Not much lore to drop, Flow kinda just shows up one day. Sonic and friends have no clue of what he wants… or why he keeps following them all around. Most are unnerved by ghost otter’s creepy demeanor, and his lack of effort to appear friendly doesn’t help, but Flow only causes problems when he’s bored

First of all, thank you so much for this message; it truly means more than I can put into words. Reading that Don't Hold Back inspired you to make an account made my heart ache (in a good way!) and brought back so many memories from that time. I can’t tell you how much it means to know my writing connected with someone like that.

You’re right... Life did happen. Over the past couple of years, I’ve gone through some really intense ups and downs. I needed to step back from many things to take care of myself, and unfortunately, that included writing. But your message (and others I just read after logging in again) reminded me of how healing and joyful this space once was for me and how much I missed it.

The good news is… I’m slowly finding my way back!! I’m writing again. Actually, working on something new that I’m super excited about, and once I feel more confident, I’d love to revisit my older stories too, including Don't Hold Back. No promises on exact timelines, but I am here. And I’m okay, healing, growing, and trying to return to the things that bring me joy, this account being one of them.

sorry for the stupid question, but said stupid question is about your comic commissions. by '$5/per page', do you mean per page (as in images, with each image containing however many panels/panel-like things) or per panel (squares/rectangles that provide flow and contain text and stuff)? sorry i. really don't know how to word this and describe what i want to describe lol. for example, if a comic is two pages (as in, two images within a post) but has four panels (two panels in each page), would it be $10 or $20?

$5/page means $5 a page, no matter how many panels

Usually in comic commissions, I get a scene and I decide how many panels in a page so that I can work with the flow of the comic. Due to that, I end up making more pages than what I might have expected to make the flow more natural!

Which is why, it's also important to

Set a budget

And I mean it! You should set a budget, for example $35-$40 (7-8 pages) and I'll see what I can do with the scene. It's only a budget and if the scene is small, I might be able to cut it to $30 or even $25!

However, you cannot expect me to do a whole large-scale scene with only say, $15 or $20 as your budget. I won't have enough room to draw your characters conversing mid-fight and then experiencing betrayal during a battle riddled with backstory

If you wonder why prices are so cheap... Well, I'm not really from the US and I base the pricing on my living conditions and on how much I would charge where I live. I thought it would be fair for you guys too. Those living in the US and outside of the US (like I do).

Also, I'm not a professional. I do these in my spare time away from school lmao

Can you make (insert character) as a puppet?

Making puppets takes ages and I really need to be motivated to do it, yes of course I'd love to make certain characters!! BUUUT I'd like to focus on the main characters I want to make at the moment!

How do you make your puppets?

Well uh... I really don't know how to make tutorials and with how different all the puppets are I don't think it'd be really possible, I made one once but maybe one day I'll make a proper something for this...

while i was writing up the wiki article for the heartbreak incident (yes i've been working like a maniac on the wiki) i figured out why sidestep has the burning hair smell and blood in their mouth when they get super stressed out, they're having functional seizures (and auras)!

i didn't actually understand how sidestep could have seizures while not being epileptic, but then i found out that's still possible. anyways, sometimes people smell burning hair or other phantom smells when they're about to have a seizure, and burning hair in particular is a stress scent for sidestep. you can also bite your tongue during a seizure.

they (almost always) trigger when sidestep's facing something very traumatic eg:

the final hb flashback in rebirth (and malin confirmed they're having a seizure in their sleep for the december 2023 qna)

Running on empty, too tired, and Chen's mind was a lot tougher to work with than you imagined. "You started seizing up. I was about to call an ambulance when…" His voice drifts off, and you can see it in his eyes. No ambulance. He wouldn't have. Not this time.

it's also possible that this is a defense mechanism against telepathic intrusion

[Ortega's immunity against telepathy as an epileptic] has something to do with the electrical storms in the brain that cause the seizures; there is enough static in there to make it nearly impossible to read ${his} mind. Or in this case, be influenced from the outside.

dunno how well this works if HB is riding shotgun inside their brain though. these moments are often (but not always) accompanied by sidestep's scar level increasing and/or a gate being opened
