hi omg this is the first time anyone has asked me for tips so i’m feeling v honoured rn wow thank you! (◕▿◕✿)

honestly, once you get a hang of the basic tools on ps (i.e layers, the general brushes, erasers, free transform etc.) it’s easy to learn more and build on your edits! initially, going through others’ edits can help you get inspired and get an idea of how to design yours, eventually you’ll develop your own style and will be able to make stuff independently with your own ideas. although looking at the community’s edits once in a while still helps if you’ve found yourself stuck in a design block, or maybe if you just feel like trying something new!

unless it’s for a request, i usually don’t plan my graphics as such, it’s more of a spur of the moment kind of thing really. i usually take a base photo/png which i want to use and play around with psds, overlays, brushes and text if necesssary, until i get a final result which i’m happy with. i even change the base sometimes if i think another photo/png suits the edit better.

don’t shy away from using contrasting colours, psds will help blend everything together eventually. try not to use too many fonts in an edit (my suggestion is stick to the simpler, basic ones like arial) try keeping a max of 2-3 fonts since too many different fonts can clash together. if you’re making gifs, don’t skip frames (gifs end up looking choppy if this is done so), the ideal gif speed would be 0.05
