i really think the boston lyric opera was onto something when they were doing a rakes progress production where igor stravinsky was on stage the entire time actively fucking things up. not sure id do that exact execution but smacking the audience upside the chin with “THE CHARACTERS ARE TRAPPED IN THE NARRATIVE BTW” like that is funny
