I LOVE ready quotes. I feel like they are one of the biggest ways you interact with the characters, so they really influence how I feel about them. Here are some of my favorites, in completely random order. (Would love to know other people's favorites, too!)

Ignatz- "Ready, anytime!"

Seteth- "Guide me well."

Constance (dark)- "Sally forth!" (Unrelated, this quote is why Constance is my husband's favorite character.)

Ashe- "I'll give it my all!", "I'd be honored."

Sylvain- "I'm on it.", "What's the plan?"

Felix: "I'll go."

Dimitri- "I'll cut through!", "I'll comply."

Claude (injured)- "I'm hurt, but I'm with you."

Marianne (post ts, injured)- "I won't run!"

Byleth: "Stay focused." (I have written this line into a ridiculous number of fics.), (injured) "I may not survive..."

Caspar- "Put me in there!" (which always makes me want to sing "put me in, coach".)

Lindhardt- "I'm awake..."

Bernie (injured)- "I'm gonna haunt you if I die."

Hubert- "I'll cut a bloody path."

Edelgard- "I WILL prevail."

Jeritza- "Under-stood." (It's the delivery with this one.)

Manuela- "There's no stopping me!"

Yuri (injured)- "All in."

Balthus (injured): "Still the king!"

Bonus ones I really like from other games:

Kagetsu: "Come and face me!" (I think this was a solid 75% of why I S supported him. The delivery is amazing.)

Mae (injured): "Sure, I'm still hyper. Let's GO!"

At this point I'm going to run out of Supreme Quotes lol but -

Sure, the series evolved since Kaga first came out with the Archanea setting, and yet, fwiw, 35 years after the release of the first game, Tiki is the mascot of the franchise, it's not Anna, not Supreme Leader, not even Marth, but Tiki!

Ashnard is an ass and Tellius' message is warped because I definitely believe the devs completely forgot the point they wanted to make to add more Drama (tm) - but the end message is always to make a world for everyone, let them be pointy ears, round ears or anything between.

Tl;Dr : the first figure of legend that more or less kickstarted the entire series isn't advocating for a World for Humanity - sure the dragon's time has come to an end, and yet, the end goal is always to build a world for everyone, a world where Tiki will be able to play with her human friends and hang out with her kind grandpa without someone telling her she shouldn't have any power over humans because her ears aren't round.

Why are FE fans so toxic and hostile to Fates story fans or anyone with 'wrong opinions' on gameplay or story, in possibly the most subjectively-driven JRPG series on the market?

What gets me is how they try to enforce this idea of an absolute consensus and that anyone who questions it or sees it differently is to be excluded, and I have no idea imagining what motivates that kind of zero-sum thinking other than a deeply immature fandom. What do you think?

On the whole I think it's less so that most FE fans are toxic themselves, but most are quite apathetic to the very loud minority of actually immature and rude people, therefore it comes across as a much bigger issue than it would be otherwise.

Like, yes, it's still a small number of people making mean comments, but in combination with sites like Reddit that encourage mini popularity contests, the fact that believing Fates' story is irredeemable garbage is only a moderately exaggerated widely held belief means that often the side in favor of bashing the game's writing has more soft support.

That said, part of what matters is approaching it in the first place, which has its pros and cons. Obviously there's a short term rush from trolling people who clearly take things seriously on a conditional/subjective basis, but that comes at the cost at people not giving you the time of day going forward.

Approaching the issue with a blanker slate theoretically means less hostility, but in practice (at least for me), you start to run into the incredibly bull-headed group of people who are immovably within the camp that Fates was written badly and no kind of interpretation can save it. They'll say it nicely, but it's still effectively a proud admission that some plots aren't worthy of their engagement for one reason or another.

I've fallen off on interacting with the FE fandom on anything other than here, mainly because of the sense of, like, "definitive consensus" on what makes a quality game in the series becoming rampant and suffocating, that any uncommon belief or theory that wasn't in the specifically designated "hot takes" threads or whatnot, were met with nonchalant "man if only this was done better in [X] way" or "[Y] character deserved to be in a better game" and blah blah blah.

Needless to say, it's been pretty chill not feeling the need to really interact with the main big boys in other forums anymore.

Something that i find odd is how an unlikable prince like Shahid can muster up a massive force despite failing miserably 2 years ago and yet Claude, who is the king's favorite child, husband of a member of house Riegan and has Nader's approval aswell can't do the same as well.

For that matter how couldn't Claude muster up a huge force to attack Edelgard and yet Shahid can do just that despite being an incomplete commander?

Edit: someone pointed out Almyra's royal governance doesn't function the same as Faerghus + Claude at this point of the story is still hated by the royal family for having a mother from Fodlan. My mistake.

Ok but I have a random headcanon about the Alfred and Alear's B support:

What if the reason the flute music is haunting to Alear is because it’s an old folk song passed down Alfred’s ancestors and was played during an execution - one of the divine dragons family or followers loved it and out of respect/ defiance to the fell executioner it was played by a separate follower (think opening to Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End). So it's a normal lullaby, but Alear gets weird vibes because of being there 1000 years ago when the song was a tune sung by Sombron's enemies before they were executed.

Using F!Rhea this morning made me realise something -

FEH's artistic creativity led to a "softer" Hegemon Leader compared to her canon version in the games, but as for Berserk!Rhea, they took the "vines" that cover her body in her last form in SS and rolled with it in her humanoid form

And because this isn't a swimsuit alt, the vines/things grow over her clothes without any source (or starting point), but if you're not looking closely, you can believe it's Rhea's own body being fractured :

And I feel like it was something, in general, that was forgotten during all those years of discourse and "Rhea BaD bcs she created people from scratch" as in, Rhea and Nabateans themselves are Sothis' constructs !

But it's not as if Rhea is physically breaking apart during her rampage, rather, those vine-things are taking over her form much like :

The red/vine things we can see on Aelfie or the various demonic beasts.

So we can suppose those vine-like things appear on people when their crest stone (real or artificial) goes haywire - iirc in SS it is mention Rhea cannot control the power of her own crest stone (wut) and it "takes over" her .

So F!Rhea isn't "breaking apart", she's been taken over by those vine things in her lizard form, so it'd make sense - as much as it can by having a human form Rhea be berserk - that she would have the same vine things in her human form.
