Disclaimer, I love Veronaville, and as much as I know it's not as popular, I actually, if not ironically, played exclusively in Veronaville as a child for a bit. This is not Veronaville erasure or hate. Context below:

I have said in my previous post that I am planning on 1 main hood (Pleasantview), 3 university hoods, 1 downtown, 3 resorts (min), and 2 shopping districts (Strangetown and Veronaville) and that is will incorporate all further sims 3 and 4 hoods accordingly into this subcategories (merging). However, I know my computer will be able to sustain this just fine once I rebuy (anyone who missed over on reddit, this projectwas brought on by me having to restart a personal save anyways after a housefire, so I currently do not have a computer but am working towatds it while i do this and will then physically begin) and I'm also not ignorant to the fact other people won't have a "gaming" computer

🔸️ I've been told the amount of subhoods can and also can't affect game performance, regardless, more subhoods does mean more loading screens so I'm still not sure if there's a preference on that

Anyways, context out of the way, if I limit the amount of hoods in the save, it would drastically help the hoods performance, and I'm not sure how many people would be concerned about that. I am completely fine with continuing to make Veronaville be its OWN subhood, but realistically, it's also only three additional families. Who would be in favor of me extending the Pleasantview map and just making Veronaville be an area of pleasantview, and who wants it to definitely be its OWN subhood with merging things like Henford-on-bagley?

New solar power design research conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) could lead to higher powered, more affordable solar panels.

Withthe help of computer simulations and various advancedchip-manufacturing methods, a team of physicists and engineers at MIThave discovered new ways of getting greater efficiency from photovoltaic solar cells.

Inthe experiment, the team applied an anti-reflective coating to thefront, and a innovative series of multi-layered reflective coatings anda defraction grating - a closely spaced array of lines - to the back ofultra-thin silicon films to increase the cells' power by up to 50%.

Withthe help of the carefully designed layers on the back of each cell,light is bounced around longer inside the thin silicon film, allowingit more time to transfer its energy into an electric current.?Withoutthose coatings the light would be reflected straight out of the cell.

Oneof the team members, Peter Bermel, a post-doctoral researcher in MIT'sphysics department explained that it is critical that any lightentering the layer should travel through a long path in the silicon.?But what they have not figured out yet is how long that path has to beto ensure maximum absorption of electrons to produce the electriccurrent.

The test was started by running thousands of computersimulations, testing variations of the thickness of the silicon,?spacing of the lines, and the amount and thickness of reflective layerson the back. These simulations were then used to optimize efficiencyand power output.

According to Lionel Kimerling, the projectmanager and Thomas Lord Professor of Materials Science and Engineering:"The simulated performance was remarkably better than any otherstructure, promising, for 2-micrometer-thick films, a 50 percentefficiency increase in conversion of sunlight to electricity."

Oncesimulations were complete, they were confirmed by actual lab-scaletests, where graduate student Lirong Zeng was given required to refinethe structure and make the silicon cell.?As predicted, the experimentwas a success and sparked considerable industry interest.

Thework done so far was just the first step toward manufacturing anaffordable, improved solar cell. Now all that is needed is somefine-tuning through more simulations and lab tests, and more work onthe materials and manufacturing process.

According to isolation transformer Kimberling,if the solar business stays strong, we can expect this new technologyto be ready within the next three years. Bermel added that, "thepotential for savings is great, since the high-quality silicon crystalsubstrates used in conventional solar cells represent about half thecost, and the thin films in this version use only about 1 percent asmuch silicon."

To evaluate its business potential, the projectwas selected by the MIT Deshpande Center for an "i-team" study. Here itwas concluded that this thin film solar cell technology could provideconsiderable benefits in both manufacturing and electricity production,for uses ranging from remote off-grid to dedicated clean energy.

Whileno single project is likely to minimize the cost of solar cells, thistype of innovation takes us one step closer to making solar power design competitive with fossil fuel and nuclear grid electricity.

takt op.Destiny TV Anime Sings to October 5 Premiere in New Visual, Trailer

  One of the surprises from the MAPPA 10th-anniversary event tonight is the reveal that the previously announced takt op. project will have its anime produced by MAPPA and Madhouse. A new trailer and visual was released alongside a broadcast date and key staff and cast.

        Directing the anime will be Yuki Ito (storyboards on Attack on Titan Final Season, episodes 10, 15, 22 director on Demon Slayer) based on the original concept from DeNA and Sakura Wars video game creator Oji Hiroi. Kiyoko Yoshimura (The God of High School) will be providing the series composition, with Reiko Nagasawa (sub-character designer on Overlord season 3) drawing the character design based on LAM's original characters. Yoshihiro Ike (Dororo) will be doing the music. The animation will be co-produced at MAPPA and Madhouse.

    Koki Uchiyama will be voicing the character Takuto Asahina.

    The takt op. project was announced back in March as a mix-media project between DeNA and Bandai Namco. takt op.Destiny will start on Japanese TV on October 5 on TV Tokyo at midnight.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson Recuses Himself From Keystone Pipeline Decisions

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will recuse himself from any decisions surrounding the Keystone XL pipeline, the State Department said.

Tillerson, former CEO of Exxon Mobil Corp., decided last month to remove himself from issues related to pipeline owner TransCanadas application for a permit, saida letter from the State Department to environmental group Greenpeaceon Thursday.

He has not worked on that matter at the Department of State, and will play no role in the deliberations or ultimate resolution of TransCanadas application, said the letter, signed by Katherine McManus, State Department deputy legal adviser.

The State Department plays a key role in Keystone XL because the pipeline would cross the U.S. border with Canada. Annie Leonard, executive director of Greenpeace USA, wrote to the State Department on Wednesday,urging Tillerson to step away from any decisions regarding Keystone because his former employer, Exxon Mobil, would directly and predictably benefit from the approval of the project.

TransCanadas Keystone XL pipeline, which would carry oil from Canadas tar sands through the U.S. and on to the Gulf of Mexico, had been the source of political and environmental handwringing for five years until former President Barack Obama rejected the project in 2015, citing climate change. The projectwas revived in January, when President Donald Trump called for approval of both Keystone and the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline.

TransCanada quicklyrefiled an application to build its pipeline.

Despite Tillersons recusal on Keystone, Greenpeace called for greater monitoring of the Trump administration, asking the Office of Government Ethics to watch Trumps Cabinet of billionaires and corporate executives like hawks.

We must keep pushing this administration into the spotlight and demanding that ethics watchdogs hold these individuals accountable and make these decisions regarding rampant conflicts of interest transparent, Diana Best, the groups senior climate and energy campaigner, said in a statement.
