100%. Portal 1 and 2 can be played independently from one another but I would recommend playing them both to see the full story created between the protagonist and antagonist. Portal 2 is just as much a masterpiece as 1 but the story has become more... relevant, unfortunately, than the original. Plus, Portal 2 has a fully fleshed out co-op mode than you can have a friend join, so thats fun.
Do you need to/is there some merit to playing portal 1 before portal 2. I only ever hear ppl talk about portal 2

Also on that note I am protecting so heavy but they are MY skrunkles I get to PROJECT.
Johnny's autistic. We all knew this. Bro can't shut up about his movies or cinema in general. History need, obviously. But also science nerd. He has a fucking PhD. I like to think he like went through so many kinds of science before he landed on Quantam Physics or Mechanics or what not. His second favorite to that was most definitely Astrophysics. Cris had to hear so goddamn much about the stars, and now Kenshi has to hear even more. Not that Kenshi minds.
[TW for Suicidal Ideation] Also. 100% Kenshi struggles with depression. I mean, his life is HARD. Being stuck in the Yakuza obviously takes such a toll on the man, but it's also the fact that he knows there is more out there for him and he can just barley reach it. Breaking into Johnny's damn mansion was a big step for him. I can't help but think he most definitely had days, weeks, or even months in thr Yakuza where he was just like "maybe this time I'm gonna do it." You can really see the ideation shine through in Shang Tsungs lab. I dunno. It's been on my mind recently and I don't see a lot of people talk about it. I think most people read it as the whole "I'm weak leave me behind" cliche. But I seriously think it's something more than that. I don't think that Kenshi is like insecure about being blind, I really do think he takes it in stride. Nor do I think he's insecure about being a former Yakuza. Maybe a little bit, I'm like 90% sure he's a little bit too conscious of his tattoos. But he knows what he's done, and he's resentful. Not insecure. Kenshi's the kind of guy who constantly wonders what's next for him, and I think when he gets hit with such a blow like getting blinded, those are the times where he kind of remembers his place and he has those kms moments. He also definitely has some depressive episodes, and they never really center around anything. They just kind of happen. ANYWAYS...

Okay so just a quick theory on how we might team up with each of the harbingers/how they will be playable.
Unlike Hoyo's other games, namely Honkai Star Rail and Honkai Impact 3rd, the characters in Genshin seem to have the need of two things currently - being alive, and being on 'good' terms with the Traveler. And of course being able to control elemental energy.
In order,
Pierro - unlikely to be playable imo, but if so we'd team up to take down celestia and likely convince him to be better in the future / maybe see eye to eye (haha pun)
Capitano - also feel unlikely to be playable (due to mask + rank + build) but am personally hoping he's playable. but likely a mutual understanding via honor / natlan abyss expansion or smth he is released at the same time and works with us in this expedition.
Dottore - unlikely dottore dottore is playable. feel like he'd get a super satisfying death scene w/ collei/diluc/scara/arle involved somehow. most likely diluc imo. but i think one of his segements will be playable, and will be one that defects from the rest and betrays them, more likely a younger segment.
Columbina - unlikely to be playable for a while, but if so i hope she doesn't have one of the seven elements in teyvat and has like a light/imaginary/dark/quantam element, or is pure physical damage somehow. I do think she will be playable, but maybe in later patches of natlan, likely to be very strange and off putting but perhaps never directly against us or for us? maybe also linked to a potential abyssal or dark sea region?
(if hoyo does release both capitano and columbina in the same patch i will cry.)
Arlecchino - Acquired. Will likely have future content in Snezhnaya/Khaenri'ah bcuz of foreshadowing. Also hoping to get more HOTH members in the future.
Pulcinella - feel like he'd be unlikely to be playable, but he also was in the travail trailer. can't imagine him getting along w traveler too well mainly cuz of his actions w the chasm, scara's line, arle's line, n what we've seen of him so far. but maybe, common interest would make him come to our side? he seems very rational - to the point of not being sympathetic at all imo, so maybe?
Scaramouche - Acquired, obv. Hopefully will have more development/roles in the future especially against the fatui. I want to find out if they had some way to bypass the irminsul deletion of his existence.
Sandrone - Okay, going out on a limb here real quick (its not quick). Bcuz all of the Fatui Harbinger's secondary titles (in this case, the marionette) Sandrone is not the feminine looking doll, but rather someone piloting the mech. Imo I think Sandrone is Alain Guillotine who is inside the ruin guard like mech and who made the kathryne's and the doll the mech carries around. I think this also lines up w Childe's voice line of Sandrone bcuz Alain Guillotine is envious of his relationship w his siblings since they are alive (unlike Mary Ann, who looks a suspiciously lot like the doll) and I think Sandrone aka Alain wont be playable but the Doll/Mary Ann will be and her story will be one of her breaking free of Sandrone. Maybe. This could also line up with Scara and Arle's VO's cuz it's stated Sandrone doesn't talk much/isn't really open so I think it is possible they don't know that Sandrone is actually not the doll but the man inside the mech or smth. I have more to this theory, but I might do this later.
Sandrone TLDR - Sandrone Marionette playable, the feminine doll, not the mech. Maybe mech in her attacks, but not the actually character.
La Signora - Look I'm a La Signora hopium believer, have been since the minute she died in 2021 - only way for her to be playable is for her to have a redesign and resurrection in natlan. 🙏 I'm not religious but I am praying for this. To any god who will listen. If not maybe when we 'reweave the threads of all fate' or whatever, we will get the chance to go back in time/partner with her. Maybe we will go back in time to the actual cataclysm - and actually wait there is the pierro and possible capitano connection too.
Pantalone - Due to popularity and build I want to say I feel like he'll be playable. Don't think he's loyal to the Fatui, very much leaning toward him being loyal to himself. Don't think he'd get a vision though, so I'm not sure. Maybe he'll be one who canonically uses a delusion/recieves a vision on screen/or even modified his body w Dottore's help to make him able to use elemental powers. I'd say either Geo or Hydro if so. Geo just fits idk man. As for him partnering with the traveler, I could see it being in snezhnaya as a way to take down the fatui, maybe he will partner w the HOTH or smth and put full support there. Idk he kinda gives me Adventurine vibes w in terms of gambling to get a win. Esp since every voice line mentions he's very ambitious, and arle said he isn't very rational.
Tenth Seat - Currently unknown and being theorized on. Imo most likely to be either a hexenzirkle member, previous seat of our sibling (with the name innamorati, while traditionally as lovers, in this case perhaps referring to platonic love for sibling? or the usual irony in that not loving romantically? so love but not love.) or the Tsaritsa going undercover as the 'Tenth Fatui Harbinger' and still being the Lover since she is pretty likely to be the Goddess of Love.
Tartaglia - Literally came in 1.1, will continue to be relevant in Snezhnaya. His second story quest will feature his family and be all cutesy in the beginning then bring area of the abyss connected to Snezhnaya, maybe. See Skirk too, maybe? Leads into her story quest and event with the region similar to Albedo and Dragonspine events? Maybe Skirk will be released with Hurricane Torilla's second story quest?
Anyway those are some of my convoluted thoughts, gotta go and get ready for work, any comments/reblogs/tags are appreciated bcuz i'd love hear other people's thoughts for future genshin lore theories/speculation.

Y'know how futuristic science fiction stories sometimes just state that scientists just solved one of science's mysteries or one of the eorld's greatest problems as an explanation for how their society got to where it is?
Give me a science fiction story where scientists manage to define both the momentum and the location of small particles (aka completly breaking the Heinsberg Uncertainty Principle and what we know of quatam physics). It is mentioned off handedly once to describe how teleportation and all other sorts of futuristic technology came to be.
I guess it does kinda make sense. If we could predict the momentum and the location of particles, maybe we could more accuratly not only predict where they will go, but how to move particles to specific spots.
In reality that would all be psyuedoscience but who cares, it is a chance for technobabble about someone trying to nonchalantly describe solving quantam phyics.
Context for this post: Its 2 am and I was reading one of my assigned physics chapters about the very basics of quantum physics (sleep is for the sane)

Lance presses his chin against his folded arms, warily looking up at Hunk in the chair. He means to ask about what Coran meant by the whole universe-saving-thing, or maybe even to ask about what a castle of a lion is. Maybe he means to ask about how they all seemed to end up here together, wherever here really was, but Lance finds different words on his tongue, rolling from his mouth before he can stop them.
“Who is Keith?”
Hunk looks surprised by that question, as if it was the last thing he expected to hear. “Keith?” He repeats, for verification, and Lance hesitates before nodding. Hunk leans back in his chair and watches Lance carefully. “He’s, uh, well, he was a part of our team for a long time, but he joined a group about a year ago called the Blade of Marmora, who are allies of ours.”
Lance glances down to the mattress beneath him, curling his toes under the sheet and holding onto his knees tighter.
“You and Keith bickered a lot,” Hunk supplies after a moment, his voice slow and low. “Do you...do you remember him, or something?”
The word Keith is entirely unfamiliar. Entirely. When Hunk had said it earlier, it was like hearing the name for the first time, speaking it into this new existence where nothing made sense. Lance thinks for a moment and there’s not even a shadow, not even the smallest inkling. He can’t picture at all what Keith might look like or how he might sound or what they apparently used to fight about. There is nothing before that sudden burst of red light that had greeted him when he woke up.
And yet, hearing it now, puts a weight in his stomach that he hadn’t felt before. Heavy, dense. Something he can’t put a name to, something that makes him ache, makes his throat feel tight and his eyes feel hot.
“No,” Lance murmurs, staring hard at the white sheet below, and he wonders if he’d ever lied about Keith before.

Book Review i guess
Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea by Charles Seife
okay, this book surprised me. I've read A History of Pi, so I know math books about a number can be good.
but zero is special for numbers, after all. so this book talks a bit about the invention? discovery? of zero, then quickly moves onto it's theme.
the repeated either trying to avoid zero in math, because it sorta breaks things, or people using zero and it really advancing their math and science
and then it started talking about quantam mechanics, and well now i want to read more about quantam mechanics.
also the prose for a non-fiction math book?
sometimes surprisingly impactful

in defense of Din’s subdued reaction to losing the kid...
Tumblr media
gif by @quantam-widow
I know we were all thinking it. We got a 2 second reaction shot to the destruction of the Razor Crest (may she forever rest in peace), but then, Grogu gets taken, and... nothing?
What the fuck, Din? we all protest. That’s your baby on that ship! Don’t you care? Scream, curse, kick a rock, cry, make a fist, something!!
I will acknowledge that so far, the show has been excellent with giving us emotional payoff, am I right? I mean, just today we got Din laughing, twice. Twice in a row. I honestly never thought we’d see that. There have been so many excellent, precious soft!Din moments this season, and they all feel deliciously earned.
So, from a meta POV, I guess I’m saying that I have faith in the writers to get it right, and in Pedro to deliver. Duh.
In universe, though, I think it’s fair to point out the obvious - that Din is a pretty reserved guy. He’s much more of a thinker than a feeler. He’s used to keeping things bottled up, and I would even argue that his life often depends on his ability to dissociate from his emotions. Din’s entire journey so far has been about how one little baby yodito shakes his worldview to its very foundations. He’s getting there, but it’s a slow process.
And also, consider this - we haven’t seen Din alone yet, not since Grogu was taken. For a guy who lives a guarded life literally encased in fucking armor, any display of emotion is going to be carefully protected until he’s in private.
But anyway, Din is detached, rational, a little emotionally constipated, and definitely comfortable in a stressful situation. A true ISTP if you ask me (yeah, I know you didn’t, but whatever). Often, it seems that these cool headed, logical types who have never ruffled a feather over anything in their lives are the least adept at handling genuine fear. In other words, when panic does strike, it strikes them hard.
And guys, Din was definitely panicking during this episode.
He’s clearly unsettled from the jump - that outburst of “dank farrik!” in the cockpit sells it, and his distress only becomes more obvious from there. Talking out loud, trying to convince himself that the best thing for Grogu is for him to be trained as a Jedi. Reminding himself of the creed. His overt caution as they approach the seeing stone. His impatience, “Are you seeing anything??”
Then there’s the effects of long term stress. Sure, a bounty hunter in the outer rim doesn’t exactly live an easy life, but Din is definitely used to the drama being on his terms. Compare Din’s body language in the opening scene of season one to when Boba confronts him in chapter fourteen. You can just feel the anxiety, the weariness, the frustration. Din has been on the run for months now, constantly looking over his shoulder, sleeping with one eye open. Notice how he even startles at Fennec’s voice? Season one Din would never have given that much away, regardless of the situation. Long term stress has clearly taken a toll on him.
So we have unsettled, stressed out Din in an emotionally charged situation. He’s exhausted, he’s scared, he’s desperate. This scenario is a recipe for even the most level-headed of adrenaline junkies to loose their cool, and that’s exactly what happens to Din. He panics, and he makes some pretty big fuckups because of it. Leaving Grogu unprotected, twice. Trying three different times to break through that “force field,” even when he knew he couldn’t. Dropping that jetpack and then just forgetting about it (I know we were all screaming about that one, or at least, I was).
So, fear is a positive feedback loop. Those neurotransmitters that do us good in a bad situation - raising heart rate, narrowing focus, shunting blood to the muscles - can also be detrimental if we get too high of a dose - tachypnea and tachycardia, inability to think critically and see the big picture, lack of blood and oxygen to the brain. Epinephrine, in particular, even inhibits the laying down of new memory pathways. In other words, stress leads to poor performance, and poor performance leads to more stress, which leads to... you get the idea.
Then, in the middle of all this chaos, they fucking blast the Razor Crest.
More epinephrine, more cortisol, more stress.
By the end of it all, Din is a fucking shitstorm of stress hormones and pent up emotions. Notice how he seems to be on autopilot in the immediate aftermath, robotically scanning the ashes of the Crest for anything that might be left intact. Notice how empty his voice is when he says, “the child is gone.” This is a dead man walking. Din has nothing left. His whole life has just gone up in smoke, and he can do nothing about it.
Guys, Din is holding onto his sanity by a fucking thread in this scene. “The child is gone,” he says, like he’s reminding himself, grounding himself in his shitty reality. He’s stunned.
And helpless. There’s literally nothing he can do for Grogu. He has no ship, no credits, no resources, nothing to bargain with, nothing to offer. Din literally cannot allow himself the luxury of feelings right now. He’s just got to focus on surviving this very shitty day.
Then, Boba Fett upholds his end of the deal, and suddenly, Din has something to hold onto. An ally, a badass friend, some hope. I don’t think Boba shows Din that chain code in order to verify his claim on the armor - he’s already wearing it, for godssake. I think Boba shows him the code in order to catch Din’s attention - hey friend, I know you’re hurting, but I’m a man of my word. When I make a vow, I keep it. Let’s regroup and go find your kid.
And Din would totally latch onto that. A fighting chance? Din fucking leaps at it. There’s a job to do. A kid to save. All of those stress hormones are going to keep on stewing, because Din has never really come down from his adrenaline high.
It’s like this in real life, too. There isn’t time to be afraid. There isn’t time to be sad, or second-guess, or say, oh how terrible, or wonder what if it doesn’t work? There’s just you and the job, and if you are the only thing standing between life and death, you will put everything else aside and do what you have to do, for as long as you have to do it.
And that’s where Din is at this moment. He’s running on the fumes of his adrenaline, all tempered focus, all strategy and no bullshit.
Emotional shock, my therapist buddy calls it. Apparently, it’s normal. Expected, even.
But guys, the fallout of this kind of crazy ass adrenaline high is insanely intense. I’m talking collapse to the floor, legs won't hold you, trembling, crying so hard you sling snot, shuddering breaths, stare dead-eyed and spent at the ceiling because you’re just too wiped out to even sleep kind of intense.
And then, after the breakdown comes the angst. The detailed thinking. The oh god, what if this had happened, or, should I have done that instead? It seems like every emotion that gets put on the back burner in the moment comes back to bite you with twofold intensity when all is said and done.
In other words, Din is definitely going to feels some things .A lot of very intense things. A reckoning is coming, my dudes. Trust me. It’s just not quite here yet.
That being said, here’s what I can expect from Din going forward:
Just like he’s is slow to acknowledge his growing parental feelings for Grogu, I think Din’s going to be slow at processing his grief at Grogu’s loss. In the next episode, he’s got plenty to distract him - getting together his hit team to take back the kid and coordinating an attack on the empire.
However, I do think we’ll get a slow moment with Din, probably sometime at the beginning of next week’s episode if the pattern holds. I doubt it’s the full-blown breakdown that we’re all needing, but I’m willing to bet money that we’ll see Din grappling with the fact that his kid is gone. I also think that badass beskar murder machine Din from chapter three will resurface. Stress and desperation make us do irrational things, and anger is one of the stages of grief that Din will inevitably have to work through (I think he’s flickering between denial and bargaining for now).
But then, after Din gets Grogu back? I think that’s we’ll have our big, dearly earned emotional payoff.
For one thing, Din won’t be able to deny his feelings anymore. He wants to keep this kid, it’s so very obvious. Losing him just forces it all to the forefront.
And then the relief/joy/regret/guilt that Din is going to feel once he’s got Grogu back? Not to mention the physical exhaustion? All of the fear/terror/angst/grief that he ignored in favor of just going pedal to the metal, guns blazing, get the kid or die trying? That shit’s going to crash into him with all the subtly of a fucking tsunami. I guarantee you, we’re going to get some sort of confession, or adoption vow, or face revel, or other sort of profound softness from Dad!Din in the falling action of this season (At least, I hope we get it at the end this season but I wouldn’t put it past them to kick it into the premier of season three, just for pacing reasons, but then again, I obviously have trust issues).
Personally, I would love to see Din grappling with the long-term fallout of losing Grogu - night terrors, guilt, paranoia, etc. That’s probably the stuff of fanfiction - mandalorians don't have nightmares on screen, surely - but still, some lingering effects Grogu’s kidnapping would be realistic, and I would absolutely live for it.

THE WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON 1973 on The Schlocky Horror Picture show
OPENING: Hello, good evening, and welcome to the Schlocky Horror Picture Show. I'm your host, Nigel Honeybone.  What happens when the President of the United States of Amercia is a dumb ass hick who has a sub human sociopathatic murderous flesh eating creature writing his speeches? But Thankfully we don't have  George W Bush in power anymore. Tonight we turn to the Dog eat Dog world of politics and the occult to find out what happens when good journalism goes bad "WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON"……
BREAK: Nooo!!, The acting, the evil messages, the subliminal messages, the Darkness preparing to invade my soul…..And then after the add break, more of the WEREWOLF OF WASHINGTON on the SCHLOCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW.
MIDDLE: Welcome back to the Schlocky Horror Picture Show and frankly I'm surprised you came back. At all… Hi'ya .(WAVING)  What I was going to talk bout was the annoying plotless plot device of narrating half the movie before the movie even begins. Talk about Spoilers!, but I've changed my mind. Hey whats a skeleton to do.?  I Am going to talk about what I LIKE in his movie,  and that begins with the  Director, Writer, Producer and Editor Milton Moses Ginsberg who may have done his best work with Meatloaf's "To Hell and Back" but  here his clear homage to the 1941 Lon Chaney Jr classic THE WOLF MAN is obvious. Actually that's the ONLY thing I like in this movie.  It's perhaps the only film in which the word "pentagram" is repeatedly mistaken for "the Pentagon. There are a lot of laughs in this movie. Some of them might even be intentional. Hard to tell...it IS, after all, a cheap and poorly edited piece of work. But surprisingly, the acting is decent in parts. Of course then theres  Dean Stockwell as our Anti-hero Jack Whittier. Frankly I'm surprised he even got  to "Battlestar Gallactica",and "Quantam Leap" with this on his resume. I guess This must be his penance for "Dunwich Horror" in 1970. He should have learned from it and not even gone near "Dunwich Horror 2008". I suspect working with Stockwell is why  Katalin Kallay has never worked again. It's a pit. As Hungarian Translators go, she was a hottie.   Jane House who plays the Presidents sexy daughter so sublimely in this, is best know for her role Liz Talbot  in "As the World Turns"  while Biff Mcguire as the Smarmy Nixonesque President is delightfully ripe and moved onto "Search for Tomorrow".  Fortunately, the game cast come through with some very over the top performances. Clifton James as an oily, huffy attorney, Thayer David as a ramrod police inspector James Tolkan as a shady fed in sunglasses are a total blast to watch.   Michael Dunn is my favourite midget.  With  IQ of 178 and and a couple of Tony Award nominations here he is playing  the completely un-nessecary as far as I can tell,  Dr Kiss in an obvious reference to his more famous role...that of Dr. Loveless on TV's WILD WILD WEST. I'm told he was often frustrated by his lack of big roles although a photograph of Dunn in his role as Mr. Big appears during the opening credits of the 2008 version of Get Smart. But that would be be-littling him. There are some great scenes comeing uo so dont go to far because now we return to  1973 Classic, Werewolf of  Washingtion
CLOSING: So there you have it. The WORST time lapse job since visage did FADE TO GREY. Who could have possibly guessed everyone in the White House from the President on down are sleazebags.  I'm Shocked! If you look it's really not hard to see that it's a Watergate satire. Well he does live in the Watergate hotel. "Werewold of Washington" was released a few months before Nixon finally caved in & resigned the presidency. It was hastily written & produced as a timely comedy & probably a great surprise to everyone involved that the film is still around. I particularly lobeed the bit  when a well-fed Cracker-American tries to pin one of Stockwell's murders on witness who angrily says, "It was a werewolf, you racist pig!" It is funny that scene never made it into the annuals of Horror movie history. If this movie had to have a message I guess it would be " If someone tells you he's a bloodthirsty werewolf who should be locked up before he kills again, believe him.!" Actually, that's the timeless message of pretty much every werewolf movie, so until next we meet, Toodles!

“The shift to additive manufacturing at scale will require continuous innovation in the ways a digital intent becomes a physical part,” said Ryan Palmer, Head of Software and Data, 3D Printing at HP. “Dyndrite is pushing boundaries in areas that can expand the possibilities of additive manufacturing. HP is pleased to announce its involvement on the Dyndrite Developer Council and we look forward to working with other members in exploring new applications for this technology.”
NVIDIA
“For 30 years, CAD/CAM developers have relied on outdated and slow-performing CPU-based geometry kernels,” said Brian Harrison, Director, Advanced Products, NVIDIA. “We’ve worked with Dyndrite to optimize their native GPU-based geometry kernel so customers can have a modern, GPU-based platform that advances design and manufacturing production for today’s complex use cases.”
Plural Additive Manufacturing
“Dyndrite has been an excellent, early development partner,” said Doug Dingus, Director of Product and Technology, Plural AM. “We worked together on basic technology understanding, potential use cases, and opportunities for mutual development.  This process has been lean and high value.  We look forward to this next year developing additive solutions in tandem with Dyndrite.”
Renishaw
“We have been really impressed by Dyndrite in their efforts to develop a ground-breaking, GPU based geometry kernel,” said Stephen Anderson, Additive Manufacturing Business Development Manager at Renishaw, Inc. “We are keen to see such technologies introduced into additive manufacturing to further empower users in novel design, where greater power is required to handle complexity effectively. As a leading manufacturer of 3D Powder Bed Fusion Metal printers and QuantAM build preparation software, we look forward to now partnering with Dyndrite and our customers to make game-changing parts.”

The result should be fewer extensions breaking in the long run, but to make this possible, Mozilla needed to abandon the old extension ecosystem. The change also makes some of Quantam's best features possible. The multi process capability, for example, is a big part of Firefox Quantam's speed boost.
