Addiction talk

Sooo I've never considered myself an alcoholic bc I didn't drink that often. But when I think about it, I kinda did lol. As a young teenager I drank (to the point of blackout) every weekend, usually twice. When I got older, say from I was 16, I had periods of only drinking once or twice a week to drinking 5-7 days a week. That basically lasted until I was 23. I still often blacked out. I never drank responsibly. Once I had the first sip, I kept going until I couldn't anymore. Didn't stop when I puked. Actually even puked on purpose so I could keep going.

At 23 I stopped drinking bc I did realize it was a problem.. 23 - 27 (when I got preg) I only drank once or twice a year, bc i had decided to be sober but I failed as soon as I went to a party. Always blacked out.

Then I realized my baby daddy was an alcoholic and that disgusted me. I decided to never drink again. And I haven't and still don't plan to. I've actually been pretty open about being sober now.

But my baby daddy also didn't drink every day all the time yk. He was sober for a few months and then went off and relapsed and in those periods he did drink every day.

Anyways,

A part of me starting to consider myself an alcoholic bc once it's near me, I have no control. I always used it to suppress parts of myself, to shut down thoughts and so I'd just be "the fun crazy girl who simply didn't care"

But part of me feels like I'm overreacting? But that might actually be the addiction talking? Idkkkk man

It doesn't really matter bc I've decided to be sober and stop the bullshit. But yea. My silly little autistic brain likes labels lol
