i've spent the weekend in bed becuase i'm sick again! i binged s2 of the summer i turned pretty and i cried a whole bunch. i love how they really took the angsty route this season--really showed how diff people deal with grief! probs gonna call out tomorrow because i've been sneezing like crazy and my voice is lowkey gone ;; i think i'm gonna try to get some writing done and post a teaser for a story that may never be completed but it's too good to just stay in my drafts!!

oh sure, i have my masters in education. i went thru a one year ma program with a teacher's cred tied into it too. my program was unique in that they condensed a two year prog into one accelerated and it was the toughest year of my life tbh. working full time as a teacher and going to school full time for basically two degrees was tough.

i love all my ideas but i haven't been able to finish them!!! i really want to get them out to the world bc theyre too good to sit in my drafts but it's so incomplete!! the one i am thinking about posting can be a standalone because its such an open-ended ending but there's still WAY more planned for it.

if you have time, playing games together online is a good way to keep in contact. we played pictionary on a website and it was super fun during the pandemic a lot!

it looks like youre slowly getting your ducks in a row for the internship despite the stress! but i see how missing your so and friends can affect your mood. feeling alone is never the best feeling and i totally see where you are coming from. but look at you, you're already looking at the positives out of your stressful situation! that's so great! you can only go up from here, you know? and listen, this is something i always tell my students, each person has their own timeline--their own time to make mistakes, to figure out what they want or need, etc. you may take longer than others but you don't need to worry about others. worry about you and focus on the things you can do for yourself to make you better. and if you make a mistake, that's just a lesson you can take. it's all about your growth mindset!

I feel like that twitter is...well, what it described are kind of the facts of tbb (being character driven, racing treasure hunting, little known of palp's project, cw sequel but not quite, etc.), but *i think* those facts are fine with me and I still love the show for its character development, family vibe and non-tbb member comeback.

that (the tweet) is prob how some would see tbb bc i've seem ppl saying the show isn't great, and tbh I can't argue with them bc if that's what they see in the show I can't change their opinion (disney had been oscillating from epic to meh can't blame them)

one thing the tweet got right is that we'd all like to see the problems addressed later on in S3

I prefer the star wars fanbase (as a whole) when ppl are not biting each other's heads off, just saying

we can dislike a show's direction and disagree with people's takes on those shows without misusing and devaluing important terms like ablism and fascism. tbb is obviously going to revolve around tbb, echo is objectively a cyborg, crosshair isn't a fascist. it's not cute, productive or useful to dogpile a single person for being wrong. it's ego-fueled, toxic nonsense.

i hate a lazy take as much as the next guy, but unapologetically piling on to a single person when, in many cases, they have a fraction of the following you & your buddies have is bad and makes this fandom worse. it also accomplishes nothing? these sort of bad faith & mean spirited interactions really only ever make people double down. you can have all the media literacy in the world, but if you don't use that knowledge to combat media illiteracy, it doesn't actually mean anything!

Current state of the shawl! I know the photo is at a bit of an odd angle, but the shawl is knit on the bias, and will essentially form a long parallelogram. You can see, somewhat anyhow, the open areas that the yarn-overs create in the pattern. I'm pretty happy with the colors so far and the way things are working up. It looks stripier here than I feel like it does in person (other than that transition from the green mini-skein into the knitpicks muse speckled yarn). I'm close ( knock on wood - i swear i am never so superstitious as hen I'm knitting and scared of errors or crises) to finishing this skein of Muse, and will be going on to the first skein of Wildflower Yarn's Unicorn Poop (:DDDDD - the name gets me very time, smile inducing)

I feel like I am the slowest knitter ever, and I am going to be making this thing til idk armageddon, the universe dies its cold death, or I can find a pair of shoes that makes my feet look cute (the first two are more likely - TRUST.) . However, the fabric is soft and so *bouncy*; it is eminently squishable! This color palette too just is a joy to look at. It's a lucky charms marshmallow of a thing, a my little pony pastel princess of a shawl. So, if i can manage to finish it before the end of forever (without any disasters- told you, superstitious when knitting... (¬_¬)' ) I think I just might love curling up in this thing.

So I’m thinking abt watching the new td season. I’m prob gonna split it into chunks bc it’ll be my reactions to all the episodes plus pre & post thoughts of the season, so if you wanna know my thoughts, just go to the 'total drama revival episode rambles' tag

Firstly, let’s start off with some pre-watching thoughts. These are just bullet points based on the trailers and promo pics I’ve seen. (I’ve only seen part of one trailer—I forgot which one—and some of the promo pics.)

I know most of the major details of the season bc of spoilers but I’ll try to pretend like I don’t lmao though there might be some occasions when I reference smth—I’ll put those in brackets ( [ ] ).

Now onto my thoughts!!

PRE-WATCHING THE TD SEASON:

PRIYAAA!!! [ A lot of ppl on here initially brushed her off as the Nice Girl, but I was with her from the frigging start and wanted her to go far in the season! ] As a desi female, I was so so happy to see desi rep AND her name is Priya!! It’s so pretty and ties into cultural heritage, and fgdgdgdgd I’d already hc her as bi fyi (yeah it could be me projecting on her, that’s okay. That’s f i n e. She seems like such a bisexual though)

Axel should be a lesbian. It’s what she deserves

Tbh I never rlly vibed with Ripper. Sure he seemed cool and ppl kept calling him the ‘nowen child’ but he’s pretty meh to me

I didn’t rlly try to guess who the gay couple would be ngl. But I lowkey wanted one half of it to be Chase bc it would’ve been so funny if the one person most ppl labeled as The Token Straight was n o t like imagine how many mouths that would’ve shut 😂

Sorry to butt in thought i’ll prob explaining abt the previous anons thoughts maybe :) true kit came to the US at the same time casting was announced & it could be a possibility bt the thing is there hasnt been any clue (other than wild fan theories) that kit would even be in the marvel universe, whats lowkey annoying was the moment joe was announced to be in this project a lot of fans immediately jumped on kit being hulkling which sorta undermines joes achievement :/ its already meh that kit has way more attention anyways so to make something that was for joe to be abt kit is tiring, talking abt how cool if he plays this character alongside joe & tho its cool to have them act alongside each other we just know what that would mean for joe as well, i think for once we jst want something for JOE simply (at the moment! since we have no news whatsoever abt kit in the mcu) & we’ll see joe and kit for 2 more seasons also! No offence to the others jst explaining the possible perspective the other anon might have :)

Yes, I actually thought about this yesterday. And I agree with what you said, it is sensible and valid. We should appreciate and celebrate the fact that Joe got cast in MCU. They have got the same fandom base which is one of the reasons why it makes this whole thing even more unfair, kit being hyped more than Joe who's actually going to be in the show. I can tell fans are excited that they could be together in a marvel show, but they shouldn't undermine Joe's achievements. I'm more mad at the response Joe got after the announcement from the people outside the HS fandom but I'm sure he's gonna prove them wrong with his talent and dedication. He's going to excel, can't wait for him to grow more as an actor and as a person, and watch him take over the world.
