Wanna see my yarn options for our Monument Hat KAL? 🧶 Tomorrow we cast on our Monument Hats for the knitalong that Ruth from @raincloudandsage and I are hosting together. Luckily I have three different yarn options in my stash: • a light blue combination of Plötulopi and Filcolana Tilia which both are leftovers from my Turning Skies Sweater #turningSkiesSweater • enough Unspun 2104 from Raincloud&Sage to make an exact duplicate of my sample and • leftovers from the yet unnamed Brioche cardigan that I am currently knitting in a lovely rusty orange which is also Plötulopi and Filcolana Tilia Right now I feel like I would like to knit two more Monument Hats. One exactly as my sample and one in the rusty tones. But please don't hold me to that. 😁 If you are thinking about joining our very relaxed knitalong here are some details: ☆ Start: Dec 18th 2022 ☆ End: Jan 31st 2023 ☆ WIPs are welcome. ☆ You don't need to finish your hat till the end of the KAL. ☆ Use the hashtag #monumentHatKAL to show us your work in progress or finished object. ☆ You can use any unspun yarn that you like. But if you want to use the current batch of unspun by @raincloudandsage with is beautiful charcoal grey and called Unspun 2109, you should order it on Dec 18th at the latest for it to be shipped before the Christmas break. I love knitting by the ocean! The last weekend I spent at the Baltic Sea and it was wonderful! 🌊 We had the most beautiful sunshine but also very cold wind. With only 13-17°C I was able to wear my new hat for the first time and it kept me warm and cozy! 🌞 This is the first proper image of my new hat, so I think it is time for a little introduction: Meet Monument Hat - it is worked holding two strands of unspun yarn and one strand of silk mohair. #monumentHat I used the wonderful "Unspun 2104" from Raincloud&Sage which is a little more fragile than Plötulopi but just as sheepy and quite a bit softer. The resulting fabric is super squishy and very warm. 🧶 I already wrote up the pattern for this hat. It will be available in 5 sizes. I am very curious to know if you would be interested in testing such a warm hat in the near future as summer is just beginning in this hemisphere...
