poor barclay is so worried about not measuring up to tadg and viola. 😭 my poor little munchkin seriously is worried about Runa just dropping him or in his words “firing him” like no please give barclay some reassurance 🙏 ALSO the beef between Runa and Cyril is like lowk funny. And when audrian gets introduced as edywn and meets Runa at the beginning, I imagined him to just be sweating bullets the entire time lol. It’s was really funny rereading all the scenes with Runa, Cyril, and Keyes when they didn’t know edywn was keyes. Like they were just fighting and arguing with each other and audrian is just in the corner with some popcorn, watching this happen while being edywn lol

Also feel so sad for Barclay when he tells Runa he doesn’t think he’s a good lore keeper cus he’s and Elsie :(

Grand Three Siblings

Ok, so I’m a little (a lot) obsessed with the idea of the grand three being siblings but I’ve kinda been questioning what order they go in? (Oldest middle youngest)

I think Cyril is the oldest, I’m not entirely sure why but he seems the most mature and the way Runa teases him seems like how a younger sibling would tease their older brother.

Runa and Audrien is where I get stuck because I feel like they could both be the youngest or middle. Usually I go with Runa being the youngest but if anyone has actual evidence, pls tell me bc I’m basically just going with what I feel like that day. Also I can totally see Runa and Audrien playing tons of pranks on Cyril and just annoying him out of his mind in general.

(Day 30) How did Leopold fuck up so bad as a mentor that his apprentices turned out as:

Worked for Leopold until he practically humiliated Leopold in front of the entire world by supplying information for an article that ruined Leopold'e reputation. (Also is probably the one who hates him the least out of the three)

Your daughter's mentor who hates your guts and probably voted against you, as well as almost killed your favorite apprentice. (Still isn't the one that hates him the most)

A narcissistic terrorist with a mix between a savior complex and a god complex, and he wants to kill you and destroy the Wilderlands (Aka your home) (he is probably the one who hates you the most and he was your favorite.)

Ok but one thing that I absolutely love about Runa is that she looked at Viola Dumont, daughter of the mentor that treated her so terribly, ex apprentice of the man who betrayed her and tried to kill her in her darkest moment, and went, "I'm going to treat this girl better than they ever could".

And she did!! Viola thrives under Runa's instruction! Runa never says a bad word about Leopold in front of her, she doesn't even delve into outright facts about their history in front of her unless she has to! Because that's still her dad and Runa respects that!! She cares for Viola and the boys so deeply that even Barclay, who has attachment and abandonment issues, knows that she is their family and that she will always treat them well.

Runa is still so damaged by the hardships life threw at her, by all the tragedy she's faced, but she makes damn sure that she's breaking the cycle as best as she can.

damn there is NOT enough people in this fandom, like I swear, there’s only like 3 people in it. Anyways, if you’re in it and you see this, yap w/ me pls!! I personally love this series, and it’s probably my favorite book series ever. The world building in this series is SO good, and even with all of the crazy things happening in it I’d live there over ANY country in the world atm. I mean, c’mon I can have a cool beast or two that gives me magic?! I WANT THIS SO BAD! The Murdock beast section at the end of the books is always a treat, especially when I get to read it after I finish it (sometimes I can’t wait till I finish.) I had gotten the first book after the second one had come out, and I immediately fell in LOVE with this series, it’s genuinely soooo good. (Trying to persuade you to read it lmao) for the last 2 books I’ve preordered (because I love them so much) and both have been GREAT decisions. These books keep on getting better. And not to mention the character dynamics are just.. *chefs kiss* I mean, friends to rivals to forced-working-together rivals for Runa and Cyril. And of course the whole Yasha segment, and the perfect twists at the end of the second book are amazing and I just can’t get enough of how good it is. Back to world building, litterally EVERY minor character and detail of locations sticks with you, the city names, way rooms are described, the educational system, and the geography is sooo well written, even if it isn’t described to you that much, you can tell where things are and what wilderlands the books will head to. But even though you can guess some things, the plot is soo good it is NEVER predictable, I mean, the ending of the 4th book had me sweating and shaking because of the tension in those finally chapters.

anyways, I’m gonna give props to Amanda Foody for making this sick book series, please read it. I’m BEGGING YOU.

I find it funny that Leopold, Audrian, and Runa are very recognizable, Leopold is 7ft tall, Audrian looks like someone's insane great-grandfather, and Runa has her scar. And then Cyril is just some guy, just some John Doe- the default man if you will.

Ok-ok-ok. I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this, and my dumb-ahh just took too long to think this, but.. Runa has bone lore right? She can basically get blasted 2,000ft in the air and break 50 of her bones and just mend them with her, right? So....can she break bones with her lore too?? Like just imagine this: Runa is trying to get Cyril to do something, but he won't. So she'll like, lightly bruise his wrist (or some bone in his body), like a threat or something so that it hurts, and then after feeling a shock of pain in his bone and remembering Runa can just break his bones with her lore, he'll do whatever the heck she just asked him to do. Maybe she can't! I dunno! Maybe there's some sort of limit to her bone lore, so she can't do that, or she'd be overpowered. But if she could, that'd be pretty cool right? 😦 WHY AM I ONLY THINKING OF THIS NOW?? IDK IF SHE'S DONE THIS BEFORE! DID SHE?? IDK- *explodes*

Headcanon: Cyril used to braid Runa's hair when they were apprentices, so he became really good at it after a while.

Then, when he became a mentor, he struggled with bonding with the girl. So, he offered to braid their hair.

When Viola was still his apprentice, Cyril asked Kadia to teach him how to do Viola's hair because he noticed that it was bothering her during training.

Now, before missions and Dooling tournaments, Cyril braids Runa's hair to keep it out of her eyes.

How many nightmares do you think Runa is going to have after the events of TNC, especially now that Cyril is taking the kids and she's all by herself. Not just nightmares about Grusha, and Audrian, and Navrashtya, but nightmares about the kids. Nightmares about not being able to save Barclay. Nightmares about how Tadg went in after Barclay, wondering if she was going to lose yet another Murdock to the water. Nightmares where Barclay gets taken away from her and treated like a science experiment.
