out of the room to place a call over a communications device. It was only a few minutes before a portal opened nearby, and she was, truthfully, surprised he’d taken so long.
From the arcane glow stepped the Black Prince, dashing as always, though looking a bit caught off guard to those who knew him. She explained the situation, and he changed his attire in a puff of smoke to match the robes of the others in the room, though he’d held them shut with his hand rather than a tie, tucking his arm across his torso as the pair made their way into the room.
The quartet of leaders regarded him softly, with only Kalegos rising to meet him as they spoke in hushed voices. Even so, the Blue dragon could see his young friend’s gaze catching onto the reason he was there. As he returned to the group, Wrathion crossed the room, realizing he had no idea what to say to his long lost friend.
Anduin hadn’t seemed to notice, or was too lost in thought to pay a newcomer any mind. Which suited the Black dragon just fine. It was easier to fall into conversation when he caught the other unaware.
Only when the hookah pipe was taken from his hand and the weight on the bed shifted did the king open his eyes. And from the looks of them, Wrathion had been the last person he’d expected to see.
The younger man couldn’t help the coy smirk which curled itself into his lips, gazing down at the shocked blond with a playfully fond look. It was a moment before either of them spoke, the dragon’s fiery eyes taking in the other man’s rough appearance. Blue eyes, conversely, seemed to be calculating whether or not he was real.
Warm, tender notes passed between them as the darker man finally spoke.
“It’s been too long…old friend.”

"For he and his knights still held themselves like lords in whom the race of Númenor ran true. Men that saw them whispered saying: ‘Belike the old tales speak well; there is Elvish blood in the veins of that folk, for the people of Nimrodel dwelt in that land once long ago.’ And then one would sing amid the gloom some staves of the Lay of Nimrodel, or other songs of the Vale of Anduin out of vanished years." - J.R.R. I like that you can ask Dezco why don't we just murder the Prince of Stormwind as if you didn't unquestioningly catch venemous eels with your bare hands because Anduin politely asked you to that same expansion.

i feel like you could say something about the parallels between dagran ii and anduin, especially in how their parents have impacted them
like anduin is anduin. lost his mom young, basically lost his dad multiple times. he's always been The HeirTM. he's supposed to toughen up. varian is a warrior king. he is supposed to fight. he runs off to find knowledge and peace during MOP and feels guilty about it later. he wasn't really allowed to explore his interests, not as much as he might want to.
and then you see dagran ii. son of a warrior king. dad dead before he was born, its just been him and his mom. moira has been off waging political war for his birthright for forever. dagran is supposed to become king of the dark iron clan, maybe even all of ironforge. he's The HeirTM, the child of a strongwilled personality who he is supposed to follow.
but all of moira's dialogue in TWW is positive about dagran. she never speaks ill of his interests, or of his potential. the worst she says is that he gets too focused on things, and that's fair when dagran is wandering into trouble for knowledge. he's the opposite of dagran i. he's not the warrior prince people were expecting. and moira is chill with that. granted, this may be impacted by how moira's become more of a diplomat in recent years but even then dagran has different interests than moira. but she isn't hard on him.
and idk. i've seen some people talk about how dagran ii is very anduin before the horrors, and i feel like it is because he was allowed to be. he doesn't seem to have the inner turmoil about identity that anduin has because he was supported by moira.
idk. parallels between the princes.

Can you do a Faramir fic? Nothing in particular I just love a man that’s obsessed with their partner!
Hello love!! Thank you for a request sweetie! Awwww Faramir :0 I think he's so so underrated! Let's give this man a fic of his own ^^ El <3
Prince Faramir- his darling
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

GN reader
<3 (SFW)
TW- none
Headcanons for Prince Faramir and his beloved one ;3
(a bit shorter since I'm writing another fic TwT)
Prince Faramir
When Faramir looked at you, it was as if the world around him melted away. His deep eyes sparkled with devotion, as if every glance was a silent confession of his feelings. You felt seen, really seen, not just as his beloved but as your true self.
"I see you, darling. You are seen."
When he beheld you in the starlight, it wasn’t merely appreciation; it was reverence. He carried a quiet determination to cherish every flaw, every misstep, and every laugh that escaped your lips.
One day, while wandering through the gardens of Gondor, you discovered a beautifully folded piece of parchment hidden among the blossoms. Opening it, you found a list of all the little things Faramir adored about you: the way your eyes crinkled when you laughed, the passion in your voice when you spoke of the things you loved, and even that amusing way you always mispronounced certain words.
"My dear, my princess/prince.."
Each scribbled line felt like a warm embrace, a token of his affection that made your heart fl
Faramir often valued the silence you shared. Whether gazing over the Anduin River, wrapped in warm blankets, or simply watching the stars drift across the sky, he found solace in your presence. In those serene quietudes, he felt connected to you on a level deeper than words could express.
"Shhhh shh I'm here."
He craved these moments, where even the softest whispers of wind felt full of meaning. It was then that his insecurity would peek through, for he feared he wasn’t worthy of such happiness. Yet, there you were, grounding him with your hand intertwined with his, offering a love untainted by doubt.
On a particularly enchanting evening, Faramir initiated a dance. Under the silvery gaze of the moon, he took your hand and pulled you close, guiding you through a gentle sway. Their movements were unpracticed yet full of grace, his sharp military precision softening into something romantic and tender just for you. The world around faded into a gentle blur, and all that existed was this one sweet moment.
"You are really good at this, darling."
The bravery that marks Faramir’s character in battle runs parallel to his fierce devotion to you. When the shadows encroached upon Gondor, he fought not just for the land but to preserve a future where he could spend every day with you.
"I promise, in front of Gods, old and new, that I will protect you!"
Finally, nestled in bed after a long day, Faramir often spoke about his dreams for the future. He’d share visions of a life together, filled with quiet afternoons spent in gardens, laughter echoing through the corridors of a home, and evenings spent by a fire wrapped in warmth.
His dreams revealed more than ambition; they expressed his love woven into every detail. It was in those visions that his insecurities shimmered once more. Would he be enough? But your responses never failed to reassure him, and together you built a tapestry of a fulfilled future.
Pheww another one down! Also, I really love this one (biased with Faramir TwT, he's not so "Far-amir" from my heart)
Anyways, hope you liked it. Feel free to request anything! Requests are open <3

Some Celeborn/Galadriel Headcanons
Wrote these as part of the 30-Character Study I'm doing for the @silmarillionwritersguild Jubilee Challenge on my Dreamwidth
Celeborn's Early Life and His Courtship of Artanis
Celeborn, second son of Galadhon, was born on the Great Journey by the mouths of the Anduin near Greenwood (then a much larger forest).
His mother was among those who forsook the journey with Lenwë before the crossing of the Misty Mountains. Celeborn followed his father and brother Galathil onwards, being kin of Elwë, but he never forgot the place of his birth where his family was divided. Regretting somewhat his choice, there was no question for Celeborn that he would remain in Beleriand after Elwë went missing.
Celeborn’s father Prince Galadhon was Thingol’s chief counsellor. While his elder brother Galathil took to a private, woodland life after the First Battle with his wife and their daughter Nimloth, Celeborn followed in his father’s footsteps, gaining much respect and influence in the court of Doriath.
He was sensitive to the needs and thoughts of others and had a gentle manner that put people at ease. For this reason, he often acted as an intermediary between Thingol and the Sindar outside Doriath who still called him King. Celeborn was highly respected among the Sindar, even those who dwelt in the north and did not acknowledge Thingol’s overlordship.
He enjoyed spending time with his brother’s family and being an uncle to Nimloth (and she loved him dearly), but Celeborn had no strong desire to marry or start a family of his own. While he had a few lovers over the years, he was very private about his romantic life and never led his lovers to believe he was interested in marriage.
With his approachable yet regal manner, grace, and handsome appearance, there was no shortage of people in Doriath and beyond its borders interested in marrying him. But he politely declined all such advances.
This all changed when he went with Angrod, who had just visited Doriath for the first time, back to Lake Mithrim as an emissary of Doriath. There he set eyes on Artanis for the first time and was struck dumb by her formidable intelligence and beauty. Literally, he did not say a word to her the whole time he was there. (He did manage to learn some things about her from Angrod, who promptly broke his confidence and told Artanis about the massive crush the Prince of Doriath had on her; but Artanis’ heart at that time was still heavy with grief and her thoughts could not have been further from matters of romance and she didn’t give Celeborn a second thought.)
When, some years (decades) later, Celeborn heard that Artanis would be visiting Menegroth, he got his act together. He would at least talk to her this time.
And he did! They had an enchanting couple of walks through the halls of Menegroth and in the surrounding forest, connecting over all sorts of matters of philosophy and politics, and found they shared the same witty sense of humour.
But it was not to last…. For almost as soon as she’d arrived in Doriath, Artanis made a connection with Queen Melian, spending all her time walking in the forests or locked away in a distant chamber of Menegroth, studying some secret arts. Soon, it was an open secret that the sister of Finrod had become the Queen’s lover. Well, Celeborn couldn’t compete with Melian.
When Artanis decided to dwell in Doriath for a time, Celeborn’s hope was renewed. Eventually, she stopped spending every waking moment with Melian. Celeborn would run into her in Menegroth’s library or in the gardens now and then, and they would talk for long hours and a friendship blossomed.
When the truth about the kinslaying at Alqualondë came out, Artanis became quite isolated for a time. There were those in Menegroth who did not conceal their distrust of her and hatred of her kin, even if she remained in the good graces of Melian and Thingol. Celeborn often visited her during this time and was a great source of comfort.
One day, Artanis confided to Celeborn that she had ended her physical relationship with the Queen. (At which Celeborn was astonished: she had ended it?) She had realised desire was interfering with her ability to enjoy the deeper emotional and intellectual aspects of the relationship. But she needed to take some time away from Menegroth to move on… so she was going to stay with her brother in the newly-completed Nargothrond for a time.
So Celeborn was once again left longing for Artanis’ affection, having made no progress towards confessing this longing to her — even though it was plain to most of Menegroth by then that he was smitten. They kept up correspondence by letters in the time she was away.
To Celeborn’s great relief, Artanis returned to dwell in Doriath after only a few years. Celeborn was terribly nervous about confessing his feelings for her, especially since he had grown to cherish their friendship and did not wish to lose it. But he would be a poor friend to continue to keep the truth from her: that he loved her.
So, not long after she’d returned to Menegroth, he invited her to walk to the top of the hill under which the city’s caves were delved. The trees were thinner there and the stars could be clearly seen. He asked her about her time in Nargothrond, and Artanis shared with him how she’d found it odd to be among the Noldor again; she no longer felt she belonged among them, but less did she feel that she belonged among the Sindar, even though Doriath felt more like home to her than any other place she had lived.
Now, Celeborn had only intended to confide his feelings to Artanis that night, but hearing this he was possessed with boldness and eagerness and told Artanis that, while she was already welcome among the Sindar, if she really wanted to feel she belonged she could marry him.
Artanis laughed at this. And laughed, and laughed, while Celeborn blustered through dozens of apologies. But it was not malicious laughter. When she finally collected herself, Artanis simply took his hands in hers and said, “I thought you’d never ask.”
[Things that are actually canon here: the Teleri pausing their journey near Greenwood; Lenwe forsaking the March; Celeborn's kinship with Elwe and his familial relationships; Angrod being the first of the Exiles to come to Doriath; Galadriel staying in Doriath for love of Melian (though Christopher altered the text for the published Silm to say she stayed for Celeborn); Galadriel dwelling for a time in Nargothrond.]

How to engage and walk up to rpers
Pros and tips
• Have a reason
Make a hook/reason for your character to interact with others. Do they need a magical item appraised? Seek out mages or magic users. Noticed they’re of the same nation or faction? Channel that sense of unity and community. Seeking healing for an aliment? Find a priest, druid, evoker, monk, paladin or shaman that can aid you. Looking to rob someone? Find a weaker character and single them out. Searching for a lost relatives? Ask the locals if anyone has seen them.
These can all be as long term or short term as you’d like.
Strongly encourage reading others’ hooks to see if any stand out to you.
• Put your desired themes in your trp and read others
Stating your themes helps you attract that crowd as well as state exactly what you’re looking for. You can branch out into other themes obviously, but a general idea of main themes helps people know what to expect or avoid. Some people may not like noble rp or dark rp and that’s okay.
• Ask questions
Inquire about people’s characters from a in character perspective. People love being given a chance to gush about their characters. It also gives you a better feel for what character and personality they’re trying to write.
• Don’t be afraid of unplanned or planned rp
People have their reasons for not liking one another, but stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to some cool stories. Both have their pros and cons.
• For flirty characters
There’s a line of flirty and sexual harassment. Some of you don’t know the difference. Groping or ass slapping? Assault. Making acomment on sexual features? Creepy. Making a clever joke, saying a romantic line or pick up? Flirting.
Try to be aware of how people are feeling. Remember that boundaries and expectations vary from every rper. If you’re uncertain about something, whisper them. Communication is half the battle.
• For mean or aggressive characters
You can play a mean and aggressive character that is easy to write with, but no one wants to be your rp verbal punching bag. Be witty and clever with insults, get creative. Do not randomly walk up to people and start insulting them or berating them. Remember that mean people still have other ranges of emotions other than asshole. They can have triggers, soft spots and other interactions asides from hostility.
A cool concept or angle would be writing a mean or aggressive person who is actively trying to change their ways. Whether they fail or not is up to you.
• For characters with high ranks positions or lots of power (whether magical, physical, political, etc)
No one likes someone flaunting around their rp titles while expecting everyone to rp their way. Irl or even in the games lore do you see Ashbringer constantly lord over others about it, or Anduin reminding everyone in the room that he is the prince and very important.
People in power never have to speak on their power.
Show your character’s power in subtle ways. Is it the armor or dresses they wear? Maybe a noblewoman is always preened or encased in jewelry. A powerful Paladin who’s seen many battles can have opulent armor and be decorated in medals.
Another way you can express power is the gap between powers. If you’re rich, you may not think about the poor or “smaller” issues in the world. If you’re powerful, you may have experienced within wars or physical effects from your growth (dark veins for dark magic, stretch marks and scars on rippling muscle, an aura specific to your magic type).
Show don’t tell.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Everyone has a specific rp style and no one rper is the same. These are just general tips to help people who may be struggling or wondering why they aren’t getting walk ups, not a set of rules.

headcanon . In the quiet years following the War of the Ring, Faramir, newly made Prince of Ithilien, bore not only the physical scars of battle but the unspoken weight of survival. Of all the wounds he carried, none ached so persistently as the memory of the doomed charge to retake Osgiliath – not the searing agony of his fever, nor the phantom burn of the Nazgûl’s black breath, but the guilt. The guilt endured.
It was a suicide mission, and they all knew it. His men had not flinched. They had followed him into failure without protest, though the ruined city was already half-swallowed by the tide of Mordor. They were sons of Gondor and he their captain.
He alone returned, broken and barely breathing.
Even as Faramir lay insensible in the Houses of Healing, pain-bent and delirious, the images came to him – half-dream, half-memory. The sky over Minas Tirith blotted out by crows and then the corpses. Heads of the fallen, flung like foul offerings over the walls, as though Sauron’s cruelty could reach beyond death. Faramir did not see it with waking eyes, but in dreams he watched their faces, bloodied and silent, fall from the heavens like rain.
When he recovered, there were no condemnations. No whispers of cowardice. No reproach in the eyes of those who had waited behind. Even Denethor was beyond judgement now. Yet, Faramir could not easily forgive himself for living when they had died.
He remembered their names. He recalled the rough edge of their laughter, the way they held their swords, the letters and tokens they tucked in their belts before riding out. Gondor would remember them as heroes, but Faramir remembered them as men.
In the years that followed, he travelled quietly and without retinue, to the homes of the fallen. He sat with their widows, their fathers, their children. He did not come as a prince, or even a captain. He came as a mourner, bringing with him stories – small, human things. Some families embraced him, others could not bear his presence. Faramir accepted both.
In his private hours, he planted a grove of white birches along the Anduin, where the river curled near Osgiliath’s ruined bones. There, he walked often, alone or with Éowyn, reading aloud the names of the fallen as he passed each tree. Logic told him he was lucky, that they would not begrudge him, that sometimes soldiers die and captains survive, but logic had no place in grief.
Faramir lived not because he was stronger or braver, but because fate chose to let him. In living, he would remember, and through remembrance, he would make peace.
#the ' release the prisoners ' scene was so distressing#pure psychological warfare#⪼ headcanon — still waters run deep

Celeborn was one of the noblest of the Sindar— who wedded the Lady Galadriel of the House of Finarfin and with her, he remained in Middle-earth after the end of the First Age.

Celeborn was a Sindarin prince of Doriath, being the grandson of Elmo the brother of Thingol; thus, he was the grand-nephew of the King of Doriath.
In the early First Age, Finrod and Galadriel came to Doriath as guests of Thingol. There, Celeborn and Galadriel met, fell in love, and were soon wedded. Galadriel remained in Doriath with Celeborn after Finrod went to the Caverns of Narog to establish the stronghold of Nargothrond.
For the rest of the First Age, Celeborn and Galadriel are not mentioned to have played any significant role in the general course of events of the Age, while their relatives, both Sindar and Noldor, did. By the Fall of Nargothrond in F.A. 495, Galadriel passed over the Blue Mountains so it seems likely that Celeborn followed her although this is not known for certain.

After the fall of Beleriand, Celeborn and Galadriel lived in Lindon for some time. Celeborn ruled the fief of Harlindon, which was composed mostly of Sindar, under High King Gil-galad.
Galadriel and Celeborn crossed into Eriador with many Noldor, Sindar, and Green-elves in their following. For a while, they dwelt in the country about Lake Nenuial, ruling the Eldar in Eriador, including the wandering companies of the native Nandor. Probably around S.A. 300, a daughter was born to Galadriel and Celeborn, named Celebrían.They departed for Eregion and arrived there by S.A. 750.It was ruled by Celebrimbor, grandson of Fëanor and the distant half-cousin of Galadriel.
It was only sometime between S.A. 1350 and 1400 that Galadriel crossed the Hithaeglir through Khazad-dûm and relocated there with their daughter Celebrían, becoming great among the Wood-elves.Celeborn decided to stay in Eregion due to his enmity towards the Dwarves. It is said that Celeborn fought in the Sack of Eregion leading the remnants of Eregion out of the battle. He and Elrond narrowly escaped to a dell, where the latter founded Rivendell.
After the War of the Elves and Sauron, Galadriel passed again through Moria with Celebrían and came to Imladris, seeking Celeborn.[8] There she found him, and there they dwelt together for a long time. Some time later, Galadriel and Celeborn departed from Imladris and went to the little-inhabited lands between the mouth of the Gwathló and Ethir Anduin. There they dwelt in Belfalas, at the place that was afterwards called Dol Amroth; and their company was swelled by Silvan Elves from Lórinand.

After long journeys in Rhovanion, from Gondor and the borders of Mordor to Thranduil in the north, Celeborn and Galadriel passed over the mountains to Imladris, and there dwelt for many years. It was there, in T.A. 109 that his daughter Celebrían wedded Elrond Half-elven of Rivendell.
When Amroth, the King of Lórien, perished in T.A. 1981, Celeborn and Galadriel took up the rule of Lindórinand jointly, and were called the Lord and Lady of Lothlórien, the new name for Lindórinand, and together, they built Caras Galadhon.
During the War of the Ring in T.A. 3019, Lothlórien received the Fellowship of the Ring, composed of various travellers on the quest to destroy the One Ring. Celeborn and Galadriel offered advice and boats for the Anduin, sending them on their way. After the Galadhrim repelled the forces of Dol Guldur three times, Celeborn led the forces of the Galadhrim across the Anduin and took the fortress. Galadriel threw down its walls and purified the forest.
On 6 April, that was the Elven day of New Year, Thranduil met with Celeborn in the midst of Mirkwood and renamed it Eryn Lasgalen, "The Wood of the Green Leaves". With the forest now cleansed, it was divided among the Elves and Men; Celeborn took all the forest south of the Narrows and established East Lórien.
Celeborn attended the wedding of Aragorn II Elessar and his granddaughter Arwen, and on the journey to return, he bade a fond farewell to Treebeard as well. He and Galadriel escorted Gandalf and the Hobbits until the Mountains of Moria, and on 13 September they turned to return to Lothlórien.

After Galadriel's departure, it is believed that Celeborn relocated to Rivendell to reside with Elladan, Elrohir, and some of the Noldor, having also grown weary of East Lórien.
At some unknown date, he sought the Grey Havens and sailed west aboard Last Ship with his mighty kinsman Cirdan the Shipwright, but when he did so, he took with him the last memory of the Elder Days in Middle-earth.
