It's Wednesday my dudes! I have a lot of projects floating around so I wanted to consolidate most of them in one long post. Not included is my Evenstar (because I just posted a photo yesterday), and a couple experimental unfinished pieces I don't know if I will finish.

˖⁺‧₊˚✦ Doily 14 (Yarn | Pattern)
Chugging along with this guy. I'm on row 83 out of 111 and just about to hit the second colour change. At this point it's mainly stockinette so the rows are going pretty fast for how long they are.

˖⁺‧₊˚✦ Blanket 12 (Yarn)
Slow prog on this blanket since I only work on it when I'm in bed or on the couch. But since it won't be cold enough to need this until next year I'm quite fine with that. I also think it's probably too wide but I'm not redoing it.

˖⁺‧₊˚✦ ???Mystery Top??? (Yarn)
Started this on a whim to play with sweater construction and now I do like two rows every couple days. I do want to eventually finish it but it's quite boring. Maybe I'll add some plain stockinette rows in just to make faster.

˖⁺‧₊˚✦ Shawl 15 (various colourways of Knitpicks Hawthorn)
This shawl is Haunting me. It's so pretty but extremely boring to knit and extremely slow going. Plus it's taking up two sets of needles. But it's so prettttyyyy. Eventually I'll come up with a plan to finish it but until then it lives in shame.

˖⁺‧₊˚✦ Shawl 11 (Yarn 1 | Yarn 2 | Pattern)
The first of my two "doctor's appointment" projects. I haven't really been knitting too much in the waiting room because of how bad my back is so he's barely different looking. I've been tempted recently to frog this and restart with either a different pattern or just better brioche skills but I haven't been willing to pull the trigger on it yet.

˖⁺‧₊˚✦ Socks (Knitpicks Wool of the Andes Superwash in Marina and Cobblestone Heather)
The second "doctor's appointment" project. I had enough of this yarn for three pairs of socks but haven't hard the urge to knit any until now. Nice and simple toe up vanilla socks in worsted weight is very relaxing.

˖⁺‧₊˚✦ Blanket 11 (Yarn 1 | Yarn 2 | Pattern)
Not really that much prog on this, just been super into lace knitting rn. I think this'll be fun to work on outside when the weather is nice which will be Soon.
#knitting#knitblr#wip#lace rot#wip wednesday#procrastinated my pt to clean my desk and make this post. now i have no excuse :(#i have so many doilies in my future. I want to knit them So Bad.#project: doily 14#project: blanket 12#project: shawl 15#project: shawl 11

I finally published the project for my dice roll scarf that went viral last month. If you love dice games, you'll enjoy knitting this pattern.

The color work in this project is determined by an algorithm, a set of rules that determine the final outcome. There isn't an exact set of instructions for this project. Instead, the knitter uses four 10-sided dice or a random number generator to pick the length of the colorwork in each row.

The result is a staggered stripe sequence along the edge of the shawl. There are trillions of unique outcomes, so no two projects turn out exactly alike. The pattern uses about 500 yards of yarn in total, but the amount of each color that you'll need is randomly determined. Before publishing, I wanted to find out the minimum and maximum amount of each color required to make the project and the probability of each outcome.

The knowledge needed to calculate the yardage was a bit beyond my skill level, but my friend Mary W. Martin helped me gather this info. I used an online probability calculator to find out the probability of each unique stitch count. The results are slightly different depending on whether you use four 10-sided dice (blue) or pick a random number (yellow), but 99% of all possible results fall within a very small range.

It was an interesting little tangent, but not hugely important to the actual knitting pattern. I can, however, confidently say there is a >99.9% chance that you'll need a 2nd skein of the main color. If you want to know more about the math, you should check out my project notes on Ravelry.
The thick and thin striped colorwork is created with a super simple "long stitch" technique. The pattern looks great in fluffy mohair or contrasting colors of basic wool and the instructions include some basic tips for substituting yarns or changing the gauge.

Finished Size: 18 x 68” (46 x 172 cm) rectangular wrap.
Yarn: Approx. 315 yards (288 m) of MC and approx. 264 yards (241 m) of CC. Yardage may vary, see notes on yardage below and yardage chart in photos.
• Main Color (2 skeins) - JMR Studio Worsted Weight Mohair, 245 yards (225 m) per 4 oz; 78% Mohair, 13% Wool, 9% Nylon.
• Contrast Color (1 skein each, both yarns held together) - JMR Studio Fingering Weight Mohair, 320 yards (293 m) per 100g; 63% Silk, 23% Kid Mohair, 11% Nylon, 3% Polyester Held with Lavender Lune Yarn Co. Suri Alpaca, 328 yards (300 m) per 50g; 74% Suri Alpaca, 26% Silk.
Yardage: The amount of each color used for this pattern fluctuates based on the random numbers used to determine the stitch pattern. MC uses approx. 233 to 315 yards (213 to 288m) and CC uses approx. 182 to 264 yards (166 to 241m). 99% of possible results fall within a much smaller range. The Yardage Chart shows the distribution of all potential yardage outcomes.
Needles: Size 8 (5 mm) straight needles, or size needed to obtain gauge. NOTE: Straight needles work best with long stitches. Circular needles with a thin cord allow the long stitches to tighten and stretch, making them harder to manipulate.
Gauge: 12 sts x 14 rows = 4 x 4” (10 x 10 cm) square in pattern.
Other Materials: 10 sided die or random number generator, stitch marker, scale, tapestry needle.
Generating numbers: In my sample, I used four ten-sided dice (D10) to choose a number between 4 and 40 sts. If you don't have dice, you can use an online app like RANDOM.org to generate your numbers. If you follow this link, you'll get a list of 63 integers between 4 and 40. NOTE: Each time you visit the link or refresh the page, the list changes. You can also just choose numbers as you knit.
Pattern is available on my website and on Ravelry.

I've been in the Realm of Murk (tm) the past bit, so i haven't filled y'all in in the Prom Shawl Project.
On March 23, Kaboom asked if I could make her a shawl for prom, which is April 12.
I said yes, of course, because a) I'm basically never going to say no to her asking me to knit her something and b) I'm a sucker for right knitting deadlines and the adrenaline high thereof.
So we tried on various shawls I've made to talk about shape, size and weight, and decided to go with a Luminaria, which is a beautiful pattern I've knitted twice before.
Monday, all the local yarn stores were closed. Tuesday we drove to Memphis (for vacation). Wednesday we made it to a yarn store! Stitching Supply in Memphis had a great selection, were really friendly and also gave us BBQ recommendations. We got yarn, and I cast on.

Progress as of March 29, done with the stars chart, starting the blossom chart

Progress as of last night, first edging chart finished, only 11 rows left.

Engines howling like the damned, the ship trembles in the grip of the warp. Inside its war-hardened frame, the World Eaters keep to themselves, sharpening blades and tempering fury, but their master doesn’t rest. His Legion, blood-drenched and glory-hungry, doesn’t understand what he’s doing. They whisper behind vox-helms, uncertain why their master diverts their fury toward an obscure mining world. It isn't conquest. It isn’t retribution. It’s personal.
Standing alone in the strategium, Angron paces—each step loud, thunderous, uneven. Before him, the hololith loops over and over again, showing the red-ringed designation: Subject A-19234R. Designation: Concubine-class Asset. Location: Gheltor Secundus.
No name. No image. Just the designation. Just the echo of a life. The vitals hadn’t updated. The file hadn’t grown. Every moment that passed, she might be dying. His lips don’t form her name. They haven’t since the night they tore her from him—since he picked up her torn shawl with his blood-slicked fingers, when he broke in the sand of a dying camp. But he knows. The Butcher’s Nails scream. They always do. But for once, it is not only rage they feed. Beneath the boiling tide, another fire simmers. Older. Deeper. Hotter.
“Evara,” the word escapes, barely audible.
Khrivan, the tech-adept, watches from the perimeter. The last datafeed left nothing clear. No status. No exit log. Just a record expunged too neatly, scrubbed by someone with authority. Someone who thought Angron would never come looking. They were wrong. Khrivan tries again to speak—mentioning atmospheric density reports, obfuscated orbital traffic, the need for stealth.
Angron’s fist slams into a support strut, denting the adamantium. He turns toward the projection, eyes glowing like dying stars.
“I want Gheltor’s planetary logs cracked. Civilian manifests. Dockyard exports. Labor shifts. Even their sewage cycles, tear it apart. If a single scrap of her passed through that world, I’ll find it. They tried to bury her in silence.” He says.
Then, softer—dangerously calm. “They will tell me why.”
Khrivan nods quickly, fleeing to carry out the order.
Left alone once more, Angron approaches the hololith. With unexpected gentleness, he presses his armored hand to the flickering projection. For a moment, his shadow swallows it whole. He remembers her touch. Her breath against his shoulder. The way she had never flinched—not from his temper, not from the implants, not from the pain. In her presence, the monster had been just a man. She had seen what the Emperor hadn’t. There’s something else gnawing at him. Not the Nails. Not the fury. Fear. Not for himself, but that he might be too late. That whatever remained of that night, that woman, that hope, might already be ash.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The freighter lurches as it breaks the upper thermosphere. Evara braces herself on the crate wall, her breath ragged, sweat slicking her hairline. Every jolt of the vessel is a new assault on her exhausted body. Her body aches in places words don’t reach. But she’s off-world, she made it.
The cabin is dark, shielded against tracking arrays, reeking of rust, coolant, and fuel. The crew keeps their distance. They don’t ask her name. All they know is she paid in secrets, not thrones, and that someone wanted her caged badly enough to raise a planetary alert once she vanished.
Tucked in the inner lining of her coat, the shawl fragment still lives. Pressed sometimes to her lips. Other times, her belly. The child stirs inside her again. Too early for motion, the data she read had told her. Every shift, every flutter, feels like being punched from the inside. She exhales through her teeth and rubs her lower abdomen, whispering nonsense words of comfort, half to herself, half to the life she carries.
“We’re not safe yet.” She whispers it like a lullaby.
Across the bay, Larn watches her. He doesn’t ask questions. They struck a deal, favors for freedom. Still, something in his scarred face suggests he knows more than he admits. He’s seen desperation like hers before, but never quite like this.
“You’ll make it off,” he says quietly, more assurance than promise. “The crew doesn’t talk. They’re ghosts, same as you.”
She nods. Each breath burns. The stimulant is wearing off, leaving her shaking. There’s a sharp ache down her spine and a pressure beneath her ribs. She knows this pregnancy is not normal. She feels it in her bones. The child is growing too fast. Her body is breaking to house it. Still, she won’t stop. The freighter’s nav-officer, a woman with augmented eyes and a voice like gravel, ducks into the hold.
“Next stop is Shalritha, neutral space. Rotworld, mostly independent. Not safe, but unaligned still. You’ll disappear there, if you’re smart.”
Evara nods faintly.
As the woman leaves, Evara exhales and closes her eyes. The freighter shudders again, cutting into realspace. Somewhere out there, she knows, Angron is still alive. Something deep in her blood, whispers that he is coming. But she cannot rely on hope. She is alone and must ensure their child won’t be born in chains.
Tightening the coat around herself, leaning her head back against the vibrating wall.
“Just a little further,” she murmurs. “Just a little longer. I’ll keep you safe. Even if I have to crawl through the dark to do it.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The freighter shudders as it punches through the atmosphere of Shalritha, a world cloaked in volcanic ash and storm-born shadows. Evara clutches the edge of the cargo hold, the metal cold beneath her sweat-slicked hands. Her breath comes in short, ragged gasps. Each jolt of turbulence is agony, her spine aflame, her abdomen a storm of pressure and swelling pain.
Shalritha rises beneath them, a soot-swept ruin of steel canopies and slag towers veiled in permanent dusk. The entire planet groans under industrial overuse—a haven for exiles, dissidents, and traders who ask no questions.
Larn appears at her side, jaw tight. “We’ve only got minutes. The port logs are already flagged. You’ll disappear faster if we split now.”
Evara doesn’t respond at first. Her fingers drift to her coat, brushing the shawl fragment hidden in the inner lining. The warmth there feels almost imagined, almost memory. The pain in her belly spikes again—sharp, unnatural. She winces, a tremor of weakness nearly buckling her knees.
“I need a medicae,” she breathes, voice shaking. “One that doesn’t ask.”
“I know someone,” Larn says. “Midhive, sector six. Augmetic surgeon. Fallen off the books. Keeps old secrets for pay.”
“Then take me.”
Rain pours in streaks of acidic gray as they cross the cracked ferrocrete causeways, weaving through forgotten alleyways and vent-hung bridges slick with rust and dripping coolant. The sky above is a fractured dome of faint electric storms, painting everything in stark, stuttering light. Cloaked in a smuggler’s garb, staggers out onto a platform swamped in rain and soot. Shalritha smells of oil, old blood, and damp metal. She nearly collapses as her foot touches the cracked ferrocrete. Larn steadies her.
“We need to get you off the main port grid,” he says.
Evara leans heavily on Larn now, every step harder than the last. Her body has begun to rebel against her. Her temperature surges and drops. Her joints ache with pressure. Something is growing too quickly inside her, a life not quite like others. They descend through a hatch behind a collapsed transport hub, entering a maze of service tunnels nicknamed the “Undercrawl,” where Shalritha’s ghosts barter silence in blood. Larn knocks on a warped metal door carved with archaic symbols.
“Old friend,” he calls. “We’ve brought coin. And something rarer.”
With a hiss the door opens. Beyond it stands a woman with half a skull replaced by an augmetic frame, one eye a hollow lens, the other gleaming with sharp intelligence.
“She’s breaking,” Larn says simply, nodding toward Evara.
“Come,” the surgeon replies, voice distorted through a speaker embedded in her throat. “Before she tears apart.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Khrivan returns, this time pale, breathless, data-scrolls in hand.
“My lord,” he stammers. “We decrypted an outbound freighter manifest from Gheltor’s unregistered dockyards. One departure… matching an unsanctioned biometrics flag. Female. No name. Code-red exit protocol triggered post-launch. Destination: Shalritha.”
Angron's knuckles whiten as he grips the data-table. His teeth grind.
“Course change,” he growls. “We follow.”
The helmsman protests, only barely “Lord, Shalritha is under sigil-sanction by the Mechanicus. Navigating it—”
“We follow,” Angron repeats, voice like a landslide. The Nails shriek approval.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Laying still on a rusted medical slab, her eyes half-lidded. Cold light pools over her face as the surgeon’s drones buzz low, scanning her trembling form.
“You’re lucky you made it this far,” the woman murmurs, studying the readouts. “This isn’t a normal gestation.”
Evara says nothing.
“The fetus is accelerating cellular division. Hyper-dense muscle growth. Neural spikes off the chart. Your body’s fighting it, losing. But it’s alive. Strong. Whatever it is… it wants to live.”
Evara’s eyes blur with tears she doesn’t let fall.
“I want it to live,” she says. “Can you help me carry it to term?”
The surgeon doesn’t respond right away.
“Maybe. With augmentic support. Blood infusions. You’ll be half machine by the end.”
“Fine,” Evara says through clenched teeth. “Just… get me that far.”
“And then what?”
Evara’s voice lowers. Her hand finds the shawl fragment again, clutched like a vow.
“Then I disappear. With him.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the void’s hungry mouth, the Conqueror cleaves through reality like a spear. Its hull groans with the fury of chained gods. Angron stands in the forward observatory chamber, silent amid the data-streaming hololiths and burning incense of blood rites.
Tech-Adept Khrivan kneels beside the relay node, his hands trembling as a scrambled data feed begins to resolve. “Coordinates align. One freighter. Unflagged registry. Illegal flight path. Landed on Shalritha… forty-two hours ago.”
The hololith flickers. No names. No faces. But Angron sees the trail. He feels it, chest tightening at this. The Nails throb, but it isn’t rage that moves him now. It is something else—quieter, more dangerous. A certainty. She is there. Lifting the torn shawl from beneath his vambrace, pressed close to his skin for months now, forgotten by all but him. Its fibers are brittle, scorched with dried blood, but still red. Still hers.
“She didn’t vanish,” he mutters. “They took her. And she survived.”
The void responds with silence, broken only by the growl of engines and the hum of war.
“Deploy two gunships when we breach orbit,” he growls. “Sweep the hive. Civilian sectors first. No fire unless I command it.”
Khrivan’s eyes widen. “Lord… you mean to land?”
Angron turns, eyes glowing like a furnace behind his helm. “I mean to find her.”

Comfi Cardi update & completed project! Went on a bit of a journey with this one, which I'll explain under the cut XD Before I get into that I thought it would be fun to share Naturally Perfect Grace (formerly Camryn) alongside one of my favorite Rainbow High makeovers, since they share a very similar color palette (I used the same crochet thread for the edging on the cardi and the main body of Coco's skirt).

The fibers used for the cardi are Elite Shawl Glitz (discontinued) from Ice Yarns; and Lizbeth Size 10 crochet thread in 122-Caribbean.
So. I started off following the Comfi Cardi tutorial using the yarn weight and hook size indicated to make a garment for American Girl dolls. What quickly became apparent was that this piece was going to be MUCH too large for the doll I intended to wear it. Although Naturally Perfect and American Girl dolls are both 18 inches tall, their body types are quite different. I was aware of this, but as I do not own and have never handled an AG I had no clear idea of just how great the difference was until I began this project.

Nevertheless I continued to work my way through the various sections, both to familiarize myself with the process and to create a visual aid to refer to on my next attempt. I stopped just short of the finishing stages (sewing the sides and adding the ribbing) for easier reference, though I did work a row of the ribbing stitch on one of the cuffs and sew down the side to try it on the doll and make sure I understood the directions before pulling it out again (no reason to leave the yarn attached and trailing about).
The other reason for finishing the main work on this piece is simply that I hope sometime in the near future to acquire an appropriately sized doll to wear it! If not AG then Our Generation or similar. At that point I can circle back and complete it.

Once I had worked through the pattern-as-given I had the guidelines I needed to start over and create a piece custom fit to my doll. I switched from a light(3) to a fine(2) weight yarn, and went down to a B-2mm hook. Checking against the doll as I went I ended up reducing the main granny square from 11 rounds to 9, then adjusted the front panel and sleeve lengths accordingly.

For the cuffs and edging, instead of ribbing I opted for something more in line with my personal aesthetic, and chose a couple of simple lace stitches that would adapt easily to this scale and allow me to incorporate some beadwork and a button. These beads were leftover from jewelry I made in the late 90s and have been knocking around my stash ever since; it was particularly satisfying to almost use them up on a piece intended for my tiny doppelganger XD I'll probably incorporate the few that remain into one of her necklaces.

And that's it! I'm looking forward to doing this again for my other Naturally Perfect girl, after I complete her skirt. For simplicity's sake I'm going to repeat the same layout with different yarn/beads/thread. After that I might try scaling it down even further for my 14 inch dolls, but knowing my tendency to get distracted I don't want to plan too much in advance.
Big thanks again to @joshybearhuggies for sharing such a clear, well-paced, easy to follow tutorial! Over the past 15 or so years I've gathered my crochet techniques from books, written patterns, and stitch diagrams, but video instruction is an area I haven't ventured into much. This project was such pleasant experience I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for similar content in the future.

Project 11/? for 2023.
The Phoenix Protocol Shawl, or as my one fireteam member dubbed it, the Phoenix Proto-Shawl lol.
My beloved raiding fireteam in Destiny 2 completed our first week one raid with Root of Nightmares earlier this year, and we all got team jackets for it; when I saw this yarn that looks exactly like the shader my Guardian usually sports when donning the Phoenix Protocol, I knew I had to make a thematically appropriate accessory to go with it 💗✨
Pattern is the Pincha Shawl by Panpilan Wangsai.

14/11/2024 - Assemble Project
Since my progress review, my project has navigated in a different direction completely. My assemble project, as my tutors advised me, could be about costumes, Halloween, props, masks and festivities. I have taken on these themes in my project already, unbeknownst to myself, with my own Halloween costume being a main giveaway to this subliminal theme. I feel as though I will be able to have more primary sources and possibly more ideas by altering my main concept to this.
I have figured out that, in a way, anatomy still ties into this change of theme, as the body is still a huge part of the making of costumes and garments. The fit and overall finished look of a garment depends on the wearers anatomy and their body.
I really take inspiration from Tim Burton's style of character and costume design. It is whimsical, quirky, weird and absolutely beautiful in my opinion. I love his style. The body and the faces of characters are distorted in this style, with extreme contrasts from what would be considered normal.
Taking Pastor Galswells from The Corpse Bride as an example, he has a comically large hat, very incredibly pronounced chin and nose and a very exaggerated hunchback. He is ridiculously tall and stick thin, a body that is completely out of the norm for people to see.
The costume design is simple, a long scarf-like shawl, a tall cane, tall hat and floor-length robe.

Update (10/11/24)
What I'm Into Now
MCU (Wanda Maximoff, Agatha Harkness)
Knitting
Progress (Writing and Knitting)
Not much to report this week writing wise, but I am so close to finishing a shawl that I've been working on (pic below)
This was a feat because this shawl is so freaking big and I've been working on it for like three weeks. I'm a pretty slow knitter and I've completed well over a hundred rows (all with many, many stitches) in a relatively (for me) short time frame

For those curious, this is the Boneyard shawl by Stephen West (pattern free on Ravelry) in Wheel of Alpaca from Hobbii yarn (colorway: Film Noir)
Fic Recs
There we go! I'm thinking about also doing knitting updates along with my writing updates as I tend to just do one or the other throughout the week. As the holidays approach, and I've decided to make my gifts this year, I'm going to be doing a lot of knitting. I'll continue the fic recs, or alternate them out with silly YouTube videos that I've been enjoying, as I watch a lot of YouTube when I knit. Either way, the fic recs are staying.
Agatha All Along thoughts under the cut.
BRO THE SCREAM I SCRUMPT
Let's work backward, shall we?
First of all, we been knew that Teen was Billy, but being on the cusp of confirmation still feels unreal. The sudden change between sweet teenager and Wiccan still felt natural and deserved after he watched Agatha kill Alice but at the same time horrifying. I haven't watched anything else with Joe Locke in it, but I gotta say, the guy can act.
The way Billy knocked Agatha out of her trance with her son's name and the little boy's voice so sweetly saying "mama"... *chef's kiss* We are going to get some more Nicholas Scratch in the future and I am here, ready to twist it to suit my fanfic purposes.
I love the appearance of Agatha's mom and her belief that Agatha was born evil, as well as the idea that once Agatha "latches" onto another witch's magic, she loses control. That's such a cool concept, and I can't wait to see how it plays out.
Jen and Agatha definitely have beef that goes way back, and I really hope we get an explanation for it.
The reappearance of the Salem Seven! Their re-intro was so creepy and I loved it so much.
I am going to vibrate out of my skin! I cannot wait for next week!

365 DAYS OF TAROT LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOO
Happy New Year, comrades and welcome to Trin makes poor life choices! ✨🎃✨
So the thing is... fiber arts consumed me. Between the felting and the crochet, I have been creating at what is for me a breakneck pace - half a dozen sculptures, three separate painting series totaling about 20 paintings, three shawls, a handful of hats, dishcloths, and scarves, and a partridge in a pear tree. I averaged a completed project every two weeks all in the three years since I've been doing this, while struggling with a major health diagnosis and a move across the country. So let's ramp it up to 11 shall we 😈
Number of Days in a Year: 365
Number of Cards in a Tarot Deck: 78
Days to work per Tarot Card: 4.6
That's almost 2 cards a week. That's... probably unreasonably fast. If my partner were home to curb my enthusiasm before I scheduled this, they would probably say something along the lines of, "maybe for the sake of my mental health if not yours, please don't"
Okay look. A deck in a year is the dream. But it probably won't happen that way. We'll shoot for the stars and maybe I'll be too busy to think about the ten thousand ideas clawing for attention in my wooly teddy bear brain. Oh and before I get out of here and bleed my hands on this really smart idea of mine, please support my art endeavors.
#artists on tumblr#365 days of tarot#original#fiber art#needle felting#tarot#environmentalism#happy samhain#actually I had intended for this to go out last year#Then the aforementioned move happened#my partner does know about this project#and enthusiastically encouraged me to do it this year#also please tip me#art supplies are expensive#I spent $60 just on HALF the canvas I'll need I'm dying

Wip Wednesday round up! I grabbed current photos of every single one of my projects I have any intention of finishing.
I've been getting the new project zoomies. Hopefully by having an easy visual of exactly how many unfinished projects I have will stop me from making any bad decisions.
Starting with Blanket 10. Basic granny squares crocheted with value acrylic (mostly or all big twist value).

I'm not a crochet guy but this granny square blanket is coming along. Working on square 109/121. I'm both excited for and dreading for joining all these.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Shawl 14 | Pattern | Yarn

My poor Evenstar has been neglected. I've knit mayyybe a row in the past two months. It's still very fun to knit but my brain is just in a different head space (blankets and plushies).
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
The Never Ending Hat. Knit with some random acrylic light fingering weight yarn.

I cast on this hat in July and it's just taken me this long for 3 inches. Black yarn plus 1x1 rib plus tiny yarn equals a bad time. I planned on this hat being all 1x1 rib but it's just not happening, at least I can knit this yarn in stockinette while reading/watching a video.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Shawl 13 | Pattern

I've actually been working on this one! But every row is over 500 stitches so it doesn't really Look like I've done all that much. I have put it down for a bit because the next row goes up to over 750 stitches and it's painful to think about. But after I finish that increase row, I'll be starting the border!
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Shawl 11 | Yarn 1 | Yarn 2 | Pattern

I haven't really gotten a lot of work done on this. I gotta pick it up more when I'm in a brioche mood instead of just staring deeply in to brioche patterns.

Druid hood | Pattern | Yarn

This is the beginning of the cowl portion of this hood my friends and I are all knitting. I actually didn't mean to get this far in but I needed something to knit while reading and this is particularly easy and fun. My yarn choice isn't ideal but it's the yarn I have.

Alpaca | Pattern | Yarn

This project does not get better. The main problem continues to be the yarn. It's really unpleasant to work with. And the transition between the neck at body involves a very long series of short rows which was extremely painful. The pattern so cute.... I hope it turns out if it doesn't i'll cry.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
Last and certainly least is my second go at the teddy bear pattern. I managed to lose the photo I took but I got half way into One bear leg so far. Nothing worth retaking a photo for since I'm just making the same pattern over again. I can't wait to have Two teddy bears in pieces sitting in a bag next to my desk.

The knitting on the second sleeve is proving excruciatingly slow
I'm just a bit over row 33
Sooo 31 rows before the first decreases
And while knitting, I'm thinking about. New projects. More new projects...
Like starting more cotton jumpers but thicker this time. Or crocheting a Granny Hexagon Cardigan still with Rosegarden but held triple. Or just fanciful dreams of woollen sweaters with colourwork that I'm stopping myself from casting on because I'm pretty sure the temps ARE going to be +30C and over, again. Or even more inadvisable THICK wool sweaters......
Or shawls. Speaking of which, I actually stumbled upon the "advent shawl" 2022 or 2023 (from Rav) that I got distracted from while knitting day 11 or 12. It's really a colourful clusterfuck and idk if the pattern itself is even going to be visible, but it's fun. And has this funky papery texture...
As I said before, my mind is too free to roam with this little jumper, for my own good. But I'm gonna stay at it, because!! It's actually fun and I want to knit it the most XD
#shut up kevin#craftsy talks#knitting#there's nothing like a mindless raglan jumper in the even more mindless Knit Separated Tubes phase...

A little writing project of mine that I have on A03 that I'm going to throw here to. Rated: E F/M Papa Emeritus II x F!Reader Cardinal Copia x F!Reader Chapter 11: It comes to this Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10
You stood in front of your mirror holding up different outfits. "What does one wear on a business date?" You asked turning to look at the rats playing around in their cage, marmalade currently resting in the corner of her own set up heavily pregnant, you loved that cute little blond rat her color pattern made it look like she was wearing a yellow shawl. "What do you guys think?." You held up the outfits as if the pets would answer you.
"I like the black dress." Spinning you were face to face with Copia who was leaning against the doorway you let out a breath. "Copia you scared the fuck out of me." A hand was on your chest before you realized that you were only in your undergarments blushing you held the dress up to cover yourself. "Why? it is not like I have not seen your beauty before." his words made your face grow a little warmer as you took the black dress and slid it on over your head, fluffing out your hair in the mirror you could see how red and puffy Copias eyes were your face twisted into one of concern.
"Copia your eyes- have you been crying?." You walked over to him your hand cupping his cheek you could feel him start to lean into your touch but pull away. "Do not go." He spoke sternly "What?." "I said do not go, stay here, with me instead." Copia took your hands into his gloved ones. "Cara Mia please stay with me." "Copia I ca-." "I can give you anything and everything you want cara, love me the way I love you the night we spent together you looked so happy you always look happy when you are with me and-and-and the confessional I can make all of it come true, and more we can be more, just--- stay." Copias confession had you staring at him… confessional?..oh…OH! Oh fuck now you remembered everything you said suddenly you were feeling guilty he thought you…. oh this poor man, this poor big hopeful-eyed man. "Copia-." "Please, if I have to get onto my knees say it sorella and I shall do it." "No, no Copia don't-." You paused staring at him.
"You… love me?." You watched as Copias face went beat red right up to the tips of his ears realizing through his stammering and pleas for you to stay that he had admitted his feelings. "I-I-I-." His pushy demeanor fell flat, his eyes looking down at your hands held within his, circles rubbed around your knuckles. "S-Si I do, I have f-for a while." Ah, there was that stuttering wonderful fool you knew. "Look, I've already promised Secondo this afterward I'll come right back here okay?." "..Promise?." The word was muttered and the tone almost broke your heart there was a fleeting thought of texting Secondo and saying something came up, no you wouldn't do that to him. "Just one thing- can I have just one kiss before you go?." You chuckled nodding to Copia who perked up a small smile coming to his face. "Grazie." Leaning in he let his lips brush against yours, it was only supposed to be a short sweet kiss but as soon as you kissed back your hands were all over each other. His finding their way up your dress to your breast in minutes flat teasing each nipple with the pad of his thumbs you both swallowed each other's moans, damn Emeritus's, and their tasty lips. Copia's lips kissed their way down your throat. "Okay- I need to finish getting ready for the meeting." Appreciating that you called it a meeting instead of a 'date' Copia listened reluctantly pulling away from you his breathing heavy, kissing his cheek you finish getting ready applying your makeup, and fixing your hair the last bit was a spritz of perfume after looking at yourself to make sure you looked okay-ish, you stepped out you baby talked to the three little rats Bisscoti, Rigatoni, and Marmalade.
"You look like you're about ready to pop sweetie." Grabbing a sunflower seed you gave each of the ones watching them scurry to eat it, hearing the little chitters upon standing you turned to see Copia staring at you. "What?." "Ah.. eh… n-nothing you just- you just look beautiful sorella." You felt your cheeks redden. "Thank you, Copia, I'll be back alright." He stopped you for one more kiss on the cheek heading out to the front of the ministry your heels clicking against the cement steps. The chauffeur Ghoul drove the car around, looking back at the large building you swore you had seen a shadow move away from one of the windows the move making you chuckle as you slipped into the back seat. Settling in you sighed, damn it, you were in a dilemma now between Secondo and Copia, you never thought you'd see yourself in this kind of situation that was for sure. The ghoul's eyes looked at your reflection in the mirror seeing how troubled you looked. "Everything alright doll?." He asked shaking you from your thoughts. "Yeah, Axel everything is-… no everything isn't fine I have a lot on my mind." You thought for a moment perhaps you could get some outside help.
"Axel?." "Hm?." "I have this friend right, another sister of sin and she likes two people very much how do you know when it's love and not just lust?." Axel thought for a few minutes stopping at a red light. "Hmm, I think you should talk to Divine about that one." He looked at your reflection again before adding.
"Tell your friend to ask each person what they love about her and see which one loves what's on the inside instead of just the package." You stared at the ghoul for a moment. "You know Axel.. that is pretty good advice." Maybe you would try that and see how they felt, see who wanted you for you and not just your body, once the car stopped in front of the restaurant you leaned forward between the seats and pressed a kiss to the cheek of the ghoul's mask the hell beast giving you an affectionate purr in return, stepping out you straightened your dress and patted at your hair. Walking into the place right off the bat you could tell it was very fancy, a live band playing soothing music and everyone dressed high-class it made you feel a little underdressed.
"Sorella." You heard his voice making you turn around and greeted by his paintless face, dressed in what looked like a satin black suit his usual leather gloves on. "Secondo." You greeted him as he took his sunglasses off, hooking them into his suit pocket. "Bella, I am so glad you came." He took your hand placing a kiss on the back of it. "Do you have a reservation?." The desk woman asked as she returned. "Si, it is under Emeritus." The woman looked through her list. "Oh yes, this way please." Secondo linked your arms together as you walked to the back of the restaurant, opening the sliding doors to the balcony where several tables sat, Twinkle lights blinked like stars circled the roof a smile rested on your lips as you took in the sight. "It's so beautiful and that view." You unlooped your arm from Secondos to speed walk to the edge overlooking the city down below so many lights and colors. "I always come here," Secondo spoke standing beside you. "I figured you would like it." You both were seated at the table the menus given to you, Secondo ordered a bottle of wine for the table, it was all… so romantic you had no idea that the man across from you could put something like this together.
He poured your glass and then his own. "Now onto business, the file system you had set up worked phenomenally, the sister they saddled me with can't compare and I was wondering if you had written any of your tips or tricks down to get things moving easier again." You blinked staring at him. "They gave you a new assistant?." You felt your mouth go dry. "Temporary assistant." Secondo corrected You forced a smile but you couldn't help the thought that rose in the back of your mind… were they co-workers with benefits too?.. "Which sister if I may ask?." "Sister Leiah." Sister Leiah?! He had to be fucking her she was beautiful in the face and body to boot when you were new to the Ministry you even caught yourself looking at her for too long sometimes, that and she had quite the reputation. The evening went on talking about random things mostly about work, Latin translations, and that you'd have a step-by-step guide on his desk soon so things would run smoothly. You wore a smile yet inside your heart was breaking all you could think about was fucking Leiah in Secondos arms, on his desk where you had been on so many occasions for three years you gave yourself to him willingly. He had even told you he loved you in that moment you wished you had canceled and stayed home with Copia but you were a woman of your word and you would treat this as a business meeting.
"So does Leiah have any organizational abilities at all?." "Sister Imperator said she had them however I have yet to see them." Your mind kept slipping back to Primo's kitchen the slow dancing the goofiness, was it a dream or was it a reality? you couldn't tell anymore. Even for Secondo's emotionally stunted ass, he could tell something wasn't right with you. "Tesoro, what is wrong? you've been so quiet toni-." "Are you messing with her?." "Scusa?." "Are you messing with her?." He didn't answer right away. "I wouldn't call a few massages 'messing', why?" "Okay, I think we are done here." You spoke tapping your mouth clean. "Cara no wait-." "No." No was one thing he hated being told and you knew it, he hated it even more when you disobeyed and weren't his 'good girl' as he had called you multiple times in the past he was so confused what's even worse is that you didn't even hear him out, you knew how Secondo could be once he had several drinks in his system, the thoughts just kept on hounding your mind and chipping away at your heart as you got up and stormed off, you could hear him call after you, he couldn't follow the restaurant not letting him leave until he had paid the bill luckily you were a fast walker even in heels. Lucifer you felt so stupid! How could you have fallen for him even after knowing how many siblings desired him and how many threw themselves at him it made you wonder if he was fucking anyone else on the side when you were his assistant.
You were walking blindly into the night and before you knew it you were at least a mile from where the ghoul had dropped you off. Sighing in frustration as you pulled out your phone seeing many calls and unread text messages from Secondo, still pissed you ignored them and tapped on your screen.
Hey Copia… are you still awake?.. Si, Sorella are you alright?
No :') He didn't hurt you, did he? What did he do?! I will hunt him down.
Easy Copia easy! though it's nice to know you would go after Secondo's ass for me x'D I would go after anyone's ass who hurts you.
That's so sweet, uh I hate to ask since it's so late but… could you give me a ride home? I kind of stormed off like a dumbass UnU Of course Sorella, anything for you just give me the location and I'll be there.
You looked around seeing that it was one of the many parks in the area, texting the address to him you walked over to the playground kicking your shoes off before stepping into the sand and heading over to the swings. You took a seat hand wiping your eye. "I'm so fucking stupid." you scolded yourself as you gently swayed to and fro. Back at the Ministry Copia was rushing around looking for his keys muttering ways he was going to kick Secondo's ass for hurting you, finding them he rushed out down to the door. "Cardi what in the seven hells are you doing?." Imperator asked. Telling her that you needed him to come and get you put a smile on the greying blond's face, it seems things were moving along quicker than she expected. "Well, you look all too happy." Belial's voice came as he phased through the wall his hands behind his back. "Of course, soon we'll have our new leader and his Prime Mover, a packaged deal to ensure the future, Secondo is doing half the work for me." Imperator chuckled. "Emotionally stunted fool." Belial rolled his eyes. "You sound like a two-bit Disney villain." "Shut up!." Imperator hissed at the Infernal Prince as he phased back into the wall.
You looked down at your phone watching the time go by looking up whenever a car drove by hoping that it was Copia, when one did finally stop you were relieved to see that old Buick and even more so to see the driver that got out of it, whatever loud song he had been listening to was turned off as he made his way over. The Cardinal, well he wasn't dressed in his cassock sat in the swing next to you. "You okay?." You gave a slow nod to him watching as he held out a gloved hand a small smile came to your face as you accepted the handhold both gently swinging slowly hand in hand. "Sorella?, may I ask what happened?." "Just…." You let out a breath, Copia deserved some kind of answer given that he had come out here at ass o' clock at night. "Apparently.. they gave Secondo a new assistant, Sister Leiah and we all know her reputation." You couldn't help but sound a bit snobby, the tone made Copia snort. "Is that why you were so upset cara?" "No, I asked him if he was messing with her, you know 'messing'. " "I know, I know, I know." "Well, he paused and then said." You did your best mock Secondo impression. "I wouldn't call a few massages 'messing' ." You sighed your toes kicking at the sand burying your big toes and enjoying the coldness of the earth. "We all know what that leads to, especially with someone like Sister Leiah, she's so pretty but a total snobby bitch." "You think she's pretty?." Copia asked his brow arching. "Yeah, don't you?, Everyone does hell even Primo probably." that got a chuckle from the Cardinal. "I doubt that Primo has eyes for anyone aside from Gemma and please you are a million times better looking than Leiah." You could feel the warmth come to your face along with a smile even if he was just saying it to be nice it felt good. "Go home and watch a movie?." He asked thumb rubbing circles onto your knuckle. "It's a date." You giggled both gently swinging slowly still hand in hand. "You're my best friend Copia."
'Friend' a part of his heart chipped again hearing the word he could already hear Dew 'Man you got friend zoned!!!!' as much as he wanted to argue the fact and ask you about being more than friends Copia stayed silent he could tell you were hurting and didn't want to hurt you further or anger you. Finally, the two of you got up from the swings heading to Copias car his arm around your shoulders as soon as you picked up your heels a car pulled up behind Copia's Secondo getting out of the back seat. "Sorella! there you are I was worried why did- what is he doing here?." Copia tried to appear brave but Secondo's cold stare sent a shiver down his spine. "I asked him to pick me up." "Why?." "You know why." Secondo looked utterly confused, did he not know? did you make a fool of yourself again? you looked at Copia as if he had the answer to your unasked question. "Is this about Leiah?." Secondo asked his arms crossing. "Yes." You answered faster than you wanted to. "How cute tesoro you are jealous." Secondo chuckled. "That is cute but nothing is going on between me and Sister Leiah." He insisted, true it was just a massage you'd given him massages before while he worked, but then that was you, not the ministries bicycle, and really… were you any better? you've fucked Copia though in your defense that was before Secondo told you he loved you.
You looked between the two men.. a choice needed to be made that night so you shut your brain off and listened to your heart for once…

First socks
project dates: 2024/01/30-02/11
Yarn used: Malabrigo Sock 859 (Primavera) Because the yarn line has the word "sock" in it, I assumed it would be a safe choice for this project. However, some crafters have recommended it more for shawls/scarves--pretty much any other fingering weight project. It's also 100% SW wool, compared to the often-recommended 75/25 SW wool/nylon blend, so I'll have to see how this wears over time.
Pattern: Rye Light from Tin Can Knits (free!)
This was my first time knitting (or doing any fiber craft project, really) using fingering weight yarn. Everything was so thin; I felt like I was trying to knit floss with toothpicks! Eventually, I got used to handling both the yarn and the DPNs in a way that minimized laddering (a little visible, but I feel like blocking took care of most of it).
Overall, this project took a deceptively long time to knit! I now understand why knitters often recommend learning sock construction with worsted weight yarn. Thankfully, I never got bored since I could autopilot large sections of the sock while doing something else.

During this project, I learned how to wrap and turn short rows to create the heel. Next time, I'd like to try German short rows--I wasn't too satisfied with the small gaps, though blocking seemed to take care of it. I also learned to graft/Kitchener stitch the toe of a cuff-down sock. I improved my frogging / picking up dropped stitch skills as well. Even though there's some small errors with skipped stitches, I was able to catch most of them during the knitting process.

Bonus tube sock (pattern) for the cat. I would make a full set if he'd be willing to wear them, but he immediately kicked it off as soon as we managed to wrestle it on.

I feel incredibly winded right now. My torso feels very tight and I just feel like I am struggling to catch my breath. It's been like that basically all day. Which is really frustrating. But the stress test went well and while I am still anxious, I at least got to see baby and be told she's moving good.
I was so exhausted though. I struggled hard to fall asleep last night. And we had to wake up early to get to the appointment. Sweetp was being very naughty last night. Standing on my hair, pulling on the charms on the wall, knocking things over. Yelling! He was just begging for attention but we were sleeping. I kept telling him to just lay down with us and eventually he would but he was just all over the place.
I woke up at 6 to use the bathroom but did close my eyes for a few more minutes before my alarm went off at 630.
Getting ready was tough. I wore soft clothes and just wanted to be comfortable. I also am now going to every appointment with the thought I could be there all day so I have to have everything that I might want to be comfortable. Slip on shoes. Poncho shawl. A snack. Battery pack. I asked James to pack a muffin and a juice for me. And we headed out.
It was cold, but not as bad as it was the other day. We got to the hospital and checked in and didn't have to wait to long.
We were taken back through a different door. We met with a nurse this time and she was nice. Though I don't know if she was exactly following my time line of events story. But I think eventually we were on the same page.
I didn't know I would have an ultrasound. But it was nice seeing baby move. I also got to feel her way more while laying there and feeling her and seeing her was fun. She had hiccups! Which apparently count as practice breathing. Neat.
I got all strapped up with the monitors. She said it would be about 20 minutes to get everything they wanted for the day. James was good to stay with me until 8 before they would have to leave for work.
The nurse said that I am allowed to eat before these appointments so while I was being monitored James would break me off little pieces of muffin.
We would finish up there. All of my appointments are already set. So checkout didn't take long and we were able to leave together. James walked with me back to the car. And were quick to get their bike and headed to work.
I was very ready to go home and rest. I feel very lucky to live less then 10 minutes from the hospital.
When I got home I finished eating my muffin and had my juice. I would get cozy and got back in bed and slept for a few hours.
I woke up around 11. And I did not feel amazing. My whole body felt like it was full of cement. It was not ideal at all.
I tried to perk up. I had some time just scrolling on my phone. I decided I should go and get something to eat. And then go to target and get the kitty litter and cat food.
I took my time getting myself together. I heard the trash truck outside so I was not shocked when my car was trapped. I could be patient though. I ordered McDonald's on my phone and waited for the trash truck to move. Which took about ten minutes but it was fine.
I got my McDonald's and ate in the parking lot. I got a burger with no party. And that was pretty excellent. I enjoyed my podcast and my lunch and once I was done I headed to target.
It wasn't terribly busy. I got a cart. And found the kitty litter and cat food. I did not find the body wash I wanted. But I got some candy and was having fun walking around.
I would get a pull over hoodie for an idea I had. I wanted to add nipple piercings to a sweatshirt. I thought it would be very funny.
And I was right! When I got home I put away a few things. And got to work on my silly project. I went through all my spare jewelry and found two navel piercings that were the same size and used an awl to pierce the fabric. And it came out so good! Subtle but hilarious to me.
I was really winded though. I wanted to do stuff. Cleaning and putting things away. But all of a sudden I was wildly winded. I was upset that I was so winded. I was just feeling unhappy.
I would try my best to not be to hard on myself. I would go out for a little walk. I went to CVS and finally got my prescription. The woman was very nice and she gave me free popcorn? I am not sure why but it was a nice gesture.
I got home and did some picking up. Ran the room around. Trimmed a plant. And waited for James to come home.
When James got back here they would give me a kiss and get to doing some tasks around the house. Helping me out away some fabric. Pruning the rest of the plants. And eventually making dinner.
James made me an omelette for dinner. Which was great and helped me feel a lot better. Maybe I just didn't have enough protein today. Because while I still have a ton of pressure in my torso, I don't feel so wildly out of sorts. So that is nice.
I would put together some outfits. For the rest of the year. And made plans with Jess for tomorrow. We are going to go meet at the mall and walk around and just spend some time together. Hopefully I am feeling good.
Now though I am showered. And feeling alright. Me and James are watching call the midwife and just having a nice evening together. And I hope you are having a nice evening too.
Sleep well my friends. Goodnight!
