NEW MODERN BREED ADDED

So I'm a little confused on its its a Limited breed or an Uncommon one, since the official announcement said Limited, but Undels correction said Uncommon. So I'm going with what Undel said and putting it at Uncommon.

I want to take a moment to defend Andrew Hussie’s BBCode translator he used in large to build and update MSPaintAdventures. You can read about its discovery here. I’m going to go call it “MSPA Updater” at the lack of an actual name.

MSPA Updater is functionally an unrefined form of static website generator such as Hugo and Jekyll, neither of which existed when Hussie had been creating Mspaintadventures. There would be multiple reasons he would not swap when these community developed applications started becoming popular:

Static Website Generators typically use Markdown instead of BBCode, and by default (e.g. without extensions used by github) its pretty damn basic in terms of formatting because Markdown is designed to be human readable. BBCode at least superficially resembles html so its significantly easier to translate back into html.

Andrew would likely need to write another program to translate all the BBCode posts into Markdown so that he can re-import them using another static website generator, since most of these will not work on a pre-existing website. This inserts a large amount of time/effort into a swap.

He would need to create a new template (the basic “framework” or appearance of the website) and recreate all the little helper functionality he had built-into like updating the adventure log, text search, and “recently updated” lists.

His entire workflow basically depended on this application, this sort of buy-in is very hard to leave. This is why application developers like Adobe can charge a premium for Photoshop and their other creative suite tools; creators have “bought into” the tools and leaving would make them significantly less productive for an unacceptably large amount of time, especially when they need it to earn a living.

I suspect MSPA Updater was created because Andrew Hussie originally hosted these adventures on a phpbb web forum and later moved them to mspaintadventures.com, and he probably wanted a way to move all this content at once, a phpbb web scraper/api client* that translates his content into html. This application made sense if you view it in that context, but why continue using it? He would either need to create a new tool to translate his text, find a tool that can work with his existing body of content, or do new pages by hand; continuing to use MSPA Updater since it "Just Works" seems like the logical conclusion here. * a web API client makes calls to the web server typically through the HTTP protocol (but not always) and receives back values from the server, typically in json or xml format. i’m not familiar with how robust phpbb’s api was when hussie initially built MSPA Updater, so he may have used a web scraper instead. A web scraper literally takes the raw page html and pulls what it needs from there, typically used when the API is limiting what you need to do or there is simply not publicly available API.

OK I think I got all the Genes I was missing - Leopard and Clouded were Added for Banescales, and the Brand new Sparkle was added for all Dragons.

I'm also going to add it to the Tumblr Page, so if you wanted to read the code feel free. For experience programmers, I am still a beginner myself so don't just too harshly lol. I am working on a FR Helper 2.0 so thats where I'm putting a majority of my effort now. But I will still update this one when I can.

Made an emergency update to Dragon Breed Card Generator. 

Updated it so it’s more compact than it’s previous update and allows for scrolling if the window or screen isn’t tall enough.  Sorry for any inconvenience this might have cause users.

Fixed Bug where Dragons with two digit ID would error out when looking for image.

So I'm still working on that new FR Helper and I've made a lot of cool additions. makes keeping track of my fodderlocke really easy, (tho I still use google docs to keep track of points and spending) But it makes the bbcode part easy by allowing copy and paste and dice rolling.

I'm still not sure if anyone is going to like the fact that you'll actually have to install it, and that it'll look for updates every time it launches (and so far every update I make upsets my anti-virus) but I'll keep updating the old one for the new breeds and genes, but I think unless I get special requests that old one is basically done.
