With the Disney100 celebration going on this year and the confirmation that Darkwing Duck is included in the festivities as confirmed merch drops, I really hope when the thing gets to the 90s themed stuff that maybe, just MAYBE, we finally get a QuackerJack toy.

Dude's been a character for like 31 years, and he ain't go no collectible toys. Y'know. The guy who's main schtick is toys?

The funny cartoon duck who lives and breathes toys, and hates video games... and is in like seven video games, two of those appearances of which have been released in the last five years.

I just want a QuackerJack plushie or a figurine or, heck, even a FUNKO POP FIGURE, he'd look so good with my Megavolt toys. I'll even be fine with a rubber ducky collaboration thing that squeaks when you squish him, I don't care, I just want a tangible QuackerJack object that isn't a shirt, comic, game, episode, or a postage stamp. 🥺

I both hate and love ship Quackerjack/Claire.

Why do I hate it? Because we don't know anything about Claire. Very little attention has been paid to it. We haven't even really seen her relationship with Quackerjack! Claire is only needed to give Mr. Banana Brains to Darkwing, and Megavolt could well have performed this function, especially since judging by the nickname of the one who sold Mr. Banana Brains, it was most likely Megavolt found and repaired the toy. The logical question is why he didn't give the toy to the owner HIMSELF, but decided to sell it at auction?! Well, or Claire could have been the one to find and fix Mr. Banana's Brain... however, then the toy will return to Quackerjack at the beginning of the comic and he will not go crazy again. Seriously, so far the only reason I can explain Claire's existence is that the authors hate the Quackerjack/Megavolt and don't want them to interact.

Why do I love it?.. I like the Quackerjack/kind ordinary city dweller dynamic. Seriously, this sounds VERY interesting, although it may be corny. I wonder how their relationship will affect the lives of both of them, and how Quackerjack's friends will react to this. I wonder how Claire got used to the Quackerjack madness and got along with Mr. Banana Brain. How they influenced each other. And what came of it in the end. They don't have to be a couple for this - they can just be friends!

And it's really sad that Claire turned out like this. Unwritten, uninteresting, inanimate. She's not even a character - just a function that's needed for some reason.

I even feel sorry for her.

I hope one day I will gain strength, desire and inspiration and make my own version of Claire with my own story.

Darkwing Duck vs his villains - Darkwing Duck - Duckverse - My version

I haven't drawn just Darkwing Duck for a long time, as I've usually drawn him with Donald and his family for a long time. However, I decided to devote a little time to this favorite series of mine and one of the best that Disney has made. Also the new comics from Dynamite Entertainment aren't bad. Yes, I drew Darkwing Duck (Drake Mallard in a superhero costume as a parody of Shadow and Batman) with his Gas Gun clashing with his villains who were very much the star of his series and caused a lot of trouble for him, his family and St. Canard.

The main villains here in this drawing are Negaduck (created as a parody of Owlman, Reverse-Flash and Bizarro) from the Negaverse with his chainsaw, Megavolt (a parody of Electro), Quackerjack (a parody of The Joker and Toyman) with Mr Banana Brain, Dr. Reginald Bushroot (parody of Swamp Thing, Poison Ivy and Floronic Ma) with Spike, Liquidator (parody of Hydro-Man), Steelbeak (parody of Jaws from the James Bond series, and F.O.W.L. agent), Splatter Phoenix (an artist who has a magical and powerful brush to steal famous works of art), Taurus Bulba (as a Steerminator and a parody of The Kingpin from Marvel Comics), Tuskernini (a failed Hollywood movie director who steals movies along with his penguins), Ammonia Pine (half chicken and half owl who works for F.O.W.L. and constantly cleans and steals from cleaners), Professor Moliarity (a parody of The Mole Man from Fantastic Four) and finally Camille Chameleon (a duck who often changes her face and shape like a real chameleon). I wanted to add more villains, but not all of them would fit in one drawing, so I drew the most important and my favorite ones. Headcanon ask! How do you think the main cast is when sick? (Thinking mallard McQuacks + F5, know that’s a lot of characters though so no pressure lol)

No pressure at all,dw anon! Thank you as this is my first ask on this blog💛

• Starting with what I think the most obvious one is, DW would try to ignore it and still fight crime despite protests from Gosalyn and Launchpad,only to get a life lesson about how he probably should have listened to them XD Might aswell get a bit delirious and mess up his introduction words,the villains would be either confused or find it hilarious

• Gosalyn would be absolutely forced to stay bed by her dad (and possibly launchpad too),who would take care of her despite her being grumpy about it but she would appreciate the care. DW would take the "taking care of Gos" job very seriously aswell

• For Launchpad it's a bit hard to imagine,he is probably the one that takes care of the said sick person in most scenarios, something tells me he would be a bit paranoid as to what is wrong with him. Darkwing would calm him down though

I think these three would generally care for eachother if one got sick , (I really want to see fanfiction of that if anyone has any recs because uugh I love the Mallard (/mcquack) fam so much😭)

As for the v-ill-ains (ha-ha I'm so funny pun intended) (that was the worse joke I've ever made in my life):

•Negaduck would be in an even worse mood than usual,no matter how he got sick , he would blame someone else that he got sick at all. if he actually caught it from someone else,that someone else would be in great danger once Negaduck felt better😂 He would maybe even try to get Darkwing sick too (if he had enough strength to do it)

• I'd like to think Quackerjack hates being sick,ruins the "playtime" and all,he also would either get even crazier and more energetic than usual or be completely drained and not energetic at all , he would be very delirious and out of it,would definitely complain a lot about it either way. I think it would "affect" Mr. Banana brain too.

I also like the small headcanon that his jester hat would be droopy

• (i had fun with this one) Liquidator is also a bit hard to imagine, assuming he can get sick at all , but if water can get infected by bacteria and viruses then so can he get sick. I have this headcanon that his head would be boiling and forming more bubbles than usual without him controlling it, mimicking fever. He would hate it when that happens because there isn't much he can do to stop it , it's not like he can put a wet towel or anything over his forehead because it will absorb him lol.

•Megavolt would probably be a bit grumpy about it aswell but definitely not as much as Negaduck , probably would take a "day off" from being a villain and do very bad attempts at taking care of himself , maybe a certain jester maniac would try to offer his assistance there who knows maybe not, trying to stick close to canon and all xd

I don't have a lot to say about Bushroot because it's that simple: I really think he would probably be a little desperate to try to find a cure for himself

Gotta keep those in mind in case for a fanfiction I ever decide to write haha

The fearsome five are in agreement over being protective over one single matter that unites them all.

Darkwing Duck's secret identity.

They all know how he is, where he lives, Negaduck most importantly, but he doesn't do it, because only a supervillain with a death wish would do that and mark the end of an entertaining challenge. Not his exact words in his shouting over whether he looks like that kind of duck. This public revelation will also make crime fighting harder with tourists coming to the house at odd hours.

For example, should there be a villain who discovers the secret identity by putting one and one together regarding Drake Mallard entering one place then Darkwing exiting. He or she or they, whichever. Bushroot will be the first one to learn of it via a plant. He will inform the others about this sudden news break.

Bushroot will attempt to take care of the problem himself by infecting the threat with some infectious weed that will grow in the blood vessels of the threat. He will fail because Darkwing always wins and Spike saw it as cruel.

Negaduck will throw them into a cake that has a temporal displacement equipment within. The threat will return. Negaduck will set them down a criminal route then let them be taken in to prison until Splatter Phoenix stops it under the mistaken belief it's a bank truck after Megavolt reminds him there are criminals in prison who really want Darkwing Duck to suffer.

Megavolt will attempt to do the deed but will falter because he forgot what he is charging for or he will fail because of Darkwing Duck's heroism with Launchpad's help.

The Liquidator will attempt to take care of this problem himself by setting up a campaign against them by a hired proxy. Bringing up messy things that was done. Bringing up mental health history. Slandering them so no one believes them when the announcement is done.

It fails because of Darkwing Duck pulling an event about how the criminal or the threat has changed for the better.

The fearsome five will be in a state of despair that their goody two shoes isn't quite aware this entire targeting is for a very good reason and he just won't listen to them. He won't listen or is in denial about it and they can't pick which. Looking at him in disappointment that he's making the wrong choice all while he is so happy about it and smug.

They're looking at him like he's a dead man. Something that Launchpad notices and makes a comment of.

Quackerjack will brandish a shot gun after the fact, deciding to take one for the team, he's no psychopath, it's a hard decision to make but easy to carry out because in his words 'there's no fun without a playmate'. to do the deed himself when mulling it over with Mr Banana Brain. Without telling anyone else.

Darkwing Duck is the best thing that has happened to the city and he is the only duck that every supervillain apart from the fearsome five fights over. He is what the city needs.

Darkwing is considered the gold standard of treating supervillains as supervillains rather than clowns.

Quackerjack will enter the place of residence within the equivalent of a Amazon prime box, he will burst out, and do the deed successfully with 'IT'S PLAYTIME!'

Megavolt:

His parents loved him and were very supportive, and tried to find him when he disappeared from school

His favorite thing is his lightbulb collection

He likes videogames but will never play them when Quackerjack is around

He sleeps with the goggles on

Doesn't take much care of himself

He never came back home after the incident that gave him the powers because he forgot where his house was

He thought he liked girls until he went to high school and fell for another boy. Unfortunately he was rejected and he was heartbroken

Quackerjack:

He has Mr banana brain since he was a child and he was his only friend

He loves hugs and randomly squeezes Megavolt often

Megavolt is the only one of the fearsome five that has seen him without his jester costume. He is also the only one who Quackerjack told his real name to

He always brought Mr banana brain to school with him and his peers laughed at him for that

He still sleeps with his puppet and Megavolt is ok with that

He is very skilled at carving wooden toys

He believes toys have a soul and is sad whenever he see a broken toy

Do you remember that time Negaduck destroyed Mr. Banana Brain in the comics and Quackster was destroyed as well (emotionally)?

This was inspired by that. And jackie has always been a little broken.

I knew I wanted to draw Quackerjack as soon as I saw the prompt, I made another version first, but I didn't like it as much, but here it is if you are curious:

how did quackerjack felt when he first got into the city in Disney heroes battle mode, and what are the first people he meet there.

Considering that there was mentions of him in the flavor texts a few years before his debut as a playable character, I imagine that once he realized where he was, he quickly networked with other villains while locating the rest of the Fearsome, and just integrated into the society without a problem. He's mentioned pretty early into the storyline, with his one of his first sightings being that he was trying to steal rocket skates from Hiro.

This is probably why he was able to approach Oogie Boogie so casually once he got his own spotlight. Alternately, I imagine he was attending anger management classes with Megavolt and Fennick, which is probably how he met others outside of his circle. He's befriended Lock, Shock and Barrel, 22 and Slinky Dog. He's given the same rights as other citizens ((hero and villain)) in the City, and he's just trying to get home like everyone else.

I would like to note that, canonically speaking, this game takes place in an extention of "Ralph Breaks the Internet", so it's technically not the real QuackerJack, but a digital copy on the Disney Servers that was specifically modeled after the 1991 version of the character, so anything that was established after the source cartoon ended doesn't really apply.

Considering that he built a friendship with Slinky Dog to the point that he extended the offer of joining a bank heist, regularly participates in prank sessions with 22 and has Lock, Shock and Barrel as regular visitors to his workshop... It's safe to assume that he's generally well known there at this point in the narrative and he's relatively harmless save for some property damage, which is actually less than you'd expect because he takes a moment during the Slinky Dog Friend Mission to say that he would have easily leveled the Midway in Search of Mr. Banana Brain if he wasn't working on not losing his cool at every inconvenience. He also attempted to vandalize the Tron arcade without causing too much property damages and even expressed exasperation when Barrel threw a brick through the window.

Quackerjack headcanons:

• QJ and DW have this non-spoken agreement to never bring up Paddywhack or the events that happened with him ever again.

• This agreement was solidified by DW when him and Launchpad found a new shipment of toys from Duckburg raided the following day and only the jack-in-the-boxes were destroyed.

• DW didn’t mention QJ to the police about it, which is when QJ gained a higher respect for DW.

• QJ put Mr Banana Brain in a “timeout” for a week for betraying him, but this was just him trying to reasonably rationalize what had happened to him.

• To this day QJ won’t add glowing red lights to any of his toys because of his now deep seated paranoia of them.

• QJ has an engineering degree from before he started his company.

• QJ has ADHD.

• QJ loves DDR (dance, dance, revolution) because it involves a lot of movement.

• QJ has the top score on every DDR Machine in St Canard.

• Nobody dares tell QJ that DDR counts as a video game.

• QJ has a thorough understanding of how the brain works (psychology) thanks to his schemes in, “Days of Blunder”, and “Stressed to Kill”.

• QJ has gotten out of several arrests because of his understanding of psychology.

• The police are now under obligation to never listen to QJ whenever he’s arrested.

• QJ often hangs out with Megavolt whenever he’s not up to something.

• Whenever Megavolt has any sort of dessert in his kitchen QJ will steal some of it and claim that the toaster told him he could.

• QJ is incredibly thin because of his low access to food since most of his hideouts are underground and his ability to become too hyper focused on a project, resulting into him forgetting to eat now and then.

• QJ loves sharing his ideas to Megavolt and will take one of Megavolt’s ideas for a scheme and claim it was his.

Claire headcanons:

• Claire loves QJ’s sense of humor.

• Claire hates that she feels like she can’t fully trust QJ about telling him that she loves video games.

• Claire loves to go on walks.

• Claire finds all of QJ toys fascinating, even though she knows they’re all highly dangerous.

• Claire will knit whenever she gets anxious. A habit she got from her mother.

• Claire never calls QJ by Quackerjack. It’s always his real name or some type of nickname.

• Claire’s parents haven’t spoken to her since she told them that she was dating QJ. It’s something she hopes to fix one day and help them understand QJ for the new person he is now.

• Claire and QJ will sometimes get onto a subject that QJ has a lot of knowledge on and he will ramble on about it. She doesn’t always fully understand everything he says, but she loves hearing him talk about a subject so passionately.

• Claire loves horror movies.

• Claire has a neutral opinion on Darkwing Duck. She acknowledges him saving St Canard countless times, but finds him to be a very egotistical person.

• Claire knows about QJ’s fear of glowing, red lights but can’t get him to explain why.

Random Quackerjack Headcanons

He was abused and/or neglected as a kid. His only friend was Mr. Banana Brain which is why they’re always together. He pretended he was alive, which is why he’s so used to talking to him.

This man is touch starved. He never got affection as a kid. He also has no concept of personal space.

He knows how everyone likes to be hugged. He knows how tight, one or both arms, how long to hold on. But when he’s excited he just gives someone a really tight squeeze.

He had severe depression when he was in business, which is why he snapped when he went bankrupt.

Quackerjack studied mechanics and things like that, which is how he builds all these different toys.

Negaduck doesn’t always see his real purpose and regrets recruiting him. The others are too close to him to get rid of him so they’re stuck with the jester.

QJ makes up for his lack of powers with other skills. He’s inventive, resourceful, and also really acrobatic.

He never takes off the hat because he’s insecure about his identity. We never learn much about him. We never see his origin, learn his real name, or see his full face (other than when Paddywhack took him.) He lost himself when he went bankrupt, and wants no connection to his past.

His real name is Jackson Quackby or something.

Megavolt is fond of him for his eccentricity, inventiveness, and insanity. They match each other’s intensity like that.

Quackervolt is a left-brain/right-brain couple.

Bushroot likes him because he’s friendly in his own way. They’re both the emotional ones, so they’re more understanding and a little touchy.

Playthyme is the right brain pair and that’s chaotic but sweet and lovely.

Liquidator likes QJ for his cunning. He may be insane but he’s clever. Likki is also the sanest of the group so they balance out. Evil businessmen couple.

LiquiJack is the right-brain/left-brain couple.

QJ is bad with most kids but if he had his own, he’d be the kindest, most fun-loving dad ever.

He’s most homicidal when he’s cranky from lack of sleep.

Quackerjack was bullied for being short as a kid and suddenly sprouted to like nine feet tall in high school like seriously why is he so tall it freaks me out-

Quackerjack finds out someone has been making bootlegs of his Special Quackerjack brand toys and he is pissed

Morgana Macawber was having a really bad day.

She had been snatched from her home once again by Negaduck. She was tied to an uncomfortable chair. Her wrists and ankles were sore from her struggles against the rope. And now, a door was opening.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here." And there was Negaduck, stalking out of the shadows, sharp teeth bared to rip out her throat. "It's good to see you again, Morgs."

"I wish I could say the same, but the years of therapy-" Before she could continue, a loud scream cut her off. The sinister atmosphere disappeared as they stared at each other in confusion.

Then there was another scream, but this time she could make out the emotion.

It was pure rage.

"Quackerjack!" Negaduck snapped. "What are you doing, you idiot?!"

"THEY MADE KNOCKOFFS!" There was the sound of movement. "THEY MADE KNOCKOFFFFFFFSSSS!" There was the sound of squeaky shoes being put on.

Negaduck groaned before yelling "What are you doing?!"

There was another yell. "EITHER GOING OUT FOR ICE CREAM OR TO COMMIT A MURDER, MR. BANANA BRAIN AND I WILL DECIDE ON THE WAY!"

The slam of what must've been an outside door finished that conversation.
