"Aw, c'mon on now, lil jester! Is that really how fast you can go?" Seth jeered to the racer behind him as he squirted a pen right at her face with a smirk playing his lips as he watched her steam up in anger as she began skid out a little due to the ink, "Y'know, darling, you look rather cute with all that black on you~"

Pomni glared at the motorcyclist as the ink cleared from her face, "Here comes the flirts." She rolled her eyes as she raced back up near Seth with a cane in her hand that she threw at him with narrowed eyes, "Here, have a stiff thing that you apparently have right now!" She scoffed at him, uninterested in his flirts but figured she'd play along a little.

The shadowy figure leaned against the handlebars some as he gave her a seductive look but it was pretty obvious that he wasn't anything serious, more so as a way to make a certain announcer jealous. He glanced up at the radio tower that was in the middle of the track- the AI up in the tower may not be fully visible to anyone else but the dark character could see further than the human players so he could easily notice how the commentator was glaring down at him. The ghostly motorcyclist snickered to himself at the look, enjoying the resentful leer as he straightened himself.

"What happened to being only attracted to me~" The jester racer teased a bit as she noticed how he was narrowing his eyes at the announcer tower.

That made his vehicle swerve a little out of control as he got caught off guard at her statement, "NOPE! NOT GOING THERE!" He sent her a look as he got steadied, "Why'd your mind even go there?" He questioned with a groan and sped to be up next to her.

She laughed in amusement at his reaction to what she said, "You just looked like you staring so passionately at the tower." She smirked at him, more than happy to annoy him like her annoys her all the time.

At least until he went in front of and began to drive backwards as if not worried about where he was heading. His eyes floated out from in between his teeth and began to move around her, successfully creeping her out but also causing her to blush a bit at how it felt like they were checking her out, "Oh, no, my little feisty jester~ You're all I want to stare intently at~" He growled playfully as his eyes returned to their original positions as he narrowed his eyes a bit as his teeth turned up to a smirk.

The kart racer felt her cheeks burn a bit at the suggestive comment, "I- ugh- you-"

"Asshole? Fucker? Bastard?" Seth offered coolly with a hum. He had to quickly swerve out of the way with a loud laugh as she suddenly pressed the brake to stop her kart.

Pomni stared at him with wide, astonished eyes, "YOU CAN [%^^%**%^] CURSE?!?" She screeched out as she slammed her hands on her vehicle.

"Ah, I think you meant 'fucking curse'."

She stomped her way up to the snickering shadow, grabbed his shoulders and shook him hard, "WHY DO YOU NOT GET CENSORED????" She almost yelled at him in envy.

Seth grinned widely before leaning on his own vehicle as he placed a finger under her chin and moved his face closer to hers, "Maybe if you let me have a bit of fun with you tonight, I can teach you~" He growled lowly. He stared at her for a moment before his eyes subtly moved upwards and he moved back.

The was a snap above the two of them before Pomni was suddenly teleported up in the arms of the announcer of the races, being held tight and protectively as he glared down at the Echo, "She is MINE!" He growled possessively to his shadowy doppelganger. The jester in his arms could merely stay silent and blush as she listened to her boyfriend become overprotective over her.

"Aw, come now. We can share, can't-"

Before the Echo had a chance to finish his sentence, Pomni let out a loud, pained gasp as Caine bit down onto her shoulder, hard enough to leave a scar. Claiming her as his. He just glared down at the shadow as he let her go- daring him to finish his sentence.

Seth frowned and huffed as he rode off on the motorcycle to finish the race. Although, once he got far enough away he couldn't help but laugh to himself, "He grew a goddamn spine for a chick like her, eh." He smirked, "I'll have to continue messing with them~" He slipped back into the out of bounds area.

Caine watched him go before cuddling with Pomni in midair, "Mine..." He murmured in her ear quietly, protectively.

His hold was soft and warm for the jester. She easily forgot the pain in her shoulder as she let him nuzzle her as she kissed his top jaw with a warm smile, "Yours..." She mumbled back.

Aaaaaand here it is! This took a lot longer to make than I would like to admit, but I think I'm at a point where I can consider this finished.

A massive shout out goes to Scarlet, the creator of this character and AU! Consider this a gift, for being such an awesome writer and person!

…Okay, I'm gonna go on a ramble now. You don't have to read it if you don't want to. I just have a few things I'd like to say:

So, I'm not a professional artist by any means, but you probably noticed that already. Actually, this is my first time making any kind of art in a very long time, but after getting into the TADC fandom and discovering such an amazing array of artists and writers, I felt compelled to give a little something back. Prove that I could create, not only consume, I guess.

There's a part of me that's pretty scared to post this. This fandom is full of creators with incredible, well-developed artistic skill… and then there's me, stumbling in with this polygonal mess. It's intimidating, y'know? I feel like a kid showing off his crayon drawings to his parents. I know it's ultimately pointless to compare myself to people with actual years of experience under their belts, but my brain still goes there regardless.

Well, it's not like too many people are gonna see this anyway, right? I'm just glad I was even able to finish this. That's not something I get to say very often. There were so many times where my brain was telling me that this was too hard, and that I should just give up. For once, I decided to say "No", and pushed on through anyway, despite my limited artistic abilities.

Oh, and Scarlet, if you're reading this… thank you so very much. Seriously, your work has given me so much joy and inspiration, and you're a really cool person to boot. I couldn't have done this if it wasn't for you!

Sorry if I'm being overly sappy, I just wanted to express my gratitude to you, and this whole community. I'm happy that I chose to be a part of it, even if it's just in a small way.

Alright, I think I've talked for long enough. I'm gonna shut up now.

okay so you know how in cartoons there will be little gags like hearts forming around someone when they’re in love? lol so i was thinking that in the digital world (raceway mayhaps? whatever you’d prefer to write though!) that happens to caine when he’s around pomni, she finds it cute so she kind of flirts a bit to gauge that reaction <3

A RACEWAY AU SHOWTIME ONE SHOT

"POMNI WINS!!" Caine announced from above the roaring crowd in the stands. The finish line flashed gold as Pomni zoomed through, beating Jax by a nose. Ragatha and Gummigoo tied for third. Kinger, Gangle and Zooble meandered in at their own pace.

Pomni did celebratory donuts in the winner's circle; smoke from her tires throwing literal shade at Jax. After she had her fun, she jumped out of her kart to greet Caine for her reward. "What did I win this time, handsome?" She was still feeling the effects of the race rush, emboldening her to openly flirt in front of the others.

Caine wasn't expecting her boldness and completely forgot what he was going to say. "Uhhhhh, heh..." He blushed lightly and kicked his feet. A small red heart flew from his chest and fluttered around his head. "I, uh... ahem your reward for this race is a golden hedgehog statue."

A small, prickly trophy appeared mid air and dropped in Pomni's hands, but she wasn't interested in the statue. She was intrigued by the little fluttering heart dancing around Caine's hat. "What's that?" She pointed to the heart.

Caine shooed the heart away, and it disappeared in a puff of glitter. He put his hands behind his back, and looked away nervously. "Don't- don't mind that. It's just a silly game mechanic I can't uninstall. It happens sometimes."

Pomni arched an eyebrow. "It happened after I called you handsome. Did you like that?"

Caine blushed furiously. "Oh! Um. Yes. Kind of. Just a little. It's a nice compliment. I don't get a lot of those, so it must have triggered the heart. Thank you, for saying that."

"I can say a lot more." Pomni smirked.

Literally everyone was still standing there. Including the track. Nothing had changed since Pomni won. Not that Caine noticed. He has suddenly found himself with a serious case of tunnel vision. He hovered lower, more on her level. "There is no need, dear...but if you want to... maybe one more?"

"You're incredibly creative, smart and funny. " Pomni started, testing the waters.

Two little hearts flew from Caine's chest. He put his hand over his heart and smiled warmly. The genuine compliments made him feel fuzzy.

"Every track you build is uniquely entertaining. Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed."

Five hearts now danced around the top of Caine's head, he felt a little dizzy. "Wow Pomni, thank you, but you don't need to-"

"You're fun to be around. My day doesn't feel complete until I've seen you." Pomni's smile widened, amused by the comical number of hearts.

Seven hearts whizzed around his head and torso. "-oh, you have more." He felt short of breath.

Pomni took his hand and gently held it to her cheek. She was blushing a little now, too. "Your touch makes me feel safe."

A dozen hearts flew around like nats, zipping and swooping in random directions. He held her face with both hands. "Pomni...you're playing with fire." He gently warned, his eyes watching her lips.

"Your beauty has never scared me." Pomni put her hands on his waist.

Hearts appeared in Caine's eyes. "How brave." He was swooning hard.

"Not as brave as this." Pomni grabbed Caine from the air, dipped him and kissed his lower teeth.

Caine's eyes went wide as multiple hearts flew from his chest, flying around and popping with little sparkling bursts. Chills went through his whole body, not expecting Pomni to take initiative. He kissed her back, closing his teeth and holding the back of her head.

Ragatha, Gangle, and Gummigoo whooped and whistled. Jax gagged but Zooble wouldn't let him ruin the moment, threatening to strangle him if he tried anything. Kinger found some neat beetles.

The kiss, as simple as it was, left both Caine and Pomni breathless. Hearts were everywhere, swarming around them. Caine melted in Pomni's arms. He had the goofiest smile, and his eyes were half lidded as though he were intoxicated.

Caine suddenly felt heavy in Pomni's arms as he could no longer focus on flying. He flumped to the ground and Pomni laughed. She fell to her hands and knee next to him. "Are you okay?"

"mmmmmmmhm." Caine mumbled, the hearts in his eyes going crazy. The flying hearts kept coming, showering them in colorful mini confetti. "I think I'm in love with you..."

Pomni snorted. "I never would have guessed. You're just so subtle."

Caine giggled airily. "As a track wreck."

Pomni laughed harder and kissed the front of his top teeth. "And I wouldn't have you any other way."

Caine almost cried. The affection was too much, he was overwhelmed in the best way. "Next time....I'm kissing you first." He was determined to have her turn into jelly like she just did to him.

"I'll hold you to that." Pomni smiled down at Caine.

BONUS: Seth

He and Pomni were locked in another one on one. No other racers around. He was about to steal a surprise box from her when she locked her kart to keep going and jumped to his motorcycle.

He sat up straight with surprise to have Pomni practically in his lap. Being in front of him, she touched the box first and the item went to her.

"HA! Suck it, Seth!" She jumped back to her kart, making his motorcycle wobble a bit off balance.

He blinked, staring back at her as she got herself situated in her kart. He didn't register that she was looking back until he saw the glimmer of a shell in his peripheral. He didn't react fast enough. The shell hit him and knocked him off his motorcycle. He and the vehicle tumbled across the track.

He sat up and watched Pomni speed off into the distance. A tiny black heart popped into existence next to him. He did a double take. "What the- SHIT! FUCK! NO! SHOO!!" He swatted away the heart.

He dusted himself off and whistled for his bike. It uprighted itself and idled next to him, ready to go get Pomni. He mounted it and stretched his shoulders. "Alright, little miss trouble. You wanna play hardball? Let's play."

He sped off and teleported to jump sections of the track to catch up.

RACEWAY AU REACTS TO Y/N HUGGING THEM

CAINE: "Oh! Hello there, new racer! My, you are a friendly one!" He'll hug back because he loves the attention.

POMNI: "Um-!? Please let go." She'll gently push you away.

RAGATHA: "Awwwww thank youuuuu!" She'll give you the warmest hug in return. Poor woman is touch starved.

JAX: Will grab your whole face and shove you away. "Gross."

GANGLE: Don't hug her too tight, she's fragile. She'll happily, if lightly, return the hug.

ZOOBLE: They'll silently give you a pat on the back and wait for you to let go.

KINGER: "Hug? Hug. I'm being hugged. How nice!" Pats you on the head.

GUMMIGOO: "Wot-?? Oh, aren't you adorable." Strong hug, big gator hug.

LOO: She'll pick you up, because I guarantee she's taller than you, and hold you gently in a soft embrace. She gives the best uppies.

SETH: Will disappear before you can wrap your arms around him, only to reappear behind you. "Eager little thing, aren't you?"

ABEL: Whether you hug his chosen avatar or his real body, he'll react the same way. He won't move. It's been too long since he's felt affection, he doesn't know what to do. He won't thank you, but he won't push you away either.
