I am not always convinced that marrying him is a happy ending#I readily admit that Heyer is one of those Faves of whom we hear who is in fact Problematic#and indeed she can fail to convince me that her couples are actually good for each other. I enjoy the comedy in the romantic comedy more#BUT. This particular claim was just simply not the case! objectively false#and I'm breaking my rule of not thinking about it because I'm reading The Foundling#poor Gilly is not a rake. he's not even a trowel#it is very much the plot of the novel that he's literally never done anything wrong ever in his life#bless his little cotton socks <3
