I felt this was appropriate here because of the context but also most of the people I followed for FF are posting Among Us stuff now, but as someone on the older end of my teens I feel damn old with all these 13 year olds and they’re MEAN, but anyway here’s the best lobby of wholesome, “everyone liked that”

This fic is very silly, and those two are absolutely terrible. 

[Ohh, Ptera-bot~]

Waspinator’s crooning voice filtered through Terrorsaur’s commline and the Predacon smiled. It had been a long and bright day out on the field with the sun scorching high above him and a permanent unyielding annoyance hovering over his shoulder, and he figured he could use the distraction. He deserved it.

[Hey bug-boy] he smirked, [finally out of the CR chamber?]

Waspinator buzzed in the affirmative, which wasn’t really that surprising, he spent more time in the CR than the rest of them combined. It was basically his second bedroom, but the bug did tend to get whiny when he missed out on things.

[Where is Ptera-bot now?] He asked, and Terrorsaur could just see his annoying little pout from here. [Not on the ship…]

[Megatron gave us a mission.] Terrorsaur was busy arming a bomb. Or trying to anyways. It wasn’t really the type of bomb you could just build offsite and then chuck wherever you wanted it, it was a lot more needlessly complicated than that and had to be assembled in the environment. Apparently the Maximals were more likely to fall for the trap in this setup, but if you asked Terrorsaur (which no one ever did) then he’d say that Mega-loser was making this stupidly complicated just to spite him. And he hadn’t even done anything wrong this time!

Across the commline and back at base, Waspinator was already whining. [And left Waspinator all alone?] He was such a drama queen. [Now all Waspinator has to keep him company is big ugly claw-bot and spider-bot]

[Well, what did you want me to do? You lost your slagging head.]  Good mood temporarily forgotten Terrorsaur jabbed at a few finicky connections half-heartedly with little result. Inferno was supposed to be helping him with this slagging mess, but he’d gotten frustrated and stormed off to ‘patrol’ ages ago – not before shouting at Terrorsaur about how he was ‘the expert’ and should know how program a bomb on his own anyways. What an idiot. The bomb wasn’t the problem, it was the way Megatron wanted it. [Next time I’ll just cart you around like a bunch of spare parts.]

It was intended to be an insult, or something of the sort at least, but Waspinator made that long sing-song sound that Terrorsaur had come to learn meant he was very amused with where things were going. [Nyuu~ Ptera-bot can carry Waspinator if he wants to~]

Oh good, that’s where he’d hoped it was going too. Bomb temporarily forgotten (with every ounce of prejudice he could muster too, and that was a lot) Terrorsaur grinned across the commline. [Yeah? You want me to carry you off to my nest?]

There was a few clicks from Waspinator’s side as he clacked his greasy mandibles together (always kind of gross if you asked Terrorsaur) and then he was back to playing haughty. [Hmm… Only if Ptera-bot promises to buy Waspinator whatever he wants first.]

[Hah!] The laughter bubbled out of Terrorsaur first in a screech. [Yeah right! I’m not buying anything for you!] Not that they really had any considerable way to spend credits anyways stuck millions of years in the past on a prehistoric planet, but that wasn’t the point. The point was to tease Waspinator, and avoid the unfortunate reality of his actual work for as long as mechanically possible.

This time when Waspinator started whining it was in that high-pitched pleading tone he always saved for just such an occasion. The one Terrorsaur really liked. [Mean! Ptera-bot is being so mean! Buy Waspinator something pretty.]

He could be cute sometimes.

[Dream on!] Terrorsaur spun one of the many wires scattered about him around his finger idly, losing track of which one was supposed to go where. Behind him a familiar figure marched their way back around towards his hideout, but that went unnoticed too. [Besides, you’ve already got something pretty.]

[Hmm?] Waspinator trilled in curiosity, [what’s pretty?]

[Me!]

The shrieking gasp of Terrorsaur’s laughter drowned out the noises of feigned indignation on the other end as he threw his head back and cackled. Then even that bit of fun was cut short as Inferno popped up again from seemingly nowhere.

“Is that bomb ready yet?!” Inferno shouted it like the fact of his sudden appearance alone wasn’t enough to alert Terrorsaur that he was back. Big surprise, he was always shouting. “What are you doing!”

How much of a trap was this supposed to be anyways when the idiot wouldn’t stop yelling about it? Terrorsaur rolled his optics and untangled the wire he’d been coiling around his finger. “Yeah, I’m almost done.” He replied boredly. No thanks to Inferno. The ant could pretend like he was a serious and militaristic soldier all he wanted, but Terrorsaur knew he could be just as lazy as the rest of them. Not that Terrorsaur himself was lazy, mind you. He was the only one who wasn’t, and if he ever did act that way it was just because he knew what jobs he was above when they were handed down to him.

“Who are you talking to?” Inferno demanded, because he liked to pretend he was in charge. “Are they helping with the mission?”

Terrorsaur stared directly back into Inferno’s suspicious optics. “Yes.”

He heard Waspinator giggle across the line.

“Tell them to hurry up!” Immediately impatient, Inferno accepted the information without pause as he pointed towards the bomb like he had some kind of authority. He’d been breathing down Terrorsaur’s neck about that stupid thing all day. “If the two of you can’t figure it out, I’ll fix it myself.”

With fire, no doubt. Terrorsaur was halfway through another eyeroll when he fully realized the truth behind his own con. He narrowed his optics and his tone turned accusatory, “Two of us? What, you think I need help?”

“Eh? That’s why you called the spider.”

Waspinator’s distant giggles turned into full laughter and it was at that point Terrorsaur decided to become irrationally offended.

“Hey!” He squawked, jumping upright from where he’d previously been lounging. “Who’s the expert here? I know what I’m doing!”

He didn’t, actually. He’d gotten his wires crossed during his all too willfully imposed distraction, but Terrorsaur wasn’t about to let something like that stop him from proving his own self-worth. He grabbed the wires he rightfully assumed had to be the ones he was looking for (he was the expert after all) and plugged them into their respective ports haughtily. There. Finished. Who thought he needed to call in for help?

When the timer immediately began counting off, Terrorsaur hardly even had time to shoot Inferno a wide-eyed stare.

Waspinator still had his commline open and listening when the bomb exploded, and even from the other side of the room Megatron could hear Terrorsaur’s screeching as his latest great plan went up in smoke and fire. He was surrounded by imbeciles.

Fellas... I am once again going to apologize

I know I’ve established that my blog activities entirely hinge on what my interest spike is in right now, I just feel really bad leaving the blog unattended because the Fossil Fighters community is fabulous, I love you guys and don’t want to stop making content it‘s just my interest... really isn’t present right now. This blog is by no means dead, it’s just kind of... on hold until Fossil Fighters takes center stage among my interests again if that makes sense? This fandom has been incredibly good to me and I could never just leave it.

So for the like fifteenth time I apologize for my sporadic ways of blog running. Right now my Rhythm Heaven blog @tapswitcher-theoneandonly is where I’m ruffling around right now but I swear once this interest comes back I’ll be back!!

This is a really good Rupert moment. I love his character development and replaying this game now that I’m older, this moment really got my heart considering everything that’s built up to this moment.

I love Rupert so much as a character because he (and all the other Champions main cast for that matter) has this fantastic growth and this is just him completely shedding the image his father built for him to just be a happy teenage boy who loves fossil fighting just like he did when I was a kid. Rupert has a lot of good dialogue in the game expressing that growth and seeing him so excited was really rewarding.

So first of all I just wanted to say that I have gotten so many new followers what??? At least 15 new followers are on this blog and what are y’all here for?? What prompted it?? Who ARE you??

Secondly I wanted to say my hiatus might unfortunately be extending... surgery happened and in post op right now I’m not good for much other than playing DS games and Skyrim right now. I’m really sorry for the long disappearance especially with so many new folks following me (which I am like, so floored about) but unfortunately my surgery has kind of thrown a monkey wrench in my plans of returning sooner.

Real talk love the Fossil Fighters community, I’ve only been active for a short while but this is a really nice and tightly knit community. I love how the entire fandom is so supportive of each other, it’s a really pleasant place to be and it provides a lot of joy for me to not only share my own artwork with a community me from a few years ago was pretty sure didn’t exist, but just browsing the FF tag and seeing the content everyone out there has made. I feel really welcomed and connected despite only being here a short time.

A random Dino headcanon that I have is that he’s selectively mute and usually talks through sign language unless he’s super comfortable with someone like Todd, but because so few people know sign language there’s times where Dino just loses his filter entirely and starts signing wild insults at people who really piss him off (mainly Rupert’s father every time they meet) and Todd has to interpret incorrectly like “oh yeah... um... he says he’s pleased to meet you and uh... he’s excited to tell you about his vivosaur team...? yeah that...” while Dino makes direct and intense eye contact with whoever the offending person is and relentlessly rakes them over the coals through sign language

💚— Favorite Air Vivosaur?

As my url kind of gives away, it’s definitely Ptera! I’ve loved pterosaurs since I was a kid (probably because I loved dragons so much and they were the most dragon-like dinosaurs to me because they could fly) and I liked Ptera as soon as I saw it. I think it has a nice and simple design that’s still really appealing to the eyes, not to mention blue and yellow are a favorite color combo of mine. And its enrage skills? Goood shit.

I’m an absolute MANIAC for plushes and I honestly think that’s barely an exaggeration. Because Pokémon is a big part of my childhood I collect Pokémon plushes, and honestly displaying the plushes is the only reason I have any bedroom furniture beyond just a bed, it’s a problem. That being said I’d love seeing vivosaur plushies, and besides the obvious Ptera I think the one I’d want the most in plush form would be Amargo, or one of the chicken vivosaurs.

“True Neutral” Challenge

If you want a reason to replay Fossil Fighters but want a bit of a challenge, here’s an idea I came up with while basically looking for excuses to run through Champions again: do a monotype Neutral run. I found my ass kind of being saved by type advantages in some really tough fights so why not take that away entirely by limiting myself to only the neutral vivosaurs? I really don’t know if this will be a legit challenging thing or not until I complete it for myself but here’s a little idea anyhow

Real talk. If I was to upload one shots/fluff stories and potential requests for Fossil Fighters to my AO3 and link them back to tumblr would anyone be interested in those? Of course it’d mostly be ship pieces just because romance is what I’ve had the most experience writing, but I also want to do some character pieces for friendship interactions, shenanigans with the fighters and their vivosaurs, maybe a few AUs, but I don’t really want to take a step into doing any of that until I know it’s something people would want to see. I just love writing wholesome one shots as much as possible and I definitely do need the practice. ^^”
