Sometimes I start to get ready for the gym - including getting my mascara on - and I think of all the people who say about others “why do they get dolled up if they’re just going to sweat it off anyway?” or “they’re not really here to work out because they did their make up and that’s silly” etc.

Why do I put make up on before the gym? Today I did it because it makes me feel more confident. When I feel more confident, I work harder. When I work harder, I feel stronger. When I feel stronger, I feel unstoppable.

You don’t know why someone is wearing make up to the gym. Maybe it’s the same reason that I do. Maybe they’re on their lunch break and this is the time of day they can make it to the gym. Maybe they just got DONE with work and work had an important meeting. Or maybe they just wanted to.

Do your own thing, wear make up or don’t, and don’t worry about what others are doing. We’re all here for the same purpose, aren’t we? So let’s build each other up instead of judging and bringing down.
