However, Commodore seemed to have a different opinion, "Actually Madame, I think you have had enough." Leah stared up in shock as he continued, "Lady Retsaef go ahead and take care of Lady Kiara, you two can probably get that sorted out."

Did he just…?

Master Retsaef patted Leah's shoulder, "Go ahead."

Well, for a higher up, he did seem intimidating. The Commodore was kind at times, but there were times that made him famous in his stories of legend. His voice held a tone that made his sailors freeze. His eyes turned them into stone.  Yet, tonight; the tone was there, but it wasn't toward the girls. As Leah escorted Kiara to her room, she looked back for a moment to see the Commodore look at them and back to her father.

She loudly laughed and both Leah and her father winced, but Leah's smile went tight as she saw what the woman began to do. She was practically draping herself around him as she continued, "But it is such an honor to have a real seaman in our vicinity."

Leah's hands shook before she placed them behind her own back. And she judged her for her improperness.

Her father immediately calmingly pulled her away, placing a firm hand upon her elbow, "Yes, thank you Mistress Phoenix for opening your home to him."

Yes, this was common for Leah to bite her tongue at her mother's game. The two elder women were friends, but always competing with one another.

It was then Kiara decided to excuse herself. Being in her mother's shadow, and especially with another Madame that was in competition, she did not want to see the quarrel. "Pl-Please enjoy the party, Commodore. I must retire for the night."

Her father looked at her in worry. "Must you go? I was looking forward to one last dance for tonight."

"Thank you, Papa, but I am not feeling well."

“Commodore, this is Lady Leah Retsaef, our finest blacksmith in town. And, this is my daughter, Kiara.“ Leah curtsied herself as her father joined them, dipped her head in greeting, “You are too kind, Master Phoenix.” She straightened up as she finished, “I just assist father, that is all.” Her father chuckled as he leaned forward lightly kissing her forehead, “You know that is not true, my child. Our town will be in good hands with you at the helm.” Leah’s smile strained, as a sad thought filled her mind, that is if her mother would allow it. Kiara’s cheeks were starting to darken again with pink and red as she looked down at the hem of her dress and curtsied. “H-How do you do, C-Commodore?” She tried so hard not to sound nervous. She only hoped that her mother didn’t hear her and will scold her for her improper speech etiquette. —- This is one page that had its panels rearranged just so it can read smoother.

When she came back to Leah, she whispered quietly. "C-Commodore Pines is here."

Leah blinked in shock, the legendary Commodore? As she did another turn she caught sight of him. It seemed that their fathers would be in good hands, if the Commodore was here to escort them to their next orders tomorrow. But even she couldn't deny, even if he was around the same age as their fathers, he was…

"He is quite handsome, isn't he?" Leah whispered into Kiara's ear before doing a quick turn, twirling Kiara out causing her skirts to swirl.

She couldn't look at Leah or even the handsome man. "I… I suppose…"

Leah lightly hummed as she looked back towards the balcony, "You know it is quite adorable, how you're blushing right now." She could see from the corner of her eye how Kiara's cheeks grew darker. Though even Leah couldn't help the light pink that traced her smoke tanned cheeks, no matter how much scrubbing her mother demanded she would never be pale enough as was fashionable.
