@scandalocious asked: “Sounds insane and not doable.” / quinn @ rachel abt restarting the glee club
Tis the final week before school starts and Mrs. St. James has been disgustingly optimistic about it. A break from New York was much needed after winning a Tony had gotten to her head so much that she'd almost forgotten her roots. A return to McKinley was just what she needed, some time off to remind her of what really matters ... plus, she'd heard from some old friends that the Glee club had been no more for the last few years, and she intended to change that. All the future Rachel Berry's of the world needed that club -- she could be their Barbra Streisand. But, in this very week before classes officially start, Rachel finds herself head to head once more with none other than Quinn Fabray -- old habits die hard. "What? Of course it's doable! I mean, remember when Mr. Schue resurrected the club? It seemed insane and not doable then, too, especially with Coach Sylvester constantly sabotaging us -- but we managed! I see no reason why it should be any different now." Besides, it should be a million times easier with a Tony winner heading the club -- no offense, Schuester. "Glee club made a difference for you, and for me, and for everyone who has ever sat in that choir room after us. You can't deny that, Quinn. And you can't deny the future of McKinley High that chance, either."

Sterling sighs, reaching up to massage his brow bone. “Okay then. If you’re really sure… Because I don’t want to accidentally ruin things for you. That would make me feel like absolute shit.” Katie’s compliments are well-meaning and sweet but they bounce off of him without leaving even the slightest of dents in his conviction. Though he does bark out a laugh when she notes that they know nearly nothing about him. “Oh, wow, how sweet of you,” he drawls out, tone almost monotonous even though the mirth in his eyes gives away the fact that he’s teasing her. “You say that because if they did know more about me, they would probably be very disappointed and forbid you to marry me? I see…” It’s almost cute the way she rambles and worries about him getting weirded out. In all honesty, after a whole lifetime with his family and everything they did, it was almost impossible for Sterling to think that anything is weird. He’d grown relatively desensitized. Katie making up a whole boyfriend for her family and asking him to pose as that person? Unusual, sure, but he didn’t think it made her weird. She was just his Katie. “Okay. Hold on. Can you repeat all of that?” He brings out his notes app, typing in the last details she’s just told him about the ring, before glancing back up at her. “I’ll just write it down for future reference. So we can keep our story straight. Because I will forget. But I say yes. Let’s go shopping together. I want to get you something that you’re actually going to like looking at.”
part of it was easier since they had already been friends. katie had always been an open book with her family, but as each one of them were planning their own weddings and starting their own families - it left katie feeling like she needed to step up her own game. she had always been scared of commitment - especially after what happened with her own parents. she didn't want to end up in a loveless marriage. how much harm could be done with pretending to be engaged to a friend?
"of course i want it to be you," katie spoke, a small smile playing along her lips. "we're friends, it's not like you're a random stranger that i asked. i think you're well equipped for the job," she finished, waving off his comment about not being marriage material. "you're marriage material, sterling. don't get me started on that. one good thing is that they don't know much about who you are," katie shook her head lightly. "i mean... i didn't tell them any detail specific about you or your life outside of what our relationship was, to them. god, this is going to make me sound so incredibly... weird. i promise i don't normally do this to people. especially friends. anyways," she took a small breath before rambling on. "our first date was at the local animal shelter. before dinner, we decided that it would be best to volunteer some time with some animals, taking them for walks and spending time with them. oh, my ring size is a seven. i prefer the pear shaped rings. i can go with you, if you'd like."

So I wrote this last night while wondering if things could have turned out differently if James Potters parents had survived. It evolved in a way I didn't expect (Euphemia Potter, where have you been hiding?) It's not finished either, but here is what I have so far...
They lived
When Fleamont Potter first felt the stirrings of pain, deep in his chest-he ignored it. He was no healer, and it was to be expected in his age after all. He ignored it when he felt it flutter through his spine, passed it off as a working hazard when he felt a pang in his knees. (He shouldn’t have been fiddling with that old cauldron anyways).
But when his wife said to him, almost idly at the fireside-
“Will you remind me to owl Healer Robbins in the morning? I had a strange pain in my shoulder earlier, and it doesn’t seem to have gone away just yet.”
Fleamont looked at his wife, her hands quick and nimble as they laced glimmering threads through soft fabric. He looked at his wife, and saw his life’s love before him. He saw the dark eyes that had drawn him to her, the sharp wit of her tongue and the power and grace he knew not. He saw beyond her greying hair and the fine lines that told stories of their joy, and saw the life they had built. The garden they had cultivated, the business that had flourished beneath their feet, the son who had his mothers eyes as well as her spirit, her spark, her joy.
Fleamont looked at his wife, his partner and knew that the world would be just that dimmer without her.
“Actually dear, I think we should owl them tonight.”
Their young son, his dark head of hair ducking under the mantle as he arrived, joined them at St. Mungos, his glowing wife at his side, her fingers weaving knots into her robes. James paled as he watched the Healers gather around the ones who had given him life, and he rushed to call his brother to his side, their dark heads bowed together as they sat in the crowded little waiting room.
So Fleamont saved his wife, but he died that Thursday afternoon with his little family gathered at his bedside, his last act of love surviving without him.
Lily Potter may have danced with her new father-in-law at her wedding, his beaming smile as bright as the candles flickering around them but it was to her husband's mother, alone, that she passed her newborn baby to.
Harry Fleamont Potter felt a fitting tribute, and James was sure he wasn’t imagining the tears sparkling in his mothers eyes.
Harry learned to walk through his grandmother's begonias, the ones that, in another life he may have walked towards his namesake. Or in another life, he would not know existed at all.
When the war which had brewed around them throughout their adolescence came knocking at their door, James cloistered his young family into Godric's Hollow, leaving his mother alone at the Manor where he had frolicked and grown and on one fine summer's day wed his now targeted wife.
James did not apologise to his mother as he kissed her goodbye. He didn't need to.
Her second son, the one whose hair was as Black as his name, as black as the scorch mark his birth mother had left in his wake, loped through the wards every few days. Neither of them dared voice the hope, that courageous flighty thing that had found a home within their chests as they sipped their tea, watching sunsets that should have been savoured.
But they did dare to hope, they dared to trust. And James Potter, who may have his mothers eyes and her spirit, also had his fathers unwavering loyalty. He trusted the wrong man.
(and their protection fell, shocks of green light rang through the air, and a boy who had found love and joy in the presence of his first friend, found his worst nightmare come to life instead as he rushed through the air on a motorbike he would soon hand away).
And the dog chased the rat, and the rat knew how to disappear when all the dog knew how to do was grieve.
Fleamont’s last act of devotion didn’t change the fact that Euphemia woke up on November 1st with an intrinsic feeling of dread. When she opened the door she wasn’t faced with a scarred orphan as a shrieking Petunia Dursley was three counties over, but with the weary and regretful eyes of the men in red robes who had come to symbolise loss in their world.
Euphemia managed to hold it together, her head held high until they used the words ‘Death Eater’ and ‘Sirius Black’ in the same sentence. Only then did she start to laugh, that horrible haunting laugh that only Blacks could. For Euphemia may have looked like her mother who had grown up across the world, but she was still a Black.
The two men, who had expected a feeble old woman and had gotten a glimpse of true Black madness did not think to question her when she demanded an escort to the Ministry. For her dear, kind son and his brave and bright wife would have to wait, their bodies still and cool as they would be for eternity, for it was her second son who needed her now. Her second son who sat in a stone cell and had cried himself to sleep.
For all that Remus-scarred, sweet, lonely and heartbroken-thought it was Sirius still, Euphemia knew her son. She knew he couldn’t be responsible for this. She also knew the look in a boy’s eyes when envy and greed had made its way deep into his heart, and she had seen it on Peter Pettigrew’s face one too many times to be as trusting as her dearly departed son.
With the power of her husband's name and his wealth she bullied an unsuspecting Barty Crouch into a trial the very next day, where a relieved Remus sat beside her, shaking while she was still. Later Sirius had wept apologies into her cloak, his regret tangible and as dark as his hatred for the man he had once called a brother.
Sirius did not spend his 22nd birthday as he had planned, holed up with three Potters, being plied with cake and butterbeer, but he spent it screaming at the man he had once called a leader, at the man whose heart may have been heavy with regret, but whose hands still meddled in places he ought not to touch.
The day after they gathered in Godric’s Hollow and watched a pair of twin coffins lowered into the fresh earth.
(While miles away, Harry cried for his mother and wondered why this woman who did not resemble anyone he knew had hands as sharp as her beady eyes).
Euphemia had saved her son from twelve years in Azkaban, but that did not mean she was going to leave the precious boy that had somehow survived, her husband's namesake, with a woman who had hated her own sister nearly as much as she had once loved her.
Euphemia hadn’t expected Dumbledore to interfere.
Dumbledore had expected Euphemia to acquiesce once he had explained with words like blood protection, and love sickly sweet on his tongue.
But she did not.
Perhaps, in another world-one where Fleamont survived the night that his dear wife did, this would have played out differently. Quieter perhaps.
But Euphemia was different from Monty. She had grown up having to hold her head up, high, above the snickers and the stares and the comments. She had grown up between two worlds; not white enough, not dark enough. Having to make space for herself in a world that did not know what to do with her.
When she first visited her family in India it wasn’t the overwhelming feeling of joy, she had expected, but rather a deep, dark loss in her soul. A wanting, a longing, a missing she would never truly understand. The colours were just as vivid, the smells just as enchanting, the sounds, the streets filled with life. But Mia had grown up across the world, where she’d had to learn to pronounce her r’s just so, how to preen, and dress and and hide so much of herself away that she’d never really found it again. Mia had grown up with a mother who was just as much a British citizen as everyone else around them, but different in a way they would never understand.
(It was only when she met a man with eyes as deep as the ocean, and a smile that made her feel like she could soar did she feel she was coming out of the seams. Bit by painstaking bit).
So yes, Monty, with his lineage and his old money and his class wouldn’t have dared, his fight would have taken place quietly, behind the scenes, where there was no fuss, no ruckus.
But Monty wasn’t here anymore, and Mia had spent her life being quiet.
So she raged, and stormed and threw herself into a battle with the most powerful man in Wizarding Britain. She argued her way through the courts, through countless politicians, secretaries and bureaucrats who she had spent her life kowtowing to when she was nothing but an immigrant's daughter with no power they could understand.
And she won.
The snow had just begun to stick, and the lights were up in the neighbors windows when her grandson finally came home to her, with a trembling lip and a scarred forehead.
Euphemia Potter held him close - his hair smelt just like James had, when he was little, when her entire world could fit in her arms-and then passed him to her other son. The one who hadn’t been born from her, but who she loved just the same.
They’d both had something taken from them, something ripped away with a cold curse and a flash of light, and she knew that only they could understand each other now. So Mia stayed in her opulent and empty house, and Sirius settled in the South Wing at the room that had always been his, his godson slumbering safely in his arms.
That first Christmas was as dark as the words carved into stone back in Godric's Hollow. Two men who had to learn to trust each other again and a woman who many had expected to break by now. Only Harry’s laugh, his smile, his sparkling eyes could light up their bleak and unforgiving day.
So Harry forgot the mean, cold woman who stared at him like something she would rather forget, and spent the spring with his grandmother as she planted flowers, her fingers quick and nimble as they had always been. He spent it with his godfathers-both of them-while one suffered each month as he always had, but whose love for Harry never wavered, and the other finally grew up.
For in this world Sirius Black did not wile away his years counting his regrets as he counted the bars on his cells. In this world he strategised, he built battle plans with the same fervour and determination he might have used to sliver between those bars as a shaggy, black dog. He focused on wiping out the forces that had taken so much of the light from their world.
But he did not do this alone. For in losing one brother, he had gained another back.
Regulus Black did not go to die in the cave that dark day in October of 1979. He would still be brave, and fierce, and full of righteous anger, but he did not die alone and afraid. Regulus Black had been in St. Mungos that summer, regretfully rejecting his prized and hard worked offer of a place as a Healer.
Regulus Black had been there. He had seen his brother-the one who he missed as much as Petunia Evans missed her own sister-pale and weary with grief. He had seen him stumble in the corridor from Fleamont Potters room, the loss deeply etched in his face.
Grief is the price we pay for love.
Regulus had watched his brother, and wondered if perhap there were things worth living for-as much as they were worth dying for.
So despite what his mother, and the Dark Lord, and about every other Black relative wanted him to do-A Healer? How plebian. Regulus Black did what he had always yearned to, and was brave. He tore the rejection letter from the secretaries fist, and asked, with a weak attempt at his brothers bravado;
“What day do I start?”
So Regulus had taken a different path, a path that was still hard-for the road to hell was still paved with good intentions.
Regulus stood with his head held high above the looks and snide comments-from both his Death Eater cohorts and his fellow trainees. But the Dark Lord could not touch him, could not stray him from this path, for the vow that was taken on his first day of orientation had sworn him to the Healing service, and even Tom Riddle knew some vows could not be broken.
Regulus Black had taken a different path (though the knowledge of the Horcrux and the unrelenting question of what/when/how still lingered) and was finishing up his rotation in the children’s ward when his long lost brother rushed in, a feverish child in his arms, and panic wreaking havoc in his young face.
“Please, I don’t know what’s wrong-I-I, he wouldn’t eat, and now he’s warm, too warm, and I-”
“Hand him to me.”
And Sirius had passed over the child he thought of as a son to a man he didn’t recognise and saw a boy he had once known.
“I-Reggie-?”
But Regulus had always been good at his job. Even the other trainees, who glowered at him through the corridors as they once had in Hogwarts could not deny this. Regulus saw the brother whose approval he had always craved, but he did not think of it now. Regulus only looked at the child who lay shivering before him, and set to work.
Dragon Pox may have taken Fleamont Potter, but Regulus Black’s quick mind and steady hands ensured that his namesake did not follow in this regard. Sirius had cried tears of relief, and Remus had shaken Regulus’ hand so hard it felt bruised.
By now Harry had spent as much time without his parents as he had with them, and his loss would have taken his family to a place they could not return
Once Harry had settled, Mia Potter at his bedside and Remus Lupin fetching the blanket that Harry reached for every night, did the two brothers talk.
They spoke of nothing that had lingered deep in their minds, and their hearts in the years since the older one had departed.
“A Healer, huh?” Sirius Black tried to hide his surprise.
Regulus bit back the 'You once told me I was good at Healing spells' and managed a smile. "Yes, coming on four years now.”
Regulus felt young in his brother's presence (even if they were both the same height now).
“That’s… really great.” Sirius smiled, looking close to proud.
“That's James son, isn't it?” Regulus asked, and watched the darkness flicker in his brothers eyes again.
“You can tell by the hair, huh?”
Really he could tell by the way Sirius looked at the boy-the same way he had always looked at James-but he smiled at his brother's attempt at humor anyways.
When the little family left two days later, a chagrined Sirius mumbled something out that was close to an invitation-coffee? Do you drink coffee? As he left St. Mungos, his beloved godson giggling in his arms.
Regulus watched and wondered if perhaps he had gotten his brother back. If his brother would walk away from him again.
(He would, once he found out about the paradoxical life his brother led, a Healer who moonlights as a Death Eater. The life of one who fixes scars and curses he recognises, the life of one who is vowed to both worlds even as they threaten to pull him apart at the seams).
But this time he would come back. And not on accident, stumbling in with a sick child, but with a determination for history not to repeat itself.
For this Sirius Black knew about the transformative power of second chances.
Harry Potter grew up at his grandmother's elbow, learning about his culture, his heritage. What was left of it. Some had been lost to time, others to the journey made from Delhi to here. The rest to the pressure of a world who didn’t want girls with dark skin and a determined glint in her eye.
But in this world Harry knew who he was. Where he had come from. What had been lost so he could live. And oh, did he live.
He lived in the same trees and lakes his own father had made his kingdom at his age, he lived in the books his Moony shared with him-Moony, who watched as identical green eyes skimmed over the same pages he had seen a flame-haired girl devour. He lived in the adventures, the wild reckless stories and pursuits of his Padfoot. He lived in his grandmother's kitchen, watching her bake roti in between English cakes of lemon drizzle and his favourite treacle tart.
Harry lived, and he knew what it was to be loved.
(After all, a boy must live so he can learn to die.
And even now, even here, Harry still had to be the boy who learned to walk to his death).

Ep 201: The Disappearance of Frederick Valentich Part 3
“I am prepared to swear on oath or submit myself to any lie detector test to substantiate this, my statement.”
– Don Cox, who observed a triangle-shaped UFO for 45 minutes from his yard in Adelaide, 385 miles northwest of Valentich’s last known location, just 28 minutes after his radio fell silent.
Description:
As we wrap up our coverage of the Frederick Valentich story in Part 3 of our series, we'll continue our conversation with Melbourne resident Chris Tyler about his research into the case and other possibly related UFO incidents around the same time and area. We'll also examine the Australian Department of Transport accident report's remaining findings and discuss its conclusions. As you begin to reach your own conclusions, it's essential to keep several factors in mind which make the usual mundane explanations seem inadequate. The high number of independent sightings of aerial phenomena occurring in proximity to the disappearance suggests Valentich wasn't alone in witnessing it. The distance a Cessna cowling was found from a potential crash site and the lack of definitive markings makes its discovery inconclusive. Even if the cowling did come from Valentich's plane, it still doesn't account for what caused him to ditch, let alone other missing debris and Valentich himself. Perhaps the most surprising revelation comes from the summary of the report itself. Rather than dismissing the possibility of a UFO entanglement, an official government statement lists it as one of four likeliest scenarios. Remember that Valentich himself never suggested he interacted with a UFO in his last transmission, despite being painted as obsessed with them by his skeptics. When these factors and more are taken together, it's no wonder this incident is one of the most baffling and tragic in the phenomenon's history and leaves us all to wonder, what happened to Frederick Valentich and where did he go?
Location:
Moorabbin Airport, where Frederick Valentich took off from on October 21, 1978, headed for King Island across Bass Strait.

“one day you will land on boardwalk and know the true meaning of loss.”
OKAY, BUT THE DONNY NOVA BAND PLAYING MONOPOLY WOULD HAVE TO INCLUDE...
they start off the game with wayne being the banker
because he’s so meticulous, there’s no way he can screw up and give someone more money on accident *cough cough* davy *cough cough*
and donny originally has jimmy read the rules and sot of be the keeper of those, but then he realizes half way in that jimmy has been playing everyone and somehow has been getting out of jail early
no one has played in a long while, and no one expected the lawyer to finesse the system
“i knew i had too much faith in the judicial system.” (nick, probably)
so julia read through the rules and now she calls out donny when he does something “illegal” and he hates having ever mentioned the rules
“why don’t we just play without them?” (johnny)
and everyone sort of turns to him because they forgot he was still playing
johnny was banking on this and has created an empire that no one can topple
donny exclusively buys the blue and red properties and spends all of his money on putting up a crazy amount of hotels
when he lands on one of the railroads (that belongs to julia) he goes bankrupt and has to start selling things
it all goes downhill from there
and donny looks at julia and asks for a pardon but she just smiles and says it’s not a part of the r u l e s
but let’s look at the board real quick, because here’s the facts
julia has the railroads and the browns (or purple, depending on your version) and a few other places like connecticut avenue (light blue) and st. james place (orange)
nick keeps trying to pay her off for those properties so he can start building houses, but julia refuses to sell
jimmy has all of the pinks and the utilities and he is just trying to save up enough money so that he can make it past donny’s blockade at the final stretch of the board
he has landed on it 3 times now and is debating on whether or not he should get a loan from johnny or not
johnny wouldn’t swindle him, right?
davy was a serious player for the first 20 minutes, but then he hit free parking and hasn’t cared since
he own no properties because he sold park place to donny, one of the railroads to julia, and the rest of his cards (including his get out of jail free card) to johnny
wayne was playing initially, but after getting in a fight with nick over whether or not a community chest card applied to him, he has folded and become just the banker
he mostly just watches the events play out and makes snide comments
nick is slowly dying because everyone is building hotels and julia has him hostage since she has the final light blue and the final orange.
he has gone to jail for the past four times around the board, and even though he has a get out of jail free card, he stays there because it’s safest there
and now we move on to our king™ johnny he has all the yellows and all the greens, and he has a huge stack of money that he keeps hidden in his pocket.
donny keeps selling hotels to jonny instead of the bank (which infuriates wayne because that’s not how it’s supposed to work) and that is the only way that johnny has ever put hotels on the board
he also keeps forgetting to check the board when people roll, so nick has landed on his properties like twelve times but has only paid seven times, and twice because julia called him out on it
julia is on johnny’s team because she knows she can’t win, but really wants to take down donny.
after two hours, donny is hanging on by a thread
he keeps getting chance and community chest cards that give him like $200 dollars or advance him to go, and it’s the only way he has stayed alive
julia lands on boardwalk shortly after and donny is happy and takes her for everything she has
which isn’t a lot, because she has been in debt to johnny this entire time
donny is absolutely c r y i n g because she gives him like a hundred dollars and st. james place (orange) and asks hm to not sell it to nick, no matter what
“what the hell did i ever do to you?” (nick, probably)
wayne has definitely left the chat™ and there was an argument over who the banker was going to be
it couldn’t be donny because he would cheat
johnny is the best with numbers, but they are also 92% sure he is the reason why there is like, only one (1) $100 bill in the bank
“jimmy is a swindler!” (davy, who is most definitely drunk)
and so julia who thought she was free is now the banker
at two and a half hours, nick folds after he lands on a chance card that has him give 80% of his total worth to free parking
“i’m not doing the math.” and the throws all of his stuff to the middle of the board
so now it’s a race to free parking and donny gets stuck in jail :(
johnny gets there first
remember the empire i mentioned? yeah, johnny now has it
he has the browns (or purple), the light blues, the oranges (bar one card - st. james place), the yellows, the greens, the railroads and all of nick’s money
which was like $321 dollars, tbh
he also has 3 get out of jail free cards
jimmy is about to sob and donny looks at the board and says “nope” and gives all of his money and cards to jimmy
jimmy now has the reds, the pinks, the blues, the utilites, and st. james place
no one really knows what happens after that, because neither jimmy nor johnny ever speak about it
julia claims that johnny won because he had the board from the beginning
donny disagrees because he says johnny is nice enough to give jimmy an infinite amount of loans (he is now the banker) so that the game never really ended
neither of them know because they were making out in the other room
but after that, jimmy claimed he was a “god fearing man” and would never play monopoly again
and johnny suggested it every saturday after practice
AND FLUFF ENSUES.

PLOT DROP : TIMOR VINCIT OMNIA
T I M O R V I N C I T O M N I A .
ce·te·ris pa·ri·bus ˌˈti·mor ˈwin·k·it ˈom·ni·a 1. ‘fear conquers all.’
Saturday, 8 September 1979. London, England.
Autumn has finally arrived. The first week of term is officially over for Hogwarts students, and the school is back in full swing as students work hard to prepare for another full year of studies and challenges ahead of them. In the rest of the wizarding world, all eyes are on the ancient school as the debate continues-- is Hogwarts really safe? In a world where everything seems to be falling apart, and violence happens everyday, should the risk be taken to send children away from their families to attend school?
But that, of course, is where the focus is wanted. It is the ignored evil-- the debates go on, certainly, and the press coverage follows wherever the Dark Mark glows in the sky-- that brings about the most chaos, and it is the ignored evil that finally steps out of the shadows.
Everything is normal in London. The temperatures have dropped once again, and the air is crisp with a chill that signals how close winter is already. The Ministry building bustles with activity, the streets of Diagon Alley are packed with witches and wizards. The focus is elsewhere, which makes it too late when anyone realizes what’s actually happening.
St. Mungo’s Hospital. The unrealized heart of London is its usual busy center of healing, just as it always is. People are being treated for injuries, while others work or visit their families and friends as they recover. It happens very slow, and then all at once. The front doors open, as they always do, and people enter.... there is a moment’s silence, the calm before the storm. A security wizard steps forward to make sure nothing is amiss.
A flash of green light, and he falls to the ground.
Chaos ensues. No one is certain what is going on or what’s happening, but a few things rapidly become clear-- Death Eaters are in the building, they are attacking people, and there is no way out. Patients and healers alike do their best to find places to hide in the hospital, while others try to escape. But the exits are sealed, the front entrance blocked by Death Eaters. There’s nowhere to go, nowhere that’s safe. The only options become to fight or die, and for too many, the latter ends up being their fate.
When Aurors finally arrive on the scene, it’s already too late. The doors are barricaded shut, and hundreds of people are trapped inside facing who knows what. Teams of Aurors split up, and the front door is barraged while others attempt to find alternate ways into the hospital.
It is the coward’s retreat that finally leads them to the key to getting inside. Some people on higher floors have managed to make their way up and out to the roof, while others have broken open windows and escaped through them. Some Aurors and concerned citizens help people in escaping and evacuating the area, while the rest of the Aurors finally storm the building as soon as they’ve gotten as many people out as possible.
When it becomes clear that the Death Eaters are surrounded, they flee. The city of London becomes a giant maze, with Death Eaters no longer on the offensive, but on the run. To keep their identities secret and avoid capture, the Death Eaters that attacked the hospital quickly split up, hiding in safe houses, buildings, shops-- anywhere that they won’t be found by the Hitwizards that are hunting them down. Most make it away, but not all-- thirty-three Death Eaters are either killed or brought into custody, and the hunt for the culprits continues until the early hours of the morning.
In the end, it’s time to regroup. The hospital, once a symbol of safety and healing, is but a shell of its former self after being demolished by the fighting. With nowhere to treat the injured and the sick, the city of London bands together, doing what they can for any they can. All eyes turn away from Hogwarts to the destruction left behind at the hospital, and the question is finally realized--
Is there anywhere that is safe?
Under the cut you will find descriptions of where each character was and what they were doing during the attack. While no threads may take place during the attack, you may write drabbles that do, and all starters take place after the attack is over.
Please include “Timor Vincit Omnia” in the title of all starters related to the plot drop, and tag things related to this plot drop with the tag “veritas: timor vincit omnia” so that others can find them. You do not have to do anything related to the plot drop if you don’t want to, but it is strongly encouraged!
ALICE BARNETT, EDGAR BONES, LILY EVANS, FRANK LONGBOTTOM, DORCAS MEADOWES, ALASTOR MOODY
When word of a crisis reaches the Ministry, the Aurors are the first to act. ALASTOR MOODY splits his Aurors up into teams-- ALASTOR, DORCAS MEADOWES, and FRANK LONGBOTTOM form up a team, while EDGAR BONES, ALICE BARNETT, and LILY EVANS form up another. ALASTOR and his team head up to the roof and work their way down through the building while EDGAR and his team help lead the charge on the main entrance. When they finally get inside, ALASTOR instructs DORCAS to direct as many people up to the roof as she can. DORCAS does as she’s asked, and assists in the evacuation. ALASTOR and FRANK keep moving through the fighting down to the third floor, and are eventually separated by the fighting. FRANK finds a large group of people trapped in a room, and fights to get them free before sending them with another Auror to the roof. Meanwhile, EDGAR leads his group of Aurors in through the front. ALICE remains near the door to keep people from escaping, while LILY and EDGAR remain close to each other as they enter the main fray. They do their best to keep too many Death Eaters from escaping when the retreat is finally sounded, and pursue the Death Eaters as they flee. When the hunt is finally called off, EDGAR, ALICE, and LILY all return to the hospital to find their friends and family and get treated for their injuries. They return to find that FRANK has taken temporary control of the remaining Aurors as they assist in the cleanup and restoration of the injured, as ALASTOR was severely wounded and unable to direct the Aurors himself.
SIRIUS BLACK, AMELIA BONES, PANDORA CROSS, JAMES POTTER, TILDEN TOOTS
When the attack begins, SIRIUS BLACK and JAMES POTTER are working on the fourth floor. They run to find out what is happening and find PANDORA CROSS. The three of them discover there’s an attack happening as people flee upstairs to escape it. JAMES and SIRIUS attempt to go downstairs to join the brunt of the fighting before realizing there are too many people in the hospital that will get caught in the crossfire. They recruit PANDORA to help them get people from the lower floors up to the roof. They find AMELIA BONES on the second floor trying to get people to safety and join forces with her to usher people upstairs. JAMES is hit in the face and goes down. When the others realize he’s gone, SIRIUS splits off to try and find him again while PANDORA and AMELIA continue to get people upstairs to the roof. They find TILDEN TOOTS hiding in a storage room and direct her up towards the roof. She finds JAMES on her way and drags him out of the fighting, remaining with him until the fight is over. When the fighting ends, PANDORA and AMELIA are treated for minor injuries, while JAMES is treated for severe injuries after being hit in the face by a hex. SIRIUS is treated for moderate injuries received while searching for JAMES.
CHARLES BONES, FLORA BORGIN, WILDA GRIFFITHS, ABIGAIL NORTON, ANDROMEDA TONKS
When the attack begins, there are those that are trapped in the thick of it. ABIGAIL NORTON is tending to WILDA GRIFFITHS after a minor flying incident. ANDROMEDA TONKS is helping with the hospital’s healing classes, which CHARLES BONES and FLORA BORGIN are both attending. When the fighting begins, ANDROMEDA and a few other healers begin getting people to safety and hiding them in examination rooms. ABIGAIL hides in one of the rooms and treats anyone brought to her that is wounded. FLORA and CHARLES escape to another part of the hospital; while they’re fleeing, CHARLES is hit with an unknown jinx. FLORA finds WILDA and the two of them manage to drag CHARLES into a storage room. After the attack ends, ANDROMEDA and WILDA are both treated for minor injuries, while CHARLES is treated for moderate injuries.
EUROPA FAWLEY, CLARA MACMILLAN, NARCISSA MALFOY, ALINA PARKINSON
None of them actually know the fighting is happening until it’s all over. EUROPA FAWLEY, ALINA PARKINSON, and NARCISSA MALFOY are having lunch together, while CLARA MACMILLAN is visiting family. When they find out what’s happened, EUROPA and CLARA both hurry to the hospital to see if they can help, while NARCISSA contacts her husband to make sure he’s alright. ALINA allows a few Death Eaters to hide at her home when they flee from the hospital.
FENRIR GREYBACK, AGNES PARKIN, PHOEBUS PENROSE, ALBERT PICCARY
FENRIR GREYBACK and AGNES PARKIN are both in Knockturn Alley when the attack begins. When they hear what’s happening, they find ALBERT PICCARY and PHOEBUS PENROSE in Diagon Alley and force them to return to the cabin, where they wait out the fighting until the attack is over. When they’re sure it’s safe, PHOEBUS and ALBERT both go to see if they can find any of their friends.
PHAEDRA BELLCHANT, MARCUS BLETCHLEY, LUCIUS MALFOY, ALANA MULCIBER, AUGUSTUS ROOKWOOD, SEVERUS SNAPE
When the fighting begins, it is AUGUSTUS ROOKWOOD and PHAEDRA BELLCHANT among the group of Death Eaters that lead the attack on St. Mungo’s. While they help to hold the entrance, LUCIUS MALFOY, MARCUS BLETCHLEY, ALANA MULCIBER, and SEVERUS SNAPE are charged with working their way through the building and taking out as many as they can. MARCUS and LUCIUS stick close together, while ALANA and SEVERUS remain as a team. MARCUS and LUCIUS manage to make it up to the third floor before realizing the tides have turned. They rush up to the roof and quickly flee the scene, hiding until it’s safe to return again as innocent civilians to find out what’s happened. ALANA and SEVERUS are forced to escape out of a window on the second floor. They both hurry to one of the Death Eater safe houses, and remain there until it’s safe to return. PHAEDRA BELLCHANT and AUGUSTUS ROOKWOOD are separated when the Aurors storm the entrance. PHAEDRA flees to hide at a friend’s house while AUGUSTUS is pursued by Hitwizards until he eventually manages to lose them. When the fighting is over, MARCUS, ALANA, SEVERUS, and AUGUSTUS are all in need of treatment for minor to moderate injuries.
SARAH BONES, ANTHEA MCKINNON, HERCULES MCKINNON, MARGARET MCKINNON, BILIUS WEASLEY, MOLLY WEASLEY
None of these people are at the hospital when the fighting begins. SARAH BONES hears about the attack from her husband, and rushes to tell MOLLY WEASLEY and HERCULES MCKINNON. HERCULES gathers his siblings ANTHEA MCKINNON and MARGARET MCKINNON and keeps them at the Ministry until the fighting is over, despite MARGARET’s protests that she go and help. MOLLY gets BILIUS WEASLEY, and the two of them wait with SARAH to hear news from the Aurors about what is happening. When the fighting is over, all of them leave the Ministry to find their friends and try to help in any way they can.
REMUS LUPIN, GALEN OLLIVANDER, PETER PETTIGREW, GLADYS GUDGEON, WENDY SLINKHARD
When the fighting starts, PETER PETTIGREW and GLADYS GUDGEON are at Flourish and Blott’s at work. GALEN OLLIVANDER comes in and tells them that something is happening at St. Mungo’s, and that everyone is being evacuated around the hospital. PETER contacts REMUS LUPIN, and REMUS arrives to help with the evacuations. GALEN, PETER, GLADYS, and REMUS all help direct people to safe locations as they flee before hurrying to the hospital to see if they can find their friends. While they’re searching, they find WENDY SLINKHARD hiding near the hospital. GLADYS takes her to safety while PETER, REMUS, and GALEN all search for a way in. They find people escaping from a hospital window and help them until the fighting is over.

Dancing to Soul Music
I have not come across a book that gives a historical overview of soul dances. So I decided to write a short text myself where I rely on the material that I have read online. I don’t claim a total truth; my main goal is to give some good threads for further research.
Although some local scenes have concentrated on specific types of soul music, the artists themselves recorded very different music throughout their careers. For example, Irma Thomas and Etta James recorded lots of ballads that are perfect for blues dancing, but one can find other kinds of music from their repertoire that are suitable for the northern soul, boogie-woogie, shag etc.
Some other scenes have also embraced newer music, but I am personally mainly into soul music from the 1960s. Soul music from the ‘70s is not so much my cup of tea and I find a lot of soul music from the ‘80s very bad.
Partner dances
In the 1940s swing music started developing in different directions. Some bands started making bebop which is more sophisticated and meant for listening. Others played jump blues - straightforward dance music. Jump blues developed into rhythm and blues, which in the ‘50s meant mainly just black rock’n’roll. While in the 1950s people kept dancing lindy hop to the new music, other kinds of regional swing dances developed out of lindy-hop.
For the ‘50s fast r&b suits east-coast swing very well. In Europe, boogie-woogie is danced to this kind of music. (An interesting thing that I have noticed about boogie-woogie is that, although it is connected with the rock’n’roll scene, many dancers are not in a hardcore way into the rock’n’roll/ rockabilly subculture.) For the very fast music, one can also dance collegiate or St. Louis shag.
When the music changed to slower and/or smoother, the dancing also changed. One of the expressions of this is the DC hand dance which for a long time was solely a phenomenon of the black community in Washington D.C. Nowadays it is also danced at different, mainly west-coast swing competitions. Here is a very good overview of the history of hand dance.
The west-coast swing could be danced to almost any music which is written in 4/4 time. I would like to experiment to see how it feels to dance WCS to the ‘60s soul music.
Another style that suits slower r&b is the Carolina shag which has also been called west-coast swing on the east coast. Like the west-coast swing, it is danced to a slower tempo and in slots (back and forth on an almost straight line) but the steps are more similar to the east-coast swing. One of the main differences between the two is in that, which partner has fancier footwork - in west-coast swing, it is the follower, in Carolina shag the leader. The Carolina shag has been elected as a state dance in both South and North Carolina, but the hotspot for this dance has been Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Carolina shag even has its musical style/ spectrum called beach music. Unfortunately, the quality of music fell hugely in the ‘80s and even the best bands from the ‘50s made very bad music. Fortunately, there are also enthusiasts dedicated to old beach music (similar to the fans of northern soul and Belgian popcorn sound) who like to collect obscure R&B records, especially from the 1960s.
Here are some youtube videos about Carolina shag: 1) Celebrating the South Carolina Shag 2) Shag Nation 3) Shag Dancing in North Myrtle Beach.
The Belgian popcorn scene also largely relies on slower soul music and they call their dance style slow swing. What connects popcorn and beach music besides a slower tempo, is that many popcorn parties took place at the beach or even in the countryside. Unfortunately, there is not much info in English about the popcorn scene and what exactly is slow swing. Here is a short documentary about popcorn music and two good articles from The Guardian and Frieze.
Soul music also has a lot of ballads and since the late ‘60s, some musicians have tried to fuse soul with blues. Blues dancing suits those kinds of music very well. Unfortunately, most people don’t know this and that is why DJs don’t play ballads at soul parties. One of my goals is to explore this possibility to see if there could be a larger interest in this kind of practice.
Line dances
Although nowadays line dances are largely associated with country music, they only started to gain bigger popularity among country music fans in the ‘80s. Before that line dancing was also done to disco, r&b and jazz. For example, one very cool jazz tune for a line dance is “Madison Time”.
There is a slow rock’n’roll dance from the late ‘50s called The Stroll. In the ‘70s it became an integral part of the dance TV series Soul Train and the show creator Don Cornelius called it the “Soul Train Line”.
A dance called stroll is nowadays quite popular in the rock’n’roll scene but the one danced in Europe is quite different from the ‘50s stroll. I like that dance and it perfectly suits many r&b/ soul music pieces. I would just like to know the history of the stroll danced at rock’n’roll parties.
Solo dances
The ‘50s and ‘60s saw a lot of dance fads. The ‘60s were overall marked by the turn to free-style solo dancing. Many clubs hired go-go dancers so the partygoers could choose moves from dance fads and also imitate go-go dancers (who also used moves from different dance crazes). One of the primary sources to learn dance moves was television. For many African-American teenagers in the Washington, D.C. area the most important dance show was Teenarama, (which still showed a lot of partner dances). Teenarama could be seen as one of the precursors of the ‘70s Soul Train, which had a much wider reach and larger popularity.
Besides soul music, I also like very much ‘60s rock music. So it would be good to know some dance moves to have more fun at the parties. Although I am not much into ‘70s soul music, I still think that learning the aforementioned dance moves is a good way to become more comfortable in one’s body and get into dancing in general. Partner dances are a good way to connect with other people but solo dancing allows you to enjoy music on your own. I think that the popularity of solo dancing in the ‘60s grew out of the wish to freely improvise on the dance floor and not be restricted and pressured by specific rules. On the other hand, knowing a bunch of different moves could be helpful for improvisation.
Here are two reportages about go-go dancing: from Australia and Germany.
The most stylish solo dance that has grown out of the love of soul music comes from the northern soul scene. In the beginning, the playlist of northern soul parties consisted mainly of rare records of fast-tempo ‘60s soul music. Later newer music with suitable speed and 4/4 beat was included, but that also caused a division between traditionalists and so-called modern soul fans. Northern soul dancing is quite athletic and one needs a lot of stamina. Although both the northern soul and popcorn scenes concentrated on rare soul records, the party atmospheres were quite different. Popcorn music is slower and many popcorn parties took place at the beach or in the countryside where people were consuming Belgian beer. The northern soul scene was located in the industrial towns of northern England where people danced to fast music and quite a lot of amphetamines were consumed. Here is a short article about how people learn northern soul dancing nowadays.
What possibilities does soul music offer, and how differently could the culture of soul parties look in the future? I will write about that in my next blog post.

HISTORY OF SAINT JAMES’: PEW KNEELERS
12/17/2015
BY SJECWARRENTON
HISTORY OF SAINT JAMES’: PEW KNEELERS
In 1978 several members of St. James’ Church gathered together, calling themselves The Saint James’ Church Needlepoint Guild. As a group they took on a ‘mission to restore’ the 300 original plastic covered pew kneelers and transform them with colorful needlepoint design coverings. With the $500 seed money donated by Mr. and Mrs. Benny, members of Saint James’, the project took flight in memory of long-time and most beloved parishioner, Sally Harris Laing. Yards of red velvet fabric to cover the sides and make the piping were purchased. This velvet fabric was to be the only thread of sameness in the entire project.
Next came the fun part of creating the designs and stitching the canvas. Our rector at the beginning of this launch was David Greer. He offered the suggestion that each kneeler be designed to reflect the individual to whom the kneeler was dedicated…either honored or memorialized. Therefore, today as we look around the nave and chapel we find the wide variety of needlepoint designs telling the story of the Saint James’ parishioners. It was Mrs. Kathleen Mackie who took on the mantle of leadership in creating this multitude of canvas designs. When a parish member wished to give a kneeler, Mrs. Mackie would meet with the donor, chat about the one being honored, and offer her design suggestions to express their hobbies, interests, and/or distinctive personality traits. (No unreasonable limitations were put on the canvas designs.) One morning this past summer Mrs. Mackie shared the story that many of her designs had been inspired and gathered from books, art, and often travels she and her husband made while abroad. She stated that she never left home without a pencil and paper…just in case she would come across an idea she wished to capture and/or sketch. One of the designs she created and stitched in 1988 was in honor of Mary R.S. Day or “Polly”, as she was nicknamed. As Polly was an ardent conservationist, the design Mrs. Mackie created for her was a red-breasted hummingbird with a vine of morning glory against a bright blue background. Today you will find that kneeler located in the nave on the outside left aisle where Polly would often sit during the worship service. Mrs. Mackie continued by saying that before this or any completed kneeler was placed in the pew it was photographed, assigned a number, and added to the guild catalogue book, now kept in the Archives Room. This was the arduous procedure taken with each kneeler…all 296. Our most recent kneeler was given to honor Donna Ingersoll when she retired as Saint James’ Church Hand Bell Choir Director. It was designed by Bonnie Zacherle, stitched by Karla MacKimmie, and presented during our worship service this past spring by our rector, Ben Maas.
Following the initial placement of several newly covered kneelers the awareness and interest of this undertaking grew. With that the membership in the guild also grew…to fifty ‘stitchers’. Wednesday mornings became the ‘gathering day’ where Mrs. Mackie and other experienced needlepoint ladies shared their skills and the necessary techniques with interested beginners. It was a fun and social time with needles, yarn, and fingers madly working away. At the 1978 project inception each kneeler donor was asked to offer $35 for the expense of yarn and canvas. When a canvas was completed, it was taken to be finished or ‘mounted’ to cover the original kneeler form. With the initial seed money soon exhausted, the women of Saint James’ Church donated a one-time offering of $300 to purchase some additional red velvet fabric. By 1989 the guild realized that a charge of $45 was necessary to cover the increase in costs of the canvas and Persian or tapestry yarns.
There are several areas within the church where kneelers of a specific size are necessary. So in 1962 Mona Spoor of New York designed the main altar and the chapel altar kneelers. Four ‘stitchers’, including The Reverend Paul Bowden, former Rector of Saint James’ Church, donated and stitched those pieces. Within the choir pew area you will find kneelers that display the first lines of hymns along with some musical notes. The reader’s kneeler exhibits Biblical verses. Then around 1993 Mrs. Munster of Hume, Virginia offered a wedding kneeler.
So by 2000, 296 individual pew kneelers had been stitched, finished, and catalogued ready for placement within the church. These kneelers often show a particular aspect of a parishioner’s life. Take time some Sunday after the service to notice the different gifts and talents that were…and still are, within our midst. We know you will appreciate the beauty each kneeler offers. We ask that you respect these precious gifts…and use them only for prayer.
Finally, it must be stated that this mission was handled with great perseverance. Mrs. Kathleen Mackie was the guiding light throughout this memorable project. She added, “I just wanted to share my love of stitching”. Mrs. Mackie along with all the Saint James’ Church guild and stitching friends leave a beautiful legacy.

“My Heartbeat” Part 7
Summary: Y/N barely functioned on little sleep and cafeteria food. She refused to leave Bucky’s side. Steve volunteers to sit with his best friend while Y/N takes a breather. As it turns out, today would be the day they’ve been praying for. James Buchanan Barnes wakes up!!
Word Count: 1,145
Warnings: None
A/N: Things are about to take a turn for the better (finally). It’s all uphill from here. You have no idea how much I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment. It makes what I do so much easier. POV will be in italics. I’ve yet to learn how to create a Masterlist. If you wish to read “No Better Love” from the beginning, please check out my archives. I love y’all and thanks again for reading!!!
The nurse entered Bucky’s hospital room and saw Y/N holding his hand, with her head on the bed. Picking up a patchwork quilt, she draped it around Y/N’s shoulders. Before exiting the room, Mrs. Higgins pressed a kiss upon her head and whispered, “That’s right dearie, keep talking to him. Mr. Barnes is in there trying to get back to you.”
Y/N stretched and groggily looked around the room. She didn’t know who wrapped the quilt around her shoulders. In spite of her aching bones, Y/N leaned over and placed a kiss on Bucky’s forehead. “James, Steve will be in here to sit with you. I’m going to take a nap and hot shower. I’ll miss you so much but rest assured I’ll be back. I love you my heartbeat. Remember, no better love could I have found than in you.”
Opening Bucky’s hospital room door, Steve walked over to Y/N’s side and embraced her. “How’s he doing and how are you?”
“Dr. Hanson noticed James’ brainwaves increasing. He’s optimistic.”
“Hey, that’s good news, right?”
“Yes it is.” A tight smile formed on her lips. “I’ll see you in a bit, m’kay?”
“Sure, Y/N/N. Take your time, I’ll be here as long as ya need me to.”
Steve’s POV
Hey Buck, it’s me, Stevie. Uh, Y/N had to leave for a bit. So, she asked me to sit wit’cha. Everyone’s askin’ ‘bout ya. Tony’s still, himself. Wanda’s sending ya positive vibes and Nat misses sparring with ya. Um Sam says you’re ornery and it won’t be long before you wake up. I know he misses needling ya.
Clint, Scott and Rhodey’s waiting for ya so we can whup’um in pool AGAIN! They swear ‘cuz we’re older they’ll be able to beat us. We know that ain’t true, right? I’ve been drawing a bit; nothing special.
Oh, Mr. O’Rourke opened a fancy malt shop in Brooklyn. He uh gave me a call and says when you get better, I gotta bring ya for a malt and cheeseburger.
Well, I’m just gonna sit here and draw a bit. Love ya Buck.
Steve wiped a tear from his cheek with the back of his hand. The stress had taken a toll on his scarred psyche. The weight of Bucky’s injuries was unbearable because in a sense, he blamed himself. But, the blonde super soldier refused to succumb to any negative thoughts. Steve promised Bucky and Y/N he would be there, no matter what. And his word is bond!!!
Y/N’s POV
The sting of hot water cascading down my back was welcome relief to my tired, aching body. That reclining chair’s not as comfortable as our king size bed at home, but for my husband, I’ll sit there as long as necessary.
I can’t get the haunting beeping of James’ heart monitor out of my head. It’s on repeat and driving me insane!!! Mentally, I’m crashing and burning like a runaway comet from outer space. I mentally scolded myself! Stop, stop it right now!!! Pull yourself together!!!
Opening the shower door, she wrapped herself in an extra-large towel, with jacquard print; it was Bucky’s favorite. The warmth enveloped her fatigued body. Y/N wiped the foggy bathroom mirror and gasped at her reflection. Dark circles hung underneath her Y/E/C eyes.
After rubbing her joints with eucalyptus lotion, Y/N pulled on Bucky’s oversized t-shirt, wrapped herself in the soft Sferra Capri 1,020 thread count sheets, thick down comforter and permitted sleep to pull her into its grasp. Oh sweet slumber, where hast thou been? Cradle me in thy loving arms; rock me gently till I cry no more.
Steve’s POV
I must’ve dozed off. The screeching sound of Bucky’s heart monitor, coupled with doctors and nurses running in the room, frightened me. What’s going on?? Is he gonna be alright??”
“Mr. Rogers, please back away!” Dr. Hanson pulled Bucky’s eyes open, one at a time, shining a light. Dr. Cavanaugh noticed increased brainwaves. A sense of hope filled the room. “Please call Mrs. Barnes. Her husband is showing signs of waking up. His eyes are responding to light, along with increased brainwaves.”
Steve didn’t realize he was holding his breath, until after Dr. Hanson finished speaking. His hands shook while pressing “2” on speed dial.
“H-hello? Stevie, what’s wrong??”
“You need to get to the hospital ASAP! Buck’s waking up!!!!”
Y/N opened her mouth, but not one sound came out.
“Hey, Y/N/N, did ya here me? He’s coming back to us!!”
Instead of words, a deluge of tears and laughter erupted in the phone.
“St-Stevie? Am I dreaming? Are you for real?”
“Yeah, he’s waking up. The docs are in here now looking him over. Please hurry.”
“On my way.” Y/N sprang from the bed, called for a car, dressed in record time and was out the door.
Once inside the hospital, she sprinted towards the elevator. Upon arriving on the 3rd floor, Y/N jogged to Bucky’s room. Drs. Hanson and Cavanaugh were doing a battery of tests on Bucky. Steve stood against the wall, trembling.
Out of breath, the excited Mrs. Barnes flung the door open and made her way to her husband’s side.
Bucky’s eyes rolled under the lids and his right hand twitched, and with a jerk he opened his eyes. Dr. Hanson shined a mini-light in his eyes again, to check for a reaction. This time, those beautiful blue-grey orbs followed the light.
Dr. Cavanaugh questioned Bucky. “Mr. Barnes, if you understand what I’m saying blink ‘once’ for yes and twice for ‘no’.”
With little effort, Bucky blinked once, as a tear escaped his eye.
Y/N took her husband’s hand and squeezed gently. “I love you so much James Buchanan Barnes.” He gazed into her Y/E/C and blinked ‘once’ again!
Though no words were said, Y/N knew Bucky loved her too and now the task at hand would be getting him off the breathing tube, beginning physical and mental therapy, then HOME!!!
